איוב 7 | Job 7 | |||
[1] Silluq |
1 “Does not man have hard service [3] on earth; [2] are his days? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
2 Like a slave who longs for shade; [2] who waits eagerly for his wages, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
3 so I have been allotted for myself [3] months of worthlessness; [2] have been allotted to me. [1] |
4 אִם־שָׁכַ֗בְתִּי [3] Revi'i וְאָמַ֗רְתִּי [3] Revi'i מָתַ֣י אָ֭קוּם [3] Dechi וּמִדַּד־עָ֑רֶב [2] Etnachta עֲדֵי־נָֽשֶׁף׃ [1] Silluq |
4 When I lie down [3] I will say, [3] ‘When will I arise?’ [3] but the night drags on; [2] until the dawning of the day. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
5 My flesh is clothed with worms [3] and clods of dust; [2] and it has oozed. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
6 My days have been swift, [3] more than a weaver’s shuttle; [2] without hope. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
7 Remember [3] that a breath is my life; [2] to see good. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
8 It will see me no more, [3] the eye of him who sees; [2] but I will not be. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
9 As a cloud vanishes [3] and it is gone; [2] he will come up no more. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
10 He will not return again [3] to his house; [2] his place. [1] |
11 Therefore I, [3] I will not keep silent; [2] in the distress of my spirit, [2] in the bitterness of my soul. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
12 Am I the sea, [3] or a sea monster; [2] a guard? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
13 When I said, [3] ‘My couch will comfort me; [2] my bed,’ [1] |
[2] Etnachta |
14 then you dismay me with dreams; [2] |
[1] Silluq |
15 so that it would choose strangling, [3] my soul; [2] rather than my bones. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
16 I loathe it, [3] I would not live forever; [2] for but a breath are my days. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
17 What is man, [3] that you make so much of him; [2] your heart, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
18 that you visit him every morning; [2] you test him? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
19 How long [3] will you not look away from me; [2] until I swallow my spittle? [1] |
20 If I have sinned, [4] what do I do [4] to you, [3] O watcher of men? [2] to you, [2] a burden? [1] |
21 And why [4] do you not pardon my transgression, [3] and take away my iniquity? [2] in the dust will I lie down, [2] but I will not be.” [1] ¶ |
