1 In_year three of_(the)_reign of _Jehoiakim the _king of _Yəhūdāh he _came Nebuchadnezzar the _king of _Bāvelh Yərūshālayim and_he/it _laid _seige to_it.
2 And_he/it _gave my_master/master in_his/its_hand DOM Jehoiakim the _king of _Yəhūdāh and_from_(the)_sum of _the _vessels of _the _house the_ʼElhīmv and_he/it _brought_them the _land of _Shinar the _house his/its_god and_DOM the_vessels he _brought the _house of _the _treasury his/its_god.
3 And_he/it _said the_king to_Ashpenaz the _chief his/its_officials to_bring from_(the)_sons of _Yisərā^ʼēl/(Israel) and_from_(the)_seed the_royalty and_from the_nobles.
4 Youths whom there _[was]_not (is)_in_them any blemish[fn] and_good _of of _appearance and_having _insight in_all wisdom and_knowing _of (of)_knowledge and_understanding _of (of)_knowledge and_which ability (is)_in_them to_stand in_(the)_palace the_king and_to_teach_them the _writing and_(the)_tongue of _[the]_ones_from _Kasəddiy.

8 And_he/it _assigned Dāniyyēʼl on his/its_heart DOM_that not he _defiled _himself in/with_food the_king and_in/with_wine his/its_drinking/feast and_he/it _sought from_(the)_chief the_officials DOM_that not he _will _defile _himself.
9 And_he/it _gave the_ʼElhīmv DOM Dāniyyēʼl to_favour and_for_compassion to_(the)_face _of/in _front _of/before the _chief the_officials.
10 And_he/it _said the _chief the_officials to/for_Dāniyyēʼl [am]_fearing I DOM my_master/master the_king who he _has _assigned DOM your _all’s_food and_DOM your _all’s_drink that to/for_what will _he _see DOM your _all’s_faces looking _thin more _than the_youths who of_age_your _all’s and_you _all _will _endanger DOM my_head with _the_king.
11 And_he/it _said Dāniyyēʼl to the_guardian whom he _had _assigned the _chief the_officials over Dāniyyēʼl Hananiah Mīshā^ʼēl and_Azaryah.
12 Put _to _the _test please DOM your_servants days ten and_they _give to/for_us some _of the_herbs/vegetables and_we _eat and_water and_drink.
13 And_they _appear to_your_face our_appearance and_appearance the_youths the_ones _eating DOM the _delicaci[es] the_king and_as_which you _will _see deal with servants_your.

17 And_the_youths the_these them_four he _gave to/for_them the_ʼElhīmv knowledge and_understanding in_all writing and_wisdom and_Dāniyyēʼl he _understood in_all vision and_dreams.
18 And_to_from_(the)_end the_days which he _had _said the_king to_bring_them and_he/it _brought_them the _chief the_officials to_(the)_face _of/in _front _of/before Nebuchadnezzar.
19 And_he/it _spoke with_them the_king and_not he _was _found from_all_them like_Dāniyyēʼl Hananiah Mīshā^ʼēl and_Azaryah and_they _stood to_(the)_face _of/in _front _of/before the_king’s.
20 And_all/each/any/every matter of _wisdom of _understanding which he _sought from_them the_king and_he/it _found_them ten hands above all the_magicians/soothsayers the_enchanters who in_all his/its_kingdom.
21 And_he/it _was Dāniyyēʼl until year one to/for_Coresh the_king.
