1 וַיֹּ֣סֶף אִ֭יּוֹב [3] Dechi שְׂאֵ֥ת מְשָׁל֗וֹ [3/2] Revi'i וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
1 And Job again [3] took up his discourse, [3/2] and he said, [1] |

2 מִֽי־יִתְּנֵ֥נִי כְיַרְחֵי־קֶ֑דֶם [2] Etnachta אֱל֣וֹהַּ יִשְׁמְרֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq |
2 “Oh that I were as in the months of old; [2] when God watched over me, [1] |

3 בְּהִלּ֣וֹ נֵ֭רוֹ [3] Dechi עֲלֵ֣י רֹאשִׁ֑י [2] Etnachta אֵ֣לֶךְ חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ [1] Silluq |
3 when he made his lamp shine [3] over my head; [2] I walked (through) darkness, [1] |

4 כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר הָ֭יִיתִי [3] Dechi בִּימֵ֣י חׇרְפִּ֑י [2] Etnachta עֲלֵ֣י אׇהֳלִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
4 just as I was [3] in the days of my prime; [2] on my tent, [1] |

5 בְּע֣וֹד שַׁ֭דַּי [3] Dechi עִמָּדִ֑י [2] Etnachta נְעָרָֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
5 when still the Almighty [3] was with me; [2] were my children, [1] |

6 בִּרְחֹ֣ץ הֲלִיכַ֣י [3] VDechi בְּחֵמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta פַּלְגֵי־שָֽׁמֶן׃ [1] Silluq |
6 when my steps were bathed [3] in curds; [2] streams of oil, [1] |

7 בְּצֵ֣אתִי שַׁ֣עַר [3] VDechi עֲלֵי־קָ֑רֶת [2] Etnachta אָכִ֥ין מוֹשָׁבִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
7 when I went out to the gate [3] of the city; [2] I prepared my seat. [1] |

8 רָא֣וּנִי נְעָרִ֣ים [3] VDechi וְנֶחְבָּ֑אוּ [2] Etnachta קָ֣מוּ עָמָֽדוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
8 The young men saw me [3] and they hid themselves; [2] they rose up and stood. [1] |

9 שָׂ֭רִים [3] Dechi עָצְר֣וּ בְמִלִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta יָשִׂ֥ימוּ לְפִיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
9 The leaders, [3] they refrained from talking; [2] they put to their mouth. [1] |

10 קוֹל־נְגִידִ֥ים נֶחְבָּ֑אוּ [2] Etnachta לְחִכָּ֥ם דָּבֵֽקָה׃ [1] Silluq |
10 The voice of the nobles was hushed; [2] stuck to the roof of their mouth. [1] |

11 כִּ֤י אֹ֣זֶן שָׁ֭מְעָה [3] Dechi וַֽתְּאַשְּׁרֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta וַתְּעִידֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq |
11 For when an ear heard, [3] it called me blessed; [2] and it commended me. [1] |

12 כִּֽי־אֲ֭מַלֵּט [3] Dechi עָנִ֣י מְשַׁוֵּ֑עַ [2] Etnachta וְֽלֹא־עֹזֵ֥ר לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
12 For I rescued [3] the afflicted who cried for help; [2] and the one who had no one to help, [1] |

13 בִּרְכַּ֣ת אֹ֭בֵד [3] Dechi עָלַ֣י תָּבֹ֑א [2] Etnachta אַרְנִֽן׃ [1] Silluq |
13 the blessing of one about to perish, [3] it came on me; [2] I caused to sing for joy. [1] |

14 צֶ֣דֶק לָ֭בַשְׁתִּי [3] Dechi וַיִּלְבָּשֵׁ֑נִי [2] Etnachta מִשְׁפָּטִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
14 I put on righteousness, [3] and it clothed me; [2] was my justice. [1] |

15 עֵינַ֣יִם הָ֭יִיתִי [3] Dechi לַעִוֵּ֑ר [2] Etnachta אָֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq |
15 Eyes I was [3] to the blind; [2] I was. [1] |
|||
16 אָ֣ב אָ֭נֹכִ֥י [3] Dechi לָאֶבְיוֹנִ֑ים [2] Etnachta אֶחְקְרֵֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
16 A father I was [3] to the needy; [2] I investigated it. [1] |

17 וָ֭אֲשַׁבְּרָה [3] Dechi מְתַלְּע֣וֹת עַוָּ֑ל [2] Etnachta אַשְׁלִ֥יךְ טָֽרֶף׃ [1] Silluq |
17 And I broke [3] the fangs of the unjust; [2] I threw the prey. [1] |

18 וָ֭אֹמַר [3] Dechi עִם־קִנִּ֣י אֶגְוָ֑ע [2] Etnachta אַרְבֶּ֥ה יָמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
18 And I said, [3] ‘With my nest I will die; [2] I will increase my days. [1] |

19 שׇׁרְשִׁ֣י פָת֣וּחַ [3] VDechi אֱלֵי־מָ֑יִם [2] Etnachta יָלִ֥ין בִּקְצִירִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
19 My root is spread out [3] to the waters; [2] it lies all night on my branch. [1] |

20 כְּ֭בוֹדִי [3] Dechi חָדָ֣שׁ עִמָּדִ֑י [2] Etnachta בְּיָדִ֥י תַחֲלִֽיף׃ [1] Silluq |
20 My honor [3] is new with me; [2] in my hand is renewed.’ [1] |

21 לִֽי־שָׁמְע֥וּ וְיִחֵ֑לּוּ [2] Etnachta לְמ֣וֹ עֲצָתִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
21 “People listened to me and they waited; [2] for my counsel. [1] |

22 אַחֲרֵ֣י דְ֭בָרִי [3] Dechi לֹ֣א יִשְׁנ֑וּ [2] Etnachta תִּטֹּ֥ף מִלָּתִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
22 After my word [3] they didn’t (speak) again; [2] my speech fell. [1] |

23 וְיִחֲל֣וּ כַמָּטָ֣ר [3] VDechi לִ֑י [2] Etnachta פָּעֲר֥וּ לְמַלְקֽוֹשׁ׃ [1] Silluq |
23 And they waited as for the rain [3] for me; [2] they opened wide for spring rain. [1] |

24 אֶשְׂחַ֣ק אֲ֭לֵהֶם [3] Dechi לֹ֣א יַאֲמִ֑ינוּ [2] Etnachta לֹ֣א יַפִּילֽוּן׃ [1] Silluq |
24 I smiled on them [3] when they had no confidence; [2] they didn’t reject. [1] |

25 אֶ֥בְחַ֣ר דַּרְכָּם֮ [3] Sinnor וְאֵשֵׁ֢ב רֹ֥֫אשׁ [2] Ole Veyored כְּמֶ֣לֶךְ בַּגְּד֑וּד [2] Etnachta יְנַחֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
25 I chose their way, [3] and I sat as chief; [2] as a king among the troops, [2] are comforted. [1] |
