1 וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 1 Then the LORD spoke [2]
to Moses saying, [1]
2 דַּבֵּר֮ [3] Zarqa
אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ [2] Segol
 
וְיָשֻׁ֗בוּ [3] Revi'i
וְיַחֲנוּ֙ [3] Pashta
לִפְנֵי֙ [3] Pashta
פִּ֣י הַחִירֹ֔ת [2] Zaqef
 
בֵּ֥ין מִגְדֹּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
וּבֵ֣ין הַיָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
לִפְנֵי֙ [3] Pashta
בַּ֣עַל צְפֹ֔ן [2] Zaqef
 
נִכְח֥וֹ תַחֲנ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־הַיָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq

that they turn back [3]
and encamp [3]
before [3]
Pi-Hahiroth, [2]
 
between Migdol [2]
and between the sea; [1]

Baal Zephon, [2]
 
opposite it you shall encamp, [2]
by the sea. [1]
3 וְאָמַ֤ר פַּרְעֹה֙ [3] Pashta
לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
נְבֻכִ֥ים הֵ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בָּאָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta
 
סָגַ֥ר עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
הַמִּדְבָּֽר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 Then Pharaoh will say [3]
of the children of Israel, [2]
 
‘They are wandering aimlessly [2]
in the land; [1]
 
it has shut them in, [2]
the wilderness.’ [1]
4 וְחִזַּקְתִּ֣י אֶת־לֵב־פַּרְעֹה֮ [3] Zarqa
וְרָדַ֣ף אַחֲרֵיהֶם֒ [2] Segol
 
וְאִכָּבְדָ֤ה בְּפַרְעֹה֙ [3] Pashta
וּבְכׇל־חֵיל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וְיָדְע֥וּ מִצְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
כִּֽי־אֲנִ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־כֵֽן׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 4 And I will harden the heart of Pharaoh [3]
so he will chase after them, [2]
 
and I will gain honor over Pharaoh [3]
and over all his army, [2]
 
and the Egyptians shall know [2]
that I am the LORD.” [1]

לְבַ֨ב פַּרְעֹ֤ה וַעֲבָדָיו֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־הָעָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ [3] Pashta
מַה־זֹּ֣את עָשִׂ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־שִׁלַּ֥חְנוּ אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
מֵעׇבְדֵֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq

that they had fled, [2]
the people; [1]
 
it was changed, [4 4]
the heart of Pharaoh and his servants [3]
toward the people, [2]

“What is this we have done, [2]
 
that we have let Israel go [2]
from serving us?” [1]
6 וַיֶּאְסֹ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־רִכְבּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֶת־עַמּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
לָקַ֥ח עִמּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 6 So he harnessed [2]
his chariot; [1]
 
and his people [2]
he took with him, [1]
7 וַיִּקַּ֗ח [3] Revi'i
שֵׁשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת רֶ֙כֶב֙ [3 3] Pashta
בָּח֔וּר [2] Zaqef
 
וְכֹ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
רֶ֣כֶב מִצְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וְשָׁלִשִׁ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
עַל־כֻּלּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

six hundred chariots [3 3]
of choice, [2]
 
and all [2]
the chariots of Egypt; [1]
 
with captains [2]
over all of them. [1]
8 וַיְחַזֵּ֣ק יְהֹוָ֗ה [3] Revi'i

מֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּרְדֹּ֕ף [2] ZaqefG

נֹסֵ֣עַ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i
 
וַיִּֽירְאוּ֙ [3] Pashta

וַיִּצְעֲק֥וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, [4]
and behold the Egyptians [4]
were marching after them, [3]
 
so they were afraid [3]
exceedingly, [2]
 
and the children of Israel cried out [2]
to the LORD. [1]
11 וַיֹּאמְרוּ֮ [3] Zarqa
אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֒ [2] Segol
 
הֲֽמִבְּלִ֤י אֵין־קְבָרִים֙ [3] Pashta
בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
לְקַחְתָּ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha
לָמ֣וּת בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
מַה־זֹּאת֙ [3] Pashta
עָשִׂ֣יתָ לָּ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef
 
לְהוֹצִיאָ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha
מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq

“Is it because there were no graves [3]
in Egypt [2]
 
that you have taken us away [2]
to die in the wilderness? [1]
 
What is this [3]
you have done to us, [2]
 
by bringing us out [2]
from Egypt? [1]
12 הֲלֹא־זֶ֣ה הַדָּבָ֗ר [3] Revi'i
אֲשֶׁר֩ דִּבַּ֨רְנוּ אֵלֶ֤יךָ בְמִצְרַ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta
לֵאמֹ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
חֲדַ֥ל מִמֶּ֖נּוּ [2] Tip'cha
וְנַֽעַבְדָ֣ה אֶת־מִצְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֣י ט֥וֹב לָ֙נוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
עֲבֹ֣ד אֶת־מִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
מִמֻּתֵ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha
בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ [1] Silluq

that we spoke to you in Egypt [3 3]

