כִּֽי־אֲנִ֞י [4] Gershayim
הִכְבַּ֤דְתִּי אֶת־לִבּוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
וְאֶת־לֵ֣ב עֲבָדָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
לְמַ֗עַן [3] Revi'i
שִׁתִ֛י [3] Tevir
אֹתֹתַ֥י אֵ֖לֶּה [2] Tip'cha
בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

“Go [2]
to Pharaoh; [1]
 
for I, [4]
I have hardened his heart [3]
and the heart of his servants, [2]
 
that [3]
I may show [3]
these my signs [2]
in their midst, [1]

תְּסַפֵּר֩ בְּאׇזְנֵ֨י בִנְךָ֜ [4] Geresh
וּבֶן־בִּנְךָ֗ [3] Revi'i
 
אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁ֤ר הִתְעַלַּ֙לְתִּי֙ [3 3] Pashta
בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶת־אֹתֹתַ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁר־שַׂ֣מְתִּי בָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
כִּי־אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

and the son of your son, [3]
 
that which I have done [3 3]
to Egypt, [2]
 
and my signs [2]
which I have done among them; [1]

עַד־מָתַ֣י מֵאַ֔נְתָּ [2] Zaqef
לֵעָנֹ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
מִפָּנָ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
שַׁלַּ֥ח עַמִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
וְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq

“Thus says the LORD, [3]
the God of the Hebrews, [2]
 
‘How long will you refuse [2]
to humble yourself [2]
before me? [1]
 
Let my people go, [2]
that they may serve me. [1]

אִם־מָאֵ֥ן אַתָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לְשַׁלֵּ֣חַ אֶת־עַמִּ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
הִנְנִ֨י מֵבִ֥יא מָחָ֛ר [3] Tevir
אַרְבֶּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בִּגְבֻלֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq

behold tomorrow I will bring [3]
locusts [2]
into your territory, [1]
5 וְכִסָּה֙ [3] Pashta

וְלֹ֥א יוּכַ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
לִרְאֹ֣ת אֶת־הָאָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta
 
וְאָכַ֣ל ׀ [4] Legarmeh
אֶת־יֶ֣תֶר הַפְּלֵטָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
 
הַנִּשְׁאֶ֤רֶת לָכֶם֙ [3] Pashta
מִן־הַבָּרָ֔ד [2] Zaqef
 
וְאָכַל֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־כׇּל־הָעֵ֔ץ [2] Zaqef
 
הַצֹּמֵ֥חַ לָכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
מִן־הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq

the face of the land, [2]
 
so that no one will be able [2]
to see the ground; [1]
 
and they shall eat [4]
the remainder of what has escaped, [3]
 
which is left to you [3]
from the hail, [2]
 
and they shall eat [3]
every tree [2]
 
which grows for you [2]
from the field. [1]
6 וּמָלְא֨וּ בָתֶּ֜יךָ [4] Geresh

אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹֽא־רָא֤וּ אֲבֹתֶ֙יךָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
וַאֲב֣וֹת אֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef
 
מִיּ֗וֹם [3] Revi'i
הֱיוֹתָם֙ [3] Pashta
עַל־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
עַ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּ֥פֶן וַיֵּצֵ֖א [2] Tip'cha
מֵעִ֥ם פַּרְעֹֽה׃ [1] Silluq

as your fathers have not seen [3 3]
or the fathers of your fathers, [2]

from Pharaoh. [1]

אֶת־הָ֣אֲנָשִׁ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וְיַֽעַבְד֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
הֲטֶ֣רֶם תֵּדַ֔ע [2] Zaqef
כִּ֥י אָבְדָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
מִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq

will this man be to us [3 3]
a snare? [2]
 
Let go [3]
the men, [2]
 
that they may serve [2]
the LORD their God; [1]
 
do you not yet realize [2]
that it is destroyed, [2]
Egypt?” [1]

