1 וַיְהִ֡י [4] Pazer
בִּימֵ֣י אָ֠חָ֠ז [4 4] TelishaG
בֶּן־יוֹתָ֨ם בֶּן־עֻזִּיָּ֜הוּ [4] Geresh
מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
 
עָלָ֣ה רְצִ֣ין מֶֽלֶךְ־אֲ֠רָ֠ם [4 4] TelishaG
וּפֶ֨קַח בֶּן־רְמַלְיָ֤הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ [3] Pashta
יְר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם [2] Zaqef
 
לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
עָלֶ֑יהָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְלֹ֥א יָכֹ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
לְהִלָּחֵ֥ם עָלֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq

the son of Jotham the son of Uzziah, [4]
the king of Judah, [3]
 
Rezin the king of Syria went up [4 4]
with Pekah the son of Remaliah the king of Israel, [3]
to Jerusalem, [2]
 
for battle [2]
against it; [1]
 
but he was not able [2]
to overpower it. [1]

לְבֵ֤ית דָּוִד֙ [3] Pashta

נָ֥חָה אֲרָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
עַל־אֶפְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיָּ֤נַע לְבָבוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
וּלְבַ֣ב עַמּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
כְּנ֥וֹעַ עֲצֵי־יַ֖עַר [2] Tip'cha
מִפְּנֵי־רֽוּחַ׃ [1] Silluq

to the house of David [3]

“Syria has allied itself [2]
with Ephraim;” [1]
 
and it shook his heart (of Ahaz) [3]
and the heart of his people, [2]
 
as the trees of the forest shake [2]
with the wind. [1]

3 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהֹוָה֮ [3] Zarqa
אֶֽל־יְשַֽׁעְיָ֒הוּ֒ [2 2] Segol
 
צֵא־נָא֙ [3] Pashta
לִקְרַ֣את אָחָ֔ז [2] Zaqef
 
אַתָּ֕ה [2] ZaqefG
וּשְׁאָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
יָשׁ֣וּב בְּנֶ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
אֶל־קְצֵ֗ה [3] Revi'i
תְּעָלַת֙ [3] Pashta
הַבְּרֵכָ֣ה הָעֶלְיוֹנָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
אֶל־מְסִלַּ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
שְׂדֵ֥ה כוֹבֵֽס׃ [1] Silluq

“Go out now [3]
to meet Ahaz, [2]
 
you, [2]
and Shear- [2]
Jashub your son, [1]
 
to the end [3]
of the conduit [3]
of the upper pool, [2]
 
to the highway [2]
of the field of the washer. [1]

הִשָּׁמֵ֨ר וְהַשְׁקֵ֜ט [4] Geresh
אַל־תִּירָ֗א [3] Revi'i
 
וּלְבָֽבְךָ֙ [3] Pashta
אַל־יֵרַ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef
 
מִשְּׁנֵ֨י זַנְב֧וֹת הָאוּדִ֛ים [3] Tevir
הָעֲשֵׁנִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
הָאֵ֑לֶּה [1] Etnachta
 
בׇּחֳרִי־אַ֛ף [3] Tevir
רְצִ֥ין וַאֲרָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וּבֶן־רְמַלְיָֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq

‘Be careful and keep calm; [4]
do not be afraid; [3]
 
and your heart, [3]
let it not be faint; [2]
 
because of the two stumps of firewood [3]
smoldering, [2]
these; [1]
 
by the heat of the anger [3]
of Rezin and Syria, [2]
and the son of Remaliah. [1]

כִּֽי־יָעַ֥ץ עָלֶ֛יךָ [3] Tevir
אֲרָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
רָעָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
אֶפְרַ֥יִם וּבֶן־רְמַלְיָ֖הוּ [2] Tip'cha
לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq

evil; [1]
 
Ephraim and the son of Remaliah [2]

6 נַעֲלֶ֤ה בִֽיהוּדָה֙ [3] Pashta
וּנְקִיצֶ֔נָּה [2] Zaqef
 
וְנַבְקִעֶ֖נָּה [2] Tip'cha
אֵלֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְנַמְלִ֥יךְ מֶ֙לֶךְ֙ [3 3] Pashta
בְּתוֹכָ֔הּ [2] Zaqef
 
אֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
בֶּן־טָֽבְאַֽל׃ [1] Silluq

and let us demolish it, [2]
 
and let us divide it [2]
among ourselves; [1]
 
and let us set up a king [3 3]
within it, [2]

7 כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
לֹ֥א תָק֖וּם [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֥א תִֽהְיֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 7 Thus he says, [2]
the Lord GOD, [1]
 
“It shall not stand, [2]
and it shall not happen.” [1]
8 כִּ֣י רֹ֤אשׁ אֲרָם֙ [3] Pashta
דַּמֶּ֔שֶׂק [2] Zaqef
 
