בראשית 15 | Genesis 15 | |||
1 After [4] these things [3] to Abram, [2] saying; [1] I [3] am your shield, [2] exceedingly great.” [1] |
2 And Abram said, [3] “Oh Lord GOD, [3] what will you give me, [2] remain childless; [1] he [2] is Eliezer of Damascus?” [1] |
3 And Abram said, [2] “Behold, to me [2] you have not given [2] children; [1] will inherit me.” [1] |
4 And behold, the word of the LORD came to him [3] saying, [2] this one; [1] one who will come from your own body, [2] he will be your heir.” [1] |
5 And he took him [4] outside, [3] “Look at the heavens, [3] and count [3] the stars, [2] to count them.” [1] “So shall be [2] your offspring.” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
6 And he believed [2] the LORD; [1] as righteousness. [1] |
7 And he said [2] to him; [1] who brought you out [3 3] from Ur-Kasdim, [2] this land, [2] to inherit it.” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
8 But he said; [1] how will I know [2] that I will inherit it?” [1] |
9 So he said to him, [3] “Bring me [3] a heifer three years old, [2] and a ram three years old; [1] and a young pigeon.” [1] |
10 And he brought him all these, [3] and he cut them [3] in the middle, [2] opposite the other; [1] he did not cut in half. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
11 Then birds of prey came down [2] on the carcasses; [1] Abram. [1] |
12 And when the sun [3 3] was going down, [2] fell on Abram; [1] great darkness [2] came over him. [1] |
13 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לְאַבְרָ֗ם [3] Revi'i כִּי־גֵ֣ר ׀ [4] Legarmeh יִהְיֶ֣ה זַרְעֲךָ֗ [3] Revi'i לֹ֣א לָהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef וְעִנּ֣וּ אֹתָ֑ם [1] Etnachta שָׁנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
13 And he said to Abram, [3] that foreigners [4] your offspring will be, [3] which is not their own, [2] and they will afflict them; [1] years. [1] |
14 But also the nation [3] which they serve, [2] I will judge; [1] with great wealth. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
15 You however, [3] you will go to your fathers [2] in peace; [1] at a good old age. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
16 And the fourth generation, [2] they will return here; [1] is the sin of the Amorites, [2] up to now.” [1] |
17 And when the sun [3 3] had set, [2] had fallen; [1] and a blazing torch, [2] between [2] the pieces. [1] |
18 On that day [3] the LORD made [3] with Abram, [2] a covenant saying; [1] I give [3 3] this land, [2] to the great river [2] the river Euphrates, [1] |

[1] Silluq |
19 [the land of] the Kenites [3] and the Kenizzites, [2] the Kadmonites, [1] |
