אַחֲרֵי֙ [3] Pashta
הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לְיוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef
הִנֵּ֥ה אָבִ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
חֹלֶ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּקַּ֞ח [4] Gershayim
אֶת־שְׁנֵ֤י בָנָיו֙ [3] Pashta
עִמּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
אֶת־מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶת־אֶפְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq

someone said to Joseph, [2]
“Behold, your father [2]
is sick.” [1]
 
And he took [4]
his two sons [3]
with him, [2]
 
Manasseh [2]
and Ephraim. [1]
2 וַיַּגֵּ֣ד לְיַעֲקֹ֔ב [2] Zaqef
וַיֹּ֕אמֶר [2] ZaqefG
 
הִנֵּ֛ה [3] Tevir
בִּנְךָ֥ יוֹסֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha
בָּ֣א אֵלֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּתְחַזֵּק֙ [3] Pashta
יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב [2] Tip'cha
עַל־הַמִּטָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq

and he said, [2]
 
“Behold [3]
your son Joseph, [2]
he has come to you,” [1]
 
and he strengthened himself, [3]
Israel, [2]
 
and he sat [2]
on the bed. [1]
3 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יַעֲקֹב֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־יוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef
 
אֵ֥ל שַׁדַּ֛י [3] Tevir
נִרְאָֽה־אֵלַ֥י בְּל֖וּז [2] Tip'cha
בְּאֶ֣רֶץ כְּנָ֑עַן [1] Etnachta
 
וַיְבָ֖רֶךְ [2] Tip'cha
אֹתִֽי׃ [1] Silluq

to Joseph, [2]
 
“God Almighty, [3]
he appeared to me at Luz [2]
in the land of Canaan; [1]
 
and he blessed [2]
me, [1]
4 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֗י [3] Revi'i
הִנְנִ֤י מַפְרְךָ֙ [3] Pashta
וְהִרְבִּיתִ֔ךָ [2] Zaqef
 
וּנְתַתִּ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
לִקְהַ֣ל עַמִּ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וְנָ֨תַתִּ֜י [4] Geresh
אֶת־הָאָ֧רֶץ הַזֹּ֛את [3] Tevir
לְזַרְעֲךָ֥ אַחֲרֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
אֲחֻזַּ֥ת עוֹלָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

‘Behold I will make you fruitful, [3]
and I will multiply you, [2]
 
and I will make of you [2]
a company of peoples; [1]
 
and I will give [4]
this land [3]
to your offspring after you, [2]
for an everlasting possession.’ [1]
5 וְעַתָּ֡ה [4] Pazer
שְׁנֵֽי־בָנֶ֩יךָ֩ הַנּוֹלָדִ֨ים לְךָ֜ [4] Geresh
בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֗יִם [3] Revi'i
 
עַד־בֹּאִ֥י אֵלֶ֛יךָ [3] Tevir
מִצְרַ֖יְמָה [2] Tip'cha
 
לִי־הֵ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta
וּמְנַשֶּׁ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
כִּרְאוּבֵ֥ן וְשִׁמְע֖וֹן [2] Tip'cha
יִֽהְיוּ־לִֽי׃ [1] Silluq

your two sons who were born to you [4]
in the land of Egypt [3]
 
before I came to you [3]
to Egypt, [2]
 
they belong to me; [1]
 
Ephraim [3 3]
and Manasseh, [2]
 
like Reuben and Simeon [2]
they will belong to me. [1]
6 וּמוֹלַדְתְּךָ֛ [3] Tevir
אֲשֶׁר־הוֹלַ֥דְתָּ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
לְךָ֣ יִהְי֑וּ [1] Etnachta
 
עַ֣ל שֵׁ֧ם אֲחֵיהֶ֛ם [3] Tevir
יִקָּרְא֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
בְּנַחֲלָתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 6 And your offspring [3]
who have been born to you after them, [2]
to you they will belong. [1]
 
After the name of their brothers [3]
they shall be called [2]
in their inheritance. [1]
7 וַאֲנִ֣י ׀ [4] Legarmeh
בְּבֹאִ֣י מִפַּדָּ֗ן [3] Revi'i
 
מֵ֩תָה֩ עָלַ֨י רָחֵ֜ל [4] Geresh
בְּאֶ֤רֶץ כְּנַ֙עַן֙ [3 3] Pashta
בַּדֶּ֔רֶךְ [2] Zaqef
 
בְּע֥וֹד כִּבְרַת־אֶ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha
לָבֹ֣א אֶפְרָ֑תָה [1] Etnachta
 
וָאֶקְבְּרֶ֤הָ שָּׁם֙ [3] Pashta
בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ אֶפְרָ֔ת [2] Zaqef
 
הִ֖וא [2] Tip'cha
בֵּ֥ית לָֽחֶם׃ [1] Silluq

when I came from Paddan, [3]
 
