בֵּלְאשַׁצַּ֣ר הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ [1] Etnachta
 
חָז֞וֹן [4] Gershayim
נִרְאָ֤ה אֵלַי֙ [3] Pashta
אֲנִ֣י דָנִיֵּ֔אל [2] Zaqef
 
אַחֲרֵ֛י [3] Tevir
הַנִּרְאָ֥ה אֵלַ֖י [2] Tip'cha
בַּתְּחִלָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq

בְּעֵילָ֣ם הַמְּדִינָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וָאֶרְאֶה֙ [3] Pashta
בֶּֽחָז֔וֹן [2] Zaqef
 
וַאֲנִ֥י הָיִ֖יתִי [2] Tip'cha
עַל־אוּבַ֥ל אוּלָֽי׃ [1] Silluq

was in Susa the citadel [2]

3 וָאֶשָּׂ֤א עֵינַי֙ [3] Pashta

וְהִנֵּ֣ה ׀ [4] Legarmeh
אַ֣יִל אֶחָ֗ד [3] Revi'i
 
עֹמֵ֛ד [3] Tevir
לִפְנֵ֥י הָאֻבָ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
 
וְל֣וֹ קְרָנָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַקְּרָנַ֣יִם גְּבֹה֗וֹת [3] Revi'i
וְהָאַחַת֙ [3] Pashta
גְּבֹהָ֣ה מִן־הַשֵּׁנִ֔ית [2] Zaqef
 
וְהַ֨גְּבֹהָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
עֹלָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בָּאַחֲרֹנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

a ram [3]
 
was standing [3]
before the canal, [2]
 
and it had two horns; [1]
 
and the two horns were high, [3]
but the one [3]
was higher than the other, [2]
 
and the higher one [2]
grew up [2]
last. [1]
4 רָאִ֣יתִי אֶת־הָאַ֡יִל [4] Pazer
מְנַגֵּ֩חַ֩ יָ֨מָּה וְצָפ֜וֹנָה [4] Geresh
וָנֶ֗גְבָּה [3] Revi'i
 
וְכׇל־חַיּוֹת֙ [3] Pashta
לֹֽא־יַֽעַמְד֣וּ לְפָנָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֵ֥ין מַצִּ֖יל [2] Tip'cha
מִיָּד֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וְעָשָׂ֥ה כִרְצֹנ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
וְהִגְדִּֽיל׃ [1] Silluq

charging westward and northward [4]
and southward, [3]
 
and any living creatures [3]
could not stand before him, [2]
 
and there was no one who could deliver [2]
from his hand; [1]
 
so he did as he pleased, [2]
and he magnified himself. [1]
5 וַאֲנִ֣י ׀ [4] Legarmeh
הָיִ֣יתִי מֵבִ֗ין [3] Revi'i
 
וְהִנֵּ֤ה צְפִיר־הָֽעִזִּים֙ [3] Pashta
בָּ֤א מִן־הַֽמַּעֲרָב֙ [3] Pashta
עַל־פְּנֵ֣י כׇל־הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֵ֥ין נוֹגֵ֖עַ [2] Tip'cha
בָּאָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַ֨צָּפִ֔יר [2] Zaqef
קֶ֥רֶן חָז֖וּת [2] Tip'cha
בֵּ֥ין עֵינָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq

I was observing, [3]
 
and behold, a male goat [3]
coming from the west [3]
across the face of the whole earth, [2]
 
without touching [2]
the ground; [1]
 
and the goat, [2]
a prominent horn [2]
was between his eyes. [1]
6 וַיָּבֹ֗א [3] Revi'i
עַד־הָאַ֙יִל֙ [3 3] Pashta
בַּ֣עַל הַקְּרָנַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֣ר רָאִ֔יתִי [2] Zaqef
עֹמֵ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
לִפְנֵ֣י הָאֻבָ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
וַיָּ֥רׇץ אֵלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
בַּחֲמַ֥ת כֹּחֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

to the ram [3 3]
with the two horns [2]
 
which I had seen [2]
standing [2]
before the canal; [1]
 
and he ran at him [2]
in his powerful fury. [1]
7 וּרְאִיתִ֞יו [4] Gershayim
מַגִּ֣יעַ ׀ [4] Legarmeh
אֵ֣צֶל הָאַ֗יִל [3] Revi'i
 
