| 1 וַיִּשָּׂ֥א יַעֲקֹ֖ב [2] Tip'cha רַגְלָ֑יו [1] Etnachta אַ֥רְצָה בְנֵי־קֶֽדֶם׃ [1] Silluq |
1 Then Jacob lifted up [2] his feet; [1] to the land of the children of the east. [1] |

| 2 וַיַּ֞רְא [4] Gershayim וְהִנֵּ֧ה בְאֵ֣ר בַּשָּׂדֶ֗ה [3] Revi'i שְׁלֹשָׁ֤ה עֶדְרֵי־צֹאן֙ [3] Pashta רֹבְצִ֣ים עָלֶ֔יהָ [2] Zaqef מִן־הַבְּאֵ֣ר הַהִ֔וא [2] Zaqef הָעֲדָרִ֑ים [1] Etnachta עַל־פִּ֥י הַבְּאֵֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
2 And he looked [4] and behold, a well in the field, [3] three flocks of sheep, [3] lying down at it, [2] out of that well [2] the flocks; [1] over the mouth of the well. [1] |

| 3 וְנֶאֶסְפוּ־שָׁ֣מָּה כׇל־הָעֲדָרִ֗ים [3] Revi'i וְגָלְל֤וּ אֶת־הָאֶ֙בֶן֙ [3 3] Pashta מֵעַל֙ [3] Pashta פִּ֣י הַבְּאֵ֔ר [2] Zaqef אֶת־הַצֹּ֑אן [1] Etnachta עַל־פִּ֥י הַבְּאֵ֖ר [2] Tip'cha לִמְקֹמָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
3 And all the flocks were gathered there, [3] and they rolled the stone [3 3] from over [3] the mouth of the well, [2] the sheep; [1] over the mouth of the well, [2] to its place. [1] |

| 4 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהֶם֙ [3] Pashta יַעֲקֹ֔ב [2] Zaqef מֵאַ֣יִן אַתֶּ֑ם [1] Etnachta מֵחָרָ֖ן [2] Tip'cha אֲנָֽחְנוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
4 And he said to them, [3] Jacob, [2] where are you from?” [1] “from Haran [2] are we.” [1] |

| 5 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef הַיְדַעְתֶּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha אֶת־לָבָ֣ן בֶּן־נָח֑וֹר [1] Etnachta יָדָֽעְנוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
5 And he said to them, [2] “Do you know [2] Laban the son of Nahor?” [1] “We know him.” [1] |

| 6 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר לָהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha הֲשָׁל֣וֹם ל֑וֹ [1] Etnachta רָחֵ֣ל בִּתּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef עִם־הַצֹּֽאן׃ [1] Silluq |
6 And he said to them, [2] “Is it well with him?” [1] Rachel his daughter [2] with the sheep.” [1] |

7 And he said, [3] “Behold it is still [3] the middle of the day, [2] to gather together the livestock. [1] and go pasture them.” [1] |

| 8 וַיֹּאמְרוּ֮ [3] Zarqa לֹ֣א נוּכַל֒ [2] Segol כׇּל־הָ֣עֲדָרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef אֶת־הָאֶ֔בֶן [2] Zaqef פִּ֣י הַבְּאֵ֑ר [1] Etnachta הַצֹּֽאן׃ [1] Silluq |
8 And they said, [3] “We can’t, [2] all the flocks, [2] the stone [2] the mouth of the well; [1] the sheep.” [1] |

| 9 עוֹדֶ֖נּוּ [2] Tip'cha מְדַבֵּ֣ר עִמָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta בָּ֗אָה [3] Revi'i אֲשֶׁ֣ר לְאָבִ֔יהָ [2] Zaqef הִֽוא׃ [1] Silluq |
9 While he was yet [2] speaking with them; [1] she came [3] which belonged to her father, [2] she was. [1] |

| 10 וַיְהִ֡י [4] Pazer כַּאֲשֶׁר֩ רָאָ֨ה יַעֲקֹ֜ב [4] Geresh אֶת־רָחֵ֗ל [3] Revi'i אֲחִ֣י אִמּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef אֲחִ֣י אִמּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta וַיָּ֤גֶל אֶת־הָאֶ֙בֶן֙ [3 3] Pashta מֵעַל֙ [3] Pashta פִּ֣י הַבְּאֵ֔ר [2] Zaqef אֶת־צֹ֥אן לָבָ֖ן [2] Tip'cha אֲחִ֥י אִמּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
10 And [4] when Jacob saw [4] Rachel, [3] the brother of his mother, [2] the brother of his mother; [1] and he rolled the stone [3 3] from over [3] the mouth of the well, [2] the flock of Laban [2] the brother of his mother. [1] |

