אֶת־פִּ֔יהוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיְקַלֵּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־יוֹמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

Job opened [3]
his mouth, [2]
 
and he cursed [2]
his day. [1]
2 וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב [3/2] Revi'i
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 And Job answered [3/2]
and he said, [1]
3 יֹ֣אבַד י֭וֹם [3] Dechi
אִוָּ֣לֶד בּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְהַלַּ֥יְלָה אָ֝מַ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
הֹ֣רָה גָֽבֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 “Let it perish, the day [3]
on which I was born; [2]
 
and the night which said, [2]
‘A man has been conceived.’ [1]
4 הַיּ֥וֹם הַה֗וּא [3] Revi'i
יְֽהִ֫י חֹ֥שֶׁךְ [2] Ole Veyored
 
אַֽל־יִדְרְשֵׁ֣הוּ אֱל֣וֹהַּ [3] VDechi
מִמַּ֑עַל [2] Etnachta
 
וְאַל־תּוֹפַ֖ע עָלָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
נְהָרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 4 That day, [3]
let it be darkness; [2]
 
don’t let God care for it [3]
from above, [2]
 
and don't let it shine forth on it, [2]
daylight. [1]
5 יִגְאָלֻ֡הוּ [4] Pazer
חֹ֣שֶׁךְ וְ֭צַלְמָוֶת [3] Dechi
תִּשְׁכׇּן־עָלָ֣יו עֲנָנָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
יְ֝בַעֲתֻ֗הוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּֽמְרִ֥ירֵי יֽוֹם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 5 Let them reclaim it, [4]
darkness and the shadow of death, [3]
let a cloud settle down over it; [2]
 
let them terrify it, [2]
the things which darken the day. [1]
6 הַלַּ֥יְלָה הַהוּא֮ [3] Sinnor
יִקָּחֵ֢ה֫וּ אֹ֥פֶל [2] Ole Veyored
 
אַל־יִ֭חַדְּ [3] Dechi
בִּימֵ֣י שָׁנָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
בְּמִסְפַּ֥ר יְ֝רָחִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אַל־יָבֹֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 6 As for that night, [3]
let thick darkness take it; [2]
 
let it not rejoice [3]
among the days of the year, [2]
 
in the number of the months [2]
let it not come. [1]
7 הִנֵּ֤ה הַלַּ֣יְלָה הַ֭הוּא [3] Dechi
יְהִ֣י גַלְמ֑וּד [2] Etnachta
 
אַל־תָּב֖וֹא רְנָנָ֣ה [2] VRevMug
בֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 Behold that night, [3]
let it be barren; [2]
 
let no cry of joy come [2]
in it. [1]
8 יִקְּבֻ֥הוּ אֹֽרְרֵי־י֑וֹם [2] Etnachta
 
הָ֝עֲתִידִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עֹרֵ֥ר לִוְיָתָֽן׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 8 Let them curse it who curse the day; [2]
 
who are ready [2]
to rouse Leviathan. [1]
9 יֶחְשְׁכוּ֮ [3] Sinnor
כּוֹכְבֵ֢י נִ֫שְׁפּ֥וֹ [2] Ole Veyored
 
יְקַו־לְא֥וֹר וָאַ֑יִן [2] Etnachta
וְאַל־יִ֝רְאֶ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּעַפְעַפֵּי־שָֽׁחַר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 9 Let them grow dark, [3]
the stars of its twilight; [2]
 
let it wait for light but have none, [2]
and let it not look [2]
on the eyelids of dawn, [1]
10 כִּ֤י לֹ֣א סָ֭גַר [3] Dechi
דַּלְתֵ֣י בִטְנִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וַיַּסְתֵּ֥ר עָ֝מָ֗ל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵעֵינָֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 for not did it shut [3]
the doors of my womb; [2]
 
nor did it hide trouble [2]
from my eyes. [1]
11 לָ֤מָּה לֹּ֣א מֵרֶ֣חֶם [3] VDechi
אָמ֑וּת [2] Etnachta
 
מִבֶּ֖טֶן יָצָ֣אתִי [2] VRevMug
וְאֶגְוָֽע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 “Why not from the womb [3]
did I die; [2]
 
from the belly came (I) forth, [2]
and gave (I) up the spirit? [1]
12 מַ֭דּוּעַ [3] Dechi
קִדְּמ֣וּנִי בִרְכָּ֑יִם [2] Etnachta
 
וּמַה־שָּׁ֝דַ֗יִם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּ֣י אִינָֽק׃ [1] Silluq

did the knees receive me; [2]
 
and why breasts [2]
that I should nurse? [1]
13 כִּֽי־עַ֭תָּה [3] Dechi
שָׁכַ֣בְתִּי וְאֶשְׁק֑וֹט [2] Etnachta
 