וַיִּתְמַרְמַ֤ר אֵלָיו֙ [3] Pashta
וַיַּ֣ךְ אֶת־הָאַ֔יִל [2] Zaqef
 
וַיְשַׁבֵּר֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־שְׁתֵּ֣י קְרָנָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
וְלֹא־הָ֥יָה כֹ֛חַ [3] Tevir
בָּאַ֖יִל [2] Tip'cha
לַעֲמֹ֣ד לְפָנָ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּשְׁלִיכֵ֤הוּ אַ֙רְצָה֙ [3 3] Pashta
וַֽיִּרְמְסֵ֔הוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְלֹא־הָיָ֥ה מַצִּ֛יל [3] Tevir
לָאַ֖יִל [2] Tip'cha
מִיָּדֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

coming [4]
up to the ram, [3]
 
and he was enraged against him [3]
and he struck the ram, [2]
 
and he broke [3]
his two horns, [2]
 
and there was no strength [3]
in the ram [2]
to stand before him; [1]
 
but he threw him to the ground [3 3]
and he trampled him, [2]
 
and there was no one who could deliver [3]
the ram [2]
from his hand. [1]
8 וּצְפִ֥יר הָעִזִּ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
הִגְדִּ֣יל עַד־מְאֹ֑ד [1] Etnachta
 
וּכְעׇצְמ֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
נִשְׁבְּרָה֙ [3] Pashta
הַקֶּ֣רֶן הַגְּדֹלָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וַֽתַּעֲלֶ֜נָה [4] Geresh
חָז֤וּת אַרְבַּע֙ [3] Pashta
תַּחְתֶּ֔יהָ [2] Zaqef
 
לְאַרְבַּ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
רוּח֥וֹת הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 3 2 3 4 2 8 Then the male goat, [2]
he magnified himself exceedingly; [1]
 
but as soon as he became mighty, [3]
it was broken, [3]
the great horn, [2]
 
and there grew up [4]
four prominent ones [3]
in its place, [2]
 
toward the four [2]
winds of the heavens. [1]
9 וּמִן־הָאַחַ֣ת מֵהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
יָצָ֥א קֶֽרֶן־אַחַ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
מִצְּעִירָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַתִּגְדַּל־יֶ֛תֶר [3] Tevir
אֶל־הַנֶּ֥גֶב וְאֶל־הַמִּזְרָ֖ח [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶל־הַצֶּֽבִי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 9 And from one of them [2]
a horn came forth, [2]
small; [1]
 
which became exceedingly great [3]
toward the south and toward the east, [2]
and toward the beautiful land. [1]
10 וַתִּגְדַּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
עַד־צְבָ֣א הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וַתַּפֵּ֥ל אַ֛רְצָה [3] Tevir
מִן־הַצָּבָ֥א וּמִן־הַכּוֹכָבִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וַֽתִּרְמְסֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 10 And it became great, [2]
up to the host of the heavens; [1]
 
and it cast down to the ground [3]
some of the host and some of the stars, [2]
and it trampled them. [1]
11 וְעַ֥ד שַֽׂר־הַצָּבָ֖א [2] Tip'cha
הִגְדִּ֑יל [1] Etnachta
 
וּמִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
*הרים **הוּרַ֣ם הַתָּמִ֔יד [2] Zaqef
 
וְהֻשְׁלַ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha
מְכ֥וֹן מִקְדָּשֽׁוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 11 And against the prince of the host [2]
it magnified itself; [1]
 
and from him [3 3]
the continual burnt offering was taken away, [2]
 
and it was thrown down, [2]
the place of his sanctuary. [1]
12 וְצָבָ֛א [3] Tevir
תִּנָּתֵ֥ן עַל־הַתָּמִ֖יד [2] Tip'cha
בְּפָ֑שַׁע [1] Etnachta
 
וְתַשְׁלֵ֤ךְ אֱמֶת֙ [3] Pashta
אַ֔רְצָה [2] Zaqef
 
וְעָשְׂתָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְהִצְלִֽיחָה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 12 And a host, [3]
it will be given against the continual burnt offering [2]
because of transgression; [1]
 
and it will throw down truth [3]
to the ground, [2]
 
and it will act [2]
and it will prosper. [1]
13 וָאֶשְׁמְעָ֥ה אֶֽחָד־קָד֖וֹשׁ [2] Tip'cha
מְדַבֵּ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֩אמֶר֩ אֶחָ֨ד קָד֜וֹשׁ [4] Geresh
לַפַּֽלְמוֹנִ֣י הַֽמְדַבֵּ֗ר [3] Revi'i
 
