איוב 23 Job 23
1 וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב [3/2] Revi'i
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 1 Then Job answered [3/2]
and he said, [1]
2 גַּם־הַ֭יּוֹם [3] Dechi
מְרִ֣י שִׂחִ֑י [2] Etnachta

יָ֝דִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כָּבְדָ֥ה עַל־אַנְחָתִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 “Even today [3]
my complaint is rebellious; [2]

my hand, [2]
it is heavy because of my groaning. [1]
3 מִֽי־יִתֵּ֣ן יָ֭דַעְתִּי [3] Dechi
וְאֶמְצָאֵ֑הוּ [2] Etnachta

אָ֝ב֗וֹא [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַד־תְּכוּנָתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 Oh that I knew [3]
where I might find him; [2]

that I might come [2]
to his dwelling! [1]
4 אֶעֶרְכָ֣ה לְפָנָ֣יו [3] VDechi
מִשְׁפָּ֑ט [2] Etnachta

וּ֝פִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֲמַלֵּ֥א תוֹכָחֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 Let me lay out before him [3]
a case; [2]

and my mouth [2]
let me fill with arguments. [1]
5 אֵ֭דְעָה [3] Dechi
מִלִּ֣ים יַעֲנֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta

וְ֝אָבִ֗ינָה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מַה־יֹּ֥אמַר לִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 I want to know [3]
the words which he would answer me; [2]

and I want to understand [2]
what he would say to me. [1]
6 הַבְּרׇב־כֹּ֭חַ [3] Dechi
יָרִ֣יב עִמָּדִ֑י [2] Etnachta

לֹ֥א אַךְ־ה֝֗וּא [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יָשִׂ֥ם בִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 With great power [3]
would he contend with me? [2]

Surely not he, [2]
he would pay attention to me. [1]
7 שָׁ֗ם [3] Revi'i
יָ֭שָׁר [3] Dechi
נוֹכָ֣ח עִמּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta

וַאֲפַלְּטָ֥ה לָ֝נֶ֗צַח [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִשֹּׁפְטִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 7 There [3]
the upright [3]
would reason with him; [2]

and I would be delivered forever [2]
from my judge. [1]
8 הֵ֤ן קֶ֣דֶם אֶהֱלֹ֣ךְ [3] VDechi
וְאֵינֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta

וְ֝אָח֗וֹר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְֽלֹא־אָבִ֥ין לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 “Behold, I go forward/east [3]
but he is not; [2]

and backward/west [2]
but I don't perceive Him, [1]
9 שְׂמֹ֣אול בַּעֲשֹׂת֣וֹ [3] VDechi
וְלֹא־אָ֑חַז [2] Etnachta

יַעְטֹ֥ף יָ֝מִ֗ין [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְלֹ֣א אֶרְאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 on the left/north when he works [3]
I don't see; [2]

he turns right/south [2]
and I don't see. [1]
10 כִּֽי־יָ֭דַע [3] Dechi
דֶּ֣רֶךְ עִמָּדִ֑י [2] Etnachta

בְּ֝חָנַ֗נִי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כַּזָּהָ֥ב אֵצֵֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 But he knows [3]
the way that I take; [2]

when he has tested me [2]
like gold I will come forth. [1]
11 בַּ֭אֲשֻׁרוֹ [3] Dechi
אָחֲזָ֣ה רַגְלִ֑י [2] Etnachta

דַּרְכּ֖וֹ שָׁמַ֣רְתִּי [2] VRevMug
וְלֹא־אָֽט׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 To his steps [3]
my foot has held fast; [2]

his way I have kept [2]
and I have not turned aside, [1]
12 מִצְוַ֣ת שְׂ֭פָתָיו [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א אָמִ֑ישׁ [2] Etnachta

מֵ֝חֻקִּ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
צָפַ֥נְתִּי אִמְרֵי־פִֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 - the commandment of his lips [3]
and I have not departed; [2]

more than my portion of food [2]
I have treasured the words of his mouth. [1]
13 וְה֣וּא בְ֭אֶחָד [3] Dechi
וּמִ֣י יְשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta

וְנַפְשׁ֖וֹ אִוְּתָ֣ה [2] VRevMug
וַיָּֽעַשׂ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 But he stands alone, [3]
and who can turn him back? [2]

And whatever his soul has desired, [2]
that he has done. [1]
14 כִּ֭י [3] Dechi
יַשְׁלִ֣ים חֻקִּ֑י [2] Etnachta

וְכָהֵ֖נָּה רַבּ֣וֹת [2] VRevMug
עִמּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 For [3]
he completes that which is appointed for me; [2]

and many such things [2]
are with him. [1]
15 עַל־כֵּ֭ן [3] Dechi
מִפָּנָ֣יו אֶבָּהֵ֑ל [2] Etnachta

אֶ֝תְבּוֹנֵ֗ן [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְאֶפְחַ֥ד מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 Therefore [3]
I am terrified at his presence; [2]

I consider, [2]
and I am in dread of him. [1]
16 וְ֭אֵל [3] Dechi
הֵרַ֣ךְ לִבִּ֑י [2] Etnachta

וְ֝שַׁדַּ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
הִבְהִילָֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 For God, [3]
he has made my heart faint; [2]

and the Almighty, [2]
he has terrified me. [1]
17 כִּֽי־לֹ֣א נִ֭צְמַתִּי [3] Dechi
מִפְּנֵי־חֹ֑שֶׁךְ [2] Etnachta

וּ֝מִפָּנַ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּסָּה־אֹֽפֶל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 For I have not been cut off [3]
from facing the darkness; [2]

and what is before me [2]
is covered by thick darkness. [1]
