1 And in year two [3] of the reign [3] of Nebuchadnezzar, [2] dreams; [1] and his sleep, [2] it went from him. [1] |
|||
2 So the king said [4 4] to call for the magicians [4] and for the enchanters, [3] and for the Chaldeans, [2] his dreams; [1] and they stood [2] before the king. [1] |
|||
3 And he said to them, [3] the king, [2] “A dream I have dreamed; [1] to know [2] the dream.” [1] |
|||
4 Then the Chaldeans spoke [3] to the king [2] Aramaic; [1] live forever! [2] to your servants, [2] and the interpretation we will declare.” [1] |
|||
5 The king answered [3] and said to the Chaldeans, [2] from me is firm; [1] the dream and its interpretation, [2] you will be cut, [2] they will be made a refuse heap. [1] |
|||
6 But if the dream and its interpretation [3] you will declare, [2] and great honor [2] from before me; [1] the dream and its interpretation [2] declare to me.” [1] |

7 They answered a second time [2] and they said; [1] let him tell to his servants, [2] and the interpretation we will declare.” [1] |
|||
8 The king answered [3] and said, [2] I know [2] you are trying to gain; [1] you see [2] from me is the word, [1] |
|||
9 that if the dream you do not make known to me [4] there is but one verdict for you, [3] you have agreed together [3] to speak before me, [2] such time [2] as it is changed; [1] the dream [3] tell to me, [2] that its meaning [2] you can declare to me.” [1] |

10 The Chaldeans answered before the king [3] and they said, [2] on the earth [2] the matter of the king, [2] declare; [1] that [3] any king [3 3] however great or mighty, [2] he has not asked [2] or enchanter or Chaldean. [1] |

11 And what the king asks [3] is difficult, [2] there is not [2] before the king; [1] their dwelling place [2] it is not.” [1] |

12 Because of this [2] the king, [2] he was angry [2] and he was very furious; [1] to destroy [2] the wise men of Babylon. [1] |
|||
13 So the decree went out, [2] and the wise men [2] were about to be killed; [1] Daniel and his companions [2] to be killed. [1] § |
|||
14 Then Daniel, [3] he replied [3] with prudence and discretion [2] the captain of the guard [2] of the king; [1] had gone out to kill [2] of Babylon. [1] |
|||
15 He answered and he said [3] to Arioch [3] the captain of the king, [2] so urgent [2] from before the king?” [1] Arioch made known [2] to Daniel. [1] |
|||
16 And Daniel, [2] he went in [2] and he asked from the king; [1] time he would grant him, [2] to show to the king. [1] § |
|||
17 Then Daniel, [2] to his house he went; [1] Mishael and Azariah [3] his companions, [2] the matter he made known, [1] |

18 and mercy [3] to seek [3] from before [3] the God of the heavens [2] this; [1] Daniel and his companions [2] of the wise men of Babylon. [1] |

19 Then [3] to Daniel [3] in a vision of the night, [2] the mystery was revealed; [1] Daniel, [2] the God of the heavens. [1] |
|||
20 Daniel answered [3] and said, [2] be blessed [2] to eternity; [1] and might [2] are his. [1] |

21 And he [4 4] changes the times [3] and the seasons, [2] and he sets up kings; [1] to the wise, [2] to the discerning. [1] |

24 Therefore [3] Daniel, [3] he went in to Arioch [2] the king had appointed [2] the wise men of Babylon; [1] and this he said to him, [3] do not destroy, [2] before the king, [2] to the king I will declare.” [1] § |
