| 1 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Pashta אֶֽל־יַעֲקֹ֔ב [2] Zaqef עֲלֵ֥ה בֵֽית־אֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha וְשֶׁב־שָׁ֑ם [1] Etnachta הַנִּרְאֶ֣ה אֵלֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef מִפְּנֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha עֵשָׂ֥ו אָחִֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
1 And God said [3] to Jacob, [2] go up to Bethel, [2] and live there; [1] who appeared to you [2] from before [2] Esau your brother.” [1] |

| 2 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יַעֲקֹב֙ [3] Pashta אֶל־בֵּית֔וֹ [2] Zaqef כׇּל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר עִמּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta אֶת־אֱלֹהֵ֤י הַנֵּכָר֙ [3] Pashta אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּתֹכְכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef וְהַחֲלִ֖יפוּ [2] Tip'cha שִׂמְלֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
2 Then Jacob said [3] to his household, [2] all who were with him; [1] the foreign gods [3] that are among you, [2] and change [2] your garments. [1] |

3 And let us arise and let us go up [2] to Bethel; [1] who answered me [3] in the day of my distress, [2] with me [2] which I have gone.” [1] |

| 4 וַיִּתְּנ֣וּ אֶֽל־יַעֲקֹ֗ב [3] Revi'i אֵ֣ת כׇּל־אֱלֹהֵ֤י הַנֵּכָר֙ [3] Pashta אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּיָדָ֔ם [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּאׇזְנֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta יַעֲקֹ֔ב [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁ֥ר עִם־שְׁכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
4 And they gave to Jacob [3] all the foreign gods [3] which were in their hands, [2] which were in their ears; [1] Jacob, [2] which was near Shechem. [1] |

5 And they set out; [1] the terror of God, [3] which [3] were around them, [2] after [2] the sons of Jacob. [1] |

| 6 וַיָּבֹ֨א יַעֲקֹ֜ב [4] Geresh ל֗וּזָה [3] Revi'i בְּאֶ֣רֶץ כְּנַ֔עַן [2] Zaqef בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta וְכׇל־הָעָ֥ם אֲשֶׁר־עִמּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
6 So Jacob came [4] to Luz, [3] is in the land of Canaan, [2] Bethel; [1] and all the people who were with him. [1] |

| 7 וַיִּ֤בֶן שָׁם֙ [3] Pashta מִזְבֵּ֔חַ [2] Zaqef לַמָּק֔וֹם [2] Zaqef בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta נִגְל֤וּ אֵלָיו֙ [3] Pashta הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef מִפְּנֵ֥י אָחִֽיו׃ [1] Silluq |
7 And he built there [3] an altar, [2] the place [2] Beth El; [1] was revealed to him [3] God, [2] from before his brother. [1] |

| 8 וַתָּ֤מׇת דְּבֹרָה֙ [3] Pashta מֵינֶ֣קֶת רִבְקָ֔ה [2] Zaqef מִתַּ֥חַת לְבֵֽית־אֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha תַּ֣חַת הָֽאַלּ֑וֹן [1] Etnachta אַלּ֥וֹן בָּכֽוּת׃ [1] Silluq פ |
8 And Deborah died, [3] the nurse of Rebekah, [2] below Bethel [2] under the oak; [1] Allon Bacuth. [1] ¶ |

| 9 וַיֵּרָ֨א אֱלֹהִ֤ים אֶֽל־יַעֲקֹב֙ [3] Pashta ע֔וֹד [2] Zaqef מִפַּדַּ֣ן אֲרָ֑ם [1] Etnachta אֹתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
9 And God appeared to Jacob [3] again, [2] from Paddan Aram; [1] him. [1] |

| 10 וַיֹּֽאמֶר־ל֥וֹ אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha שִׁמְךָ֣ יַעֲקֹ֑ב [1] Etnachta יַעֲקֹ֗ב [3] Revi'i יִהְיֶ֣ה שְׁמֶ֔ךָ [2] Zaqef יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq |
10 And God said to him, [2] “Your name Jacob; [1] Jacob, [3] it shall be your name.” [2] Israel. [1] |

