[2] Tip'cha |
1 Hear [4] this word [3] am lifting up on you, [3] a lamentation, [2] |
[1] Silluq |
2 “She has fallen. [3] She shall rise no more, [2] of Israel; [1] There is no one to raise her up.” [1] |
3 For thus he says, [3] the Lord GOD, [2] which goes out a thousand, [2] it shall have left a hundred; [1] it shall have left ten, [2] of the house of Israel.” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
4 For thus he says, [3] the LORD [2] to the house of Israel; [1] and live, [1] |
5 but do not seek [3] Bethel, [2] you must not go to, [2] you must not pass over; [1] it shall surely go into exile, [2] it shall become trouble. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
6 Seek the LORD [2] and live; [1] the house of Joseph, [2] for Bethel, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
7 O ones who turn into wormwood, [2] justice; [1] to the ground they cast down, [1] |
8 (seek) the one who made Pleiades [4] and Orion, [3] deep darkness, [2] he makes into dark night; [1] and he pours them out [3] on the surface of the earth, [2] the LORD is his name, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
9 who brings sudden destruction [2] on the strong; [1] it will come on the fortress. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
10 They hate in the gate [2] the one who reproves; [1] they abhor. [1] |
11 Therefore, [4 4] because you trample [4] on the poor, [3] you take from him, [2] you have built, [2] but you will not dwell in them; [1] but you will not drink [2] their wine. [1] |
12 For I know [3 3] how many are your offenses, [2] your sins; [1] O takers of a bribe, [2] in the gate they turn aside. [1] |
13 לָכֵ֗ן [3] Revi'i הַמַּשְׂכִּ֛יל [3] Tevir בָּעֵ֥ת הַהִ֖יא [2] Tip'cha יִדֹּ֑ם [1] Etnachta עֵ֥ת רָעָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha הִֽיא׃ [1] Silluq |
13 Therefore [3] the prudent [3] in such a time, [2] he will keep silent; [1] an evil time [2] it is. [1] |
14 Seek good and not evil, [2] that you may live; [1] the LORD God of Hosts [3] will be with you, [2] just as you have said. [1] |
15 Hate evil [3] and love good, [2] justice; [1] he will be gracious, [3] the LORD God of Hosts, [2] to the remnant of Joseph.” [1] § |
16 Therefore, [4 4] thus says the LORD [4] God of Hosts, [3] the Lord, [2] and in all the streets [2] they will say, ‘Alas! Alas!’ [1] to mourning, [2] to those who are skillful in lamentation. [1] |
17 And in all the vineyards [2] will be wailing; [1] says the LORD. [1] ¶ |
18 “Woe to those who long for [2] the day of the LORD! [1] the day of the LORD? [2] It will be darkness and not light. [1] |
19 Just as a man flees [3] from before the lion, [2] the bear; [1] on the wall [2] the snake. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
20 Won’t (it) be darkness, [3] the day of the LORD, [2] and not light? [1] and it will have no brightness? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
21 I hate, I reject [2] your feasts; [1] in your assemblies. [1] |
22 For though you offer up to me burnt offerings [3] and your grain offerings, [2] I will not accept them; [1] I will not pay attention to. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
23 Remove from me [2] the noise of your songs! [1] I will not listen to. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
24 But let it roll on like rivers, [2] justice; [1] like a mighty stream. [1] |
25 “Sacrifices and grain offerings [4] did you bring to me in the wilderness [3] forty years, [2] O house of Israel? [1] |
26 You will lift up [3] -- [3] the tent of your king [2] the shrine of your images; [1] your god [2] for yourselves. [1] |
27 And I will send you into exile [2] beyond Damascus,” [1] the LORD God of Hosts, [2] his name. [1] ¶ |
