מֵֽעָפָ֣ר יֻקָּ֑ח [2] Etnachta

the stone in gloom [2]
and deep darkness. [1]

2 3 2 5 The earth, [3]
from it comes forth bread; [2]

but underneath, [2]
it is turned over like fire. [1]
6 מְקוֹם־סַפִּ֥יר אֲבָנֶ֑יהָ [2] Etnachta

עֵ֣ין אַיָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 The path, [3]
no bird of prey knows it; [2]

and it hasn't seen it, [2]
the falcon’s eye. [1]

he overturns by the roots [2]
the mountains. [1]
10 בַּ֭צּוּרוֹת [3] Dechi
יְאֹרִ֣ים בִּקֵּ֑עַ [2] Etnachta

וְכׇל־יְ֝קָ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
רָאֲתָ֥ה עֵינֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 In the rocks [3]
he cuts out channels; [2]

and every precious thing [2]

וְאֵ֥י זֶ֝֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מְק֣וֹם בִּינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 But wisdom, [3]
where will it be found; [2]

and where is this, [2]
the place of understanding? [1]
13 לֹא־יָדַ֣ע אֱנ֣וֹשׁ [3] VDechi
עֶרְכָּ֑הּ [2] Etnachta

וְלֹ֥א תִ֝מָּצֵ֗א [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּאֶ֣רֶץ הַחַיִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 Man doesn’t know [3]
its worth; [2]

and it is not found [2]
in the land of the living. [1]
14 תְּה֣וֹם אָ֭מַר [3] Dechi
לֹ֣א בִי־הִ֑יא [2] Etnachta

וְיָ֥ם אָ֝מַ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֵ֣ין עִמָּדִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 The deep says, [3]
‘It isn’t in me.’ [2]

And the sea says, [2]
‘It isn’t with me.’ [1]

כֶּ֣סֶף מְחִירָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 Pure gold can’t be given [3]

or sapphire. [1]
17 לֹא־יַעַרְכֶ֣נָּה זָ֭הָב [3] Dechi
וּזְכוֹכִ֑ית [2] Etnachta

וּתְמ֖וּרָתָ֣הּ [2] VRevMug

18 רָאמ֣וֹת וְ֭גָבִישׁ [3] Dechi
לֹ֣א יִזָּכֵ֑ר [2] Etnachta

וּמֶ֥שֶׁךְ חׇ֝כְמָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash

19 לֹֽא־יַ֭עַרְכֶנָּה [3] Dechi
פִּטְדַת־כּ֑וּשׁ [2] Etnachta

בְּכֶ֥תֶם טָ֝ה֗וֹר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א תְסֻלֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 It can't be compared to [3]
the topaz of Ethiopia; [2]

in pure gold [2]
it can't be valued. [1]
20 וְֽ֭הַחׇכְמָה [3] Dechi
מֵאַ֣יִן תָּב֑וֹא [2] Etnachta

וְאֵ֥י זֶ֝֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מְק֣וֹם בִּינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 So wisdom, [3]
where does it come from; [2]

and where is this, [2]
the place of understanding? [1]
21 וְֽ֭נֶעֶלְמָה [3] Dechi
מֵעֵינֵ֣י כׇל־חָ֑י [2] Etnachta

וּמֵע֖וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם [2] VRevMug
נִסְתָּֽרָה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 For it has been hidden [3]
from the eyes of every living thing; [2]

and from the birds of the heavens [2]
it has been concealed. [1]
22 אֲבַדּ֣וֹן וָ֭מָוֶת [3] Dechi
אָ֣מְר֑וּ [2] Etnachta

בְּ֝אׇזְנֵ֗ינוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שָׁמַ֥עְנוּ שִׁמְעָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 Abaddon and Death, [3]
they say, [2]

‘With our ears [2]
we have heard a rumor of it.’ [1]
23 אֱ֭לֹהִים [3] Dechi
הֵבִ֣ין דַּרְכָּ֑הּ [2] Etnachta

וְ֝ה֗וּא [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יָדַ֥ע אֶת־מְקוֹמָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 God, [3]
he understands its way; [2]

and he, [2]
he knows its place. [1]
24 כִּי־ה֭וּא [3] Dechi
לִקְצוֹת־הָאָ֣רֶץ יַבִּ֑יט [2] Etnachta

תַּ֖חַת כׇּל־הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם [2] VRevMug
יִרְאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 For he, [3]
to the ends of the earth he looks; [2]

under all the heavens [2]
he sees, [1]
25 לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת לָר֣וּחַ [3] VDechi
מִשְׁקָ֑ל [2] Etnachta

וּ֝מַ֗יִם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תִּכֵּ֥ן בְּמִדָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 to establish for the wind [3]
(its) force; [2]

and the waters [2]
he has measured with a measure. [1]
26 בַּעֲשֹׂת֣וֹ לַמָּטָ֣ר [3] VDechi
חֹ֑ק [2] Etnachta

וְ֝דֶ֗רֶךְ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לַחֲזִ֥יז קֹלֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 When he made for the rain [3]
a decree; [2]

and a path [2]
for the lightning of the thunder, [1]
27 אָ֣ז רָ֭אָהּ [3] Dechi
וַֽיְסַפְּרָ֑הּ [2] Etnachta

הֱ֝כִינָ֗הּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְגַם־חֲקָרָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 27 then he saw it, [3]
and he declared it; [2]

he established it, [2]
and he also searched it out. [1]
28 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
לָאָדָ֗ם [3] Revi'i

הֵ֤ן יִרְאַ֣ת אֲ֭דֹנָי [3] Dechi
הִ֣יא חׇכְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta

וְס֖וּר מֵרָ֣ע [2] VRevMug
בִּינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

to man, [3]

‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, [3]
that is wisdom; [2]

and to turn from evil [2]
is understanding.’ ” [1]
