The Pharisees and Sadducees Ask For a Sign

The Pharisees and Sadducees Ask For a Sign

16Now the Pharisees and Sadducees came and tested Jesus, asking him to show them a sign from heaven. 2But he answered them, “When evening comes you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ 3And in the morning you say, ‘There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ [fn]Hypocrites! You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but you cannot [fn]discern the signs of the times? 4An evil and adulterous generation asks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah [fn]the prophet.” Then he left them and went away.