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
לְכ֥וּ עִבְד֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
מִ֥י וָמִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
הַהֹלְכִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

to Pharaoh, [2]
 
and he said to them, [2]
“Go serve [2]
the LORD your God; [1]
 
but who [2]
are those who will go?” [1]
9 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֔ה [2] Zaqef
בִּנְעָרֵ֥ינוּ וּבִזְקֵנֵ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
נֵלֵ֑ךְ [1] Etnachta
 
בְּבָנֵ֨ינוּ וּבִבְנוֹתֵ֜נוּ [4] Geresh
בְּצֹאנֵ֤נוּ וּבִבְקָרֵ֙נוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
נֵלֵ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י חַג־יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לָֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq

“With our young and with our elderly [2]
we will go; [1]
 
with our sons and with our daughters, [4]
with our flocks and with our herds [3 3]
we will go, [2]
 
for the LORD's feast [2]
we must have.” [1]
10 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i
יְהִ֨י כֵ֤ן יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
עִמָּכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר [3] Tevir
אֲשַׁלַּ֥ח אֶתְכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶֽת־טַפְּכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
רְא֕וּ [2] ZaqefG
כִּ֥י רָעָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
נֶ֥גֶד פְּנֵיכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq

I let you go [2]

for evil [2]
is before your faces. [1]

לְכֽוּ־נָ֤א הַגְּבָרִים֙ [3] Pashta
וְעִבְד֣וּ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י אֹתָ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha
אַתֶּ֣ם מְבַקְשִׁ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וַיְגָ֣רֶשׁ אֹתָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
מֵאֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
פְּנֵ֥י פַרְעֹֽה׃ [1] Silluq

the presence of Pharaoh. [1]

וְיַ֖עַל [2] Tip'cha
עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וְיֹאכַל֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־כׇּל־עֵ֣שֶׂב הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
אֵ֛ת [3] Tevir
כׇּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִשְׁאִ֖יר [2] Tip'cha
הַבָּרָֽד׃ [1] Silluq

“Stretch out your hand [4]
over the land of Egypt [3 3]
for the locusts, [2]
 
that they may come up [2]
on the land of Egypt; [1]
 
and that they may eat [3]
every plant in the land, [2]

all that it has left, [2]
the hail.” [1]
13 וַיֵּ֨ט מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶת־מַטֵּ֘הוּ֮ [3 3] Zarqa

וַֽיהֹוָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
נִהַ֤ג רֽוּחַ־קָדִים֙ [3] Pashta
בָּאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
כׇּל־הַיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא [2] Tip'cha
וְכׇל־הַלָּ֑יְלָה [1] Etnachta
 
הַבֹּ֣קֶר הָיָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְר֙וּחַ֙ [3 3] Pashta
הַקָּדִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
נָשָׂ֖א [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הָאַרְבֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq

and the LORD, [3]
he drove an east wind [3]
over the land, [2]
 
all that day [2]
and all the night; [1]
 
when it was morning, [2]

of the east, [2]
 
it had brought [2]
the locusts. [1]
14 וַיַּ֣עַל הָֽאַרְבֶּ֗ה [3] Revi'i

וַיָּ֕נַח [2] ZaqefG

כָּבֵ֣ד מְאֹ֔ד [2] Zaqef
 
לְ֠פָנָ֠יו [4 4] TelishaG
לֹא־הָ֨יָה כֵ֤ן אַרְבֶּה֙ [3] Pashta
כָּמֹ֔הוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְאַחֲרָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א יִֽהְיֶה־כֵּֽן׃ [1] Silluq

all the land of Egypt, [2]
 
and they settled [2]
on all [2]
the territory of Egypt; [1]
 
so dense, [2]
 
before them [4 4]
there had not been such locusts [3]

and after them [2]
shall there not be such. [1]
15 וַיְכַ֞ס [4] Gershayim
אֶת־עֵ֣ין כׇּל־הָאָ֘רֶץ֮ [3 3] Zarqa
וַתֶּחְשַׁ֣ךְ הָאָ֒רֶץ֒ [2 2] Segol
 