וְרֹ֥אשׁ דַּמֶּ֖שֶׂק [2] Tip'cha
רְצִ֑ין [1] Etnachta
 
וּבְע֗וֹד [3] Revi'i
שִׁשִּׁ֤ים וְחָמֵשׁ֙ [3] Pashta
שָׁנָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
יֵחַ֥ת אֶפְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
מֵעָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

is Damascus, [2]
 
and the head of Damascus [2]
is Rezin. [1]
 
And within [3]
sixty and five [3]
years, [2]
 
Ephraim shall be shattered [2]
from being a people. [1]
9 וְרֹ֤אשׁ אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta
שֹׁמְר֔וֹן [2] Zaqef
 
וְרֹ֥אשׁ שֹׁמְר֖וֹן [2] Tip'cha
בֶּן־רְמַלְיָ֑הוּ [1] Etnachta
 
אִ֚ם [3] Yetiv
לֹ֣א תַאֲמִ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א תֵאָמֵֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq

is Samaria, [2]
 
and the head of Samaria [2]
is the son of Remaliah. [1]
 
If [3]
you will not believe, [2]
 
then [2]
you will not be established.’ ” [1]

10 וַיּ֣וֹסֶף יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
דַּבֵּ֥ר אֶל־אָחָ֖ז [2] Tip'cha
לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 10 And again the LORD [2]
spoke to Ahaz [2]
saying, [1]
11 שְׁאַל־לְךָ֣ א֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
מֵעִ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
הַעְמֵ֣ק שְׁאָ֔לָה [2] Zaqef
א֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
הַגְבֵּ֥הַּ לְמָֽעְלָה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 11 “Ask for yourself a sign [2]
from [2]
the LORD your God; [1]
 
whether in the deepest depths, [2]
or [2]
in the highest heights.” [1]
12 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha
אָחָ֑ז [1] Etnachta
 
לֹא־אֶשְׁאַ֥ל וְלֹֽא־אֲנַסֶּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 12 But he said, [2]
Ahaz, [1]
 
“I will not ask, and I will not put to the test [2]
the LORD.” [1]
13 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר [2] ZaqefG
שִׁמְעוּ־נָ֖א [2] Tip'cha
בֵּ֣ית דָּוִ֑ד [1] Etnachta
 
הַמְעַ֤ט מִכֶּם֙ [3] Pashta
הַלְא֣וֹת אֲנָשִׁ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י תַלְא֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
גַּ֥ם אֶת־אֱלֹהָֽי׃ [1] Silluq

“Listen now [2]
O house of David. [1]
 
Is it not enough for you [3]
to try the patience of men? [2]
 
Will you try the patience [2]
also of my God? [1]
14 לָ֠כֵ֠ן [4 4] TelishaG
יִתֵּ֨ן אֲדֹנָ֥י ה֛וּא [3] Tevir
לָכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
א֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
הִנֵּ֣ה הָעַלְמָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
הָרָה֙ [3] Pashta
וְיֹלֶ֣דֶת בֵּ֔ן [2] Zaqef
 
וְקָרָ֥את שְׁמ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
עִמָּ֥נוּ אֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq

the Lord himself will give [3]
to you [2]
a sign. [1]
 
Behold, the virgin [3]
will conceive [3]
and will bear a son, [2]
 
and she will call his name [2]
Immanuel. [1]
15 חֶמְאָ֥ה וּדְבַ֖שׁ [2] Tip'cha
יֹאכֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
לְדַעְתּ֛וֹ [3] Tevir
מָא֥וֹס בָּרָ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
וּבָח֥וֹר בַּטּֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq

he shall eat, [1]
 
when he knows enough [3]
to reject the evil [2]
and to choose the good. [1]
16 כִּ֠י [4] TelishaG
בְּטֶ֨רֶם יֵדַ֥ע הַנַּ֛עַר [3] Tevir
מָאֹ֥ס בָּרָ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
וּבָחֹ֣ר בַּטּ֑וֹב [1] Etnachta
 
תֵּעָזֵ֤ב הָאֲדָמָה֙ [3] Pashta
אֲשֶׁ֣ר אַתָּ֣ה קָ֔ץ [2] Zaqef
 
מִפְּנֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
שְׁנֵ֥י מְלָכֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq

before the child knows enough [3]
to reject the evil [2]
and to choose the good, [1]
 
the land shall be forsaken [3]
which brings you dread, [2]
 
of [2]
its two kings. [1]

לְמִיּ֥וֹם סוּר־אֶפְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
מֵעַ֣ל יְהוּדָ֑ה [1] Etnachta

מֶ֥לֶךְ אַשּֽׁוּר׃ [1] Silluq

which are unlike any [2]
 
since the day Ephraim departed [2]
from Judah; [1]

the king of Assyria. [1]
18 וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ [4] Legarmeh
בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא [3] Revi'i
 
