1 וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב [3/2] Revi'i
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 1 Then Job answered [3/2]
and he said, [1]
2 שִׁמְע֣וּ שָׁ֭מוֹעַ [3] Dechi
מִלָּתִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וּתְהִי־זֹ֝֗את [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תַּנְח֥וּמֹֽתֵיכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 “Listen carefully to [3]
my words; [2]
 
and let this be [2]
your consolation. [1]
3 שָׂ֭אוּנִי [3] Dechi
וְאָנֹכִ֣י אֲדַבֵּ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
וְאַחַ֖ר דַּבְּרִ֣י [2] VRevMug
תַלְעִֽיג׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 Bear with me [3]
and I, I will speak; [2]
 
and after I have spoken [2]
you can mock. [1]
4 הֶ֭אָנֹכִי [3] Dechi
לְאָדָ֣ם שִׂיחִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וְאִם־מַ֝דּ֗וּעַ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹֽא־תִקְצַ֥ר רוּחִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 As for me, [3]
is my complaint against man? [2]
 
Then why [2]
should I not be impatient? [1]
5 פְּנוּ־אֵלַ֥י וְהָשַׁ֑מּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְשִׂ֖ימוּ יָ֣ד [2] VRevMug
עַל־פֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 5 Look at me and be appalled; [2]
 
and put hand [2]
over mouth. [1]
6 וְאִם־זָכַ֥רְתִּי וְנִבְהָ֑לְתִּי [2] Etnachta
 
וְאָחַ֥ז בְּ֝שָׂרִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
פַּלָּצֽוּת׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 6 When I remember, I am troubled; [2]
 
and it seizes my flesh, [2]
shuddering. [1]
7 מַ֭דּוּעַ [3] Dechi
רְשָׁעִ֣ים יִֽחְי֑וּ [2] Etnachta
 
עָ֝תְק֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
גַּם־גָּ֥בְרוּ חָֽיִל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 “Why the wicked, [3]
do they live; [2]
 
they grow old [2]
and they increase in strength? [1]
8 זַרְעָ֤ם נָכ֣וֹן לִפְנֵיהֶ֣ם [3] VDechi
עִמָּ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝צֶאֱצָאֵיהֶ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 Their children are established in their presence [3]
with them; [2]
 
and their descendants [2]
before their eyes. [1]
9 בָּתֵּיהֶ֣ם שָׁל֣וֹם [3] VDechi
מִפָּ֑חַד [2] Etnachta
 
וְלֹ֤א שֵׁ֖בֶט אֱל֣וֹהַּ [2] VRevMug
עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 Their houses are safe [3]
from fear; [2]
 
and the rod of God is not [2]
upon them. [1]
10 שׁוֹר֣וֹ עִ֭בַּר [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א יַגְעִ֑ל [2] Etnachta
 
תְּפַלֵּ֥ט פָּ֝רָת֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְלֹ֣א תְשַׁכֵּֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 His bull breeds [3]
without fail; [2]
 
his cow calves [2]
and doesn’t miscarry. [1]
11 יְשַׁלְּח֣וּ כַ֭צֹּאן [3] Dechi
עֲוִילֵיהֶ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝יַלְדֵיהֶ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יְרַקֵּדֽוּן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 They send out like a flock [3]
their little ones; [2]
 
and their children, [2]
they dance. [1]
12 יִ֭שְׂאוּ [3] Dechi
כְּתֹ֣ף וְכִנּ֑וֹר [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝יִשְׂמְח֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְק֣וֹל עוּגָֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 They sing [3]
to the tambourine and harp; [2]
 
and they rejoice [2]
to the sound of the flute. [1]
13 *יבלו **יְכַלּ֣וּ בַטּ֣וֹב [3] VDechi
יְמֵיהֶ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝בְרֶ֗גַע [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שְׁא֣וֹל יֵחָֽתּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 They finish out in prosperity [3]
their days; [2]
 
and in a moment [2]
they go down to Sheol. [1]
14 וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ לָ֭אֵל [3] Dechi
ס֣וּר מִמֶּ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְדַ֥עַת דְּ֝רָכֶ֗יךָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א חָפָֽצְנוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 Yet they say to God, [3]
‘Depart from us; [2]
 
for the knowledge of your ways [2]
we do not desire. [1]
15 מַה־שַּׁדַּ֥י כִּֽי־נַעַבְדֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וּמַה־נּ֝וֹעִ֗יל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּ֣י נִפְגַּע־בּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 15 What is the Almighty that we should serve him; [2]
 
and what will we gain [2]
if we pray to him?’ [1]
16 הֵ֤ן לֹ֣א בְיָדָ֣ם [3] VDechi
טוּבָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
עֲצַ֥ת רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
רָ֣חֲקָה מֶֽנִּי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 Behold, not in their own hand [3]
is their prosperity; [2]
 
the counsel of the wicked, [2]
it is far from me. [1]
17 כַּמָּ֤ה ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
נֵר־רְשָׁ֘עִ֤ים יִדְעָ֗ךְ [3] Revi'i
 
וְיָבֹ֣א עָלֵ֣ימוֹ [3] VDechi
אֵידָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
חֲ֝בָלִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יְחַלֵּ֥ק בְּאַפּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 3 2 17 “How often is it [4]
that the lamp of the wicked is extinguished, [3]
 
and it comes upon them, [3]
their calamity; [2]
 
pains [2]
He allots in his anger? [1]
18 יִֽהְי֗וּ [3] Revi'i
כְּתֶ֥בֶן לִפְנֵי־ר֑וּחַ [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝כְמֹ֗ץ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
גְּנָבַ֥תּוּ סוּפָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 that they [3]
are like straw before the wind; [2]
 
and like chaff [2]
that a storm carries away? [1]
19 אֱל֗וֹהַּ [3] Revi'i
יִצְפֹּן־לְבָנָ֥יו אוֹנ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
יְשַׁלֵּ֖ם אֵלָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
וְיֵדָֽע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 God, [3]
he stores up for his children his punishment. [2]
 