וַיֹּ֜אכַל [4] Geresh
אֶת־כׇּל־עֵ֣שֶׂב הָאָ֗רֶץ [3] Revi'i
 
וְאֵת֙ [3] Pashta
כׇּל־פְּרִ֣י הָעֵ֔ץ [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר הוֹתִ֖יר [2] Tip'cha
הַבָּרָ֑ד [1] Etnachta
 
וְלֹא־נוֹתַ֨ר כׇּל־יֶ֧רֶק בָּעֵ֛ץ [3] Tevir
וּבְעֵ֥שֶׂב הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בְּכׇל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq

the surface of all the land, [3 3]
so the land grew dark, [2 2]
 
and they ate [4]
every plant in the land, [3]
 
and [3]
all the fruit of the trees [2]
 
which it had left, [2]

and no greenery was left behind on the trees [3]
or on the plants of the field, [2]
in all the land of Egypt. [1]
16 וַיְמַהֵ֣ר פַּרְעֹ֔ה [2] Zaqef
לִקְרֹ֖א [2] Tip'cha
לְמֹשֶׁ֣ה וּֽלְאַהֲרֹ֑ן [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֗אמֶר [3] Revi'i
חָטָ֛אתִי [3] Tevir
לַיהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וְלָכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq

to call [2]
for Moses and for Aaron; [1]
 
and he said, [3]
“I have sinned [3]
against the LORD your God, [2]
and against you. [1]
17 וְעַתָּ֗ה [3] Revi'i
שָׂ֣א נָ֤א חַטָּאתִי֙ [3] Pashta
אַ֣ךְ הַפַּ֔עַם [2] Zaqef
 
וְהַעְתִּ֖ירוּ [2] Tip'cha
לַיהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְיָסֵר֙ [3] Pashta
מֵֽעָלַ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
רַ֖ק [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַמָּ֥וֶת הַזֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq

please forgive my sin [3]
just this once, [2]
 
and pray [2]
to the LORD your God; [1]
 
that he would take away [3]
from me [2]

מֵעִ֣ם פַּרְעֹ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֶּעְתַּ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 18 So he went out [2]
from Pharaoh; [1]
 
and he prayed [2]
to the LORD. [1]
19 וַיַּהֲפֹ֨ךְ יְהֹוָ֤ה רֽוּחַ־יָם֙ [3] Pashta
חָזָ֣ק מְאֹ֔ד [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּשָּׂא֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־הָ֣אַרְבֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּתְקָעֵ֖הוּ [2] Tip'cha
יָ֣מָּה סּ֑וּף [1] Etnachta
 
לֹ֤א נִשְׁאַר֙ [3] Pashta
אַרְבֶּ֣ה אֶחָ֔ד [2] Zaqef
 
בְּכֹ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
גְּב֥וּל מִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq

very strong, [2]
 
and it carried away [3]
the locusts, [2]
 
and it drove them [2]
to the Sea of Suf; [1]
 
there remained not [3]
one locust [2]
 
in all [2]
the territory of Egypt. [1]
20 וַיְחַזֵּ֥ק יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־לֵ֣ב פַּרְעֹ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְלֹ֥א שִׁלַּ֖ח [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq

the heart of Pharaoh; [1]
 
and he did not let go [2]
the children of Israel. [1]
21 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה [4] Geresh

נְטֵ֤ה יָֽדְךָ֙ [3] Pashta
עַל־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
וִ֥יהִי חֹ֖שֶׁךְ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וְיָמֵ֖שׁ [2] Tip'cha
חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ [1] Silluq

