1 וַיִּשָּׂ֨א יַעֲקֹ֜ב [4] Geresh
עֵינָ֗יו [3] Revi'i
 
וַיַּרְא֙ [3] Pashta
וְהִנֵּ֣ה עֵשָׂ֣ו בָּ֔א [2] Zaqef
 
וְעִמּ֕וֹ [2] ZaqefG
אַרְבַּ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
אִ֑ישׁ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּ֣חַץ אֶת־הַיְלָדִ֗ים [3] Revi'i
עַל־לֵאָה֙ [3] Pashta
וְעַל־רָחֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
וְעַ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
שְׁתֵּ֥י הַשְּׁפָחֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq

his eyes, [3]
 
and he looked [3]
and behold, Esau was coming, [2]
 
and with him [2]
four hundred [2]
men; [1]
 
and he divided the children [3]
between Leah [3]
and Rachel, [2]
 
and [2]
the two servants. [1]
2 וַיָּ֧שֶׂם אֶת־הַשְּׁפָח֛וֹת [3] Tevir
וְאֶת־יַלְדֵיהֶ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
רִֽאשֹׁנָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֶת־לֵאָ֤ה וִֽילָדֶ֙יהָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אַחֲרֹנִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶת־רָחֵ֥ל וְאֶת־יוֹסֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha
אַחֲרֹנִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

and their children [2]
first; [1]
 
and Leah and her children [3 3]
behind, [2]
 
and Rachel and Joseph [2]
behind. [1]
3 וְה֖וּא [2] Tip'cha
עָבַ֣ר לִפְנֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּשְׁתַּ֤חוּ אַ֙רְצָה֙ [3 3] Pashta
שֶׁ֣בַע פְּעָמִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
עַד־גִּשְׁתּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
עַד־אָחִֽיו׃ [1] Silluq

he passed over in front of them; [1]
 
and he bowed down to the ground [3 3]
seven times, [2]
 
until he came near [2]
to his brother. [1]
4 וַיָּ֨רׇץ עֵשָׂ֤ו לִקְרָאתוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
וַֽיְחַבְּקֵ֔הוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּפֹּ֥ל עַל־צַוָּארָ֖ו [2] Tip'cha
וַׄיִּׄשָּׁׄקֵ֑ׄהׄוּׄ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּבְכּֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq

and he embraced him, [2]
 
and he fell on his neck [2]
and he kissed him; [1]
 
and they wept. [1]
5 וַיִּשָּׂ֣א אֶת־עֵינָ֗יו [3] Revi'i
וַיַּ֤רְא אֶת־הַנָּשִׁים֙ [3] Pashta
וְאֶת־הַיְלָדִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha
מִי־אֵ֣לֶּה לָּ֑ךְ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּאמַ֕ר [2] ZaqefG
הַיְלָדִ֕ים [2] ZaqefG
אֲשֶׁר־חָנַ֥ן אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq

and he saw the women [3]
and the children, [2]
 
and he said, [2]
“Who are these with you?” [1]
 
And he said, [2]
“The children [2]
whom God has graciously given to [2]
your servant.” [1]
6 וַתִּגַּ֧שְׁןָ הַשְּׁפָח֛וֹת [3] Tevir
הֵ֥נָּה וְיַלְדֵיהֶ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
וַתִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶֽיןָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 6 Then the servants came near, [3]
they and their children, [2]
and they bowed down. [1]
7 וַתִּגַּ֧שׁ גַּם־לֵאָ֛ה [3] Tevir
וִילָדֶ֖יהָ [2] Tip'cha
וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֑וּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְאַחַ֗ר [3] Revi'i
נִגַּ֥שׁ יוֹסֵ֛ף [3] Tevir
וְרָחֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq

and her children, [2]
and they bowed down; [1]
 
and then [3]
Joseph came near [3]
and Rachel, [2]
and they bowed down. [1]
8 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר [2] ZaqefG
 
מִ֥י לְךָ֛ [3] Tevir
כׇּל־הַמַּחֲנֶ֥ה הַזֶּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁ֣ר פָּגָ֑שְׁתִּי [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֕אמֶר [2] ZaqefG
לִמְצֹא־חֵ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
בְּעֵינֵ֥י אֲדֹנִֽי׃ [1] Silluq

“What do you mean by [3]
all this company [2]
which I have met?” [1]
 
And he said, [2]
“To find favor [2]
in the sight of my lord.” [1]
9 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר עֵשָׂ֖ו [2] Tip'cha
יֶשׁ־לִ֣י רָ֑ב [1] Etnachta
 
אָחִ֕י [2] ZaqefG
יְהִ֥י לְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁר־לָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 9 And Esau said, [2]
“I have enough; [1]
 
my brother, [2]
let it be yours [2]
that which is yours.” [1]
10 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יַעֲקֹ֗ב [3] Revi'i
אַל־נָא֙ [3] Pashta
אִם־נָ֨א מָצָ֤אתִי חֵן֙ [3] Pashta
בְּעֵינֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef
 
וְלָקַחְתָּ֥ מִנְחָתִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
מִיָּדִ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֣י עַל־כֵּ֞ן [4] Gershayim
רָאִ֣יתִי פָנֶ֗יךָ [3] Revi'i
 
כִּרְאֹ֛ת [3] Tevir
פְּנֵ֥י אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
 
וַתִּרְצֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq

“No, please, [3]
if I have now found favor [3]
in your sight, [2]
 
then accept my gift [2]
from my hand; [1]
 
because [4]
I have seen your face, [3]
 
like seeing [3]
the face of God, [2]
 
and you have accepted me favorably. [1]
11 קַח־נָ֤א אֶת־בִּרְכָתִי֙ [3] Pashta
אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֻבָ֣את לָ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־חַנַּ֥נִי אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וְכִ֣י יֶשׁ־לִי־כֹ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּפְצַר־בּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
וַיִּקָּֽח׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 11 Please take my blessing [3]
which was brought to you, [2]
 
because God has been gracious to me [2]
and I have enough.” [1]
 
And he urged him, [2]
and he took it. [1]
12 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha
נִסְעָ֣ה וְנֵלֵ֑כָה [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֵלְכָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לְנֶגְדֶּֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 12 And he said, [2]
“Let’s set out and be on our way; [1]
 
and I will go [2]
before you.” [1]
13 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֗יו [3] Revi'i
אֲדֹנִ֤י יֹדֵ֙עַ֙ [3 3] Pashta
כִּֽי־הַיְלָדִ֣ים רַכִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וְהַצֹּ֥אן וְהַבָּקָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
עָל֣וֹת עָלָ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וּדְפָקוּם֙ [3] Pashta
י֣וֹם אֶחָ֔ד [2] Zaqef
 
וָמֵ֖תוּ [2] Tip'cha
כׇּל־הַצֹּֽאן׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 3 2 13 And he said to him, [3]
“My lord knows [3 3]
that the children are tender, [2]
 
and that the sheep and the cattle [2]
with me have their young; [1]
 
and if they are overdriven [3]
one day, [2]
 
they will die, [2]
all the flock. [1]
14 יַעֲבׇר־נָ֥א אֲדֹנִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
לִפְנֵ֣י עַבְדּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וַאֲנִ֞י [4] Gershayim
אֶֽתְנָהֲלָ֣ה לְאִטִּ֗י [3] Revi'i
 
לְרֶ֨גֶל הַמְּלָאכָ֤ה אֲשֶׁר־לְפָנַי֙ [3] Pashta
וּלְרֶ֣גֶל הַיְלָדִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
עַ֛ד [3] Tevir
אֲשֶׁר־אָבֹ֥א אֶל־אֲדֹנִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
שֵׂעִֽירָה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 4 3 2 3 14 Please let my lord pass over [2]
before his servant; [1]
 
and I, [4]
I will lead on gently, [3]
 
at the pace of the livestock which are before me [3]
and at the pace of the children, [2]
 
until [3]
I come to my lord [2]
to Seir.” [1]
15 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר עֵשָׂ֔ו [2] Zaqef
אַצִּֽיגָה־נָּ֣א עִמְּךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
מִן־הָעָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתִּ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ [3 3] Pashta
לָ֣מָּה זֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
אֶמְצָא־חֵ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
בְּעֵינֵ֥י אֲדֹנִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 3 2 15 And Esau said, [2]
“Let me now leave with you [2]
some of the people [2]
who are with me.” [1]
 
And he said, [3 3]
“Why this? [2]
 
Let me find favor [2]
in the sight of my lord.” [1]
16 וַיָּ֩שׇׁב֩ בַּיּ֨וֹם הַה֥וּא עֵשָׂ֛ו [3] Tevir
לְדַרְכּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
שֵׂעִֽירָה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 16 So Esau returned that day [3]
on his way [2]
to Seir. [1]
17 וְיַעֲקֹב֙ [3] Pashta
נָסַ֣ע סֻכֹּ֔תָה [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּ֥בֶן ל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
בָּ֑יִת [1] Etnachta
 
וּלְמִקְנֵ֙הוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
עָשָׂ֣ה סֻכֹּ֔ת [2] Zaqef
 
עַל־כֵּ֛ן [3] Tevir
קָרָ֥א שֵׁם־הַמָּק֖וֹם [2] Tip'cha
סֻכּֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq

he set out toward Succoth, [2]
 
and he built for himself [2]
a house; [1]
 
and for his livestock [3 3]
he made shelters, [2]
 
therefore [3]
he called the name of the place, [2]
Succoth. [1]

18 וַיָּבֹא֩ יַעֲקֹ֨ב שָׁלֵ֜ם [4] Geresh
עִ֣יר שְׁכֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i
 
אֲשֶׁר֙ [3] Pashta
בְּאֶ֣רֶץ כְּנַ֔עַן [2] Zaqef
 
בְּבֹא֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
מִפַּדַּ֣ן אֲרָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּ֖חַן [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־פְּנֵ֥י הָעִֽיר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 2 18 And Jacob came in peace [4]
to the city of Shechem, [3]
 
which [3]
is in the land of Canaan, [2]
 
when he came [2]
from Paddan Aram; [1]
 
and he camped [2]
before the city. [1]
19 וַיִּ֜קֶן [4] Geresh
אֶת־חֶלְקַ֣ת הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה [3] Revi'i
 
אֲשֶׁ֤ר נָֽטָה־שָׁם֙ [3] Pashta
אׇהֳל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
מִיַּ֥ד בְּנֵֽי־חֲמ֖וֹר [2] Tip'cha
אֲבִ֣י שְׁכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
בְּמֵאָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
קְשִׂיטָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 2 19 And he bought [4]
the portion of the field [3]
 
where he had pitched there [3]
his tent, [2]
 
from the hand of the sons of Hamor, [2]
the father of Shechem; [1]
 
for a hundred [2]
pieces of money. [1]
20 וַיַּצֶּב־שָׁ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
מִזְבֵּ֑חַ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּ֨קְרָא־ל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
אֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq
