עזרא 9 | Ezra 9 | |||
1 Now just as these things were finished, [3] the leaders drew near to me [3] saying, [2] the people of Israel, [3] and the priests and the Levites, [2] of the lands; [1] of the Canaanites, the Hittites, [4] the Perizzites, the Jebusites, [3] the Moabites, [2] and the Amorites. [1] |
|||
2 For they have taken some of their daughters [3] for themselves [3] and for their sons, [2] the holy offspring [2] of the lands; [1] it has been [3] in this unfaithfulness, [2] first.” [1] |
|||
3 And when I heard [3] this thing, [2] and my robe; [1] some of the hair of my head [3] and my beard, [2] appalled. [1] |
|||
4 And to me they gathered, [3] all [3] trembling [3] at the words of the God of Israel, [2] the unfaithfulness of the exiles; [1] sat appalled [2] the evening offering. [1] |
|||
5 And at the evening offering [3] I arose [3] from my humiliation, [2] and my robe; [1] on my knees, [2] to the LORD my God, [1] |
|||
6 and I said, [3] “O my God, [3] I am ashamed, and I am ashamed [2] my face [2] to you; [1] over our head, [2] up to the heavens. [1] |
|||
[2] Tip'cha |
7 Since the days of our fathers [3] we [3 3] have been exceedingly guilty [2] this day; [1] we have been given, [4] we, our kings, our priests, [4] into the hand [4] of the kings of the lands, [3] by captivity and by plunder, [3] and by shame of face, [2] |
|||
8 And now [4] for a little moment grace has come [4] from [4] the LORD our God, [3] an escaped remnant, [2] in his holy place; [1] our God, [2] a little reviving [2] in our bondage. [1] |
|||
9 For we are slaves, [2] yet in our bondage [2] he has not forsaken us, [2] our God; [1] before the kings of Persia [4] by giving to us reviving, [3] the house of our God, [3 3] and to repair its ruins, [2] in Judah [2] and in Jerusalem. [1] § |
|||
[1] Silluq |
10 “Now [3] what can we say O our God, [2] after this? [1] your commandments, [1] |

11 which you commanded [3] by the hand of your servants the prophets [3] saying, [2] to which you go [3] to take possession of it, [2] it, [2] of the peoples of the lands; [1] which have filled it [3] from one end to another, [2] with their uncleanness. [1] |
|||
12 Now therefore [4 4] your daughters [4] do not give to their sons, [3] do not take for your sons, [2] or their prosperity [2] forever; [1] and you will eat [3] the good things of the land, [2] forever.’ [1] |
|||
13 “And after [3] all that has come on us [2] evil [2] great; [1] you O our God, [3] than our iniquities deserve, [2] an escaped remnant [2] like this, [1] |
|||
14 shall we return [3] to break your commandments, [2] with the peoples of the abominations [2] these? [1] until (we are) consumed, [2] nor any to escape? [1] § |
|||
15 O LORD [4] the God of Israel, [3] you are righteous, [2] as it is this day. [1] in our guilt, [2] before you [2] because of this.” [1] ¶ |
