1 Now when they heard, [2] the adversaries of Judah [2] and Benjamin; [1] were building a temple [2] the God of Israel, [1] |

| 2 וַיִּגְּשׁ֨וּ אֶל־זְרֻבָּבֶ֜ל [4] Geresh וְאֶל־רָאשֵׁ֣י הָֽאָב֗וֹת [3] Revi'i נִבְנֶ֣ה עִמָּכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef נִדְר֖וֹשׁ [2] Tip'cha לֵֽאלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta אֲנַ֣חְנוּ זֹבְחִ֗ים [3] Revi'i אֵסַ֤ר חַדֹּן֙ [3] Pashta מֶ֣לֶךְ אַשּׁ֔וּר [2] Zaqef פֹּֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
2 they came near to Zerubbabel [4] and to the heads of the fathers’ households, [3] “Let us build with you, [2] we seek [2] your God; [1] we have been sacrificing [3] of Esar Haddon [3] king of Assyria, [2] here.” [1] |

3 But Zerubbabel said to them, [4] and Yeshua, [3] of Israel, [2] in building a house [2] for our God; [1] we will build it [3] the God of Israel, [2] the king, [2] Cyrus king of Persia.” [1] |

20 And mighty kings [3] there have been [3] over Jerusalem, [2] over all [2] the region beyond the River; [1] and toll [2] was paid to them. [1] |
