חֲבַקּ֖וּק [2] Tip'cha
הַנָּבִֽיא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 The oracle [3]
which he saw, [2]

Habakkuk [2]
the prophet. [1]
2 עַד־אָ֧נָה יְהֹוָ֛ה [3] Tevir
שִׁוַּ֖עְתִּי [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֣א תִשְׁמָ֑ע [1] Etnachta

אֶזְעַ֥ק אֵלֶ֛יךָ [3] Tevir
חָמָ֖ס [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֥א תוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 How long O LORD [3]
have I cried for help, [2]
and you do not hear? [1]

I cry out to you [3]
“Violence!” [2]
and you do not save? [1]
3 לָ֣מָּה תַרְאֵ֤נִי אָ֙וֶן֙ [3 3] Pashta
וְעָמָ֣ל תַּבִּ֔יט [2] Zaqef

וְשֹׁ֥ד וְחָמָ֖ס [2] Tip'cha

וַיְהִ֧י רִ֦יב וּמָד֖וֹן [2] Tip'cha
יִשָּֽׂא׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 Why do you make me see wickedness, [3 3]
and do you look at mischief? [2]

For destruction and violence [2]

the law is paralyzed, [2]

and it never comes forth, [2]
justice; [1]

for the wicked [3]
surround the righteous, [2]

therefore [3]
justice comes forth [2]
perverted. [1]

1 2 3 2 2 3 2 6 For behold, I am about to raise up [3]
the Chaldeans, [2]

the nation [2]
bitter and impetuous; [1]

which marches [3]
through the width of the earth, [2]

to take possession of [2]
dwelling places which don't belong to it. [1]
7 אָיֹ֥ם וְנוֹרָ֖א [2] Tip'cha
ה֑וּא [1] Etnachta

מִמֶּ֕נּוּ [2] ZaqefG

צַדִּ֥יק מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 2 2 13 Your eyes are too pure [3 3]
for seeing evil, [2]

and to look on perversity [2]
you are not able. [1]

Why do you tolerate [3]
the treacherous, [2]

are you silent [2]
when the wicked swallows up [2]
one more righteous than he? [1]
14 וַתַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה אָדָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
כִּדְגֵ֣י הַיָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta

1 2 3 2 2 2 15 All of it [3]
with a fishhook he brings up, [2]

he drags it away in his net, [2]
and he gathers it [2]
in his fishing net; [1]

he sacrifices to his net, [2]

and he burns incense [2]
to his fishing net; [1]

because by them [3 3]
rich is his portion, [2]

and his food [2]
