| 1 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta  אֵלַ֔י [2] Zaqef גִּלָּי֣וֹן גָּד֑וֹל [1] Etnachta בְּחֶ֣רֶט אֱנ֔וֹשׁ [2] Zaqef חָ֥שׁ בַּֽז׃ [1] Silluq  | 
1 And the LORD said [3]  to me, [2] a large tablet, [1] with a man’s stylus, [2] Hash Baz’; [1]  |

| 2 וְאָעִ֣ידָה לִּ֔י [2] Zaqef  עֵדִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha נֶֽאֱמָנִ֑ים [1] Etnachta אוּרִיָּ֣ה הַכֹּהֵ֔ן [2] Zaqef בֶּ֥ן יְבֶרֶכְיָֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq  | 
2 and I will call in for myself [2]  as witnesses [2] reliable; [1] Uriah the priest, [2] the son of Jeberechiah.” [1]  |

| 3 וָֽאֶקְרַב֙ [3] Pashta  אֶל־הַנְּבִיאָ֔ה [2] Zaqef וַתֵּ֣לֶד בֵּ֑ן [1] Etnachta ס אֵלַ֔י [2] Zaqef מַהֵ֥ר שָׁלָ֖ל [2] Tip'cha חָ֥שׁ בַּֽז׃ [1] Silluq  | 
3 Then I drew near [3]  to the prophetess, [2] and she bore a son. [1] § to me, [2] ‘Maher Shalal [2] Hash Baz.’ [1]  |

| 4 כִּ֗י [3] Revi'i  בְּטֶ֙רֶם֙ [3 3] Pashta יֵדַ֣ע הַנַּ֔עַר [2] Zaqef אָבִ֣י וְאִמִּ֑י [1] Etnachta אֶת־חֵ֣יל דַּמֶּ֗שֶׂק [3] Revi'i שְׁלַ֣ל שֹֽׁמְר֔וֹן [2] Zaqef מֶ֥לֶךְ אַשּֽׁוּר׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
4 For [3]  before [3 3] the child knows [2] ‘my father’ and ‘my mother,’ [1] the wealth of Damascus [3] the plunder of Samaria, [2] the king of Assyria.” [1] §  |

| 5 וַיֹּ֣סֶף יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef  ע֖וֹד [2] Tip'cha לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq  | 
5 And the LORD [2]  again [2] saying, [1]  |

| 6 יַ֗עַן [3] Revi'i  כִּ֤י מָאַס֙ [3] Pashta הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef מֵ֣י הַשִּׁלֹ֔חַ [2] Zaqef לְאַ֑ט [1] Etnachta וּבֶן־רְמַלְיָֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq  | 
6 “Because [3]  they have rejected, [3] this people, [2] the waters of Shiloah [2] gently, [1] and the son of Remaliah; [1]  |

| 7 וְלָכֵ֡ן [4] Pazer  הִנֵּ֣ה אֲדֹנָי֩ מַעֲלֶ֨ה עֲלֵיהֶ֜ם [4] Geresh אֶת־מֵ֣י הַנָּהָ֗ר [3] Revi'i וְהָ֣רַבִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef וְאֶת־כׇּל־כְּבוֹד֑וֹ [1] Etnachta עַל־כׇּל־אֲפִיקָ֔יו [2] Zaqef עַל־כׇּל־גְּדוֹתָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq  | 
7 therefore [4]  behold, the Lord is bringing upon them [4] the waters of the River [3] and many; [2] and all his glory. [1] over all its channels, [2] over all its banks. [1]  |

| 8 וְחָלַ֤ף בִּֽיהוּדָה֙ [3] Pashta  שָׁטַ֣ף וְעָבַ֔ר [2] Zaqef יַגִּ֑יעַ [1] Etnachta מֻטּ֣וֹת כְּנָפָ֔יו [2] Zaqef עִמָּ֥נוּ אֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
8 And it will sweep on into Judah; [3]  it will overflow and it will pass through; [2] it will reach; [1] the spreading of its wings [2] O Immanuel. [1] §  |

| 9 רֹ֤עוּ עַמִּים֙ [3] Pashta  וָחֹ֔תּוּ [2] Zaqef כֹּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha מֶרְחַקֵּי־אָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta הִֽתְאַזְּר֖וּ [2] Tip'cha וָחֹֽתּוּ׃ [1] Silluq  | 
9 Make an uproar O peoples, [3]  and be shattered! [2] all [2] distant places of the earth; [1] Prepare for battle, [2] and be shattered! [1]  |

| 10 עֻ֥צוּ עֵצָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha  וְתֻפָ֑ר [1] Etnachta וְלֹ֣א יָק֔וּם [2] Zaqef אֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
10 Devise a strategy, [2]  but it will be frustrated; [1] but it will not stand, [2] is God.” [1] §  |

| 11 כִּי֩ כֹ֨ה אָמַ֧ר יְהֹוָ֛ה [3] Tevir  אֵלַ֖י [2] Tip'cha כְּחֶזְקַ֣ת הַיָּ֑ד [1] Etnachta בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ הָֽעָם־הַזֶּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq  | 
11 The LORD said this [3]  to me [2] with his strong hand upon me, [1] in the way of this people, [2] saying, [1]  |

