2 Do not be rash with your mouth, [4] and do not let your heart be hasty [3] to utter a word [2] before God; [1] and you on the earth, [2] let your words [2] be few. [1] |

2 כִּ֛י [3] Tevir בָּ֥א הַחֲל֖וֹם [2] Tip'cha בְּרֹ֣ב עִנְיָ֑ן [1] Etnachta בְּרֹ֥ב דְּבָרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
3 For [3] a dream comes [2] with a multitude of busyness; [1] with a multitude of words. [1] |

3 כַּאֲשֶׁר֩ תִּדֹּ֨ר נֶ֜דֶר [4] Geresh לֵֽאלֹהִ֗ים [3] Revi'i לְשַׁלְּמ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef אֵ֥ין חֵ֖פֶץ [2] Tip'cha בַּכְּסִילִ֑ים [1] Etnachta שַׁלֵּֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
4 When you vow a vow [4] to God, [3] to pay it, [2] there is no pleasure [2] in fools; [1] pay. [1] |

5 Better [2] that you do not vow; [1] and you do not pay. [1] |

6 Do not let your mouth [3 3] lead your flesh to sin, [2] before the messenger [2] it was; [1] at your voice, [2] the work of your hands? [1] |

7 For in a multitude of dreams [3] there are vanities, [2] many; [1] you must fear. [1] |

8 If oppression of the poor [4] and perversion of justice and righteousness [3 3] you see in the province, [2] at the matter; [1] over another authority [3 3] is watching, [2] are over them, [1] |

9 and the increase of a land, [2] on everyone it is; [1] he is served. [1] |

10 One who loves silver [3 3] shall not be satisfied with silver, [2] not with increase; [1] is futility. [1] |

11 When increases [3] the good, [2] those who consume it; [1] to its owner [2] to see it with his eyes? [1] |

12 Sweet [3] is the sleep of the laborer [2] he eats; [1] of the rich, [2] allow him [2] to sleep. [1] |

13 There is [3] a grievous evil [2] under the sun; [1] kept by its owner [2] to his harm. [1] |

14 And it was lost, [3] that wealth, [2] by misfortune; [1] not in his hand [2] is anything. [1] |

15 Just as he came out [3] from the womb of his mother, [2] shall he return [2] just as he came; [1] he shall not take for his labor [2] in his hand. [1] |

16 And this too [3] is a grievous evil, [2] so shall he go; [1] who has labored [2] for the wind? [1] |

17 So all his days [2] in darkness he eats; [1] with his sickness and anger. [1] |

17 הִנֵּ֞ה [4] Gershayim אֲשֶׁר־רָאִ֣יתִי אָ֗נִי [3] Revi'i וְלִרְא֨וֹת טוֹבָ֜ה [4] Geresh בְּכׇל־עֲמָל֣וֹ ׀ [4] Legarmeh שֶׁיַּעֲמֹ֣ל תַּֽחַת־הַשֶּׁ֗מֶשׁ [3] Revi'i אֲשֶׁר־נָֽתַן־ל֥וֹ הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha |
18 Behold [4] what I, I have seen - [3] and to find enjoyment [4] in all his labor [4] that one labors under the sun, [3] that God has given him, [2] |

18 גַּ֣ם כׇּֽל־הָאָדָ֡ם [4] Pazer אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָֽתַן־ל֣וֹ הָאֱלֹהִים֩ עֹ֨שֶׁר וּנְכָסִ֜ים [4] Geresh וְהִשְׁלִיט֨וֹ לֶאֱכֹ֤ל מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta וְלָשֵׂ֣את אֶת־חֶלְק֔וֹ [2] Zaqef בַּעֲמָל֑וֹ [1] Etnachta מַתַּ֥ת אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha הִֽיא׃ [1] Silluq |
19 And every person [4] to whom God has given wealth and riches [4] and he has empowered him to eat from it, [3 3] and to receive his portion, [2] in his labor; [1] a gift of God [2] it is. [1] |

20 For [3] not often [2] the days of his life; [1] keeps (him) occupied [2] with the joy of his heart. [1] |
