1 וּכְכַלּ֣וֹת אֵ֗לֶּה [3] Revi'i
נִגְּשׁ֨וּ אֵלַ֤י הַשָּׂרִים֙ [3] Pashta
לֵאמֹ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
לֹֽא־נִבְדְּל֞וּ [4] Gershayim
הָעָ֤ם יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ [3] Pashta
וְהַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
מֵעַמֵּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
הָאֲרָצ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
כְּ֠תֹעֲבֹֽתֵיהֶ֠ם [4 4] TelishaG
לַכְּנַעֲנִ֨י הַחִתִּ֜י [4] Geresh
הַפְּרִזִּ֣י הַיְבוּסִ֗י [3] Revi'i
 
הָֽעַמֹּנִי֙ [3] Pashta
הַמֹּ֣אָבִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
הַמִּצְרִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
וְהָאֱמֹרִֽי׃ [1] Silluq

the leaders drew near to me [3]

“They have not separated themselves, [4]
the people of Israel, [3]
and the priests and the Levites, [2]
 
from the peoples [2]
of the lands; [1]
 
following their abominations, [4 4]
of the Canaanites, the Hittites, [4]
the Perizzites, the Jebusites, [3]
 
the Ammonites, [3]
the Moabites, [2]
 
the Egyptians, [2]
and the Amorites. [1]
2 כִּֽי־נָשְׂא֣וּ מִבְּנֹֽתֵיהֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i
לָהֶם֙ [3] Pashta
וְלִבְנֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וְהִתְעָֽרְבוּ֙ [3] Pashta
זֶ֣רַע הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ [2] Zaqef
 
בְּעַמֵּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
הָאֲרָצ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
וְיַ֧ד הַשָּׂרִ֣ים וְהַסְּגָנִ֗ים [3] Revi'i
הָ֥יְתָ֛ה [3] Tevir
בַּמַּ֥עַל הַזֶּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
רִאשׁוֹנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

and for their sons, [2]
 
and they have mixed themselves [3]
the holy offspring [2]
 
with the peoples [2]
of the lands; [1]
 
and the hand of the leaders and the rulers, [3]
it has been [3]
in this unfaithfulness, [2]
first.” [1]

אֶת־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
קָרַ֥עְתִּי אֶת־בִּגְדִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
וּמְעִילִ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וָאֶמְרְטָ֞ה [4] Gershayim
מִשְּׂעַ֤ר רֹאשִׁי֙ [3] Pashta
וּזְקָנִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וָאֵשְׁבָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
מְשׁוֹמֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq

I tore my garment [2]
and my robe; [1]
 
and I pulled out [4]
some of the hair of my head [3]
and my beard, [2]
 
and I sat down [2]
appalled. [1]
4 וְאֵלַ֣י יֵאָסְפ֗וּ [3] Revi'i
כֹּ֚ל [3] Yetiv
חָרֵד֙ [3] Pashta
בְּדִבְרֵ֣י אֱלֹהֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
עַ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
מַ֣עַל הַגּוֹלָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַאֲנִי֙ [3] Pashta
יֹשֵׁ֣ב מְשׁוֹמֵ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
עַ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
לְמִנְחַ֥ת הָעָֽרֶב׃ [1] Silluq

trembling [3]
at the words of the God of Israel, [2]
 
because of [2]
the unfaithfulness of the exiles; [1]
 
and I [3]
sat appalled [2]
 
until [2]
the evening offering. [1]
5 וּבְמִנְחַ֣ת הָעֶ֗רֶב [3] Revi'i
קַ֚מְתִּי [3] Yetiv
מִתַּֽעֲנִיתִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וּבְקׇרְעִ֥י בִגְדִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
וּמְעִילִ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וָֽאֶכְרְעָה֙ [3] Pashta
עַל־בִּרְכַּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וָאֶפְרְשָׂ֥ה כַפַּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָֽי׃ [1] Silluq

