איוב 7 Job 7
1 הֲלֹֽא־צָבָ֣א לֶֽאֱנ֣וֹשׁ [3] VDechi
*על **עֲלֵי־אָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta

וְכִימֵ֖י שָׂכִ֣יר [2] VRevMug
יָמָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 “Does not man have hard service [3]
on earth; [2]

and like the days of a hired hand [2]
are his days? [1]
2 כְּעֶ֥בֶד יִשְׁאַף־צֵ֑ל [2] Etnachta

וּ֝כְשָׂכִ֗יר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יְקַוֶּ֥ה פׇעֳלֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 2 Like a slave who longs for shade; [2]

and like a hired laborer [2]
who waits eagerly for his wages, [1]
3 כֵּ֤ן הׇנְחַ֣לְתִּי לִ֭י [3] Dechi
יַרְחֵי־שָׁ֑וְא [2] Etnachta

וְלֵיל֥וֹת עָ֝מָ֗ל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִנּוּ־לִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 so I have been allotted for myself [3]
months of worthlessness; [2]

and nights of trouble [2]
have been allotted to me. [1]
4 אִם־שָׁכַ֗בְתִּי [3] Revi'i
וְאָמַ֗רְתִּי [3] Revi'i
מָתַ֣י אָ֭קוּם [3] Dechi
וּמִדַּד־עָ֑רֶב [2] Etnachta

וְשָׂבַ֖עְתִּי נְדֻדִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
עֲדֵי־נָֽשֶׁף׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 3 2 4 When I lie down [3]
I will say, [3]
‘When will I arise?’ [3]
but the night drags on; [2]

and I toss and turn [2]
until the dawning of the day. [1]
5 לָ֘בַ֤שׁ בְּשָׂרִ֣י רִ֭מָּה [3] Dechi
*וגיש **וְג֣וּשׁ עָפָ֑ר [2] Etnachta

עוֹרִ֥י רָ֝גַ֗ע [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וַיִּמָּאֵֽס׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 My flesh is clothed with worms [3]
and clods of dust; [2]

my skin has become hard [2]
and it has oozed. [1]
6 יָמַ֣י קַ֭לּוּ [3] Dechi
מִנִּי־אָ֑רֶג [2] Etnachta

וַ֝יִּכְל֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּאֶ֣פֶס תִּקְוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 My days have been swift, [3]
more than a weaver’s shuttle; [2]

and they have come to an end [2]
without hope. [1]
7 זְ֭כֹר [3] Dechi
כִּי־ר֣וּחַ חַיָּ֑י [2] Etnachta

לֹֽא־תָשׁ֥וּב עֵ֝ינִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לִרְא֥וֹת טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 Remember [3]
that a breath is my life; [2]

my eye will not return [2]
to see good. [1]
8 לֹא־תְ֭שׁוּרֵנִי [3] Dechi
עֵ֣ין רֹ֑אִי [2] Etnachta

עֵינֶ֖יךָ בִּ֣י [2] VRevMug
וְאֵינֶֽנִּי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 It will see me no more, [3]
the eye of him who sees; [2]

your eyes will be on me, [2]
but I will not be. [1]
9 כָּלָ֣ה עָ֭נָן [3] Dechi
וַיֵּלַ֑ךְ [2] Etnachta

כֵּ֥ן יוֹרֵ֥ד שְׁ֝א֗וֹל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א יַעֲלֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 As a cloud vanishes [3]
and it is gone; [2]

so the one who goes down to Sheol, [2]
he will come up no more. [1]
10 לֹא־יָשׁ֣וּב ע֣וֹד [3] VDechi
לְבֵית֑וֹ [2] Etnachta

וְלֹא־יַכִּירֶ֖נּוּ ע֣וֹד [2] VRevMug
מְקֹמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 He will not return again [3]
to his house; [2]

and it will not know him anymore, [2]
his place. [1]
11 גַּם־אֲנִי֮ [3] Sinnor
לֹ֤א אֶחֱשׇׂ֫ךְ פִּ֥י [2] Ole Veyored

אֲֽ֭דַבְּרָה [3] Dechi
בְּצַ֣ר רוּחִ֑י [2] Etnachta

אָ֝שִׂ֗יחָה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּמַ֣ר נַפְשִֽׁי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 11 Therefore I, [3]
I will not keep silent; [2]

I will speak [3]
in the distress of my spirit, [2]

I will complain [2]
in the bitterness of my soul. [1]
12 הֲֽיָם־אָ֭נִי [3] Dechi
אִם־תַּנִּ֑ין [2] Etnachta

כִּֽי־תָשִׂ֖ים עָלַ֣י [2] VRevMug
מִשְׁמָֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 Am I the sea, [3]
or a sea monster; [2]

that you set over me [2]
a guard? [1]
13 כִּֽי־אָ֭מַרְתִּי [3] Dechi
תְּנַחֲמֵ֣נִי עַרְשִׂ֑י [2] Etnachta

יִשָּׂ֥א בְ֝שִׂיחִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִשְׁכָּבִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 When I said, [3]
‘My couch will comfort me; [2]

it will ease my complaint, [2]
my bed,’ [1]
14 וְחִתַּתַּ֥נִי בַחֲלֹמ֑וֹת [2] Etnachta

וּֽמֵחֶזְיֹנ֥וֹת תְּבַעֲתַֽנִּי׃ [1] Silluq
2 14 then you dismay me with dreams; [2]

and through visions you terrify me, [1]
15 וַתִּבְחַ֣ר מַחֲנָ֣ק [3] VDechi
נַפְשִׁ֑י [2] Etnachta

מָ֝֗וֶת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵעַצְמוֹתָֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 so that it would choose strangling, [3]
my soul; [2]

death [2]
rather than my bones. [1]
16 מָ֭אַסְתִּי [3] Dechi
לֹא־לְעֹלָ֣ם אֶחְיֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta

חֲדַ֥ל מִ֝מֶּ֗נִּי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּי־הֶ֥בֶל יָמָֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 I loathe it, [3]
I would not live forever; [2]

leave me alone, [2]
for but a breath are my days. [1]
17 מָֽה־אֱ֭נוֹשׁ [3] Dechi
כִּ֣י תְגַדְּלֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta

וְכִֽי־תָשִׁ֖ית אֵלָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
לִבֶּֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 What is man, [3]
that you make so much of him; [2]

and that you set on him [2]
your heart, [1]
18 וַתִּפְקְדֶ֥נּוּ לִבְקָרִ֑ים [2] Etnachta

לִ֝רְגָעִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תִּבְחָנֶֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 18 that you visit him every morning; [2]

every moment, [2]
you test him? [1]
19 כַּ֭מָּה [3] Dechi
לֹא־תִשְׁעֶ֣ה מִמֶּ֑נִּי [2] Etnachta

לֹֽא־תַ֝רְפֵּ֗נִי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַד־בִּלְעִ֥י רֻקִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 How long [3]
will you not look away from me; [2]

will you not let me alone [2]
until I swallow my spittle? [1]
20 חָטָ֡אתִי [4] Pazer
מָ֤ה אֶפְעַ֨ל ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh

וָאֶהְיֶ֖ה עָלַ֣י [2] VRevMug
לְמַשָּֽׂא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 4 2 3 2 20 If I have sinned, [4]
what do I do [4]
to you, [3]
O watcher of men? [2]

Why have you set me as a target [3]
to you, [2]

so that I have become to myself [2]
a burden? [1]
21 וּמֶ֤ה ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
לֹֽא־תִשָּׂ֣א פִשְׁעִי֮ [3] Sinnor

כִּֽי־עַ֭תָּה [3] Dechi
לֶעָפָ֣ר אֶשְׁכָּ֑ב [2] Etnachta

וְשִׁ֖חַרְתַּ֣נִי [2] VRevMug
וְאֵינֶֽנִּי׃ [1] Silluq
פ
2 3 4 2 3 2 21 And why [4]
do you not pardon my transgression, [3]
and take away my iniquity? [2]

For now [3]
in the dust will I lie down, [2]

and you will seek me diligently, [2]
but I will not be.” [1]