‘Leave us alone, [2]
that we may serve the Egyptians?’ [1]
 
For it was better for us [3 3]
to serve the Egyptians [2]
 
than to die [2]
in the wilderness.” [1]

וּרְאוּ֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־יְשׁוּעַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
הַיּ֑וֹם [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֗י [3] Revi'i
אֲשֶׁ֨ר רְאִיתֶ֤ם אֶת־מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta
הַיּ֔וֹם [2] Zaqef
 
לֹ֥א תֹסִ֛פוּ [3] Tevir
לִרְאֹתָ֥ם ע֖וֹד [2] Tip'cha
עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

“Don’t be afraid. [2 2]
 
Stand firm [3]
and see [3]
the deliverance of the LORD [2]
 
which he will accomplish for you [2]
today; [1]
 
for [3]
the Egyptians whom you have seen [3 3]
today, [2]
 
you will no more [3]
see them again, [2]
forever. [1]

“Why are you crying [2]
to me? [1]
 
Speak to the children of Israel, [2]
that they go forward. [1]
16 וְאַתָּ֞ה [4] Gershayim
הָרֵ֣ם אֶֽת־מַטְּךָ֗ [3] Revi'i
 
וּנְטֵ֧ה אֶת־יָדְךָ֛ [3] Tevir
עַל־הַיָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
 
וּבְקָעֵ֑הוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְיָבֹ֧אוּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל [3] Tevir
בְּת֥וֹךְ הַיָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בַּיַּבָּשָֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq

lift up your staff, [3]
 
and stretch out your hand [3]
over the sea [2]
 
and divide it; [1]
 
then the children of Israel will go [3]
into the midst of the sea [2]
on dry ground. [1]

הִנְנִ֤י מְחַזֵּק֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־לֵ֣ב מִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
וְיָבֹ֖אוּ [2] Tip'cha
אַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְאִכָּבְדָ֤ה בְּפַרְעֹה֙ [3] Pashta
וּבְכׇל־חֵיל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
בְּרִכְבּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
וּבְפָרָשָֽׁיו׃ [1] Silluq

behold I will harden [3]
the hearts of the Egyptians, [2]
 
and they will go in [2]
after them; [1]
 
so that I will be glorified over Pharaoh [3]
and over all his army, [2]
 
over his chariots [2]
and over his horsemen. [1]
18 וְיָדְע֥וּ מִצְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
כִּי־אֲנִ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
בְּהִכָּבְדִ֣י בְּפַרְעֹ֔ה [2] Zaqef
בְּרִכְבּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
וּבְפָרָשָֽׁיו׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 18 Then the Egyptians will know [2]
that I am the LORD; [1]
 
when I have been glorified over Pharaoh, [2]
over his chariots, [2]
and over his horsemen.” [1]
19 וַיִּסַּ֞ע [4] Gershayim
מַלְאַ֣ךְ הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים [3] Revi'i
 
הַהֹלֵךְ֙ [3] Pashta
לִפְנֵי֙ [3] Pashta
מַחֲנֵ֣ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ [2] Tip'cha
מֵאַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּסַּ֞ע [4] Gershayim
עַמּ֤וּד הֶֽעָנָן֙ [3] Pashta
מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef

וַיְהִ֤י הֶֽעָנָן֙ [3] Pashta
וְהַחֹ֔שֶׁךְ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיָּ֖אֶר [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַלָּ֑יְלָה [1] Etnachta
 
וְלֹא־קָרַ֥ב זֶ֛ה [3] Tevir
אֶל־זֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
כׇּל־הַלָּֽיְלָה׃ [1] Silluq

and there was the cloud [3]
and the darkness, [2]
 
and it lit up [2]

and the one didn’t come near [3]

21 וַיֵּ֨ט מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶת־יָדוֹ֮ [3] Zarqa
עַל־הַיָּם֒ [2] Segol
 
וַיּ֣וֹלֶךְ יְהֹוָ֣ה ׀ אֶת־הַ֠יָּ֠ם [4 4] TelishaG
בְּר֨וּחַ קָדִ֤ים עַזָּה֙ [3] Pashta
כׇּל־הַלַּ֔יְלָה [2] Zaqef
 
וַיָּ֥שֶׂם אֶת־הַיָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
לֶחָרָבָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּבָּקְע֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
הַמָּֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq

over the sea, [2]
 
and the LORD drove back the sea [4 4]
with a strong east wind [3]
all night, [2]
 
and he made the sea [2]
into dry ground; [1]
 
and they were divided, [2]
the waters. [1]
22 וַיָּבֹ֧אוּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל [3] Tevir
בְּת֥וֹךְ הַיָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בַּיַּבָּשָׁ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַמַּ֤יִם לָהֶם֙ [3] Pashta
חוֹמָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
מִֽימִינָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וּמִשְּׂמֹאלָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

into the midst of the sea [2]
on the dry ground; [1]
 
and the waters to them [3]
were a wall [2]
 
on their right [2]
and on their left. [1]
23 וַיִּרְדְּפ֤וּ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta
וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
כֹּ֚ל [3] Yetiv
ס֣וּס פַּרְעֹ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
רִכְבּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
וּפָרָשָׁ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
אֶל־תּ֖וֹךְ [2] Tip'cha
הַיָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq

and they went in after them, [2]
 
all [3]
the horses of Pharaoh, [2]
 
his chariots [2]
and his horsemen; [1]
 
into the midst [2]
of the sea. [1]
24 וַֽיְהִי֙ [3] Pashta
בְּאַשְׁמֹ֣רֶת הַבֹּ֔קֶר [2] Zaqef
 