I arose [3]
from my humiliation, [2]
 
with my garment torn [2]
and my robe; [1]
 
and I bowed down [3]
on my knees, [2]
 
and I spread out my palms [2]
to the LORD my God, [1]
6 וָאֹמְרָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
אֱלֹהַי֙ [3] Pashta
בֹּ֣שְׁתִּי וְנִכְלַ֔מְתִּי [2] Zaqef
 
לְהָרִ֧ים אֱלֹהַ֛י [3] Tevir
פָּנַ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אֵלֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֣י עֲוֺנֹתֵ֤ינוּ רָבוּ֙ [3] Pashta
לְמַ֣עְלָה רֹּ֔אשׁ [2] Zaqef
 
וְאַשְׁמָתֵ֥נוּ גָדְלָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
עַ֥ד לַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq

“O my God, [3]
I am ashamed, and I am ashamed [2]
 
to lift up O my God [3]
my face [2]
to you; [1]
 
for our iniquities they have increased [3]
over our head, [2]
 
and our guilt it is great [2]
up to the heavens. [1]
7 מִימֵ֣י אֲבֹתֵ֗ינוּ [3] Revi'i

בְּאַשְׁמָ֣ה גְדֹלָ֔ה [2] Zaqef

וּבַעֲוֺנֹתֵ֡ינוּ [4] Pazer
נִתַּ֡נּוּ [4] Pazer
אֲנַ֩חְנוּ֩ מְלָכֵ֨ינוּ כֹהֲנֵ֜ינוּ [4] Geresh

מַלְכֵ֣י הָאֲרָצ֗וֹת [3] Revi'i
 
בַּחֶ֜רֶב [4] Geresh
בַּשְּׁבִ֧י וּבַבִּזָּ֛ה [3] Tevir
וּבְבֹ֥שֶׁת פָּנִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
 
כְּהַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq

have been exceedingly guilty [2]

and for our iniquities [4]
we have been given, [4]
we, our kings, our priests, [4]
into the hand [4]
of the kings of the lands, [3]
 
by the sword, [4]
by captivity and by plunder, [3]
and by shame of face, [2]
 
as it is this day. [1]

כִּמְעַט־רֶ֩גַע֩ הָיְתָ֨ה תְחִנָּ֜ה [4] Geresh
מֵאֵ֣ת ׀ [4] Legarmeh
יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ [3] Revi'i
 
לְהַשְׁאִ֥יר לָ֙נוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
פְּלֵיטָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְלָתֶת־לָ֥נוּ יָתֵ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
בִּמְק֣וֹם קׇדְשׁ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
לְהָאִ֤יר עֵינֵ֙ינוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וּלְתִתֵּ֛נוּ [3] Tevir
מִֽחְיָ֥ה מְעַ֖ט [2] Tip'cha
בְּעַבְדֻתֵֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq

for a little moment grace has come [4]

the LORD our God, [3]
 
to leave for us [3 3]
an escaped remnant, [2]
 
and to give to us a tent peg [2]
in his holy place; [1]
 
that (he) may light up our eyes, [3 3]
our God, [2]
 
and give to us [3]
a little reviving [2]
in our bondage. [1]
9 כִּֽי־עֲבָדִ֣ים אֲנַ֔חְנוּ [2] Zaqef
וּ֨בְעַבְדֻ֔תֵנוּ [2] Zaqef
לֹ֥א עֲזָבָ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha
אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וַֽיַּט־עָלֵ֣ינוּ חֶ֡סֶד [4] Pazer
לִפְנֵי֩ מַלְכֵ֨י פָרַ֜ס [4] Geresh
לָֽתֶת־לָ֣נוּ מִֽחְיָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
 
