1 וְיוֹסֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha
הוּרַ֣ד מִצְרָ֑יְמָה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּקְנֵ֡הוּ [4] Pazer
פּוֹטִיפַר֩ סְרִ֨יס פַּרְעֹ֜ה [4] Geresh
שַׂ֤ר הַטַּבָּחִים֙ [3] Pashta
אִ֣ישׁ מִצְרִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
מִיַּד֙ [3] Pashta
הַיִּשְׁמְעֵאלִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר הוֹרִדֻ֖הוּ [2] Tip'cha
שָֽׁמָּה׃ [1] Silluq

he had been brought down to Egypt; [1]
 
and he bought him, [4]
Potiphar the official of Pharaoh, [4]
the captain of the guard, [3]
an Egyptian, [2]
 
from the hand [3]
of the Ishmaelites [2]
 
who had brought him down [2]
to there. [1]
2 וַיְהִ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־יוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef
 
וַיְהִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אִ֣ישׁ מַצְלִ֑יחַ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיְהִ֕י [2] ZaqefG
בְּבֵ֖ית [2] Tip'cha
אֲדֹנָ֥יו הַמִּצְרִֽי׃ [1] Silluq

with Joseph, [2]
 
and he was [2]
a successful man; [1]
 
and he was [2]
in the house of his master [2]
the Egyptian. [1]
3 וַיַּ֣רְא אֲדֹנָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
כִּ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אִתּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וְכֹל֙ [3] Pashta
אֲשֶׁר־ה֣וּא עֹשֶׂ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
מַצְלִ֥יחַ בְּיָדֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

that the LORD [2]
was with him; [1]
 
and all [3]
that he was doing [2]
 
the LORD [2]
was making successful in his hand. [1]
4 וַיִּמְצָ֨א יוֹסֵ֥ף חֵ֛ן [3] Tevir
בְּעֵינָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
וַיְשָׁ֣רֶת אֹת֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּפְקִדֵ֙הוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
עַל־בֵּית֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וְכׇל־יֶשׁ־ל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
נָתַ֥ן בְּיָדֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

in his sight, [2]
and he served him; [1]
 
and he appointed him [3 3]
over his household, [2]
 
and all that he had, [2]
he put in his hand. [1]
5 וַיְהִ֡י [4] Pazer
מֵאָז֩ הִפְקִ֨יד אֹת֜וֹ [4] Geresh
בְּבֵית֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
 
וְעַל֙ [3] Pashta
כׇּל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֶשׁ־ל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיְבָ֧רֶךְ יְהֹוָ֛ה [3] Tevir
אֶת־בֵּ֥ית הַמִּצְרִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
בִּגְלַ֣ל יוֹסֵ֑ף [1] Etnachta
 
וַיְהִ֞י [4] Gershayim
בִּרְכַּ֤ת יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
בְּכׇל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֶשׁ־ל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
בַּבַּ֖יִת [2] Tip'cha
וּבַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq

and over [3]
all that he had, [2]
 
the LORD blessed [3]
the household of the Egyptian [2]
for the sake of Joseph; [1]
 
and it was, [4]
the blessing of the LORD, [3]
on all that he had, [2]
 
in the house [2]
and in the field. [1]
6 וַיַּעֲזֹ֣ב כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ֮ [3] Zarqa
בְּיַד־יוֹסֵף֒ [2] Segol
 
וְלֹא־יָדַ֤ע אִתּוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
מְא֔וּמָה [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י אִם־הַלֶּ֖חֶם [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁר־ה֣וּא אוֹכֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
וַיְהִ֣י יוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef
יְפֵה־תֹ֖אַר [2] Tip'cha
וִיפֵ֥ה מַרְאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq

in the hand of Joseph, [2]
 
and he didn’t concern himself [3]
with anything [2]
 
but the food [2]
which he ate; [1]
 
and Joseph was [2]
well-built [2]
and handsome. [1]
7 וַיְהִ֗י [3] Revi'i
אַחַר֙ [3] Pashta
הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה [2] Zaqef
 
וַתִּשָּׂ֧א אֵֽשֶׁת־אֲדֹנָ֛יו [3] Tevir
אֶת־עֵינֶ֖יהָ [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־יוֹסֵ֑ף [1] Etnachta
 
וַתֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha
שִׁכְבָ֥ה עִמִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq

these things, [2]
 
the wife of his master lifted up [3]
her eyes [2]
to Joseph; [1]
 
and she said, [2]
“Lie with me.” [1]
8 וַיְמָאֵ֓ן ׀ [2] Shalshelet
 
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֶל־אֵ֣שֶׁת אֲדֹנָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
הֵ֣ן אֲדֹנִ֔י [2] Zaqef
לֹא־יָדַ֥ע אִתִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
מַה־בַּבָּ֑יִת [1] Etnachta
 
וְכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־יֶשׁ־ל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
נָתַ֥ן בְּיָדִֽי׃ [1] Silluq

and he said [3 3]
to the wife of his master, [2]
 
“Behold, my master [2]
doesn’t concern himself with [2]
anything in the house; [1]
 
and all that he has, [2]
he has put in my hand. [1]
9 אֵינֶ֨נּוּ גָד֜וֹל [4] Geresh
בַּבַּ֣יִת הַזֶּה֮ [3] Zarqa
מִמֶּ֒נִּי֒ [2 2] Segol
 
וְלֹֽא־חָשַׂ֤ךְ מִמֶּ֙נִּי֙ [3 3] Pashta
מְא֔וּמָה [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י אִם־אוֹתָ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha
בַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר אַתְּ־אִשְׁתּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֵ֨יךְ אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֜ה [4] Geresh
הָרָעָ֤ה הַגְּדֹלָה֙ [3] Pashta
הַזֹּ֔את [2] Zaqef
 
וְחָטָ֖אתִי [2] Tip'cha
לֵֽאלֹהִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

and he has not withheld from me [3 3]
anything [2]
 
but you, [2]
because you are his wife; [1]
 
how then can I do [4]
the great evil, [3]

כְּדַבְּרָ֥הּ אֶל־יוֹסֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha
י֣וֹם ׀ י֑וֹם [1] Etnachta
 
וְלֹא־שָׁמַ֥ע אֵלֶ֛יהָ [3] Tevir
לִשְׁכַּ֥ב אֶצְלָ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha
לִהְי֥וֹת עִמָּֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq

as she spoke to Joseph [2]
day by day; [1]
 
he didn’t listen to her [3]
to lie beside her, [2]
to be with her. [1]
11 וַיְהִי֙ [3] Pashta
כְּהַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וַיָּבֹ֥א הַבַּ֖יְתָה [2] Tip'cha
לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת מְלַאכְתּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֵ֨ין אִ֜ישׁ [4] Geresh
מֵאַנְשֵׁ֥י הַבַּ֛יִת [3] Tevir
שָׁ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בַּבָּֽיִת׃ [1] Silluq

this time [2]
 
he went into the house [2]
to do his work; [1]
 
and none [4]
of the men of the house [3]
were there [2]
in the house. [1]
12 וַתִּתְפְּשֵׂ֧הוּ בְּבִגְד֛וֹ [3] Tevir
לֵאמֹ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
שִׁכְבָ֣ה עִמִּ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּעֲזֹ֤ב בִּגְדוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
בְּיָדָ֔הּ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיָּ֖נׇס [2] Tip'cha
וַיֵּצֵ֥א הַחֽוּצָה׃ [1] Silluq

saying, [2]
“Lie with me!” [1]
 
And he left his garment [3]
in her hand, [2]
 
and he ran [2]
and he went outside. [1]
13 וַיְהִי֙ [3] Pashta
כִּרְאוֹתָ֔הּ [2] Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־עָזַ֥ב בִּגְד֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
בְּיָדָ֑הּ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיָּ֖נׇס [2] Tip'cha
הַחֽוּצָה׃ [1] Silluq

when she saw [2]
 
that he had left his garment [2]
in her hand; [1]
 
and he had run [2]
outside, [1]
14 וַתִּקְרָ֞א [4] Gershayim
לְאַנְשֵׁ֣י בֵיתָ֗הּ [3] Revi'i
 
וַתֹּ֤אמֶר לָהֶם֙ [3] Pashta
לֵאמֹ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
רְא֗וּ [3] Revi'i
הֵ֥בִיא לָ֛נוּ [3] Tevir
אִ֥ישׁ עִבְרִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
לְצַ֣חֶק בָּ֑נוּ [1] Etnachta
 
בָּ֤א אֵלַי֙ [3] Pashta
לִשְׁכַּ֣ב עִמִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וָאֶקְרָ֖א [2] Tip'cha
בְּק֥וֹל גָּדֽוֹל׃ [1] Silluq

to the men of her house, [3]
 
and she spoke to them [3]
saying, [2]
 
