1 אַחַ֣ר ׀ [4] Legarmeh
הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֗לֶּה [3] Revi'i

הָיָ֤ה דְבַר־יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta

הַרְבֵּ֥ה מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 2 3 3 2 1 After [4]
these things [3]

the word of the LORD came [3]
to Abram, [2]

in a vision [2]
saying; [1]

“Do not be afraid, Oh Abram. [3]
I [3]
am your shield, [2]

your reward [2]
exceedingly great.” [1]
2 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אַבְרָ֗ם [3] Revi'i
אֲדֹנָ֤י יֱהֹוִה֙ [3] Pashta
מַה־תִּתֶּן־לִ֔י [2] Zaqef

וְאָנֹכִ֖י [2] Tip'cha

דַּמֶּ֥שֶׂק אֱלִיעֶֽזֶר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 2 2 And Abram said, [3]
“Oh Lord GOD, [3]
what will you give me, [2]

since I [2]

and the son who will inherit my household, [2]

“Behold, to me [2]

so behold, one born in my household [2]

1 2 3 2 2 3 2 4 And behold, the word of the LORD came to him [3]
saying, [2]

“He will not be your heir, [2]
this one; [1]

but [3]
one who will come from your own body, [2]

he, [2]
he will be your heir.” [1]
5 וַיּוֹצֵ֨א אֹת֜וֹ [4] Geresh
הַח֗וּצָה [3] Revi'i

וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ [3 3] Pashta

1 2 3 4 3 3 3 2 2 2 5 And he took him [4]
outside, [3]

and he said, [3 3]
“Look at the heavens, [3]
and count [3]
the stars, [2]

if you are able [2]
to count them.” [1]

Then he said to him, [2]
“So shall be [2]
your offspring.” [1]
6 וְהֶאֱמִ֖ן [2] Tip'cha

וַיַּחְשְׁבֶ֥הָ לּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
צְדָקָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 6 And he believed [2]
the LORD; [1]

and he credited it to him [2]

לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 3 2 3 7 And he said [2]
to him; [1]

“I am the LORD [3]
who brought you out [3 3]
from Ur-Kasdim, [2]

to give you [3]
this land, [2]

בַּמָּ֥ה אֵדַ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
כִּ֥י אִֽירָשֶֽׁנָּה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 8 But he said; [1]

“Oh Lord GOD, [2]
how will I know [2]

and he cut them [3]
in the middle, [2]

and he set each piece [2]
opposite the other; [1]

but the birds [2]
he did not cut in half. [1]
11 וַיֵּ֥רֶד הָעַ֖יִט [2] Tip'cha
עַל־הַפְּגָרִ֑ים [1] Etnachta

וַיַּשֵּׁ֥ב אֹתָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
אַבְרָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 11 Then birds of prey came down [2]
on the carcasses; [1]

but he drove them away, [2]
Abram. [1]
12 וַיְהִ֤י הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ [3 3] Pashta

1 2 3 2 2 3 12 And when the sun [3 3]
was going down, [2]

a deep sleep [2]
fell on Abram; [1]

and behold, a dreadful [3]
great darkness [2]
came over him. [1]
13 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לְאַבְרָ֗ם [3] Revi'i

1 2 3 2 15 You however, [3]