יִשְׁרֹ֤ק יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
לַזְּב֔וּב [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר בִּקְצֵ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
יְאֹרֵ֣י מִצְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וְלַ֨דְּבוֹרָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
אֲשֶׁ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
בְּאֶ֥רֶץ אַשּֽׁוּר׃ [1] Silluq

in that day, [3]
 
the LORD will whistle [3]
for the fly, [2]
 
which is at the end [2]
of the rivers of Egypt; [1]
 
and for the bee [2]
which [2]
is in the land of Assyria. [1]
19 וּבָ֨אוּ וְנָח֤וּ כֻלָּם֙ [3] Pashta
בְּנַחֲלֵ֣י הַבַּתּ֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
וּבִנְקִיקֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
הַסְּלָעִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וּבְכֹל֙ [3] Pashta
הַנַּ֣עֲצוּצִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וּבְכֹ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
הַנַּֽהֲלֹלִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

in the steep ravines, [2]
 
and in the clefts [2]
of the rocks, [1]
 
and on all [3]
the thornbushes, [2]
 
and in all [2]
the watering places. [1]
20 בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֡וּא [4] Pazer
יְגַלַּ֣ח אֲדֹנָי֩ בְּתַ֨עַר הַשְּׂכִירָ֜ה [4] Geresh
בְּעֶבְרֵ֤י נָהָר֙ [3] Pashta
בְּמֶ֣לֶךְ אַשּׁ֔וּר [2] Zaqef
 
אֶת־הָרֹ֖אשׁ [2] Tip'cha
וְשַׂ֣עַר הָרַגְלָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וְגַ֥ם אֶת־הַזָּקָ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
תִּסְפֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq

the Lord will shave with a razor hired [4]
from beyond the River; [3]
with the king of Assyria; [2]
 
the head [2]
and the hair of the feet; [1]
 
and also the beard [2]
it will sweep away. [1]

בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֑וּא [1] Etnachta
 
יְחַיֶּה־אִ֛ישׁ [3] Tevir
עֶגְלַ֥ת בָּקָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
וּשְׁתֵּי־צֹֽאן׃ [1] Silluq

in that day, [1]
 
a man will keep alive [3]
a young cow, [2]
and two sheep. [1]
22 וְהָיָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
מֵרֹ֛ב [3] Tevir
עֲשׂ֥וֹת חָלָ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
יֹאכַ֣ל חֶמְאָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־חֶמְאָ֤ה וּדְבַשׁ֙ [3] Pashta
יֹאכֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
כׇּל־הַנּוֹתָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq

from the abundance [3]
of giving milk, [2]
he shall eat curds; [1]
 
for curds and honey [3]
they will eat, [2]
 
all who remain [2]
in the land. [1]

23 וְהָיָה֙ [3] Pashta
בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא [2] Zaqef
 
יִהְיֶ֣ה כׇל־מָק֗וֹם [3] Revi'i
אֲשֶׁ֧ר יִֽהְיֶה־שָּׁ֛ם [3] Tevir
אֶ֥לֶף גֶּ֖פֶן [2] Tip'cha
בְּאֶ֣לֶף כָּ֑סֶף [1] Etnachta
 
לַשָּׁמִ֥יר וְלַשַּׁ֖יִת [2] Tip'cha
יִֽהְיֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 3 2 23 And it will be [3]
in that day, [2]
 
that every place [3]
where there were [3]
a thousand vines [2]
for a thousand silver shekels; [1]
 
only thorns and bushes [2]
there will be. [1]
24 בַּחִצִּ֥ים וּבַקֶּ֖שֶׁת [2] Tip'cha
יָ֣בוֹא שָׁ֑מָּה [1] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־שָׁמִ֥יר וָשַׁ֖יִת [2] Tip'cha
תִּֽהְיֶ֥ה כׇל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 24 With arrows and with bow [2]
men will go there, [1]
 
because thorns and bushes [2]
all the land will be. [1]
25 וְכֹ֣ל הֶהָרִ֗ים [3] Revi'i
אֲשֶׁ֤ר בַּמַּעְדֵּר֙ [3] Pashta
יֵעָ֣דֵר֔וּן [2] Zaqef
 
לֹא־תָב֣וֹא שָׁ֔מָּה [2] Zaqef
יִרְאַ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
שָׁמִ֣יר וָשָׁ֑יִת [1] Etnachta
 
וְהָיָה֙ [3] Pashta
לְמִשְׁלַ֣ח שׁ֔וֹר [2] Zaqef
 
וּלְמִרְמַ֖ס [2] Tip'cha
שֶֽׂה׃ [1] Silluq

which with the hoe [3]
they were cultivated, [2]
 
you will not go there [2]
for fear [2]
of thorns and bushes; [1]
 
and it will become [3]
pastureland of oxen, [2]
 
and a trampling place [2]
of sheep.” [1]
