1 In the first year [3] of Belshazzar [3] king of Babylon, [2] he saw a dream, [2] on his bed; [1] the dream he wrote down, [2] he told. [1] |

4 “The first was like a lion, [2] and wings of an eagle [2] it had; [1] as its wings were plucked off [4] and it was lifted up from the earth, [3] like a man it was made to stand, [2] it was given to it. [1] |

5 “And behold another beast, a second, [4] was like a bear [3] it was raised up, [2] were in its mouth [2] between its teeth; [1] it was told, [2] much flesh!’ [1] |

7 “After this I saw [4] in the visions of the night, [3] terrifying and dreadful and strong [4] exceedingly, [3] great, [2] and the residue [2] trampling with its feet; [1] from all the beasts [3] which were before it, [2] it had. [1] |

8 “I thought [4] about the horns, [3] another horn, small, [3] it came up among them, [2] of the horns, [3] the former, [2] from before it; [1] like the eyes of man [3] were on this horn, [2] which was speaking boastfully. [1] |

9 “I watched [3] as thrones, [3] they were set in place, [2] he sat; [1] white as snow [3] like pure wool, [2] flames of fire, [2] burning fire. [1] |

11 “I watched, [2] because of the sound [3] of the boastful words [2] was speaking; [1] as the beast was killed [3] and its body was destroyed, [2] to the burning fire. [1] |

12 And the rest [3] of the beasts, [2] their dominion; [1] it was given to them [2] for a season and a time. [1] |

14 And to him was given dominion, [3] and glory and a kingdom, [2] nations [3] and languages, [2] him they will serve; [1] is an everlasting dominion [3] which will not pass away, [2] one which will not be destroyed. [1] ¶ |

15 “My spirit was distressed, [3] I Daniel [2] within my body; [1] they alarmed me. [1] |

16 I came near [3] to one [3] of those standing, [2] concerning all this; [1] and the interpretation of the things [2] he made known to me. [1] |

17 ‘These [3] great beasts, [2] are four; [1] who will arise from the earth. [1] |

| 18 וִֽיקַבְּלוּן֙ [3] Pashta מַלְכוּתָ֔א [2] Zaqef עֶלְיוֹנִ֑ין [1] Etnachta עַֽד־עָ֣לְמָ֔א [2] Zaqef עָלַ֥ם עָלְמַיָּֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
18 But they will receive [3] the kingdom, [2] of the Most High; [1] forever, [2] forever and ever.’ [1] |

19 “Then [3] I wanted [3] to know the truth [3] about the beast, [3] the fourth, [2] from all of them; [1] its teeth of iron [3] and its claws of bronze, [2] and the residue [2] with its feet trampling, [1] |

| 20 וְעַל־קַרְנַיָּ֤א עֲשַׂר֙ [3] Pashta דִּ֣י בְרֵאשַׁ֔הּ [2] Zaqef דִּ֣י סִלְקַ֔ת [2] Zaqef תְּלָ֑ת [1] Etnachta וְעַיְנִ֣ין לַ֗הּ [3] Revi'i מְמַלִּ֣ל רַבְרְבָ֔ן [2] Zaqef רַ֥ב מִן־חַבְרָתַֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
20 and about the ten horns [3] that were on its head, [2] which came up, [2] three; [1] that had eyes, [3] speaking boastful things, [2] was greater than its companions. [1] |

21 I saw, [2] and this horn [2] was making war [2] against the holy ones; [1] over them, [1] |

22 until he came, [3] the ancient [3] of days, [2] for the holy ones [2] of the Most High; [1] and the kingdom [2] the holy ones received. [1] |

23 “Thus [3] he said, [2] the fourth, [2] it will be on the earth, [2] from all the kingdoms; [1] all the earth, [2] and it will crush it. [1] |

24 And the ten horns, [2] the kingdom, [2] they will arise; [1] he will arise after them, [3] from the former, [2] he will bring down. [1] |

27 And the kingdom and the dominion [4] and the greatness [3] kingdoms [3] under all the heavens, [2] to the people [2] of the holy ones of the Most High; [1] is an everlasting kingdom, [2] dominions, [2] and they will obey.’ [1] |
