שמות 5 | Exodus 5 | |||
1 Then afterwards [3] they went, [3] Moses and Aaron, [2] to Pharaoh; [1] the God of Israel, [2] my people, [2] in the wilderness.’ ” [1] |
2 But Pharaoh said, [2] that I should listen to his voice [2] Israel? [1] the LORD, [2] I will not let go.” [1] |
3 Then they said, [2] “The God of the Hebrews, [2] he has met with us; [1] a journey of three days [4] into the wilderness [3] to the LORD our God, [2] with pestilence [2] or with the sword.” [1] |
4 But he said to them, [3] the king of Egypt, [2] O Moses and Aaron [2] from their work? [1] to your labour!” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
5 Then Pharaoh said, [2] “Behold, so numerous now [2] are the people of the land; [1] from their labour.” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
6 Then Pharaoh commanded [2] on that day; [1] and their foremen [2] saying, [1] |
7 “You shall no longer [4] give the people straw [3] to make bricks [2] as before; [1] let them go [2] straw. [1] |
8 But the number of bricks [4] which they made before, [3] you shall require from them, [2] from it; [1] they cry out [3] saying, [2] let us sacrifice to our God.’ [1] |
9 Let the work be heavier [3] on the men, [2] that they will labor at it; [1] to lying words.” [1] |
10 Then they went out, [4] the slave masters of the people [3] and their foremen, [2] saying; [1] says Pharaoh, [2] give to you [2] straw. [1] |
11 You [3] go get for yourselves [3] straw [2] you can find it; [1] from your work, [2] anything.’ ” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
12 So the people scattered [2] through all the land of Egypt; [1] for straw, [1] |
13 with the slave masters [2] insisting saying; [1] the quota for a day in its day, [2] when there was straw.” [1] |
14 And they were beaten, [3] the foremen [3] of the children of Israel, [2] the slave masters of Pharaoh [2] saying; [1] have you not met your quota of making bricks [3] like before, [2] and today?” [1] |
15 Then they came, [3] the foremen [3] of the children of Israel, [2] saying; [1] to your servants? [1] |
16 Straw [3] is not given [3] to your servants, [2] we are told [2] to make; [1] are beaten, [2] but it is your own people at fault.” [1] |
17 But he said, [3] “You are idle, [2] idle; [1] you are saying, [2] let us sacrifice to the LORD.’ [1] |
[1] Silluq |
18 So now [3] go work, [2] it shall not be given to you; [1] you shall deliver.” [1] |
19 So they saw, [4] the foremen of the children of Israel, [3] that they [2] were in trouble when it was said; [1] the required number for a day in its day.” [1] |
20 Then they met [3] Moses and Aaron [2] to meet them; [1] from Pharaoh. [1] |
21 So they said to them, [2] on you [2] and may he judge; [1] in the eyes of Pharaoh [3] and in the eyes of his servants, [2] to kill us!” [1] |
22 So Moses returned [3] to the LORD, [2] and he said; [1] why have you brought trouble [3 3] to this people? [2] you sent me? [1] |
23 For since [4] I went to Pharaoh [3] to speak in your name, [2] to this people; [1] your people.” [1] |
