1 When it came, [3] the seventh month, [2] were in the cities; [1] § as one man, [2] to Jerusalem. [1] § |

2 וַיָּ֩קׇם֩ יֵשׁ֨וּעַ בֶּן־יֽוֹצָדָ֜ק [4] Geresh וְאֶחָ֣יו הַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים [3] Revi'i וְאֶחָ֔יו [2] Zaqef אֶת־מִזְבַּ֖ח [2] Tip'cha אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta עֹל֔וֹת [2] Zaqef בְּתוֹרַ֖ת [2] Tip'cha מֹשֶׁ֥ה אִישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
2 And he arose, Yeshua son of Jozadak, [4] and his brothers the priests, [3] and his brothers, [2] the altar [2] of the God of Israel; [1] burnt offerings, [2] in the Torah [2] of Moses the man of God. [1] |

3 וַיָּכִ֤ינוּ הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ [3 3] Pashta עַל־מְכ֣וֹנֹתָ֔יו [2] Zaqef בְּאֵימָ֣ה עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef הָאֲרָצ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef לַבֹּ֥קֶר וְלָעָֽרֶב׃ [1] Silluq |
3 And they set the altar [3 3] in its place, [2] fear was on them [2] of the lands; [1] to the LORD, [2] morning and evening. [1] |

4 וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֛וּ [3] Tevir אֶת־חַ֥ג הַסֻּכּ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha כַּכָּת֑וּב [1] Etnachta בְּמִסְפָּ֔ר [2] Zaqef דְּבַר־י֥וֹם בְּיוֹמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
4 And they celebrated [3] the feast of booths, [2] as it is written; [1] by number, [2] as was required for each day, [1] |

5 וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵ֞ן [4] Gershayim עֹלַ֤ת תָּמִיד֙ [3] Pashta וְלֶ֣חֳדָשִׁ֔ים [2] Zaqef הַמְקֻדָּשִׁ֑ים [1] Etnachta מִתְנַדֵּ֥ב נְדָבָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha לַיהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
5 and afterwards [4] the continual burnt offering, [3] and (the offerings) for the new moons, [2] that were consecrated; [1] who offered a freewill offering [2] to the LORD. [1] |

6 מִיּ֤וֹם אֶחָד֙ [3] Pashta לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י [2] Zaqef לְהַעֲל֥וֹת עֹל֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha לַיהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta לֹ֥א יֻסָּֽד׃ [1] Silluq |
6 From the first day [3] of the seventh month, [2] to offer up burnt offerings [2] to the LORD; [1] not yet laid was its foundation. [1] |

7 וַיִּ֨תְּנוּ־כֶ֔סֶף [2] Zaqef לַחֹצְבִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha וְלֶחָרָשִׁ֑ים [1] Etnachta וָשֶׁ֗מֶן [3] Revi'i וְלַצֹּרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef אֶל־יָ֣ם יָפ֔וֹא [2] Zaqef כּ֥וֹרֶשׁ מֶֽלֶךְ־פָּרַ֖ס [2] Tip'cha עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq פ |
7 And the people gave money [2] to the masons [2] and to the craftsmen; [1] and oil [3] and to the people of Tyre, [2] to the sea, to Joppa, [2] of Cyrus the King of Persia [2] to them. [1] ¶ |