11 And Jacob kissed [2] Rachel; [1] and he wept. [1] |

| 12 וַיַּגֵּ֨ד יַעֲקֹ֜ב [4] Geresh לְרָחֵ֗ל [3] Revi'i ה֔וּא [2] Zaqef ה֑וּא [1] Etnachta וַתַּגֵּ֥ד לְאָבִֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq |
12 And Jacob told [4] Rachel [3] he was, [2] he was; [1] and she told her father. [1] |

| 13 וַיְהִי֩ כִשְׁמֹ֨עַ לָבָ֜ן [4] Geresh אֶת־שֵׁ֣מַע ׀ [4] Legarmeh יַעֲקֹ֣ב בֶּן־אֲחֹת֗וֹ [3] Revi'i וַיְחַבֶּק־לוֹ֙ [3] Pashta וַיְנַשֶּׁק־ל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef אֶל־בֵּית֑וֹ [1] Etnachta אֵ֥ת כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ [1] Silluq |
13 And when Laban heard [4] the news [4] of Jacob the son of his sister, [3] and he embraced him [3] and he kissed him, [2] to his house; [1] all the things, [2] these. [1] |

| 14 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לוֹ֙ [3] Pashta לָבָ֔ן [2] Zaqef עַצְמִ֥י וּבְשָׂרִ֖י [2] Tip'cha אָ֑תָּה [1] Etnachta חֹ֥דֶשׁ יָמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
14 And he said to him, [3] Laban, [2] my bone and my flesh [2] you are.” [1] for a full month. [1] |

| 15 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָבָן֙ [3] Pashta לְיַעֲקֹ֔ב [2] Zaqef וַעֲבַדְתַּ֖נִי [2] Tip'cha חִנָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta מַה־מַּשְׂכֻּרְתֶּֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
15 And Laban said [3] to Jacob, [2] should you therefore serve me [2] for nothing? [1] what will be your wages?” [1] |

| 16 וּלְלָבָ֖ן [2] Tip'cha שְׁתֵּ֣י בָנ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta לֵאָ֔ה [2] Zaqef רָחֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq |
16 And Laban had [2] two daughters; [1] was Leah, [2] was Rachel. [1] |

| 17 וְעֵינֵ֥י לֵאָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha רַכּ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta הָֽיְתָ֔ה [2] Zaqef וִיפַ֥ת מַרְאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
17 And the eyes of Leah [2] were weak; [1] she was [2] and attractive. [1] |

| 18 וַיֶּאֱהַ֥ב יַעֲקֹ֖ב [2] Tip'cha אֶת־רָחֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta אֶֽעֱבׇדְךָ֙ [3] Pashta שֶׁ֣בַע שָׁנִ֔ים [2] Zaqef הַקְּטַנָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
18 And Jacob loved [2] Rachel; [1] “I will serve you [3] seven years [2] the younger.” [1] |

| 19 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָבָ֗ן [3] Revi'i ט֚וֹב [3] Yetiv תִּתִּ֣י אֹתָ֣הּ לָ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef לְאִ֣ישׁ אַחֵ֑ר [1] Etnachta עִמָּדִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
19 And Laban said, [3] “It is better [3] that I give her to you, [2] to another man. [1] with me.” [1] |

| 20 וַיַּעֲבֹ֧ד יַעֲקֹ֛ב [3] Tevir בְּרָחֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha שֶׁ֣בַע שָׁנִ֑ים [1] Etnachta כְּיָמִ֣ים אֲחָדִ֔ים [2] Zaqef אֹתָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
20 And Jacob served [3] for Rachel [2] seven years; [1] just a few days, [2] for her. [1] |

| 21 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יַעֲקֹ֤ב אֶל־לָבָן֙ [3] Pashta הָבָ֣ה אֶת־אִשְׁתִּ֔י [2] Zaqef יָמָ֑י [1] Etnachta אֵלֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq |
21 And Jacob said to Laban, [3] “Give me my wife, [2] my days; [1] to her.” [1] |

| 22 וַיֶּאֱסֹ֥ף לָבָ֛ן [3] Tevir אֶת־כׇּל־אַנְשֵׁ֥י הַמָּק֖וֹם [2] Tip'cha וַיַּ֥עַשׂ מִשְׁתֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
22 And Laban gathered together [3] all the people of the place, [2] and he prepared a feast. [1] |

| 23 וַיְהִ֣י בָעֶ֔רֶב [2] Zaqef אֶת־לֵאָ֣ה בִתּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef אֵלָ֑יו [1] Etnachta אֵלֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq |
23 And in the evening, [2] Leah his daughter, [2] to him; [1] to her. [1] |

| 24 וַיִּתֵּ֤ן לָבָן֙ [3] Pashta לָ֔הּ [2] Zaqef שִׁפְחָת֑וֹ [1] Etnachta שִׁפְחָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
24 And Laban had given [3] to her [2] his servant; [1] a servant. [1] |