Let him repay it to himself, [2]
that he may know. [1]
20 יִרְא֣וּ עֵינָ֣ו [3] VDechi
כִּיד֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וּמֵחֲמַ֖ת שַׁדַּ֣י [2] VRevMug
יִשְׁתֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 Let his own eyes see [3]
his destruction; [2]
 
and from the wrath of the Almighty [2]
let him drink. [1]
21 כִּ֤י מַה־חֶפְצ֣וֹ בְּבֵית֣וֹ [3] VDechi
אַחֲרָ֑יו [2] Etnachta
 
וּמִסְפַּ֖ר חֳדָשָׁ֣יו [2] VRevMug
חֻצָּֽצוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 For what does he care for his household [3]
after him; [2]
 
when the number of his months [2]
is cut off? [1]
22 הַלְאֵ֥ל יְלַמֶּד־דָּ֑עַת [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝ה֗וּא [2] Revi'i Mugrash
רָמִ֥ים יִשְׁפּֽוֹט׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 22 “Shall anyone teach God knowledge; [2]
 
since he, [2]
he judges those who are on high? [1]
23 זֶ֗ה [3] Revi'i
יָ֭מוּת [3] Dechi
בְּעֶ֣צֶם תֻּמּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
כֻּ֝לּ֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שַׁלְאֲנַ֥ן וְשָׁלֵֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 23 One, [3]
he will die [3]
in his full strength; [2]
 
wholly [2]
secure and at ease. [1]
24 עֲ֭טִינָיו [3] Dechi
מָלְא֣וּ חָלָ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
וּמֹ֖חַ עַצְמוֹתָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
יְשֻׁקֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 His pails, [3]
they are full of milk; [2]
 
and the marrow of his bones, [2]
it is moist. [1]
25 וְזֶ֗ה [3] Revi'i
יָ֭מוּת [3] Dechi
בְּנֶ֣פֶשׁ מָרָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְלֹֽא־אָ֝כַ֗ל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בַּטּוֹבָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 25 Yet another, [3]
he will die [3]
in bitterness of soul; [2]
 
with his never having tasted [2]
goodness. [1]
26 יַ֭חַד [3] Dechi
עַל־עָפָ֣ר יִשְׁכָּ֑בוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝רִמָּ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תְּכַסֶּ֥ה עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 Together [3]
they will lie in the dust; [2]
 
and the worm, [2]
it will cover over them. [1]
27 הֵ֣ן יָ֭דַעְתִּי [3] Dechi
מַחְשְׁבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝מְזִמּ֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עָלַ֥י תַּחְמֹֽסוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 27 “Behold, I know [3]
your thoughts; [2]
 
and the schemes [2]
by which you would wrong me. [1]
28 כִּ֤י תֹאמְר֗וּ [3] Revi'i
אַיֵּ֥ה בֵית־נָדִ֑יב [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝אַיֵּ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֹ֤הֶל ׀ [4/2] Mahpakh Legarmeh
מִשְׁכְּנ֬וֹת רְשָׁעִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 28 For you say, [3]
‘Where is the house of the prince; [2]
 
and where [2]
is the tent [4/2]
in which the wicked lived?’ [1]
29 הֲלֹ֣א שְׁ֭אֶלְתֶּם [3] Dechi
ע֣וֹבְרֵי דָ֑רֶךְ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝אֹתֹתָ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א תְנַכֵּֽרוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 29 Haven’t you asked [3]
those who travel the roads; [2]
 
and their testimony [2]
don't you accept? [1]
30 כִּ֤י לְי֣וֹם אֵ֭יד [3] Dechi
יֵחָ֣שֶׂךְ רָ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
לְי֖וֹם עֲבָר֣וֹת [2] VRevMug
יוּבָֽלוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 30 that for the day of calamity [3]
the wicked are reserved; [2]
 
for the day of wrath [2]
they are brought forth? [1]
31 מִֽי־יַגִּ֣יד עַל־פָּנָ֣יו [3] VDechi
דַּרְכּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְהוּא־עָ֝שָׂ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִ֣י יְשַׁלֶּם־לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 31 Who will declare to his face [3]
his way; [2]
 
and (for) what he, he has done, [2]
who will repay him? [1]
32 וְ֭הוּא [3] Dechi
לִקְבָר֣וֹת יוּבָ֑ל [2] Etnachta
 
וְֽעַל־גָּדִ֥ישׁ יִשְׁקֽוֹד׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 32 And he, [3]
he will be borne to the grave; [2]
 
and over the tomb they will keep watch. [1]
33 מָֽתְקוּ־ל֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
רִגְבֵ֫י נָ֥חַל [2] Ole Veyored
 
וְ֭אַחֲרָיו [3] Dechi
כׇּל־אָדָ֣ם יִמְשׁ֑וֹךְ [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝לְפָנָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֵ֣ין מִסְפָּֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 33 It will be sweet to him, [3]
the soil of the valley; [2]
 
and after him [3]
all men will follow, [2]
 
and before him [2]
countless others. [1]
34 וְ֭אֵיךְ [3] Dechi
תְּנַחֲמ֣וּנִי הָ֑בֶל [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝תְשׁ֥וּבֹתֵיכֶ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
נִשְׁאַר־מָֽעַל׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 2 34 So how [3]
will your emptiness comfort me; [2]
 
when (in) your answers [2]
there remains only falsehood?” [1]
