have I cried for help, [2]
and you do not hear? [1]
 
I cry out to you [3]
“Violence!” [2]
and you do not save? [1]

וְשֹׁ֥ד וְחָמָ֖ס [2] Tip'cha
לְנֶגְדִּ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וַיְהִ֧י רִ֦יב וּמָד֖וֹן [2] Tip'cha

For destruction and violence [2]
are before me; [1]
 
and strife and contention, [2]
it arises. [1]

וְלֹא־יֵצֵ֥א לָנֶ֖צַח [2] Tip'cha

כִּ֤י רָשָׁע֙ [3] Pashta
מַכְתִּ֣יר אֶת־הַצַּדִּ֔יק [2] Zaqef
 
עַל־כֵּ֛ן [3] Tevir
יֵצֵ֥א מִשְׁפָּ֖ט [2] Tip'cha
מְעֻקָּֽל׃ [1] Silluq

מִשְׁכָּנ֥וֹת לֹּא־לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

the nation [2]
bitter and impetuous; [1]
 
which marches [3]
through the width of the earth, [2]
 
to take possession of [2]

it comes for violence, [2]
 
all the hordes face [2]
the desert; [1]
 
and it gathers like the sand, [2]
captives. [1]

בַּמְּלָכִ֣ים יִתְקַלָּ֔ס [2] Zaqef
 
וְרֹזְנִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
מִשְׂחָ֣ק ל֑וֹ [1] Etnachta

לְכׇל־מִבְצָ֣ר יִשְׂחָ֔ק [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּצְבֹּ֥ר עָפָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
וַֽיִּלְכְּדָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq

it scoffs at kings, [2]
 
and princes [2]
are a derision to it; [1]
 
it, [3]
at every stronghold it laughs, [2]
 
for it heaps up earth, [2]
and it captures it. [1]

וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
וְאָשֵׁ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
ז֥וּ כֹח֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
לֵאלֹהֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

and he goes on, [2]
and he is guilty; [1]
 
whose strength [2]
is his god.” [1]

O LORD my God, [3]

to judgment you have appointed him, [2]
 
and O Rock, [2]

וְהַבִּ֥יט אֶל־עָמָ֖ל [2] Tip'cha

לָ֤מָּה תַבִּיט֙ [3] Pashta
בּֽוֹגְדִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
תַּחֲרִ֕ישׁ [2] ZaqefG
בְּבַלַּ֥ע רָשָׁ֖ע [2] Tip'cha

and to look on perversity [2]

לֹא־מֹשֵׁ֥ל בּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

like the fish of the sea; [1]
 
like creeping things [2]
which have no ruler over them. [1]

בְּחַכָּ֣ה הֵֽעֲלָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
יְגֹרֵ֣הוּ בְחֶרְמ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
וְיַאַסְפֵ֖הוּ [2] Tip'cha
בְּמִכְמַרְתּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
עַל־כֵּ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
יִשְׂמַ֥ח וְיָגִֽיל׃ [1] Silluq

with a fishhook he brings up, [2]
 
he drags it away in his net, [2]
and he gathers it [2]
in his fishing net; [1]

he rejoices and he is glad. [1]

יְזַבֵּ֣חַ לְחֶרְמ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וִֽיקַטֵּ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
לְמִכְמַרְתּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֤י בָהֵ֙מָּה֙ [3 3] Pashta
שָׁמֵ֣ן חֶלְק֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וּמַאֲכָל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
בְּרִאָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

he sacrifices to his net, [2]
 
and he burns incense [2]
to his fishing net; [1]

rich is his portion, [2]

עַל־תּוֹכַחְתִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq

“Write down the vision, [2]
and make it clear [2]

so that he may run, [2]

לַמּוֹעֵ֔ד [2] Zaqef
 
וְיָפֵ֥חַ לַקֵּ֖ץ [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֣א יְכַזֵּ֑ב [1] Etnachta
 
אִם־יִתְמַהְמָהּ֙ [3] Pashta
חַכֵּה־ל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
כִּי־בֹ֥א יָבֹ֖א [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א יְאַחֵֽר׃ [1] Silluq

and it hastens to the end, [2]

and wake up, [2]

for your house; [1]
 
by cutting off many peoples, [2]
and have sinned against your soul. [1]

עַל־כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq

the cup [3]

קִרְיָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְכׇל־יֹ֥שְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
