[1] Silluq |
1 Then he answered, [3] Eliphaz the Temanite, [3/2] and he said, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
2 “To God can a man be of use? [2] the wise? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
3 Is it any pleasure to the Almighty [3] if you are righteous; [2] if you make your ways blameless? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
4 Is it for your reverence [3] that he reproves you; [2] into judgment? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
5 Is not your wickedness [3] great; [2] to your iniquities? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
6 For you have taken a pledge of your brothers [3] for no reason; [2] you have stripped off. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
7 No water [3] have you given the weary to drink; [2] you have withheld bread. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
8 But a mighty one, [3] he owned the land; [2] he lived in it. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
9 Widows [3] you have sent away empty; [2] have been crushed. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
10 That is why [3] snares surround you; [2] sudden fear, [1] |
[2] Etnachta |
11 or it is so dark that you can not see; [2] |
[1] Silluq |
12 “Is not God [3] in the heights of heaven? [2] how high they are! [1] |
[1] Silluq |
13 But you say, [3] ‘What does God know; [2] can he judge? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
14 Thick clouds veil him [3] and he does not see; [2] he walks.’ [1] |
[1] Silluq |
15 The old way [3] will you keep; [2] wicked men, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
16 who were snatched away before their time; [2] their foundation was washed away, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
17 who said to God, [3] ‘Depart from us,’ [2] to them? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
18 Yet he, he filled their houses [3] with good things; [2] it is far from me. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
19 The righteous see [3] and they rejoice; [2] he mocks them. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
20 ‘Surely he is cut off, [3] our adversary; [2] fire consumes.’ [1] |
[1] Silluq |
21 “Reconcile now with Him [3] and be at peace; [2] good will come to you. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
22 Please accept from his mouth [3] instruction; [2] in your heart. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
23 If you return to the Almighty [3] you will be built up; [2] from your tent, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
24 and lay your gold in the dust; [2] the gold of Ophir. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
25 Then the Almighty will be [3] your gold; [2] to you. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
26 For then [3] in the Almighty you will take delight; [2] your face. [1] |
[2] Etnachta |
27 You will pray to him [3] and he will hear you; [2] |
[1] Silluq |
28 And you will decide a matter, [3] and it will be done for you; [2] light will shine. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
29 When people are brought low [3] and you say, ‘Arise,’ [2] he will save. [1] |