8 וּבַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשֵּׁנִ֗ית [3] Revi'i אֶל־בֵּ֤ית הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Pashta לִיר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם [2] Zaqef הַשֵּׁנִ֑י [1] Etnachta זְרֻבָּבֶ֣ל בֶּן־שְׁ֠אַלְתִּיאֵ֠ל [4 4] TelishaG וְיֵשׁ֨וּעַ בֶּן־יֽוֹצָדָ֜ק [4] Geresh וּשְׁאָ֥ר אֲחֵיהֶ֣ם ׀ [4] Legarmeh הַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֗ם [3] Revi'i מֵהַשְּׁבִ֣י יְרֽוּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם [2] Zaqef מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ [3] Pashta וָמַ֔עְלָה [2] Zaqef עַל־מְלֶ֥אכֶת בֵּית־יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
8 Now in the second year [3] to the house of God, [3] to Jerusalem, [2] the second; [1] Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, [4 4] and Yeshua son of Jozadak, [4] and the rest of their brothers [4] the priests and the Levites, [3] from the captivity to Jerusalem, [2] from twenty years old [3] and upward, [2] over the work of the house of the LORD. 9 וַיַּעֲמֹ֣ד יֵשׁ֡וּעַ [4] Pazer בָּנָ֣יו וְ֠אֶחָ֠יו [4 4] TelishaG קַדְמִיאֵ֨ל וּבָנָ֤יו בְּנֵֽי־יְהוּדָה֙ [3] Pashta כְּאֶחָ֔ד [2] Zaqef עַל־עֹשֵׂ֥ה הַמְּלָאכָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha בְּבֵ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים [1] Etnachta ס חֵֽנָדָ֔ד [2] Zaqef הַלְוִיִּֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
9 Then Yeshua stood, [4] his sons and his brothers, [4 4] Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, [3] together, [2] over the workmen [2] in the house of God; [1] § of Henadad, [2] the Levites. [1] |

10 וְיִסְּד֥וּ הַבֹּנִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha אֶת־הֵיכַ֣ל יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta בַּחֲצֹֽצְר֗וֹת [3] Revi'i בַּֽמְצִלְתַּ֔יִם [2] Zaqef אֶת־יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef דָּוִ֥יד מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq |
10 When the builders laid the foundation [2] of the temple of the LORD; [1] with trumpets, [3] with cymbals, [2] the LORD [2] of David king of Israel. [1] |

11 וַֽ֠יַּעֲנ֠וּ [4 4] TelishaG בְּהַלֵּ֨ל וּבְהוֹדֹ֤ת לַֽיהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta כִּ֣י ט֔וֹב [2] Zaqef עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta הֵרִ֩יעוּ֩ תְרוּעָ֨ה גְדוֹלָ֤ה בְהַלֵּל֙ [3] Pashta לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef הוּסַ֥ד בֵּית־יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
11 And they sang [4 4] with praising and with giving thanks to the LORD, [3] “For he is good, [2] toward Israel.” [1] they shouted a shout of joy great with praise [3] to the LORD, [2] its foundation was laid, the house of the LORD. [1] |

12 וְרַבִּ֡ים [4] Pazer מֵהַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְהַלְוִיִּם֩ וְרָאשֵׁ֨י הָאָב֜וֹת [4] Geresh הַזְּקֵנִ֗ים [3] Revi'i אֶת־הַבַּ֤יִת הָֽרִאשׁוֹן֙ [3] Pashta בְּיׇסְד֔וֹ [2] Zaqef בְּעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef בְּק֣וֹל גָּד֑וֹל [1] Etnachta בִּתְרוּעָ֥ה בְשִׂמְחָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha לְהָרִ֥ים קֽוֹל׃ [1] Silluq |
12 But many [4] of the priests and the Levites and heads of the fathers [4] who were elderly, [3] the first house [3] on its foundation, [2] when they saw it, [2] with a loud voice; [1] with a shout of joy [2] were lifting up the voice, [1] |

13 וְאֵ֣ין הָעָ֗ם [3] Revi'i מַכִּירִים֙ [3] Pashta ק֚וֹל [3] Yetiv תְּרוּעַ֣ת הַשִּׂמְחָ֔ה [2] Zaqef בְּכִ֣י הָעָ֑ם [1] Etnachta מְרִיעִים֙ [3] Pashta תְּרוּעָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֔ה [2] Zaqef עַד־לְמֵרָחֽוֹק׃ [1] Silluq פ |
13 and the people could not [3] discern [3] the sound [3] of the shout of joy [2] of the weeping of the people; [1] were shouting [3] a great shout, [2] far away. [1] ¶ |
