הושע 4 Hosea 4
1 שִׁמְע֥וּ דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta

כִּ֣י רִ֤יב לַֽיהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
עִם־יוֹשְׁבֵ֣י הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef

כִּ֠י [4] TelishaG
אֵין־אֱמֶ֧ת וְֽאֵין־חֶ֛סֶד [3] Tevir
וְאֵֽין־דַּ֥עַת אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 3 4 1 Hear the word of the LORD [2]
O children of Israel; [1]

for the LORD has a charge [3]
against the inhabitants of the land, [2]

for [4]
there is no faithfulness and there is no lovingkindness [3]
and there is no knowledge of God [2]
in the land. [1]
2 אָלֹ֣ה וְכַחֵ֔שׁ [2] Zaqef
וְרָצֹ֥חַ וְגָנֹ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
וְנָאֹ֑ף [1] Etnachta

פָּרָ֕צוּ [2] ZaqefG
וְדָמִ֥ים בְּדָמִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
נָגָֽעוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 2 Cursing and deceiving, [2]
and murder and stealing [2]
and committing adultery; [1]

they break all bounds, [2]
and blood against blood [2]
they have touched. [1]
3 עַל־כֵּ֣ן ׀ [4] Legarmeh
תֶּאֱבַ֣ל הָאָ֗רֶץ [3] Revi'i

וְאֻמְלַל֙ [3] Pashta
כׇּל־יוֹשֵׁ֣ב בָּ֔הּ [2] Zaqef

בְּחַיַּ֥ת הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וּבְע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta

וְגַם־דְּגֵ֥י הַיָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יֵאָסֵֽפוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 2 3 Therefore [4]
the land will dry up, [3]

and he will waste away, [3]
everyone who dwells in it, [2]

along with the animals of the field [2]
and with the birds of the sky; [1]

and also the fish of the sea, [2]
they will be removed. [1]
4 אַ֥ךְ אִ֛ישׁ [3] Tevir
אַל־יָרֵ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
וְאַל־יוֹכַ֣ח אִ֑ישׁ [1] Etnachta

וְעַמְּךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
כִּמְרִיבֵ֥י כֹהֵֽן׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 4 Yet any man [3]
let him not bring a charge, [2]
and let him not accuse; [1]

for your people [2]
are like those who bring charges against a priest. [1]
5 וְכָשַׁלְתָּ֣ הַיּ֔וֹם [2] Zaqef

וְכָשַׁ֧ל גַּם־נָבִ֛יא [3] Tevir
עִמְּךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
לָ֑יְלָה [1] Etnachta

וְדָמִ֖יתִי [2] Tip'cha
אִמֶּֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 5 So you will stumble by day, [2]

and the prophet also will stumble [3]
with you [2]
by night; [1]

when I destroy [2]
your mother. [1]
6 נִדְמ֥וּ עַמִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
מִבְּלִ֣י הַדָּ֑עַת [1] Etnachta

כִּי־אַתָּ֞ה [4] Gershayim
הַדַּ֣עַת מָאַ֗סְתָּ [3] Revi'i

*ואמאסאך **וְאֶמְאָֽסְךָ֙ [3] Pashta
מִכַּהֵ֣ן לִ֔י [2] Zaqef

וַתִּשְׁכַּח֙ [3] Pashta
תּוֹרַ֣ת אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef

אֶשְׁכַּ֥ח בָּנֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
גַּם־אָֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 4 3 2 3 2 6 My people have been destroyed [2]
from lack of knowledge. [1]

Because you, [4]
the knowledge you have rejected, [3]

I will reject you [3]
from serving as priest to me, [2]

because you have forgotten [3]
the law of your God, [2]

I will forget your children, [2]
also I. [1]
7 כְּרֻבָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
כֵּ֣ן חָטְאוּ־לִ֑י [1] Etnachta

כְּבוֹדָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בְּקָל֥וֹן אָמִֽיר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 7 As they were multiplied, [2]
so they sinned against me; [1]

their glory [2]
I will change into shame. [1]
8 חַטַּ֥את עַמִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
יֹאכֵ֑לוּ [1] Etnachta

וְאֶל־עֲוֺנָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יִשְׂא֥וּ נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 8 The sin of my people, [2]
they feed on; [1]

and on their iniquity [2]
they set their heart. [1]
9 וְהָיָ֥ה כָעָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
כַּכֹּהֵ֑ן [1] Etnachta

