1 עַל־מִשְׁמַרְתִּ֣י אֶֽעֱמֹ֔דָה [2] Zaqef
וְאֶֽתְיַצְּבָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
עַל־מָצ֑וֹר [1] Etnachta
 
וַאֲצַפֶּ֗ה [3] Revi'i
לִרְאוֹת֙ [3] Pashta
מַה־יְדַבֶּר־בִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וּמָ֥ה אָשִׁ֖יב [2] Tip'cha
עַל־תּוֹכַחְתִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 3 2 1 At my post I will stand, [2]
and I will set myself [2]
on the fortification; [1]
 
and I will watch [3]
to see [3]
what will he speak by me, [2]
 
and what will I bring back [2]
about my complaint. [1]
2 וַיַּעֲנֵ֤נִי יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
וַיֹּ֔אמֶר [2] Zaqef
 
כְּתֹ֣ב חָז֔וֹן [2] Zaqef
וּבָאֵ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
עַל־הַלֻּח֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
לְמַ֥עַן יָר֖וּץ [2] Tip'cha
ק֥וֹרֵא בֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

and he said, [2]
 
“Write down the vision, [2]
and make it clear [2]
on the tablets; [1]
 
so that he may run, [2]
the one who reads it. [1]
3 כִּ֣י ע֤וֹד חָזוֹן֙ [3] Pashta
לַמּוֹעֵ֔ד [2] Zaqef
 
וְיָפֵ֥חַ לַקֵּ֖ץ [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֣א יְכַזֵּ֑ב [1] Etnachta
 
אִם־יִתְמַהְמָהּ֙ [3] Pashta
חַכֵּה־ל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
כִּי־בֹ֥א יָבֹ֖א [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א יְאַחֵֽר׃ [1] Silluq

for the appointed time, [2]
 
and it hastens to the end, [2]
and it won’t prove false. [1]
 
Though it takes time, [3]
wait for it, [2]
 
for it will surely come, [2]
it won’t delay. [1]
4 הִנֵּ֣ה עֻפְּלָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
לֹא־יָשְׁרָ֥ה נַפְשׁ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha

וְצַדִּ֖יק [2] Tip'cha
בֶּאֱמוּנָת֥וֹ יִֽחְיֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq

his soul is not upright [2]
within him; [1]
 
but the righteous, [2]
by his faithfulness he will live. [1]

כִּֽי־הַיַּ֣יִן בֹּגֵ֔ד [2] Zaqef
 
גֶּ֥בֶר יָהִ֖יר [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֣א יִנְוֶ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁר֩ הִרְחִ֨יב כִּשְׁא֜וֹל [4] Geresh
נַפְשׁ֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
 
וְה֤וּא כַמָּ֙וֶת֙ [3 3] Pashta
וְלֹ֣א יִשְׂבָּ֔ע [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֶּאֱסֹ֤ף אֵלָיו֙ [3] Pashta
כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּקְבֹּ֥ץ אֵלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
כׇּל־הָעַמִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq

for wine is treacherous, [2]
 
an arrogant man [2]
who doesn’t stay at home; [1]
 
who enlarges as Sheol [4]
his throat, [3]
 
and is like death [3 3]
and can’t be satisfied, [2]
 
and he gathers to himself [3]
all the nations, [2]
 
and he assembles to himself [2]
all the peoples, [1]
6 הֲלוֹא־אֵ֣לֶּה כֻלָּ֗ם [3] Revi'i
עָלָיו֙ [3] Pashta
מָשָׁ֣ל יִשָּׂ֔אוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וּמְלִיצָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
חִיד֣וֹת ל֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וְיֹאמַ֗ר [3] Revi'i
ה֚וֹי [3] Yetiv
הַמַּרְבֶּ֣ה לֹּא־ל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
עַד־מָתַ֕י [2] ZaqefG
וּמַכְבִּ֥יד עָלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
עַבְטִֽיט׃ [1] Silluq

a parable take up, [2]
 
and a mocking song [2]
of riddles against him; [1]
 
and say, [3]
‘Woe to [3]
the one who increases what doesn't belong to him, [2]
 
for how long - [2]
and who loads himself [2]
with pledges!’ [1]

יָק֙וּמוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
נֹֽשְׁכֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef
 
וְיִקְצ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
מְזַעְזְעֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְהָיִ֥יתָ לִמְשִׁסּ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
לָֽמוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

they rise up, [3 3]
those who pay interest to you, [2]
 
and wake up, [2]
those who make you tremble; [1]
 
and you will become plunder [2]
for them? [1]
8 כִּֽי־אַתָּ֤ה שַׁלּ֙וֹתָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
גּוֹיִ֣ם רַבִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
יְשׇׁלּ֖וּךָ [2] Tip'cha
כׇּל־יֶ֣תֶר עַמִּ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
מִדְּמֵ֤י אָדָם֙ [3] Pashta
וַֽחֲמַס־אֶ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
קִרְיָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְכׇל־יֹ֥שְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq

many nations, [2]
 
they will plunder you, [2]
all the remnant of the peoples; [1]
 
because of men’s blood [3]
and the violence to the land, [2]
 
to the city [2]
and to all who dwell in it. [1]

