1 מַשָּׂ֖א [2] Tip'cha
דַּמָּ֑שֶׂק [1] Etnachta
 
הִנֵּ֤ה דַמֶּ֙שֶׂק֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
מוּסָ֣ר מֵעִ֔יר [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְהָיְתָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
מְעִ֥י מַפָּלָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 1 The burden [2]
of Damascus; [1]
 
“Behold, Damascus [3]
will cease as a city, [2]
 
and it will become [2]
a ruinous heap. [1]
2 עֲזֻב֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
עָרֵ֣י עֲרֹעֵ֑ר [1] Munach Etnachta
 
לַעֲדָרִ֣ים תִּֽהְיֶ֔ינָה [2] Munach Zaqef
וְרָבְצ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
וְאֵ֥ין מַֽחֲרִֽיד׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 Forsaken are [2]
the cities of Aroer; [1]
 
for flocks they will be, [2]
and they will lie down [2]
and there will be no one to frighten (them). [1]
3 וְנִשְׁבַּ֤ת מִבְצָר֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
מֵאֶפְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
וּמַמְלָכָ֥ה מִדַּמֶּ֖שֶׂק [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וּשְׁאָ֣ר אֲרָ֑ם [1] Munach Etnachta
 
כִּכְב֤וֹד בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
יִֽהְי֔וּ [2] Zaqef
 
נְאֻ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

from Ephraim, [2]
 
and the kingdom from Damascus [2]
and the remnant of Syria; [1]
 
like the glory of the children of Israel [3]
they will be,” [2]

the LORD of Hosts. [1]
4 וְהָיָה֙ [3] Pashta
בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא [2] Munach Zaqef
 
יִדַּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
כְּב֣וֹד יַעֲקֹ֑ב [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וּמִשְׁמַ֥ן בְּשָׂר֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
יֵרָזֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq

in that day, [2]
 
that it will fade, [2]
the glory of Jacob; [1]
 
and the fatness of his flesh, [2]
it will grow lean. [1]
5 וְהָיָ֗ה [3] Revi'a
כֶּֽאֱסֹף֙ [3] Pashta
קָצִ֣יר קָמָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וּזְרֹע֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
שִׁבֳּלִ֣ים יִקְצ֑וֹר [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְהָיָ֛ה [3] Tevir
כִּמְלַקֵּ֥ט שִׁבֳּלִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בְּעֵ֥מֶק רְפָאִֽים׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

as when one gathers [3]
a harvest of the standing grain, [2]
 
and his arm [2]
reaps the heads; [1]
 
and it will be [3]
as when one gleans grain [2]
in the valley of Rephaim. [1]
6 וְנִשְׁאַר־בּ֤וֹ עֽוֹלֵלֹת֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
כְּנֹ֣קֶף זַ֔יִת [2] Munach Zaqef
 
שְׁנַ֧יִם שְׁלֹשָׁ֛ה [3] Darga Tevir
גַּרְגְּרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
בְּרֹ֣אשׁ אָמִ֑יר [1] Munach Etnachta
 
אַרְבָּעָ֣ה חֲמִשָּׁ֗ה [3] Munach Revi'a
בִּסְעִפֶ֙יהָ֙ [3] Pashta
פֹּֽרִיָּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

as when beating an olive tree, [2]
 
two or three [3]
olives [2]
at the very top; [1]
 
four or five [3]
on its branches [3]
that bear fruit,” [2]
 
says the LORD, [2]
the God of Israel. [1]
7 בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא [2] Munach Zaqef
יִשְׁעֶ֥ה הָאָדָ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
עַל־עֹשֵׂ֑הוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְעֵינָ֕יו [2] ZaqefG
אֶל־קְד֥וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Merkha Tip'cha
תִּרְאֶֽינָה׃ [1] Silluq

a man will look [2]
to his Maker; [1]
 
and his eyes, [2]
to the Holy One of Israel [2]
they will turn. [1]
8 וְלֹ֣א יִשְׁעֶ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
אֶל־הַֽמִּזְבְּח֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה יָדָ֑יו [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַאֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשׂ֤וּ אֶצְבְּעֹתָיו֙ [3] Qadma Mapakh Pashta
לֹ֣א יִרְאֶ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְהָאֲשֵׁרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וְהָֽחַמָּנִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

to the altars, [2]
the work of his hands; [1]
 
and what his fingers have made [3]
he will not see, [2]
 
or the Asherah poles [2]
or the incense altars. [1]

