1 וַיְבָ֣רֶךְ אֱלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef אֶת־נֹ֖חַ [2] Tip'cha וְאֶת־בָּנָ֑יו [1] Etnachta פְּר֥וּ וּרְב֖וּ [2] Tip'cha וּמִלְא֥וּ אֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
1 And God blessed [2] Noah [2] and his sons; [1] “Be fruitful and multiply, [2] and fill the earth. [1] |

2 וּמוֹרַאֲכֶ֤ם וְחִתְּכֶם֙ [3] Pashta יִֽהְיֶ֔ה [2] Zaqef כׇּל־חַיַּ֣ת הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef כׇּל־ע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta וּֽבְכׇל־דְּגֵ֥י הַיָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha בְּיֶדְכֶ֥ם נִתָּֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
2 And the fear of you and the dread of you [3] it will be, [2] every animal of the earth, [2] every bird of the sky. [1] and over all the fish of the sea, [2] into your hand they are given. [1] |

3 כׇּל־רֶ֙מֶשׂ֙ [3 3] Pashta אֲשֶׁ֣ר הוּא־חַ֔י [2] Zaqef לְאׇכְלָ֑ה [1] Etnachta נָתַ֥תִּי לָכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha אֶת־כֹּֽל׃ [1] Silluq |
3 Every moving thing [3 3] that lives [2] for food. [1] I [now] give to you [2] everything. [1] |

4 אַךְ־בָּשָׂ֕ר [2] ZaqefG בְּנַפְשׁ֥וֹ דָמ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha לֹ֥א תֹאכֵֽלוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
4 But flesh [2] with its life - its blood [2] you must not eat. [1] |

5 וְאַ֨ךְ אֶת־דִּמְכֶ֤ם לְנַפְשֹֽׁתֵיכֶם֙ [3] Pashta אֶדְרֹ֔שׁ [2] Zaqef אֶדְרְשֶׁ֑נּוּ [1] Etnachta מִיַּד֙ [3] Pashta אִ֣ישׁ אָחִ֔יו [2] Zaqef אֶת־נֶ֥פֶשׁ הָֽאָדָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
5 And surely accounting for your life’s blood [3] I will require. [2] I will require it; [1] at the hand [3] of each his brother, [2] the life of man. [1] |

6 שֹׁפֵךְ֙ [3] Pashta דַּ֣ם הָֽאָדָ֔ם [2] Zaqef דָּמ֣וֹ יִשָּׁפֵ֑ךְ [1] Etnachta בְּצֶ֣לֶם אֱלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef אֶת־הָאָדָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
6 Whoever sheds [3] man’s blood, [2] his blood will be shed; [1] in the image of God, [2] man. [1] |

7 וְאַתֶּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha פְּר֣וּ וּרְב֑וּ [1] Etnachta וּרְבוּ־בָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq ס |
7 And you, [2] be fruitful and multiply. [1] and multiply on it.” [1] § |

8 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Pashta אֶל־נֹ֔חַ [2] Zaqef לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
8 And God spoke [3] to Noah, [2] saying, [1] |
|||
9 וַאֲנִ֕י [2] ZaqefG אֶת־בְּרִיתִ֖י [2] Tip'cha אִתְּכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta אַֽחֲרֵיכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
9 “And I, [2] my covenant [2] with you; [1] after you, [1] |

10 וְאֵ֨ת כׇּל־נֶ֤פֶשׁ הַֽחַיָּה֙ [3] Pashta אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתְּכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef וּֽבְכׇל־חַיַּ֥ת הָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha אִתְּכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta יֹצְאֵ֣י הַתֵּבָ֔ה [2] Zaqef חַיַּ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
10 and with every living creature [3] that is with you, [2] and every animal of the earth [2] with you; [1] that came out of the ark, [2] animal of the earth. [1] |

11 וַהֲקִמֹתִ֤י אֶת־בְּרִיתִי֙ [3] Pashta אִתְּכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef ע֖וֹד [2] Tip'cha מִמֵּ֣י הַמַּבּ֑וּל [1] Etnachta מַבּ֖וּל [2] Tip'cha לְשַׁחֵ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
11 And I will establish my covenant [3] with you, [2] again [2] by the waters of the flood; [1] a flood [2] to destroy the earth.” [1] |

12 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֗ים [3] Revi'i זֹ֤את אֽוֹת־הַבְּרִית֙ [3] Pashta אֲשֶׁר־אֲנִ֣י נֹתֵ֗ן [3] Revi'i בֵּינִי֙ [3] Pashta וּבֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef כׇּל־נֶ֥פֶשׁ חַיָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתְּכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta עוֹלָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
12 And God said, [3] “This is the sign of the covenant [3] which I am making [3] from me [3] to you, [2] every living creature [2] that is with you; [1] to come, [1] |

13 אֶת־קַשְׁתִּ֕י [2] ZaqefG נָתַ֖תִּי [2] Tip'cha בֶּֽעָנָ֑ן [1] Etnachta לְא֣וֹת בְּרִ֔ית [2] Zaqef וּבֵ֥ין הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
13 My rainbow, [2] I set [2] in the cloud; [1] a sign of a covenant [2] and the earth. [1] |

14 וְהָיָ֕ה [2] ZaqefG בְּעַֽנְנִ֥י עָנָ֖ן [2] Tip'cha עַל־הָאָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta בֶּעָנָֽן׃ [1] Silluq |
14 And when [2] I bring a cloud [2] over the earth; [1] in the cloud, [1] |

