1 When Rachel saw [3] that she had borne no children [3] to Jacob, [2] of her sister; [1] “Give me children, [2] I will die.” [1] |

2 And the anger of Jacob burned [2] against Rachel; [1] “In God’s place [3] am I, [2] the fruit of the womb?” [1] |

3 And she said, [2] my maid Bilhah, [2] go in to her; [1] on my knees, [2] by her.” [1] |

4 And she gave to him [3] Bilhah her servant [2] as wife; [1] Jacob. [1] |

5 And Bilhah conceived, [2] and she bore to Jacob [2] a son. [1] |

6 And Rachel said, [3] “God has vindicated me, [2] he has listened to my voice, [2] a son.” [1] she called his name [2] Dan. [1] |

7 And she conceived again [2] and she bore, [2] Bilhah [2] the servant of Rachel; [1] to Jacob. [1] |

8 And Rachel said, [3] “Wrestlings of God I have wrestled [3] with my sister, [2] and I have prevailed.” [1] Naphtali. [1] |

9 When Leah saw [2] that she had stopped [2] from bearing children; [1] Zilpah her servant, [2] to Jacob [2] as a wife. [1] |

10 And she bore, [3] Zilpah [3] the servant of Leah, [2] to Jacob a son. [1] |

| 11 וַתֹּ֥אמֶר לֵאָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha *בגד **בָּ֣א **גָ֑ד [1] Etnachta גָּֽד׃ [1] Silluq |
11 And Leah said, [2] “Good fortune has come!” [1] Gad. [1] |

| 12 וַתֵּ֗לֶד [3] Revi'i זִלְפָּה֙ [3] Pashta שִׁפְחַ֣ת לֵאָ֔ה [2] Zaqef לְיַעֲקֹֽב׃ [1] Silluq |
12 And she bore, [3] Zilpah [3] the servant of Leah, [2] to Jacob. [1] |

| 13 וַתֹּ֣אמֶר לֵאָ֔ה [2] Zaqef בְּאׇשְׁרִ֕י [2] ZaqefG כִּ֥י אִשְּׁר֖וּנִי [2] Tip'cha בָּנ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta אָשֵֽׁר׃ [1] Silluq |
13 And Leah said, [2] “Happy am I, [2] for they will call me happy, [2] the daughters.” [1] Asher. [1] |

| 14 וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ רְאוּבֵ֜ן [4] Geresh בִּימֵ֣י קְצִיר־חִטִּ֗ים [3] Revi'i בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה [2] Zaqef אֶל־לֵאָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha אִמּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta אֶל־לֵאָ֔ה [2] Zaqef מִדּוּדָאֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha בְּנֵֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq |
14 And Reuben went [4] in the days of the harvest of wheat, [3] in the field, [2] to Leah [2] his mother; [1] to Leah, [2] some of the mandrakes [2] of your son.” [1] |

| 15 וַתֹּ֣אמֶר לָ֗הּ [3] Revi'i הַמְעַט֙ [3] Pashta קַחְתֵּ֣ךְ אֶת־אִישִׁ֔י [2] Zaqef גַּ֥ם אֶת־דּוּדָאֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha בְּנִ֑י [1] Etnachta לָכֵן֙ [3] Pashta יִשְׁכַּ֤ב עִמָּךְ֙ [3] Pashta הַלַּ֔יְלָה [2] Zaqef דּוּדָאֵ֥י בְנֵֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq |
15 And she said to her, [3] “A small matter [3] your taking my husband, [2] also the mandrakes [2] of my son?” [1] “Therefore [3] he will lie with you [3] tonight, [2] the mandrakes of your son.” [1] |

| 16 וַיָּבֹ֨א יַעֲקֹ֣ב מִן־הַשָּׂדֶה֮ [3] Zarqa בָּעֶ֒רֶב֒ [2 2] Segol לִקְרָאת֗וֹ [3] Revi'i אֵלַ֣י תָּב֔וֹא [2] Zaqef שָׂכֹ֣ר שְׂכַרְתִּ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef בְּנִ֑י [1] Etnachta בַּלַּ֥יְלָה הֽוּא׃ [1] Silluq |
16 And Jacob came from the field [3] in the evening, [2 2] to meet him, [3] “You must come in to me, [2] I have surely hired you [2] of my son.” [1] that night. [1] |

| 17 וַיִּשְׁמַ֥ע אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha אֶל־לֵאָ֑ה [1] Etnachta וַתֵּ֥לֶד לְיַעֲקֹ֖ב [2] Tip'cha בֵּ֥ן חֲמִישִֽׁי׃ [1] Silluq |
17 And God listened [2] to Leah; [1] and she bore to Jacob, [2] a fifth son. [1] |

| 18 וַתֹּ֣אמֶר לֵאָ֗ה [3] Revi'i נָתַ֤ן אֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Pashta שְׂכָרִ֔י [2] Zaqef לְאִישִׁ֑י [1] Etnachta יִשָּׂשכָֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
18 And Leah said, [3] “God has given [3] my reward, [2] to my husband.” [1] Issachar. [1] |