עַד־מָתַ֞י [4] Gershayim
הֶחָז֤וֹן הַתָּמִיד֙ [3] Pashta
וְהַפֶּ֣שַׁע שֹׁמֵ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
תֵּ֛ת [3] Tevir
וְקֹ֥דֶשׁ וְצָבָ֖א [2] Tip'cha
מִרְמָֽס׃ [1] Silluq

speaking; [1]
 
and another holy one said [4]
to the one who was speaking, [3]
 
“For how long [4]
will be the vision of the continual burnt offering [3]
and the desolating transgression, [2]
 
to give over [3]
and the sanctuary and host [2]
to be trampled?” [1]
14 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
עַ֚ד [3] Yetiv
עֶ֣רֶב בֹּ֔קֶר [2] Zaqef
 
אַלְפַּ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
וּשְׁלֹ֣שׁ מֵא֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
וְנִצְדַּ֖ק [2] Tip'cha
קֹֽדֶשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 2 14 And he said to me, [2]
 
“Until [3]
evening morning [2]
 
two thousand [2]
and three hundred; [1]
 
then it will be put right, [2]
the sanctuary.” [1]
15 וַיְהִ֗י [3] Revi'i
בִּרְאֹתִ֛י [3] Tevir
אֲנִ֥י דָנִיֵּ֖אל [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הֶחָז֑וֹן [1] Etnachta
 
וָאֲבַקְשָׁ֣ה בִינָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְהִנֵּ֛ה [3] Tevir
עֹמֵ֥ד לְנֶגְדִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
כְּמַרְאֵה־גָֽבֶר׃ [1] Silluq

when I had seen, [3]
I Daniel, [2]
the vision; [1]
 
then I sought understanding, [2]
 
and behold [3]
standing before me [2]
was one who looked like a man. [1]
16 וָאֶשְׁמַ֥ע קוֹל־אָדָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בֵּ֣ין אוּלָ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּקְרָא֙ [3] Pashta
וַיֹּאמַ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
גַּבְרִיאֵ֕ל [2] ZaqefG
הָבֵ֥ן לְהַלָּ֖ז [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַמַּרְאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 2 16 And I heard the voice of a man [2]
between the banks of the Ulai; [1]
 
and he called [3]
and he said, [2]
 
“O Gabriel, [2]
explain to this one [2]
the vision.” [1]
17 וַיָּבֹא֙ [3] Pashta
אֵ֣צֶל עׇמְדִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וּבְבֹא֣וֹ נִבְעַ֔תִּי [2] Zaqef
וָאֶפְּלָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
עַל־פָּנָ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלַי֙ [3] Pashta
הָבֵ֣ן בֶּן־אָדָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
לְעֶת־קֵ֥ץ הֶחָזֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq

near where I stood, [2]
 
and when he came I was frightened [2]
and I fell [2]
on my face; [1]
 
but he said to me, [3]
“Understand, O son of man, [2]
 
that [2]
for the time of the end is the vision.” [1]
18 וּבְדַבְּר֣וֹ עִמִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
נִרְדַּ֥מְתִּי עַל־פָּנַ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אָ֑רְצָה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּ֨גַּע־בִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
וַיַּֽעֲמִידֵ֖נִי [2] Tip'cha
עַל־עׇמְדִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 18 And when he spoke with me [2]
I fell into a deep sleep with my face [2]
to the ground; [1]
 
but he touched me, [2]
and he made me stand up [2]
in my place. [1]
19 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ [3 3] Pashta
הִנְנִ֣י מוֹדִֽיעֲךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
 
אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־יִהְיֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בְּאַחֲרִ֣ית הַזָּ֑עַם [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
לְמוֹעֵ֥ד קֵֽץ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 19 And he said, [3 3]
“Behold, I will make known to you [2]
 
what will be [2]
at the end of the indignation; [1]
 
for [2]
it is for the appointed time of the end. [1]
20 הָאַ֥יִל אֲשֶׁר־רָאִ֖יתָ [2] Tip'cha
בַּ֣עַל הַקְּרָנָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
מַלְכֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
מָדַ֥י וּפָרָֽס׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 20 The ram which you saw [2]
with the two horns; [1]
 