| 25 וַיְהִ֣י בַבֹּ֔קֶר [2] Zaqef וְהִנֵּה־הִ֖וא [2] Tip'cha לֵאָ֑ה [1] Etnachta מַה־זֹּאת֙ [3] Pashta עָשִׂ֣יתָ לִּ֔י [2] Zaqef עָבַ֣דְתִּי עִמָּ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef רִמִּיתָֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq |
25 And in the morning, [2] behold, she was [2] Leah! [1] “What is this [3] you have done to me? [2] I have served with you? [2] have you deceived me?” [1] |

| 26 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָבָ֔ן [2] Zaqef לֹא־יֵעָשֶׂ֥ה כֵ֖ן [2] Tip'cha בִּמְקוֹמֵ֑נוּ [1] Etnachta לִפְנֵ֥י הַבְּכִירָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
26 And Laban said, [2] “It is not done so [2] in our place; [1] before the firstborn. [1] |

| 27 מַלֵּ֖א [2] Tip'cha שְׁבֻ֣עַ זֹ֑את [1] Etnachta גַּם־אֶת־זֹ֗את [3] Revi'i אֲשֶׁ֣ר תַּעֲבֹ֣ד עִמָּדִ֔י [2] Zaqef שֶֽׁבַע־שָׁנִ֥ים אֲחֵרֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq |
27 Complete [2] the week of this one; [1] the other also [3] which you will serve with me, [2] another seven years.” [1] |

| 28 וַיַּ֤עַשׂ יַעֲקֹב֙ [3] Pashta כֵּ֔ן [2] Zaqef שְׁבֻ֣עַ זֹ֑את [1] Etnachta אֶת־רָחֵ֥ל בִּתּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha ל֥וֹ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq |
28 And Jacob did [3] so, [2] the week of this one; [1] Rachel his daughter [2] as his wife. [1] |

| 29 וַיִּתֵּ֤ן לָבָן֙ [3] Pashta לְרָחֵ֣ל בִּתּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef שִׁפְחָת֑וֹ [1] Etnachta לְשִׁפְחָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
29 And Laban gave [3] to Rachel his daughter, [2] his servant; [1] (her) servant to be. [1] |

| 30 וַיָּבֹא֙ [3] Pashta גַּ֣ם אֶל־רָחֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef מִלֵּאָ֑ה [1] Etnachta ע֖וֹד [2] Tip'cha שֶֽׁבַע־שָׁנִ֥ים אֲחֵרֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq |
30 And he went in [3] also to Rachel, [2] more than Leah; [1] again [2] seven more years. [1] |

| 31 וַיַּ֤רְא יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta כִּֽי־שְׂנוּאָ֣ה לֵאָ֔ה [2] Zaqef אֶת־רַחְמָ֑הּ [1] Etnachta עֲקָרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
31 And the LORD saw [3] that Leah was hated, [2] her womb; [1] was barren. [1] |

| 32 וַתַּ֤הַר לֵאָה֙ [3] Pashta וַתֵּ֣לֶד בֵּ֔ן [2] Zaqef רְאוּבֵ֑ן [1] Etnachta כִּֽי־רָאָ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta בְּעׇנְיִ֔י [2] Zaqef יֶאֱהָבַ֥נִי אִישִֽׁי׃ [1] Silluq |
32 And Leah conceived [3] and she bore a son, [2] Reuben; [1] “Because the LORD has looked [3] on my affliction, [2] my husband will love me.” [1] |

| 33 וַתַּ֣הַר עוֹד֮ [3] Zarqa וַתֵּ֣לֶד בֵּן֒ [2] Segol כִּֽי־שָׁמַ֤ע יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta כִּֽי־שְׂנוּאָ֣ה אָנֹ֔כִי [2] Zaqef גַּם־אֶת־זֶ֑ה [1] Etnachta שִׁמְעֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq |
33 And she conceived again [3] and she bore a son, [2] “Because the LORD has heard [3] that I am hated, [2] this son also.” [1] Simeon. [1] |

| 34 וַתַּ֣הַר עוֹד֮ [3] Zarqa וַתֵּ֣לֶד בֵּן֒ [2] Segol עַתָּ֤ה הַפַּ֙עַם֙ [3 3] Pashta יִלָּוֶ֤ה אִישִׁי֙ [3] Pashta אֵלַ֔י [2] Zaqef שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה בָנִ֑ים [1] Etnachta לֵוִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
34 And she conceived again [3] and she bore a son, [2] “Now this time [3 3] my husband will join himself [3] to me, [2] three sons.” [1] Levi. [1] |

| 35 וַתַּ֨הַר ע֜וֹד [4] Geresh וַתֵּ֣לֶד בֵּ֗ן [3] Revi'i הַפַּ֙עַם֙ [3 3] Pashta אוֹדֶ֣ה אֶת־יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef קָרְאָ֥ה שְׁמ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha יְהוּדָ֑ה [1] Etnachta מִלֶּֽדֶת׃ [1] Silluq |
35 And she conceived again [4] and she bore a son, [3] “This time [3 3] I will praise the LORD.” [2] she called his name [2] Judah. [1] from bearing children. [1] |