| 19 וַתַּ֤הַר עוֹד֙ [3] Pashta לֵאָ֔ה [2] Zaqef לְיַעֲקֹֽב׃ [1] Silluq |
19 And she conceived again, [3] Leah, [2] to Jacob. [1] |

| 20 וַתֹּ֣אמֶר לֵאָ֗ה [3] Revi'i זְבָדַ֨נִי אֱלֹהִ֥ים ׀ אֹתִי֮ [3] Zarqa זֵ֣בֶד טוֹב֒ [2] Segol יִזְבְּלֵ֣נִי אִישִׁ֔י [2] Zaqef שִׁשָּׁ֣ה בָנִ֑ים [1] Etnachta זְבֻלֽוּן׃ [1] Silluq |
20 And Leah said, [3] “God has endowed me [3] with a good dowry. [2] my husband will honor me, [2] six sons.” [1] Zebulun. [1] |

21 Afterwards [2] she bore a daughter; [1] Dinah. [1] |

| 22 וַיִּזְכֹּ֥ר אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha אֶת־רָחֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta אֱלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef אֶת־רַחְמָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
22 And God remembered [2] Rachel; [1] God, [2] her womb. [1] |

| 23 וַתַּ֖הַר [2] Tip'cha וַתֵּ֣לֶד בֵּ֑ן [1] Etnachta אָסַ֥ף אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha אֶת־חֶרְפָּתִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
23 And she conceived [2] and she bore a son; [1] “God has taken away [2] my reproach.” [1] |

| 24 וַתִּקְרָ֧א אֶת־שְׁמ֛וֹ [3] Tevir יוֹסֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta לִ֖י [2] Tip'cha בֵּ֥ן אַחֵֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
24 And she called his name [3] Joseph, [2] saying; [1] to me [2] another son.” [1] |

| 25 וַיְהִ֕י [2] ZaqefG יָלְדָ֥ה רָחֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha אֶת־יוֹסֵ֑ף [1] Etnachta אֶל־לָבָ֔ן [2] Zaqef וְאֵ֣לְכָ֔ה [2] Zaqef וּלְאַרְצִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
25 And then, [2] Rachel had borne [2] Joseph; [1] to Laban, [2] that I may go [2] and to my country. [1] |

| 26 תְּנָ֞ה [4] Gershayim אֶת־נָשַׁ֣י וְאֶת־יְלָדַ֗י [3] Revi'i בָּהֵ֖ן [2] Tip'cha אַתָּ֣ה יָדַ֔עְתָּ [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁ֥ר עֲבַדְתִּֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
26 Give [4] my wives and my children, [3] for them, [2] you, you know [2] which I have served you.” [1] |

| 27 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלָיו֙ [3] Pashta לָבָ֔ן [2] Zaqef מָצָ֥אתִי חֵ֖ן [2] Tip'cha בְּעֵינֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta וַיְבָרְכֵ֥נִי יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha בִּגְלָלֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
27 But he said to him, [3] Laban, [2] I have found favor [2] in your eyes [please stay.] [1] that the LORD has blessed me [2] for your sake.” [1] |

28 And he said; [1] from me, [2] and I will give it.” [1] |

| 29 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֔יו [2] Zaqef אַתָּ֣ה יָדַ֔עְתָּ [2] Zaqef אֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha אֲשֶׁ֣ר עֲבַדְתִּ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta אֲשֶׁר־הָיָ֥ה מִקְנְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha אִתִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
29 And he said to him, [2] “You, you know [2] -- [2] how I have served you; [1] how your livestock have fared [2] with me. [1] |

| 30 כִּ֡י [4] Pazer מְעַט֩ אֲשֶׁר־הָיָ֨ה לְךָ֤ לְפָנַי֙ [3] Pashta וַיִּפְרֹ֣ץ לָרֹ֔ב [2] Zaqef אֹתְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha לְרַגְלִ֑י [1] Etnachta מָתַ֛י [3] Tevir אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֥ה גַם־אָנֹכִ֖י [2] Tip'cha לְבֵיתִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
30 For [4] it was little which you had before I came, [3] and it has increased to abundance, [2] you [2] wherever I set my foot; [1] when [3] will I also provide [2] for my own household?” [1] |

| 31 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha מָ֣ה אֶתֶּן־לָ֑ךְ [1] Etnachta לֹא־תִתֶּן־לִ֣י מְא֔וּמָה [2] Zaqef הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef אֶרְעֶ֥ה צֹֽאנְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha אֶשְׁמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
31 And he said, [2] “What shall I give to you?” [1] “You shall not give me anything. [2] this thing, [2] I will tend your flock, [2] I will protect it. [1] |

| 32 אֶֽעֱבֹ֨ר בְּכׇל־צֹֽאנְךָ֜ [4] Geresh הַיּ֗וֹם [3] Revi'i כׇּל־שֶׂ֣ה ׀ [4] Legarmeh נָקֹ֣ד וְטָל֗וּא [3] Revi'i בַּכְּשָׂבִ֔ים [2] Zaqef בָּעִזִּ֑ים [1] Etnachta שְׂכָרִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
32 Let me pass through all your flock [4] today. [3] every sheep [4] speckled and spotted, [3] among the lambs, [2] among the goats; [1] my wages. [1] |

| 33 וְעָֽנְתָה־בִּ֤י צִדְקָתִי֙ [3] Pashta בְּי֣וֹם מָחָ֔ר [2] Zaqef לְפָנֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta בָּֽעִזִּ֗ים [3] Revi'i בַּכְּשָׂבִ֔ים [2] Zaqef אִתִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
33 So my righteousness will testify for me [3] in future days [2] before you. [1] among the goats, [3] among the sheep, [2] with me.” [1] |