| 11 וַיֹּ֩אמֶר֩ ל֨וֹ אֱלֹהִ֜ים [4] Geresh אֲנִ֨י אֵ֤ל שַׁדַּי֙ [3] Pashta פְּרֵ֣ה וּרְבֵ֔ה [2] Zaqef וּקְהַ֥ל גּוֹיִ֖ם [2] Tip'cha יִהְיֶ֣ה מִמֶּ֑ךָּ [1] Etnachta מֵחֲלָצֶ֥יךָ יֵצֵֽאוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
11 And God said to him, [4] “I am God Almighty. [3] Be fruitful and multiply. [2] and a company of nations [2] will be from you; [1] from your loins they will come out. [1] |

| 12 וְאֶת־הָאָ֗רֶץ [3] Revi'i אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַ֛תִּי [3] Tevir לְאַבְרָהָ֥ם וּלְיִצְחָ֖ק [2] Tip'cha לְךָ֣ אֶתְּנֶ֑נָּה [1] Etnachta אֶתֵּ֥ן אֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
12 And the land [3] which I gave [3] to Abraham and to Isaac, [2] I will give it to you; [1] I will give the land.” [1] |

13 And he went up from him, [2] God; [1] where he had spoken with him. [1] |

| 14 וַיַּצֵּ֨ב יַעֲקֹ֜ב [4] Geresh מַצֵּבָ֗ה [3] Revi'i אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר אִתּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha נֶ֔סֶךְ [2] Zaqef שָֽׁמֶן׃ [1] Silluq |
14 And Jacob set up [4] a pillar [3] where he had spoken with him, [2] a drink offering, [2] oil. [1] |

| 15 וַיִּקְרָ֨א יַעֲקֹ֜ב [4] Geresh אֶת־שֵׁ֣ם הַמָּק֗וֹם [3] Revi'i אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha |
15 And Jacob called [4] the name of the place [3] God, [2] |

| 16 וַיִּסְעוּ֙ [3] Pashta מִבֵּ֣ית אֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef לָב֣וֹא אֶפְרָ֑תָה [1] Etnachta וַתְּקַ֥שׁ בְּלִדְתָּֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
16 And they set out [3] from Bethel, [2] to come to Ephrath; [1] and she had hard labor. [1] |

| 17 וַיְהִ֥י בְהַקְשֹׁתָ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha בְּלִדְתָּ֑הּ [1] Etnachta אַל־תִּ֣ירְאִ֔י [2] Zaqef בֵּֽן׃ [1] Silluq |
17 And when she was in hard labor, [2] when she gave birth; [1] “Don’t be afraid, [2] son.” [1] |

| 18 וַיְהִ֞י [4] Gershayim בְּצֵ֤את נַפְשָׁהּ֙ [3] Pashta כִּ֣י מֵ֔תָה [2] Zaqef בֶּן־אוֹנִ֑י [1] Etnachta קָֽרָא־ל֥וֹ בִנְיָמִֽין׃ [1] Silluq |
18 And then [4] as her soul was departing, [3] for she died, [2] Benoni; [1] he called him Benjamin. [1] |

| 19 וַתָּ֖מׇת [2] Tip'cha רָחֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ אֶפְרָ֔תָה [2] Zaqef בֵּ֥ית לָֽחֶם׃ [1] Silluq |
19 And she died, [2] Rachel; [1] on the way to Ephrath [2] Bethlehem. [1] |

| 20 וַיַּצֵּ֧ב יַעֲקֹ֛ב [3] Tevir מַצֵּבָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha עַל־קְבֻרָתָ֑הּ [1] Etnachta מַצֶּ֥בֶת קְבֻֽרַת־רָחֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha עַד־הַיּֽוֹם׃ [1] Silluq |
20 And Jacob set up [3] a pillar [2] on her grave. [1] is the pillar of the grave of Rachel [2] to this day. [1] |

21 And he set out, [2] Israel; [1] beyond [2] the tower of Eder. [1] |

25 And the sons of Bilhah [3] the servant of Rachel, [2] and Naphtali. [1] |
