הַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וּבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
בֶּעָרִ֑ים [1] Etnachta

וַיֵּאָסְפ֥וּ הָעָ֛ם [3] Tevir
כְּאִ֥ישׁ אֶחָ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ [1] Silluq

and the people of Israel [2]
were in the cities; [1]

the people gathered together [3]
as one man, [2]
to Jerusalem. [1]

2 וַיָּ֩קׇם֩ יֵשׁ֨וּעַ בֶּן־יֽוֹצָדָ֜ק [4] Geresh
וְאֶחָ֣יו הַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים [3] Revi'i
 
וּזְרֻבָּבֶ֤ל בֶּן־שְׁאַלְתִּיאֵל֙ [3] Pashta
וְאֶחָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּבְנ֕וּ [2] ZaqefG
אֶת־מִזְבַּ֖ח [2] Tip'cha
אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
לְהַעֲל֤וֹת עָלָיו֙ [3] Pashta
עֹל֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
כַּכָּת֕וּב [2] ZaqefG
בְּתוֹרַ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
מֹשֶׁ֥ה אִישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel [3]
and his brothers, [2]
 
and they rebuilt [2]
the altar [2]
of the God of Israel; [1]
 
to offer up on it [3]
burnt offerings, [2]
 
as it is written [2]
in the Torah [2]
of Moses the man of God. [1]
3 וַיָּכִ֤ינוּ הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ [3 3] Pashta
עַל־מְכ֣וֹנֹתָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֚י [3] Yetiv
בְּאֵימָ֣ה עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
מֵעַמֵּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
הָאֲרָצ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
*ויעל **וַיַּעֲל֨וּ עָלָ֤יו עֹלוֹת֙ [3] Pashta
לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
עֹל֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
לַבֹּ֥קֶר וְלָעָֽרֶב׃ [1] Silluq

fear was on them [2]
 
from the peoples [2]
of the lands; [1]
 
and they offered up on it burnt offerings [3]
to the LORD, [2]
 
burnt offerings [2]
morning and evening. [1]
4 וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֛וּ [3] Tevir
אֶת־חַ֥ג הַסֻּכּ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
כַּכָּת֑וּב [1] Etnachta
 
וְעֹלַ֨ת י֤וֹם בְּיוֹם֙ [3] Pashta
בְּמִסְפָּ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
כְּמִשְׁפַּ֖ט [2] Tip'cha
דְּבַר־י֥וֹם בְּיוֹמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

the feast of booths, [2]
as it is written; [1]
 
and offered each day's burnt offerings [3]
by number, [2]
 
according to the ordinance [2]
as was required for each day, [1]
5 וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵ֞ן [4] Gershayim
עֹלַ֤ת תָּמִיד֙ [3] Pashta
וְלֶ֣חֳדָשִׁ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וּלְכׇל־מוֹעֲדֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
הַמְקֻדָּשִׁ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וּלְכֹ֛ל [3] Tevir
מִתְנַדֵּ֥ב נְדָבָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לַיהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

and (the offerings) for the new moons, [2]
 
and for all the appointed times of the LORD [2]
that were consecrated; [1]

who offered a freewill offering [2]

לְהַעֲל֥וֹת עֹל֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha

וְהֵיכַ֥ל יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א יֻסָּֽד׃ [1] Silluq

to the LORD; [1]
 
but the temple of the LORD, [2]
not yet laid was its foundation. [1]
7 וַיִּ֨תְּנוּ־כֶ֔סֶף [2] Zaqef
לַחֹצְבִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וְלֶחָרָשִׁ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וּמַאֲכָ֨ל וּמִשְׁתֶּ֜ה [4] Geresh
וָשֶׁ֗מֶן [3] Revi'i
 
לַצִּֽדֹנִים֙ [3] Pashta
וְלַצֹּרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
לְהָבִיא֩ עֲצֵ֨י אֲרָזִ֤ים מִן־הַלְּבָנוֹן֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־יָ֣ם יָפ֔וֹא [2] Zaqef
 
כְּרִשְׁי֛וֹן [3] Tevir
כּ֥וֹרֶשׁ מֶֽלֶךְ־פָּרַ֖ס [2] Tip'cha
עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq

to the people of Sidon [3]

to bring cedar trees from Lebanon [3]
to the sea, to Joppa, [2]
 
according to the permission [3]
of Cyrus the King of Persia [2]
to them. [1]

לְבוֹאָ֞ם [4] Gershayim
אֶל־בֵּ֤ית הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Pashta
לִיר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם [2] Zaqef

מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ [3] Pashta
וָמַ֔עְלָה [2] Zaqef
 
לְנַצֵּ֖חַ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־מְלֶ֥אכֶת בֵּית־יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

from the captivity to Jerusalem, [2]
 
and they appointed the Levites, [3]
from twenty years old [3]
and upward, [2]
 
to act as overseers [2]
over the work of the house of the LORD. [1]

עַל־עֹשֵׂ֥ה הַמְּלָאכָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha

וַיַּעֲמִ֩ידוּ֩ הַכֹּהֲנִ֨ים מְלֻבָּשִׁ֜ים [4] Geresh
בַּחֲצֹֽצְר֗וֹת [3] Revi'i
 
וְהַלְוִיִּ֤ם בְּנֵֽי־אָסָף֙ [3] Pashta
בַּֽמְצִלְתַּ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
לְהַלֵּל֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
עַל־יְדֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
דָּוִ֥יד מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq

of the temple of the LORD; [1]
 
they appointed the priests in their clothing [4]
with trumpets, [3]
 
and the Levites the sons of Asaph [3]
with cymbals, [2]
 
to praise [3]
the LORD [2]
 
according to the directions [2]
of David king of Israel. [1]

כִּֽי־לְעוֹלָ֥ם חַסְדּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
וְכׇל־הָעָ֡ם [4] Pazer
הֵרִ֩יעוּ֩ תְרוּעָ֨ה גְדוֹלָ֤ה בְהַלֵּל֙ [3] Pashta
לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
עַ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
הוּסַ֥ד בֵּית־יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

with praising and with giving thanks to the LORD, [3]
“For he is good, [2]
 
for forever is his lovingkindness [2]
toward Israel.” [1]
 
And all the people, [4]
they shouted a shout of joy great with praise [3]

its foundation was laid, the house of the LORD. [1]