“Stretch out your hand [3]
to the heavens, [2]
 
and there will be darkness [2]
over the land of Egypt; [1]
 
and it will be felt, [2]
the darkness.” [1]
22 וַיֵּ֥ט מֹשֶׁ֛ה [3] Tevir
אֶת־יָד֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיְהִ֧י חֹֽשֶׁךְ־אֲפֵלָ֛ה [3] Tevir
בְּכׇל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת יָמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

his hand [2]
to the heavens; [1]
 
and there was a thick darkness [3]
in all the land of Egypt [2]
three days. [1]
23 לֹֽא־רָא֞וּ [4] Gershayim
אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־אָחִ֗יו [3] Revi'i
 
וְלֹא־קָ֛מוּ [3] Tevir
אִ֥ישׁ מִתַּחְתָּ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
 
שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וּֽלְכׇל־בְּנֵ֧י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל [3] Tevir
הָ֥יָה א֖וֹר [2] Tip'cha
בְּמוֹשְׁבֹתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

one another, [3]
 
and they could not rise [3]
anyone from his place, [2]
 
three days; [1]
 
yet all the children of Israel [3]
had light [2]
in their dwellings. [1]

עִבְד֣וּ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef

צֹאנְכֶ֥ם וּבְקַרְכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יֻצָּ֑ג [1] Etnachta
 
גַּֽם־טַפְּכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יֵלֵ֥ךְ עִמָּכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq

“Go, [3]
serve the LORD, [2]
 
only [3]
your flocks and your herds, [2]
let them remain behind; [1]
 
and your little ones, [2]

25 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
גַּם־אַתָּ֛ה [3] Tevir
תִּתֵּ֥ן בְּיָדֵ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha
זְבָחִ֣ים וְעֹלֹ֑ת [1] Etnachta
 
וְעָשִׂ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
לַיהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ [1] Silluq

“Also you, [3]
you must put into our hand [2]
sacrifices and burnt offerings; [1]
 
so we can offer (them) [2]
to the LORD our God. [1]
26 וְגַם־מִקְנֵ֜נוּ [4] Geresh
יֵלֵ֣ךְ עִמָּ֗נוּ [3] Revi'i
 
לֹ֤א תִשָּׁאֵר֙ [3] Pashta
פַּרְסָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֚י [3] Yetiv
מִמֶּ֣נּוּ נִקַּ֔ח [2] Zaqef
 
לַעֲבֹ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וַאֲנַ֣חְנוּ לֹֽא־נֵדַ֗ע [3] Revi'i
מַֽה־נַּעֲבֹד֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
עַד־בֹּאֵ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha
שָֽׁמָּה׃ [1] Silluq

it must go with us, [3]
 
it may not be left behind, [3]
a hoof, [2]
 
for [3]
from it we must take [2]
 
to serve [2]
the LORD our God; [1]
 
and we, we will not know [3]
with what we will serve [3]
the LORD, [2]
 
until we arrive [2]
there.” [1]
27 וַיְחַזֵּ֥ק יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־לֵ֣ב פַּרְעֹ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְלֹ֥א אָבָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לְשַׁלְּחָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 27 But the LORD hardened [2]
the heart of Pharaoh; [1]
 
and he was not willing [2]
to let them go. [1]
28 וַיֹּֽאמֶר־ל֥וֹ פַרְעֹ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לֵ֣ךְ מֵעָלָ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
הִשָּׁ֣מֶר לְךָ֗ [3] Revi'i
אַל־תֹּ֙סֶף֙ [3 3] Pashta
רְא֣וֹת פָּנַ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֗י [3] Revi'i
בְּי֛וֹם [3] Tevir
רְאֹתְךָ֥ פָנַ֖י [2] Tip'cha
תָּמֽוּת׃ [1] Silluq

“Go away from me! [1]
 
Take heed for yourself [3]
if you again [3 3]
see my face, [2]
 
for [3]
on the day [3]
you see my face, [2]
you shall die!” [1]
29 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
כֵּ֣ן דִּבַּ֑רְתָּ [1] Etnachta
 
לֹא־אֹסִ֥ף ע֖וֹד [2] Tip'cha
רְא֥וֹת פָּנֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq

“Well you have spoken. [1]
 
I will not again [2]
see your face.” [1]