15 וְזָכַרְתִּ֣י אֶת־בְּרִיתִ֗י [3] Revi'i אֲשֶׁ֤ר בֵּינִי֙ [3] Pashta וּבֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef כׇּל־נֶ֥פֶשׁ חַיָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha בְּכׇל־בָּשָׂ֑ר [1] Etnachta לְמַבּ֔וּל [2] Zaqef כׇּל־בָּשָֽׂר׃ [1] Silluq |
15 and I will remember my covenant, [3] which is between me [3] and you, [2] every living creature [2] of all flesh; [1] a flood [2] all flesh. [1] |

16 וְהָיְתָ֥ה הַקֶּ֖שֶׁת [2] Tip'cha בֶּֽעָנָ֑ן [1] Etnachta לִזְכֹּר֙ [3] Pashta בְּרִ֣ית עוֹלָ֔ם [2] Zaqef כׇּל־נֶ֣פֶשׁ חַיָּ֔ה [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
16 And the rainbow will be [2] in the cloud; [1] that I may remember [3] the everlasting covenant, [2] every living creature [2] that is on the earth.” [1] |

17 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha אֶל־נֹ֑חַ [1] Etnachta אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֲקִמֹ֔תִי [2] Zaqef וּבֵ֥ין כׇּל־בָּשָׂ֖ר [2] Tip'cha אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq פ |
17 And God said [2] to Noah; [1] which I have established, [2] and all flesh [2] that is on the earth.” [1] ¶ |

18 וַיִּֽהְי֣וּ בְנֵי־נֹ֗חַ [3] Revi'i הַיֹּֽצְאִים֙ [3] Pashta מִן־הַתֵּבָ֔ה [2] Zaqef וְחָ֣ם וָיָ֑פֶת [1] Etnachta ה֖וּא [2] Tip'cha אֲבִ֥י כְנָֽעַן׃ [1] Silluq |
18 And they were, the sons of Noah [3] who came out [3] from the ark, [2] and Ham and Japheth; [1] he [2] was the father of Canaan. [1] |

19 שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה אֵ֖לֶּה [2] Tip'cha בְּנֵי־נֹ֑חַ [1] Etnachta נָֽפְצָ֥ה כׇל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
19 These three [2] were the sons of Noah; [1] the whole earth was populated. [1] |

20 וַיָּ֥חֶל נֹ֖חַ [2] Tip'cha אִ֣ישׁ הָֽאֲדָמָ֑ה [1] Etnachta כָּֽרֶם׃ [1] Silluq |
20 And Noah began [2] to be a farmer; [1] a vineyard. [1] |

21 וַיֵּ֥שְׁתְּ מִן־הַיַּ֖יִן [2] Tip'cha וַיִּשְׁכָּ֑ר [1] Etnachta בְּת֥וֹךְ אׇהֳלֹֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
21 And he drank of the wine [2] and he became drunk; [1] in the middle of his tent. [1] |

22 וַיַּ֗רְא [3] Revi'i חָ֚ם [3] Yetiv אֲבִ֣י כְנַ֔עַן [2] Zaqef עֶרְוַ֣ת אָבִ֑יו [1] Etnachta בַּחֽוּץ׃ [1] Silluq |
22 And he saw, [3] Ham [3] the father of Canaan, [2] nakedness of his father; [1] outside. [1] |

23 וַיִּקַּח֩ שֵׁ֨ם וָיֶ֜פֶת [4] Geresh אֶת־הַשִּׂמְלָ֗ה [3] Revi'i עַל־שְׁכֶ֣ם שְׁנֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef אֲחֹ֣רַנִּ֔ית [2] Zaqef אֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha עֶרְוַ֣ת אֲבִיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta אֲחֹ֣רַנִּ֔ית [2] Zaqef לֹ֥א רָאֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
23 And Shem and Japheth took [4] the garment, [3] on both their shoulders, [2] backwards, [2] the [2] nakedness of their father; [1] were backwards, [2] they didn’t see. [1] |

24 וַיִּ֥יקֶץ נֹ֖חַ [2] Tip'cha מִיֵּינ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta אֲשֶׁר־עָֽשָׂה־ל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha בְּנ֥וֹ הַקָּטָֽן׃ [1] Silluq |
24 And Noah awoke [2] from his wine; [1] which he had done to him, [2] his youngest son. [1] |

25 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha אָר֣וּר כְּנָ֑עַן [1] Etnachta יִֽהְיֶ֥ה לְאֶחָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq |
25 And he said, [2] “Cursed be Canaan; [1] he will be to his brothers.” [1] |
|||
26 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר [2] ZaqefG בָּר֥וּךְ יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha אֱלֹ֣הֵי שֵׁ֑ם [1] Etnachta עֶ֥בֶד לָֽמוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
26 And he said, [2] “Blessed be the LORD, [2] the God of Shem; [1] his servant. [1] |
|||
27 יַ֤פְתְּ אֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Pashta לְיֶ֔פֶת [2] Zaqef בְּאׇֽהֳלֵי־שֵׁ֑ם [1] Etnachta עֶ֥בֶד לָֽמוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
27 May God make room [3] for Japheth, [2] in the tents of Shem; [1] his servant.” [1] |

28 וַֽיְחִי־נֹ֖חַ [2] Tip'cha אַחַ֣ר הַמַּבּ֑וּל [1] Etnachta שָׁנָ֔ה [2] Zaqef שָׁנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
28 And Noah lived [2] after the flood; [1] years [2] years. [1] |

29 וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ [3] Pashta כׇּל־יְמֵי־נֹ֔חַ [2] Zaqef שָׁנָ֔ה [2] Zaqef שָׁנָ֑ה [1] Etnachta פ |
29 And they were, [3] all the days of Noah, [2] years [2] years; [1] ¶ |