34 And Laban said, [2] “Behold; [1] let it be according to your word.” [1] |

| 35 וַיָּ֣סַר בַּיּוֹם֩ הַה֨וּא אֶת־הַתְּיָשִׁ֜ים [4] Geresh הָֽעֲקֻדִּ֣ים וְהַטְּלֻאִ֗ים [3] Revi'i הַנְּקֻדּ֣וֹת וְהַטְּלֻאֹ֔ת [2] Zaqef בּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef בַּכְּשָׂבִ֑ים [1] Etnachta בְּיַד־בָּנָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq |
35 And he removed on that day the male goats [4] striped and spotted, [3] speckled and spotted, [2] on it, [2] among the lambs; [1] into the hand of his sons. [1] |

| 36 וַיָּ֗שֶׂם [3] Revi'i דֶּ֚רֶךְ [3] Yetiv שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֔ים [2] Zaqef וּבֵ֣ין יַעֲקֹ֑ב [1] Etnachta רֹעֶ֛ה [3] Tevir אֶת־צֹ֥אן לָבָ֖ן [2] Tip'cha הַנּוֹתָרֹֽת׃ [1] Silluq |
36 And he put [3] a journey [3] of three days [2] and Jacob; [1] pastured [3] the flock of Laban [2] which remained. [1] |

| 37 וַיִּֽקַּֽח־ל֣וֹ יַעֲקֹ֗ב [3] Revi'i מַקַּ֥ל לִבְנֶ֛ה [3] Tevir לַ֖ח [2] Tip'cha וְל֣וּז וְעַרְמ֑וֹן [1] Etnachta פְּצָל֣וֹת לְבָנ֔וֹת [2] Zaqef הַלָּבָ֔ן [2] Zaqef עַל־הַמַּקְלֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq |
37 Then Jacob took [3] branches of poplar [3] freshly cut, [2] and almond and plane tree; [1] white stripes, [2] the white wood [2] was in the branches. [1] |

| 38 וַיַּצֵּ֗ג [3] Revi'i אֶת־הַמַּקְלוֹת֙ [3] Pashta אֲשֶׁ֣ר פִּצֵּ֔ל [2] Zaqef בְּשִֽׁקְת֣וֹת הַמָּ֑יִם [1] Etnachta לְנֹ֣כַח הַצֹּ֔אן [2] Zaqef בְּבֹאָ֥ן לִשְׁתּֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq |
38 And he placed [3] the branches [3] which he had stripped [2] in the watering channels of the water; [1] at the front of the flock, [2] when they came to drink. [1] |

| 39 וַיֶּחֱמ֥וּ הַצֹּ֖אן [2] Tip'cha אֶל־הַמַּקְל֑וֹת [1] Etnachta עֲקֻדִּ֥ים נְקֻדִּ֖ים [2] Tip'cha וּטְלֻאִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
39 And the flock mated [2] before the branches; [1] striped, speckled, [2] and spotted. [1] |

| 40 וְהַכְּשָׂבִים֮ [3] Zarqa הִפְרִ֣יד יַעֲקֹב֒ [2] Segol פְּנֵ֨י הַצֹּ֧אן אֶל־עָקֹ֛ד [3] Tevir וְכׇל־ח֖וּם [2] Tip'cha בְּצֹ֣אן לָבָ֑ן [1] Etnachta לְבַדּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef עַל־צֹ֥אן לָבָֽן׃ [1] Silluq |
40 And the lambs [3] Jacob separated, [2] the faces of the flock toward the striped, [3] and every dark one, [2] among the flock of Laban; [1] set apart for himself, [2] with the flock of Laban. [1] |

| 41 וְהָיָ֗ה [3] Revi'i בְּכׇל־יַחֵם֮ [3] Zarqa הַצֹּ֣אן הַמְקֻשָּׁרוֹת֒ [2] Segol לְעֵינֵ֥י הַצֹּ֖אן [2] Tip'cha בָּרְהָטִ֑ים [1] Etnachta בַּמַּקְלֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq |
41 And [3] whenever were mating [3] the stronger of the sheep, [2] before the eyes of the sheep [2] in the drinking troughs; [1] at the branches, [1] |

| 42 וּבְהַעֲטִ֥יף הַצֹּ֖אן [2] Tip'cha לֹ֣א יָשִׂ֑ים [1] Etnachta לְלָבָ֔ן [2] Zaqef לְיַעֲקֹֽב׃ [1] Silluq |
42 but when the sheep were feeble [2] he didn’t put them out; [1] were Laban’s, [2] Jacob’s. [1] |