Rachel died beside me [4]
in the land of Canaan [3 3]
on the journey, [2]
 
when there was still some distance [2]
to come to Ephrath, [1]
 
and I buried her there [3]
on the way to Ephrath; [2]
 
which is [2]
Bethlehem.” [1]
8 וַיַּ֥רְא יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י יוֹסֵ֑ף [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha
מִי־אֵֽלֶּה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 8 And Israel saw [2]
the sons of Joseph; [1]
 
and he said, [2]
“Who are these?” [1]
9 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יוֹסֵף֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־אָבִ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
בָּנַ֣י הֵ֔ם [2] Zaqef
אֲשֶׁר־נָֽתַן־לִ֥י אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
בָּזֶ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּאמַ֕ר [2] ZaqefG
קָֽחֶם־נָ֥א אֵלַ֖י [2] Tip'cha
וַאֲבָרְכֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq

to his father, [2]
 
“They are my sons, [2]
whom God has given to me [2]
here.” [1]
 
And he said, [2]
“Please bring them to me [2]
so that I may bless them.” [1]
10 וְעֵינֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ [3] Pashta
כָּבְד֣וּ מִזֹּ֔קֶן [2] Zaqef
 
לֹ֥א יוּכַ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
לִרְא֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּגֵּ֤שׁ אֹתָם֙ [3] Pashta
אֵלָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּשַּׁ֥ק לָהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וַיְחַבֵּ֥ק לָהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 2 10 Now the eyes of Israel, [3]
they were dim from old age. [2]
 
He wasn't able [2]
to see well; [1]
 
so he brought them near [3]
to him, [2]
 
and he kissed them [2]
and he embraced them. [1]
11 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־יוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef
 
רְאֹ֥ה פָנֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֣א פִלָּ֑לְתִּי [1] Etnachta
 
וְהִנֵּ֨ה הֶרְאָ֥ה אֹתִ֛י [3] Tevir
אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
גַּ֥ם אֶת־זַרְעֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq

to Joseph, [2]
 
“To see your face, [2]
I thought it wouldn't happen; [1]
 
but behold, he has shown me, [3]
God, [2]
also your offspring.” [1]
12 וַיּוֹצֵ֥א יוֹסֵ֛ף [3] Tevir
אֹתָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
מֵעִ֣ם בִּרְכָּ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּ לְאַפָּ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
אָֽרְצָה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 12 And Joseph took [3]
them [2]
from between his knees; [1]
 
and he bowed down with his face [2]
to the ground. [1]
13 וַיִּקַּ֣ח יוֹסֵף֮ [3] Zarqa
אֶת־שְׁנֵיהֶם֒ [2] Segol
 
אֶת־אֶפְרַ֤יִם בִּֽימִינוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
מִשְּׂמֹ֣אל יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶת־מְנַשֶּׁ֥ה בִשְׂמֹאל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
מִימִ֣ין יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּגֵּ֖שׁ [2] Tip'cha
אֵלָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq

the two of them, [2]
 
Ephraim at his right hand [3]
to the left of Israel, [2]
 
and Manasseh at his left hand [2]
to the right of Israel; [1]
 
and he brought them near [2]
to him. [1]
14 וַיִּשְׁלַח֩ יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל אֶת־יְמִינ֜וֹ [4] Geresh
וַיָּ֨שֶׁת עַל־רֹ֤אשׁ אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta
וְה֣וּא הַצָּעִ֔יר [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶת־שְׂמֹאל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־רֹ֣אשׁ מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
שִׂכֵּל֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־יָדָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
הַבְּכֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 2 2 3 2 14 And Israel stretched out his right hand [4]
and he laid it on the head of Ephraim, [3 3]
who was the younger, [2]
 
and his left hand [2]
on the head of Manasseh; [1]
 
he laid crosswise [3]
his hands, [2]
 
for Manasseh [2]
was the firstborn. [1]
15 וַיְבָ֥רֶךְ אֶת־יוֹסֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha
וַיֹּאמַ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
הָֽאֱלֹהִ֡ים [4] Pazer
אֲשֶׁר֩ הִתְהַלְּכ֨וּ אֲבֹתַ֤י לְפָנָיו֙ [3] Pashta
אַבְרָהָ֣ם וְיִצְחָ֔ק [2] Zaqef
 
הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Pashta
הָרֹעֶ֣ה אֹתִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
מֵעוֹדִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
עַד־הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 4 2 3 2 15 And he blessed Joseph [2]
and he said; [1]
 
“The God [4]
before whom they walked, my fathers [3]
Abraham and Isaac, [2]
 
the God [3]
who has shepherded me [2]
 
all my life long [2]
to this day, [1]
16 הַמַּלְאָךְ֩ הַגֹּאֵ֨ל אֹתִ֜י [4] Geresh
מִכׇּל־רָ֗ע [3] Revi'i
 
