1 וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב [3/2] Revi'i וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
1 Then Job answered [3/2] and he said, [1] |

2 אׇ֭מְנָם [3] Dechi כִּ֣י אַתֶּם־עָ֑ם [2] Etnachta תָּמ֥וּת חׇכְמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
2 “Truly [3] then you are the people; [2] wisdom will die. [1] |
|||
3 גַּם־לִ֤י לֵבָ֨ב ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh כְּֽמוֹכֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i מִכֶּ֑ם [2] Etnachta |
3 But I too have understanding [4] like you, [3] more than you; [2] |

4 שְׂחֹ֤ק לְרֵעֵ֨הוּ ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh אֶהְיֶ֗ה [3] Revi'i וַֽיַּעֲנֵ֑הוּ [2] Etnachta צַדִּ֥יק תָּמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
4 A laughingstock to his neighbor [4] I am, [3] and he answered him; [2] is the just, the blameless. [1] |

5 לַפִּ֣יד בּ֭וּז [3] Dechi לְעַשְׁתּ֣וּת שַׁאֲנָ֑ן [2] Etnachta לְמ֣וֹעֲדֵי רָֽגֶל׃ [1] Silluq |
5 There is contempt for misfortune [3] in the thought of one who is at ease; [2] belongs to those whose feet are slipping. [1] |

6 יִשְׁלָ֤יוּ אֹהָלִ֨ים ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh לְשֹׁ֥דְדִ֗ים [3] Revi'i לְמַרְגִּ֣יזֵי אֵ֑ל [2] Etnachta בְּיָדֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
6 They are at ease, the tents [4] of destroyers, [3] belongs to those who provoke God; [2] in his hand. [1] |

7 וְֽאוּלָ֗ם [3] Revi'i שְׁאַל־נָ֣א בְהֵמ֣וֹת [3] VDechi וְתֹרֶ֑ךָּ [2] Etnachta וְיַגֶּד־לָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq |
7 “But [3] ask now the animals [3] and they will teach you; [2] and they will tell you, [1] |

8 א֤וֹ שִׂ֣יחַ לָאָ֣רֶץ [3] VDechi וְתֹרֶ֑ךָּ [2] Etnachta דְּגֵ֣י הַיָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
8 or speak to the earth [3] and it will teach you; [2] the fish of the sea. [1] |

9 מִ֭י [3] Dechi לֹא־יָדַ֣ע בְּכׇל־אֵ֑לֶּה [2] Etnachta עָ֣שְׂתָה זֹּֽאת׃ [1] Silluq |
9 Which [3] of all these does not know; [2] it has done this, [1] |

10 אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּ֭יָדוֹ [3] Dechi נֶ֣פֶשׁ כׇּל־חָ֑י [2] Etnachta כׇּל־בְּשַׂר־אִֽישׁ׃ [1] Silluq |
10 in whose hand [3] is the life of every living thing; [2] of all mankind? [1] |

11 הֲלֹא־אֹ֭זֶן [3] Dechi מִלִּ֣ין תִּבְחָ֑ן [2] Etnachta אֹ֣כֶל יִטְעַם־לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
11 Does not the ear [3] test words; [2] tastes its food? [1] |

12 בִּישִׁישִׁ֥ים חׇכְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta תְּבוּנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
12 With the aged is wisdom; [2] understanding. [1] |

13 עִ֭מּוֹ [3] Dechi חׇכְמָ֣ה וּגְבוּרָ֑ה [2] Etnachta עֵצָ֥ה וּתְבוּנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
13 “With him [3] are wisdom and might; [2] counsel and understanding. [1] |

14 הֵ֣ן יַ֭הֲרוֹס [3] Dechi וְלֹ֣א יִבָּנֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta וְלֹ֣א יִפָּתֵֽחַ׃ [1] Silluq |
14 Behold what he tears down, [3] it cannot be rebuilt; [2] it cannot be opened. [1] |

15 הֵ֤ן יַעְצֹ֣ר בַּמַּ֣יִם [3] VDechi וְיִבָ֑שׁוּ [2] Etnachta וְיַ֖הַפְכוּ אָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
15 Behold he holds back the waters [3] and they dry up; [2] and they devastate the earth. [1] |

16 עִ֭מּוֹ [3] Dechi עֹ֣ז וְתוּשִׁיָּ֑ה [2] Etnachta שֹׁגֵ֥ג וּמַשְׁגֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
16 With him [3] are strength and sound wisdom; [2] the deceived and the deceiver. [1] |

17 מוֹלִ֣יךְ יוֹעֲצִ֣ים [3] VDechi שׁוֹלָ֑ל [2] Etnachta |
17 He leads away counselors [3] stripped; [2] |
|||
18 מוּסַ֣ר מְלָכִ֣ים [3] VDechi פִּתֵּ֑חַ [2] Etnachta בְּמׇתְנֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
18 The correction of kings [3] he loosens; [2] on their loins. [1] |
|||
19 מוֹלִ֣יךְ כֹּהֲנִ֣ים [3] VDechi שׁוֹלָ֑ל [2] Etnachta יְסַלֵּֽף׃ [1] Silluq |
19 He leads away priests [3] stripped; [2] he overthrows. [1] |
|||
20 מֵסִ֣יר שָׂ֭פָה [3] Dechi לְנֶאֱמָנִ֑ים [2] Etnachta יִקָּֽח׃ [1] Silluq |
20 He removes the speech [3] of those who are trusted; [2] he takes away. [1] |
|||
21 שׁוֹפֵ֣ךְ בּ֭וּז [3] Dechi עַל־נְדִיבִ֑ים [2] Etnachta רִפָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
21 He pours contempt [3] on princes; [2] he loosens. [1] |
|||
22 מְגַלֶּ֣ה עֲ֭מֻקוֹת [3] Dechi מִנִּי־חֹ֑שֶׁךְ [2] Etnachta צַלְמָֽוֶת׃ [1] Silluq |
22 He uncovers deep things [3] out of darkness; [2] deep darkness. [1] |

23 מַשְׂגִּ֣יא לַ֭גּוֹיִם [3] Dechi וַֽיְאַבְּדֵ֑ם [2] Etnachta וַיַּנְחֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
23 He makes nations great, [3] and he destroys them; [2] and he leads them away. [1] |

24 מֵסִ֗יר [3] Revi'i לֵ֭ב [3] Dechi רָאשֵׁ֣י עַם־הָאָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta בְּתֹ֣הוּ לֹא־דָֽרֶךְ׃ [1] Silluq |
24 He takes away [3] the understanding [3] of the leaders of the people of the earth; [2] in a pathless wasteland. [1] |

25 יְמַֽשְׁשׁוּ־חֹ֥שֶׁךְ וְלֹא־א֑וֹר [2] Etnachta כַּשִּׁכּֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq |
25 They grope in darkness with no light; [2] like a drunkard. [1] |