9 בַּיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא [4] Qadma Geresh
יִֽהְי֣וּ ׀ [4] Munach Legarmeh
עָרֵ֣י מָעוּזּ֗וֹ [3] Munach Revi'a
 
כַּעֲזוּבַ֤ת הַחֹ֙רֶשׁ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וְהָ֣אָמִ֔יר [2] Munach Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָֽזְב֔וּ [2] Munach Zaqef
מִפְּנֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְהָיְתָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
שְׁמָמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

his strong cities, [3]
 
like forsaken forests [3]
and treetops, [2]
 
which they abandoned [2]
because of [2]
the children of Israel; [1]
 
and it will be [2]
laid waste. [1]
10 כִּ֤י שָׁכַ֙חַתְּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׁעֵ֔ךְ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְצ֥וּר מָעֻזֵּ֖ךְ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לֹ֣א זָכָ֑רְתְּ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
עַל־כֵּ֗ן [3] Revi'a
תִּטְּעִי֙ [3] Pashta
נִטְעֵ֣י נַעֲמָנִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וּזְמֹ֥רַת זָ֖ר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
תִּזְרָעֶֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq

the God of your salvation, [2]
 
and the rock of your strength [2]
you have not remembered; [1]
 
therefore [3]
you plant [3]
delightful plants, [2]
 
and exotic vines [2]
you set out. [1]
11 בְּי֤וֹם נִטְעֵךְ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
תְּשַׂגְשֵׂ֔גִי [2] Zaqef
 
וּבַבֹּ֖קֶר [2] Tip'cha
זַרְעֵ֣ךְ תַּפְרִ֑יחִי [1] Munach Etnachta
 
נֵ֥ד קָצִ֛יר [3] Merkha Tevir
בְּי֥וֹם נַחֲלָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וּכְאֵ֥ב אָנֽוּשׁ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

you fence it in, [2]
 
and in the morning [2]
you make your seed to sprout; [1]
 
(but) the harvest will be a heap [3]
in a day of grief [2]
and incurable pain. [1]

וּשְׁא֣וֹן לְאֻמִּ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef
 
כִּשְׁא֛וֹן [3] Tevir
מַ֥יִם כַּבִּירִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
יִשָּׁאֽוּן׃ [1] Silluq

the uproar [3]
of many peoples, [2]
 
like the roaring of the seas, [2]
they roar; [1]
 
and the rumbling of nations, [2]
 
like the rumbling [3]
of mighty waters, [2]
they rumble! [1]
13 לְאֻמִּ֗ים [3] Revi'a
 
כִּשְׁא֞וֹן [4] Gershayim
מַ֤יִם רַבִּים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
יִשָּׁא֔וּן [2] Zaqef
 
וְגָ֥עַר בּ֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְנָ֣ס מִמֶּרְחָ֑ק [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְרֻדַּ֗ף [3] Revi'a
כְּמֹ֤ץ הָרִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לִפְנֵי־ר֔וּחַ [2] Zaqef
 
וּכְגַלְגַּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
לִפְנֵ֥י סוּפָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

like the rumbling [4]
of many waters [3]
they rumble, [2]
 
but he will rebuke them [2]
so they will flee far away; [1]
 
and they will be chased [3]
like chaff on the hills [3]
before the wind, [2]
 
and like whirling dust [2]
before the storm. [1]
14 לְעֵ֥ת עֶ֙רֶב֙ [3] Merkha Pashta
וְהִנֵּ֣ה בַלָּהָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
בְּטֶ֥רֶם בֹּ֖קֶר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֵינֶ֑נּוּ [1] Etnachta
 
זֶ֚ה [3] Yetiv
חֵ֣לֶק שׁוֹסֵ֔ינוּ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְגוֹרָ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
לְבֹזְזֵֽינוּ׃ [1] Silluq

behold, terror! [2]
 
Before morning [2]
they are no more; [1]
 
this [3]
is the reward of those who plunder us, [2]
 
and the lot [2]
of those who pillage us. [1]
