[1] Silluq |
1 Surely there is for silver [3] a mine; [2] where gold is refined. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
2 Iron, [3] from the dust it is taken; [2] copper is melted out. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
3 An end [4] (man) puts to the darkness, [3] he searches out; [2] and deep darkness. [1] |
4 He breaks open a shaft [4] far from dwellings, [3] in places forgotten by feet; [2] they swing back and forth. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
5 The earth, [3] from it comes forth bread; [2] it is turned over like fire. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
6 The place of sapphires are its stones; [2] it has. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
7 The path, [3] no bird of prey knows it; [2] the falcon’s eye. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
8 The proud beasts haven't walked there; [2] the lion. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
9 On the flinty rock [3] he stretches out his hand; [2] the mountains. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
10 In the rocks [3] he cuts out channels; [2] his eye sees. [1] |
11 So they don’t trickle, [3] he dams up the streams; [2] he brings out to light. [1] ¶ |
[1] Silluq |
12 But wisdom, [3] where will it be found; [2] the place of understanding? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
13 Man doesn’t know [3] its worth; [2] in the land of the living. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
14 The deep says, [3] ‘It isn’t in me.’ [2] ‘It isn’t with me.’ [1] |
[1] Silluq |
15 Pure gold can’t be given [3] for it; [2] its price (in) silver. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
16 It can’t be valued [3] in the gold of Ophir; [2] or sapphire. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
17 It can’t be compared to gold [3] or crystal; [2] a vessel of pure gold. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
18 Coral and jasper [3] will not be mentioned; [2] is more than pearls. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
19 It can't be compared to [3] the topaz of Ethiopia; [2] it can't be valued. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
20 So wisdom, [3] where does it come from; [2] the place of understanding? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
21 For it has been hidden [3] from the eyes of every living thing; [2] it has been concealed. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
22 Abaddon and Death, [3] they say, [2] we have heard a rumor of it.’ [1] |
[1] Silluq |
23 God, [3] he understands its way; [2] he knows its place. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
24 For he, [3] to the ends of the earth he looks; [2] he sees, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
25 to establish for the wind [3] (its) force; [2] he has measured with a measure. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
26 When he made for the rain [3] a decree; [2] for the lightning of the thunder, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
27 then he saw it, [3] and he declared it; [2] and he also searched it out. [1] |
| 28 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh לָאָדָ֗ם [3] Revi'i הִ֣יא חׇכְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta בִּינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq פ |
28 And he said [4] to man, [3] that is wisdom; [2] is understanding.’ ” [1] ¶ |