לְרוֹמֵ֞ם [4] Gershayim
אֶת־בֵּ֤ית אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
וּלְהַעֲמִ֣יד אֶת־חׇרְבֹתָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
וְלָֽתֶת־לָ֣נוּ גָדֵ֔ר [2] Zaqef
בִּֽיהוּדָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וּבִירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ [1] Silluq

yet in our bondage [2]
he has not forsaken us, [2]
our God; [1]
 
but he has extended to us lovingkindness [4]
before the kings of Persia [4]
by giving to us reviving, [3]
 
to raise up [4]
the house of our God, [3 3]
and to repair its ruins, [2]
 
and by giving to us a wall [2]
in Judah [2]
and in Jerusalem. [1]

מַה־נֹּאמַ֥ר אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
אַֽחֲרֵי־זֹ֑את [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֥י עָזַ֖בְנוּ [2] Tip'cha
מִצְוֺתֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq

For we have forsaken [2]
your commandments, [1]
11 אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּ֗יתָ [3] Revi'i
בְּיַ֨ד עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ הַנְּבִיאִים֮ [3] Zarqa
לֵאמֹר֒ [2] Segol
 
הָאָ֗רֶץ [3] Revi'i
אֲשֶׁ֨ר אַתֶּ֤ם בָּאִים֙ [3] Pashta
לְרִשְׁתָּ֔הּ [2] Zaqef
 
אֶ֤רֶץ נִדָּה֙ [3] Pashta
הִ֔יא [2] Zaqef
 
בְּנִדַּ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
עַמֵּ֣י הָאֲרָצ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
בְּתוֹעֲבֹֽתֵיהֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i
אֲשֶׁ֥ר מִלְא֛וּהָ [3] Tevir
מִפֶּ֥ה אֶל־פֶּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בְּטֻמְאָתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

‘The land, [3]
to which you go [3]
to take possession of it, [2]
 
is a land of impurity [3]

by their abominations, [3]
which have filled it [3]
from one end to another, [2]
with their uncleanness. [1]

וְלֹֽא־תִדְרְשׁ֧וּ שְׁלֹמָ֛ם [3] Tevir
וְטוֹבָתָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
עַד־עוֹלָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
לְמַ֣עַן תֶּחֶזְק֗וּ [3] Revi'i
וַאֲכַלְתֶּם֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־ט֣וּב הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
וְהוֹרַשְׁתֶּ֥ם לִבְנֵיכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

do not give to their sons, [3]
 
and their daughters [3]
do not take for your sons, [2]
 
and you must not seek their peace [3]
or their prosperity [2]

the good things of the land, [2]
 
and you will leave it as an inheritance to your sons [2]

וְנָתַ֥תָּה לָּ֛נוּ [3] Tevir
פְּלֵיטָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
כָּזֹֽאת׃ [1] Silluq

an escaped remnant [2]

וּ֨לְהִתְחַתֵּ֔ן [2] Zaqef
בְּעַמֵּ֥י הַתֹּעֵב֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
הָאֵ֑לֶּה [1] Etnachta
 
הֲל֤וֹא תֶֽאֱנַף־בָּ֙נוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
עַד־כַּלֵּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
לְאֵ֥ין שְׁאֵרִ֖ית [2] Tip'cha
וּפְלֵיטָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

to break your commandments, [2]
 
and to join ourselves [2]
with the peoples of the abominations [2]
these? [1]
 
Will you not be angry with us [3 3]
until (we are) consumed, [2]
 
so there will not be a remnant, [2]
nor any to escape? [1]

צַדִּ֣יק אַ֔תָּה [2] Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־נִשְׁאַ֥רְנוּ פְלֵיטָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
כְּהַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
הִנְנ֤וּ לְפָנֶ֙יךָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
בְּאַשְׁמָתֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֣י אֵ֥ין לַעֲמ֛וֹד [3] Tevir
לְפָנֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־זֹֽאת׃ [1] Silluq

you are righteous, [2]
 
for we are left an escaped remnant [2]
as it is this day. [1]
 
Here we are before you [3 3]
in our guilt, [2]
 
for no one can stand [3]