יָ֝שַׁ֗נְתִּי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אָ֤ז ׀ [4/2] Mahpakh Legarmeh
יָנ֬וּחַֽ לִֽי׃ [1] Silluq

I should have lay down and been at peace; [2]
 
I should have slept, [2]
then [4/2]
I would have been at rest, [1]
14 עִם־מְ֭לָכִים [3] Dechi
וְיֹ֣עֲצֵי אָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta
 
הַבֹּנִ֖ים חֳרָב֣וֹת [2] VRevMug
לָֽמוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

and counselors of the earth; [2]
 
those who rebuilt ruins [2]
for themselves, [1]
15 א֣וֹ עִם־שָׂ֭רִים [3] Dechi
זָהָ֣ב לָהֶ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
הַֽמְמַלְאִ֖ים בָּתֵּיהֶ֣ם [2] VRevMug
כָּֽסֶף׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 or with princes [3]
who had gold; [2]
 
who filled their houses [2]
with silver, [1]
16 א֤וֹ כְנֵ֣פֶל טָ֭מוּן [3] Dechi
לֹ֣א אֶהְיֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
כְּ֝עֹלְלִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹא־רָ֥אוּ אֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 or as a miscarriage hidden, [3]
I had not been; [2]
 
as infants [2]
who have never seen light. [1]
17 שָׁ֣ם רְ֭שָׁעִים [3] Dechi
חָ֣דְלוּ רֹ֑גֶז [2] Etnachta
 
וְשָׁ֥ם יָ֝נ֗וּחוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יְגִ֣יעֵי כֹֽחַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 There the wicked, [3]
they cease from troubling; [2]
 
and there they rest, [2]
the weary of strength. [1]
18 יַ֭חַד [3] Dechi
אֲסִירִ֣ים שַׁאֲנָ֑נוּ [2] Etnachta
 
לֹ֥א שָׁ֝מְע֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
ק֣וֹל נֹגֵֽשׂ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 Together [3]
prisoners are at ease; [2]
 
they don’t hear [2]
the voice of a taskmaster. [1]
19 קָטֹ֣ן וְ֭גָדוֹל [3] Dechi
שָׁ֣ם ה֑וּא [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝עֶ֗בֶד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
חׇפְשִׁ֥י מֵאֲדֹנָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 Small and great, [3]
he is there; [2]
 
and a slave [2]
is free from his master. [1]
20 לָ֤מָּה יִתֵּ֣ן לְעָמֵ֣ל [3] VDechi
א֑וֹר [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝חַיִּ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְמָ֣רֵי נָֽפֶשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 “Why is given to him who suffers, [3]
light; [2]
 
and life [2]
to the bitter of soul, [1]
21 הַֽמְחַכִּ֣ים לַמָּ֣וֶת [3] VDechi
וְאֵינֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וַֽ֝יַּחְפְּרֻ֗הוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִמַּטְמוֹנִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 who long for death [3]
but it doesn’t come; [2]
 
and they dig for it [2]
more than hidden treasures, [1]
22 הַשְּׂמֵחִ֥ים אֱלֵי־גִ֑יל [2] Etnachta
 
יָ֝שִׂ֗ישׂוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּ֣י יִמְצְאוּ־קָֽבֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 22 who rejoice exceedingly; [2]
 
they exult [2]
when they find the grave; [1]
23 לְ֭גֶבֶר [3] Dechi
אֲשֶׁר־דַּרְכּ֣וֹ נִסְתָּ֑רָה [2] Etnachta
 
וַיָּ֖סֶךְ אֱל֣וֹהַּ [2] VRevMug
בַּעֲדֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 to a man [3]
whose way is hidden; [2]
 
and God has made inaccessible [2]
behind him? [1]
24 כִּֽי־לִפְנֵ֣י לַ֭חְמִי [3] Dechi
אַנְחָתִ֣י תָבֹ֑א [2] Etnachta
 
וַֽיִּתְּכ֥וּ כַ֝מַּ֗יִם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שַׁאֲגֹתָֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 For before my food [3]
comes my groaning; [2]
 
and they pour forth like water [2]
my cries of distress. [1]
25 כִּ֤י פַ֣חַד פָּ֭חַדְתִּי [3] Dechi
וַיֶּאֱתָיֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta
 
וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר יָ֝גֹ֗רְתִּי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יָ֣בֹא לִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 For a fear I feared, [3]
and it came upon me; [2]
 
and that which I was afraid of, [2]
it came to me. [1]
26 לֹ֤א שָׁלַ֨וְתִּי ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
וְלֹ֖א שָׁקַ֥טְתִּי וְֽלֹא־נָ֗חְתִּי [3/2] Revi'i
וַיָּ֥בֹא רֹֽגֶז׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 26 I am not at ease, [4]
and I am not at peace and I am not at rest, [3/2]
and turmoil has come.” [1]