בֶּ֥צַע רָ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
לְבֵית֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
לָשׂ֤וּם בַּמָּרוֹם֙ [3] Pashta
קִנּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
לְהִנָּצֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
מִכַּף־רָֽע׃ [1] Silluq

the one who gains [3]
evil unjust gain [2]
for his house; [1]
 
to set on high [3]
his nest, [2]
 
to deliver himself [2]
from the hand of harm! [1]
10 יָעַ֥צְתָּ בֹּ֖שֶׁת [2] Tip'cha
לְבֵיתֶ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
קְצוֹת־עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וְחוֹטֵ֥א נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 10 You have devised shame [2]
for your house; [1]
 
by cutting off many peoples, [2]
and have sinned against your soul. [1]
11 כִּי־אֶ֖בֶן [2] Tip'cha
מִקִּ֣יר תִּזְעָ֑ק [1] Etnachta
 
וְכָפִ֖יס [2] Tip'cha
מֵעֵ֥ץ יַעֲנֶֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq

from the wall will cry out; [1]
 
and a rafter [2]
from the woodwork will answer it. [1]

בֹּנֶ֥ה עִ֖יר [2] Tip'cha

וְכוֹנֵ֥ן קִרְיָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בְּעַוְלָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

one who builds a city [2]
with blood; [1]
 
and establishes a town [2]
by injustice! [1]
13 הֲל֣וֹא הִנֵּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
מֵאֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
וְיִֽיגְע֤וּ עַמִּים֙ [3] Pashta
בְּדֵי־אֵ֔שׁ [2] Zaqef
 
וּלְאֻמִּ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
בְּדֵי־רִ֥יק יִעָֽפוּ׃ [1] Silluq

from [2]
the LORD of Hosts; [1]
 
that the peoples labor [3]
only for fire, [2]
 
and the nations [2]
only for emptiness they weary themselves? [1]

תִּמָּלֵ֣א הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
לָדַ֖עַת [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־כְּב֣וֹד יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
כַּמַּ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
יְכַסּ֥וּ עַל־יָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

the earth will be filled [2]
 
with knowing [2]
the glory of the LORD; [1]
 
as the waters [2]
cover the sea. [1]

מַשְׁקֵ֣ה רֵעֵ֔הוּ [2] Zaqef
 
מְסַפֵּ֥חַ חֲמָתְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
וְאַ֣ף שַׁכֵּ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
לְמַ֥עַן הַבִּ֖יט [2] Tip'cha
עַל־מְעוֹרֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq

the one who makes his neighbor drink, [2]
 
pouring out your wrath [2]
until you make them drunk; [1]
 
in order to gaze [2]
on their nakedness! [1]
16 שָׂבַ֤עְתָּ קָלוֹן֙ [3] Pashta
מִכָּב֔וֹד [2] Zaqef
 
שְׁתֵ֥ה גַם־אַ֖תָּה [2] Tip'cha
וְהֵעָרֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
תִּסּ֣וֹב עָלֶ֗יךָ [3] Revi'i
כּ֚וֹס [3] Yetiv
יְמִ֣ין יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְקִיקָל֖וֹן [2] Tip'cha
עַל־כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq

instead of glory. [2]
 
You also will drink, [2]
and show your uncircumcision! [1]
 
It will come around to you, [3]
the cup [3]
of the right hand of the LORD, [2]
 
and disgrace [2]
will cover your glory. [1]
17 כִּ֣י חֲמַ֤ס לְבָנוֹן֙ [3] Pashta
יְכַסֶּ֔ךָּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְשֹׁ֥ד בְּהֵמ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
יְחִיתַ֑ן [1] Etnachta
 
מִדְּמֵ֤י אָדָם֙ [3] Pashta
וַחֲמַס־אֶ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
קִרְיָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְכׇל־יֹ֥שְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq

it will cover you, [2]
 
and the devastation of animals [2]
which terrified them; [1]
 
from the blood of men [3]
and the violence to the land, [2]
 
to the town [2]
and all who dwell in it. [1]

כִּ֤י פְסָלוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
יֹֽצְר֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
מַסֵּכָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וּמ֣וֹרֶה שָּׁ֑קֶר [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֣י בָטַ֞ח [4] Gershayim
יֹצֵ֤ר יִצְרוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
עָלָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
אֱלִילִ֥ים אִלְּמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

to a mute stone; [1]
 
It, shall it teach? [2]

is overlaid [3]

is not within it. [1]

is in his holy temple. [1]