וּפָקַדְתִּ֤י עָלָיו֙ [3] Pashta
דְּרָכָ֔יו [2] Zaqef

וּמַעֲלָלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
אָשִׁ֥יב לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 9 And it will be, like people, [2]
like priest; [1]

and I will visit on him [3]
his ways, [2]

and his deeds [2]
I will repay to him. [1]
10 וְאָֽכְלוּ֙ [3] Pashta
וְלֹ֣א יִשְׂבָּ֔עוּ [2] Zaqef

הִזְנ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֣א יִפְרֹ֑צוּ [1] Etnachta

כִּֽי־אֶת־יְהֹוָ֥ה עָזְב֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
לִשְׁמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 10 And they will eat, [3]
and they will not be satisfied. [2]

They will prostitute themselves, [2]
and they will not increase. [1]

For the LORD, they have abandoned [2]
giving heed to. [1]
11 זְנ֛וּת [3] Tevir
וְיַ֥יִן וְתִיר֖וֹשׁ [2] Tip'cha
יִֽקַּֽח־לֵֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 11 Prostitution [3]
and wine and new wine, [2]
it takes away the heart. [1]
12 עַמִּי֙ [3] Pashta
בְּעֵצ֣וֹ יִשְׁאָ֔ל [2] Zaqef

וּמַקְל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
יַגִּ֣יד ל֑וֹ [1] Etnachta

כִּ֣י ר֤וּחַ זְנוּנִים֙ [3] Pashta
הִתְעָ֔ה [2] Zaqef

וַיִּזְנ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
מִתַּ֥חַת אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 2 12 My people [3]
by his wooden idol he inquires, [2]

and his stick, [2]
it tells him; [1]

for a spirit of prostitution, [3]
it has misled, [2]

and they have prostituted themselves [2]
from under their God. [1]
13 עַל־רָאשֵׁ֨י הֶהָרִ֜ים [4] Geresh
יְזַבֵּ֗חוּ [3] Revi'i

וְעַל־הַגְּבָעוֹת֙ [3] Pashta

תַּ֣חַת אַלּ֧וֹן וְלִבְנֶ֛ה [3] Tevir

כִּ֣י ט֣וֹב צִלָּ֑הּ [1] Etnachta

עַל־כֵּ֗ן [3] Revi'i
תִּזְנֶ֙ינָה֙ [3 3] Pashta
בְּנ֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef

וְכַלּוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
תְּנָאַֽפְנָה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 3 2 3 3 2 13 On the tops of the mountains [4]
they sacrifice, [3]

and on the hills [3]
they burn incense, [2]

under oak and poplar [3]
and terebinth, [2]
for good is its shade; [1]

therefore [3]
they prostitute themselves, [3 3]
your daughters, [2]

and your brides, [2]
they commit adultery. [1]
14 לֹא־אֶפְק֨וֹד עַל־בְּנוֹתֵיכֶ֜ם [4] Geresh
כִּ֣י תִזְנֶ֗ינָה [3] Revi'i

וְעַל־כַּלּֽוֹתֵיכֶם֙ [3] Pashta
כִּ֣י תְנָאַ֔פְנָה [2] Zaqef

כִּי־הֵם֙ [3] Pashta
עִם־הַזֹּנ֣וֹת יְפָרֵ֔דוּ [2] Zaqef

וְעִם־הַקְּדֵשׁ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
יְזַבֵּ֑חוּ [1] Etnachta

וְעָ֥ם לֹֽא־יָבִ֖ין [2] Tip'cha
יִלָּבֵֽט׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 3 2 2 14 I will not visit judgement on your daughters [4]
when they prostitute themselves, [3]

or on your brides [3]
when they commit adultery, [2]

because the men, [3]
with prostitutes they go apart, [2]

and with the cult prostitutes [2]
they sacrifice; [1]

so the people without understanding [2]
will come to ruin. [1]
15 אִם־זֹנֶ֤ה אַתָּה֙ [3] Pashta

1 2 3 2 2 3 3 2 15 Though you prostitute yourself [3]
O Israel, [2]

don’t let it become guilty, [2]
Judah; [1]

and don’t go to Gilgal, [3]
and don't go up to [3]
Beth Aven, [2]

and do not swear, [2]
‘By the life of the LORD.’ [1]

1 2 3 2 2 3 2 16 For [3]
like a stubborn heifer, [2]

it is stubborn, [2]
Israel; [1]

now [3]
the LORD will pasture them [2]

like a lamb [2]
in the open field. [1]
17 חֲב֧וּר עֲצַבִּ֛ים [3] Tevir

and they will be ashamed [2]
because of their sacrifices. [1]