“Behold, [3]
he has brought to us [3]
a Hebrew man, [2]
to mock us; [1]
 
he came to me [3]
to lie with me, [2]
 
and I cried out [2]
with a loud voice. [1]
15 וַיְהִ֣י כְשׇׁמְע֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
כִּֽי־הֲרִימֹ֥תִי קוֹלִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
וָאֶקְרָ֑א [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּעֲזֹ֤ב בִּגְדוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
אֶצְלִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וַיָּ֖נׇס [2] Tip'cha
וַיֵּצֵ֥א הַחֽוּצָה׃ [1] Silluq

that I raised my voice [2]
and I called out; [1]
 
he left his garment [3]
beside me, [2]
 
and he ran [2]
and he went outside.” [1]
16 וַתַּנַּ֥ח בִּגְד֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
אֶצְלָ֑הּ [1] Etnachta
 
עַד־בּ֥וֹא אֲדֹנָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־בֵּיתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 16 And she placed his garment [2]
beside her; [1]
 
until his master came [2]
to his house. [1]
17 וַתְּדַבֵּ֣ר אֵלָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
כַּדְּבָרִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה [2] Tip'cha
לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
בָּֽא־אֵלַ֞י [4] Gershayim
הָעֶ֧בֶד הָֽעִבְרִ֛י [3] Tevir
אֲשֶׁר־הֵבֵ֥אתָ לָּ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha
לְצַ֥חֶק בִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 4 17 And she spoke to him [2]
according to these words [2]
saying; [1]
 
“He came to me [4]
the Hebrew servant [3]
whom you brought to us, [2]
to mock me, [1]
18 וַיְהִ֕י [2] ZaqefG
כַּהֲרִימִ֥י קוֹלִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
וָאֶקְרָ֑א [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּעֲזֹ֥ב בִּגְד֛וֹ [3] Tevir
אֶצְלִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
וַיָּ֥נׇס הַחֽוּצָה׃ [1] Silluq

as I lifted up my voice [2]
and I called out; [1]
 
he left his garment [3]
beside me, [2]
and he ran outside.” [1]
19 וַיְהִי֩ כִשְׁמֹ֨עַ אֲדֹנָ֜יו [4] Geresh
אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֣י אִשְׁתּ֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
 
אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבְּרָ֤ה אֵלָיו֙ [3] Pashta
לֵאמֹ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
כַּדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה [2] Zaqef
עָ֥שָׂה לִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּ֖חַר [2] Tip'cha
אַפּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

the words of his wife [3]
 
which she spoke to him [3]
saying, [2]
 
“According to these things [2]
he did to me, [2]
your servant,” [1]
 
it was kindled, [2]
his anger. [1]
20 וַיִּקַּח֩ אֲדֹנֵ֨י יוֹסֵ֜ף [4] Geresh
אֹת֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
 
וַֽיִּתְּנֵ֙הוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֶל־בֵּ֣ית הַסֹּ֔הַר [2] Zaqef
 
מְק֕וֹם [2] ZaqefG
אֲשֶׁר־*אסורי **אֲסִירֵ֥י הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ [2] Tip'cha
אֲסוּרִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וַֽיְהִי־שָׁ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בְּבֵ֥ית הַסֹּֽהַר׃ [1] Silluq

him, [3]
 
and he put him [3 3]
into the prison house, [2]
 
the place [2]
where the prisoners of the king [2]
were imprisoned; [1]
 
and there he was [2]
in the prison house. [1]
21 וַיְהִ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־יוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֵּ֥ט אֵלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
חָ֑סֶד [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּתֵּ֣ן חִנּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
בְּעֵינֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
שַׂ֥ר בֵּית־הַסֹּֽהַר׃ [1] Silluq

with Joseph, [2]
 
and showed to him [2]
kindness; [1]
 
and he gave him favor [2]
in the sight [2]
of the keeper of the prison house. [1]
22 וַיִּתֵּ֞ן [4] Gershayim
שַׂ֤ר בֵּית־הַסֹּ֙הַר֙ [3 3] Pashta
בְּיַד־יוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef
 
אֵ֚ת [3] Yetiv
כׇּל־הָ֣אֲסִירִ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
בְּבֵ֣ית הַסֹּ֑הַר [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֵ֨ת כׇּל־אֲשֶׁ֤ר עֹשִׂים֙ [3] Pashta
שָׁ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
ה֖וּא [2] Tip'cha
הָיָ֥ה עֹשֶֽׂה׃ [1] Silluq

the keeper of the prison house, [3 3]
into the hand of Joseph [2]

all the prisoners [2]
 
who [2]
were in the prison house; [1]
 
and whatever they did [3]

he was responsible for. [1]

שַׂ֣ר בֵּית־הַסֹּ֗הַר [3] Revi'i
 
רֹאֶ֤ה אֶֽת־כׇּל־מְא֙וּמָה֙ [3 3] Pashta
בְּיָד֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
בַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אִתּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וַֽאֲשֶׁר־ה֥וּא עֹשֶׂ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֥ה מַצְלִֽיחַ׃ [1] Silluq