וַיַּשְׁקֵ֤ף יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־מַחֲנֵ֣ה מִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
בְּעַמּ֥וּד אֵ֖שׁ [2] Tip'cha
וְעָנָ֑ן [1] Etnachta
 
וַיָּ֕הׇם [2] ZaqefG
אֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
מַחֲנֵ֥ה מִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq

in the morning watch, [2]
 
the LORD looked down [3]
on the Egyptian army [2]
 
through the pillar of fire [2]
and cloud; [1]
 
and he threw into a panic [2]

25 וַיָּ֗סַר [3] Revi'i
אֵ֚ת [3] Yetiv
אֹפַ֣ן מַרְכְּבֹתָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
וַֽיְנַהֲגֵ֖הוּ [2] Tip'cha
בִּכְבֵדֻ֑ת [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מִצְרַ֗יִם [3] Revi'i
אָנ֙וּסָה֙ [3 3] Pashta
מִפְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
נִלְחָ֥ם לָהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בְּמִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq

with difficulty; [1]
 
so that the Egyptians said, [3]
“Let’s flee [3 3]
from before Israel, [2]
 
for the LORD [2]
is fighting for them [2]
against the Egyptians!” [1]
26 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
נְטֵ֥ה אֶת־יָדְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־הַיָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְיָשֻׁ֤בוּ הַמַּ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta
עַל־מִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
עַל־רִכְבּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
וְעַל־פָּרָשָֽׁיו׃ [1] Silluq

“Stretch out your hand [2]
over the sea; [1]
 
so that the waters come back [3 3]
over the Egyptians, [2]
 
over their chariots [2]
and over their horsemen.” [1]
27 וַיֵּט֩ מֹשֶׁ֨ה אֶת־יָד֜וֹ [4] Geresh

וַיָּ֨שׇׁב הַיָּ֜ם [4] Geresh
לִפְנ֥וֹת בֹּ֙קֶר֙ [3 3] Pashta
לְאֵ֣יתָנ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וּמִצְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
נָסִ֣ים לִקְרָאת֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיְנַעֵ֧ר יְהֹוָ֛ה [3] Tevir
אֶת־מִצְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
בְּת֥וֹךְ הַיָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq

over the sea, [3]
 
and the sea returned [4]
at the break of dawn [3 3]
to its place, [2]
 
and the Egyptians [2]
fled against it; [1]
 
but the LORD overthrew [3]
the Egyptians [2]
in the midst of the sea. [1]
28 וַיָּשֻׁ֣בוּ הַמַּ֗יִם [3] Revi'i
וַיְכַסּ֤וּ אֶת־הָרֶ֙כֶב֙ [3 3] Pashta
וְאֶת־הַפָּ֣רָשִׁ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
לְכֹל֙ [3] Pashta
חֵ֣יל פַּרְעֹ֔ה [2] Zaqef

לֹֽא־נִשְׁאַ֥ר בָּהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
עַד־אֶחָֽד׃ [1] Silluq

and they covered the chariots [3 3]
and the horsemen [2]
 
of all [3]
the army of Pharaoh [2]
 
which had gone after them [2]
into the sea. [1]
 
There didn't remain of them [2]
even one. [1]
29 וּבְנֵ֧י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל [3] Tevir
הָלְכ֥וּ בַיַּבָּשָׁ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בְּת֣וֹךְ הַיָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַמַּ֤יִם לָהֶם֙ [3] Pashta
חֹמָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
מִֽימִינָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וּמִשְּׂמֹאלָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

they had walked on dry ground [2]
in the midst of the sea; [1]
 
and the waters to them [3]
were a wall [2]
 
on their right [2]
and on their left. [1]
30 וַיּ֨וֹשַׁע יְהֹוָ֜ה [4] Geresh
בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֛וּא [3] Tevir
אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
מִיַּ֣ד מִצְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּ֤רְא יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־מִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
מֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
עַל־שְׂפַ֥ת הַיָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq

Israel [2]
from the hand of the Egyptians; [1]
 
and Israel saw [3]
the Egyptians [2]
 
dead [2]
on the seashore. [1]

אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשָׂ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּֽירְא֥וּ הָעָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּֽאֲמִ֙ינוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
בַּֽיהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וּבְמֹשֶׁ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
עַבְדּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