יְבָרֵךְ֮ [3] Zarqa
אֶת־הַנְּעָרִים֒ [2] Segol
 
וְיִקָּרֵ֤א בָהֶם֙ [3] Pashta
שְׁמִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וְשֵׁ֥ם אֲבֹתַ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אַבְרָהָ֣ם וְיִצְחָ֑ק [1] Etnachta
 
וְיִדְגּ֥וּ לָרֹ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq

from all harm, [3]
 
may he bless [3]
the lads, [2]
 
and let it be named on them [3]
my name, [2]
 
and the name of my fathers [2]
Abraham and Isaac; [1]
 
and let them grow into a multitude [2]
upon the earth.” [1]
17 וַיַּ֣רְא יוֹסֵ֗ף [3] Revi'i
כִּי־יָשִׁ֨ית אָבִ֧יו יַד־יְמִינ֛וֹ [3] Tevir
עַל־רֹ֥אשׁ אֶפְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
וַיֵּ֣רַע בְּעֵינָ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּתְמֹ֣ךְ יַד־אָבִ֗יו [3] Revi'i
לְהָסִ֥יר אֹתָ֛הּ [3] Tevir
מֵעַ֥ל רֹאשׁ־אֶפְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
עַל־רֹ֥אשׁ מְנַשֶּֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 3 3 17 And when Joseph saw [3]
that his father laid his right hand [3]
on the head of Ephraim, [2]
it was displeasing in his eyes; [1]
 
and he grasped the hand of his father, [3]
to remove it [3]
from the head of Ephraim, [2]
to the head of Manasseh. [1]
18 וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יוֹסֵ֛ף [3] Tevir
אֶל־אָבִ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
לֹא־כֵ֣ן אָבִ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
כִּי־זֶ֣ה הַבְּכֹ֔ר [2] Zaqef
שִׂ֥ים יְמִינְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־רֹאשֽׁוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 18 And Joseph said [3]
to his father, [2]
“Not so, my father. [1]
 
Since this is the firstborn, [2]
put your right hand [2]
on his head.” [1]
19 וַיְמָאֵ֣ן אָבִ֗יו [3] Revi'i
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ [3 3] Pashta
יָדַ֤עְתִּֽי בְנִי֙ [3] Pashta
יָדַ֔עְתִּי [2] Zaqef
 
גַּם־ה֥וּא יִֽהְיֶה־לְּעָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וְגַם־ה֣וּא יִגְדָּ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
וְאוּלָ֗ם [3] Revi'i
אָחִ֤יו הַקָּטֹן֙ [3] Pashta
יִגְדַּ֣ל מִמֶּ֔נּוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְזַרְע֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
יִהְיֶ֥ה מְלֹֽא־הַגּוֹיִֽם׃ [1] Silluq

and he said, [3 3]
“I know, my son, [3]
I know. [2]
 
He also, he will become a people, [2]
and he also, he will become great; [1]
 
but [3]
his younger brother, [3]
he will become greater than he, [2]
 
and his offspring [2]
will be the fullness of the nations.” [1]
20 וַיְבָ֨רְכֵ֜ם [4] Geresh
בַּיּ֣וֹם הַהוּא֮ [3] Zarqa
לֵאמוֹר֒ [2] Segol
 
בְּךָ֗ [3] Revi'i
יְבָרֵ֤ךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ [3] Pashta
לֵאמֹ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
יְשִֽׂמְךָ֣ אֱלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
כְּאֶפְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
וְכִמְנַשֶּׁ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיָּ֥שֶׂם אֶת־אֶפְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
לִפְנֵ֥י מְנַשֶּֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq

on that day, [3]
saying, [2]
 
“By you [3]
shall Israel bless [3]
saying, [2]
 
‘May God make you [2]
like Ephraim [2]
and like Manasseh.’ ” [1]
 
And he put Ephraim [2]
before Manasseh. [1]
21 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־יוֹסֵ֔ף [2] Zaqef
 
הִנֵּ֥ה אָנֹכִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
מֵ֑ת [1] Etnachta
 
וְהָיָ֤ה אֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Pashta
עִמָּכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וְהֵשִׁ֣יב אֶתְכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
אֶל־אֶ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha
אֲבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq

to Joseph, [2]
 
“Behold, I am [2]
about to die; [1]
 
but God will be [3]
with you, [2]
 
and he will bring you back [2]
to the land [2]
of your fathers. [1]
22 וַאֲנִ֞י [4] Gershayim
נָתַ֧תִּֽי לְךָ֛ [3] Tevir
שְׁכֶ֥ם אַחַ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
עַל־אַחֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁ֤ר לָקַ֙חְתִּי֙ [3 3] Pashta
מִיַּ֣ד הָֽאֱמֹרִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
בְּחַרְבִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
וּבְקַשְׁתִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