is the kings [2]
of Media and Persia. [1]
21 וְהַצָּפִ֥יר הַשָּׂעִ֖יר [2] Tip'cha
מֶ֣לֶךְ יָוָ֑ן [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַקֶּ֤רֶן הַגְּדוֹלָה֙ [3] Pashta
אֲשֶׁ֣ר בֵּין־עֵינָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
ה֖וּא [2] Tip'cha
הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ הָרִאשֽׁוֹן׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 21 And the shaggy male goat [2]
is the king of Greece; [1]
 
and the great horn [3]
which is between his eyes, [2]
 
he [2]
is the first king. [1]
22 וְהַ֨נִּשְׁבֶּ֔רֶת [2] Zaqef
וַתַּֽעֲמֹ֥דְנָה אַרְבַּ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
תַּחְתֶּ֑יהָ [1] Etnachta
 
אַרְבַּ֧ע מַלְכֻי֛וֹת [3] Tevir
מִגּ֥וֹי יַעֲמֹ֖דְנָה [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֥א בְכֹחֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 22 And that which was broken, [2]
where four arose [2]
in its place; [1]
 
four kingdoms, [3]
from a nation they will arise, [2]
but not with his power. [1]
23 וּֽבְאַחֲרִית֙ [3] Pashta
מַלְכוּתָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
כְּהָתֵ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
הַפֹּשְׁעִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
יַעֲמֹ֛ד [3] Tevir
מֶ֥לֶךְ עַז־פָּנִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וּמֵבִ֥ין חִידֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 23 “And at the end [3]
of their reign, [2]
 
when at their full measure [2]
are the transgressors; [1]
 
he will arise, [3]
a king of fierce face, [2]
and understanding of intrigue. [1]
24 וְעָצַ֤ם כֹּחוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
וְלֹ֣א בְכֹח֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וְנִפְלָא֥וֹת יַשְׁחִ֖ית [2] Tip'cha
וְהִצְלִ֣יחַ וְעָשָׂ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְהִשְׁחִ֥ית עֲצוּמִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וְעַם־קְדֹשִֽׁים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 24 And his power will be mighty, [3]
but not by his own power, [2]
 
and he will destroy fearfully, [2]
and he will succeed in what he does; [1]
 
and he will destroy mighty ones, [2]
and a holy people. [1]
25 וְעַל־שִׂכְל֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
וְהִצְלִ֤יחַ מִרְמָה֙ [3] Pashta
בְּיָד֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וּבִלְבָב֣וֹ יַגְדִּ֔יל [2] Zaqef
וּבְשַׁלְוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
יַשְׁחִ֣ית רַבִּ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וְעַ֤ל־שַׂר־שָׂרִים֙ [3] Pashta
יַעֲמֹ֔ד [2] Zaqef
 
וּבְאֶ֥פֶס יָ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
יִשָּׁבֵֽר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 2 3 2 25 And by his shrewdness [3]
he will cause deceit to prosper [3]
in his hand, [2]
 
and in his heart he will magnify himself, [2]
and in prosperity [2]
he will destroy many; [1]
 
and against a prince of princes [3]
he will stand - [2]
 
but without a hand [2]
he will be broken. [1]
26 וּמַרְאֵ֨ה הָעֶ֧רֶב וְהַבֹּ֛קֶר [3] Tevir
אֲשֶׁ֥ר נֶאֱמַ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
אֱמֶ֣ת ה֑וּא [1] Etnachta
 
וְאַתָּה֙ [3] Pashta
סְתֹ֣ם הֶֽחָז֔וֹן [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
לְיָמִ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 26 “Now the vision of the evening and the morning [3]
which has been told, [2]
it is true; [1]
 
but you, [3]
keep secret the vision, [2]
 
for [2]
it will be after many days.” [1]
27 וַאֲנִ֣י דָנִיֵּ֗אל [3] Revi'i
נִהְיֵ֤יתִי וְנֶֽחֱלֵ֙יתִי֙ [3 3] Pashta
יָמִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וָאָק֕וּם [2] ZaqefG
וָאֶֽעֱשֶׂ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־מְלֶ֣אכֶת הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ [1] Etnachta
 
וָאֶשְׁתּוֹמֵ֥ם עַל־הַמַּרְאֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְאֵ֥ין מֵבִֽין׃ [1] Silluq

I was exhausted and I was sick [3 3]
for some days, [2]
 
then I got up [2]
and I did [2]
the work of the king; [1]
 
but I was appalled at the vision, [2]
and no one could explain it. [1]