| 12 לֹֽא־תֹאמְר֣וּן קֶ֔שֶׁר [2] Zaqef  הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha קָ֑שֶׁר [1] Etnachta וְלֹ֥א תַעֲרִֽיצוּ׃ [1] Silluq  | 
12 “Do not call conspiracy [2]  these people, [2] conspiracy; [1] and do not dread it. [1]  |

| 13 אֶת־יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha  אֹת֣וֹ תַקְדִּ֑ישׁוּ [1] Etnachta וְה֥וּא מַעֲרִֽצְכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq  | 
13 The LORD of Hosts [2]  is the one you are to regard as holy. [1] he is the one you are to dread. [1]  |

| 14 וְהָיָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha  לְמִקְדָּ֑שׁ [1] Etnachta וּלְצ֨וּר מִכְשׁ֜וֹל [4] Geresh לִשְׁנֵ֨י בָתֵּ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ [3] Pashta לְפַ֣ח וּלְמוֹקֵ֔שׁ [2] Zaqef יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ [1] Silluq  | 
14 And he will be [2]  a sanctuary; [1] and a rock that makes them fall [4] for both houses of Israel; [3] (he will be) a trap and a snare; [2] of Jerusalem. [1]  |

| 15 וְכָ֥שְׁלוּ בָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha  רַבִּ֑ים [1] Etnachta וְנוֹקְשׁ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha וְנִלְכָּֽדוּ׃ [1] Silluq פ  | 
15 And they will stumble, [2]  many of them; [1] they will be snared [2] and they will be captured.” [1] §  |

| 16 צ֖וֹר [2] Tip'cha  תְּעוּדָ֑ה [1] Etnachta בְּלִמֻּדָֽי׃ [1] Silluq  | 
16 Bind up [2]  the testimony; [1] among my disciples. [1]  | 
|||
| 17 וְחִכִּ֙יתִי֙ [3 3] Pashta  לַיהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef מִבֵּ֣ית יַעֲקֹ֑ב [1] Etnachta  | 
17 And I will wait [3 3]  for the LORD, [2] from the house of Jacob; [1]  |

| 18 הִנֵּ֣ה אָנֹכִ֗י [3] Revi'i  וְהַיְלָדִים֙ [3] Pashta אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָתַן־לִ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת [2] Zaqef בְּהַ֥ר צִיּֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
18 Here am I, [3]  and the children [3] which the LORD has given me; [2] in Israel; [1] the LORD of Hosts, [2] on Mount Zion. [1] §  |

| 19 וְכִֽי־יֹאמְר֣וּ אֲלֵיכֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i  דִּרְשׁ֤וּ אֶל־הָֽאֹבוֹת֙ [3] Pashta וְאֶל־הַיִּדְּעֹנִ֔ים [2] Zaqef וְהַמַּהְגִּ֑ים [1] Etnachta אֶל־אֱלֹהָ֣יו יִדְרֹ֔שׁ [2] Zaqef אֶל־הַמֵּתִֽים׃ [1] Silluq  | 
19 When men tell you [3]  to consult mediums [3] and spiritists, [2] and mutter; [1] inquire of their God? [2] why consult the dead? [1]  |

| 20 לְתוֹרָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha  וְלִתְעוּדָ֑ה [1] Etnachta כַּדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef שָֽׁחַר׃ [1] Silluq  | 
20 To the law [2]  and to the testimony! [1] according to this word, [2] of dawn. [1]  |

| 21 וְעָ֥בַר בָּ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha  נִקְשֶׁ֣ה וְרָעֵ֑ב [1] Etnachta וְהִתְקַצַּ֗ף [3] Revi'i וּבֵאלֹהָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha  | 
21 They will roam through the land [2]  distressed and hungry; [1] they will become enraged, [3] and their God, [2]  |

| 22 וְאֶל־אֶ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha  יַבִּ֑יט [1] Etnachta מְע֣וּף צוּקָ֔ה [2] Zaqef מְנֻדָּֽח׃ [1] Silluq  | 
22 Then toward the earth [2]  they will look; [1] of fearful gloom, [2] they will be thrust. [1]  |

| 23 כִּ֣י לֹ֣א מוּעָף֮ [3] Zarqa  לַאֲשֶׁ֣ר מוּצָ֣ק לָהּ֒ [2] Segol אַ֤רְצָה זְבֻלוּן֙ [3] Pashta וְאַ֣רְצָה נַפְתָּלִ֔י [2] Zaqef הִכְבִּ֑יד [1] Etnachta עֵ֣בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן [2] Zaqef הַגּוֹיִֽם׃ [1] Silluq  | 
1 But there shall be no more gloom [3]  for those who were in distress. [2] the land of Zebulun [3] and the land of Naphtali; [2] he will honor, [1] beyond the Jordan, [2] of the Gentiles. [1]  |
