1 וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב [3/2] Revi'i וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
1 Then Job answered [3/2] and he said, [1] |

2 אׇ֭מְנָם [3] Dechi יָדַ֣עְתִּי כִי־כֵ֑ן [2] Etnachta עִם־אֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq |
2 “Truly [3] I know that this is so; [2] with God? [1] |
|||
3 אִם־יַ֭חְפֹּץ [3] Dechi לָרִ֣יב עִמּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta אַחַ֥ת מִנִּי־אָֽלֶף׃ [1] Silluq |
3 If one wants [3] to contend with him; [2] one time in a thousand. [1] |

4 חֲכַ֣ם לֵ֭בָב [3] Dechi וְאַמִּ֣יץ כֹּ֑חַ [2] Etnachta וַיִּשְׁלָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
4 Wise hearted [3] and mighty in strength; [2] and has prospered? [1] |

5 הַמַּעְתִּ֣יק הָ֭רִים [3] Dechi וְלֹ֣א יָדָ֑עוּ [2] Etnachta בְּאַפּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
5 The one who removes the mountains [3] and they don’t know; [2] in his anger. [1] |

6 הַמַּרְגִּ֣יז אֶ֭רֶץ [3] Dechi מִמְּקוֹמָ֑הּ [2] Etnachta יִתְפַּלָּצֽוּן׃ [1] Silluq |
6 The one who shakes the earth [3] from its place; [2] they tremble. [1] |

7 הָאֹמֵ֣ר לַ֭חֶרֶס [3] Dechi וְלֹ֣א יִזְרָ֑ח [2] Etnachta יַחְתֹּֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
7 The one who speaks to the sun [3] and it doesn’t shine; [2] he puts a seal. [1] |

8 נֹטֶ֣ה שָׁמַ֣יִם [3] VDechi לְבַדּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta עַל־בָּ֥מֳתֵי יָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
8 One who stretches out the heavens, [3] he alone; [2] on the waves of the sea. [1] |

9 עֹֽשֶׂה־עָ֭שׁ [3] Dechi כְּסִ֥יל וְכִימָ֗ה [3/2] Revi'i וְחַדְרֵ֥י תֵמָֽן׃ [1] Silluq |
9 One who makes the Bear, [3] Orion and Pleiades, [3/2] and the chambers of the south. [1] |

10 עֹשֶׂ֣ה גְ֭דֹלוֹת [3] Dechi עַד־אֵ֣ין חֵ֑קֶר [2] Etnachta עַד־אֵ֥ין מִסְפָּֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
10 One who does great things [3] past finding out; [2] without number. [1] |

11 הֵ֤ן יַעֲבֹ֣ר עָ֭לַי [3] Dechi וְלֹ֣א אֶרְאֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta וְֽלֹא־אָבִ֥ין לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
11 Behold, he will pass by me [3] and I won’t see; [2] and I won’t perceive him. [1] |

12 הֵ֣ן יַ֭חְתֹּף [3] Dechi מִ֣י יְשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta מַֽה־תַּעֲשֶֽׂה׃ [1] Silluq |
12 Behold, he will snatch away. [3] Who can hinder him? [2] ‘What are you doing?’ [1] |

13 אֱ֭לוֹהַּ [3] Dechi לֹא־יָשִׁ֣יב אַפּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta עֹ֣זְרֵי רָֽהַב׃ [1] Silluq |
13 “God, [3] he will not withdraw his anger; [2] the helpers of Rahab. [1] |

14 אַ֭ף [3] Dechi כִּֽי־אָנֹכִ֣י אֶעֱנֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta עִמּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
14 How then [3] will I answer him; [2] with him? [1] |
|||
15 אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִם־צָ֭דַקְתִּי [3] Dechi לֹ֣א אֶעֱנֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta אֶתְחַנָּֽן׃ [1] Silluq |
15 who though I were righteous [3] I wouldn’t answer; [2] I would seek favor. [1] |

16 אִם־קָרָ֥אתִי וַֽיַּעֲנֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta כִּֽי־יַאֲזִ֥ין קוֹלִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
16 If I called and he answered me; [2] that he gave ear to my voice, [1] |
|||
17 אֲשֶׁר־בִּשְׂעָרָ֥ה יְשׁוּפֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta חִנָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
17 who with a storm he crushes me; [2] without cause. [1] |
|||
18 לֹֽא־יִ֭תְּנֵנִי [3] Dechi הָשֵׁ֣ב רוּחִ֑י [2] Etnachta מַמְּרֹרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
18 He will not allow me [3] to catch my breath; [2] bitter things. [1] |
|||
19 אִם־לְכֹ֣חַ אַמִּ֣יץ [3] VDechi הִנֵּ֑ה [2] Etnachta מִ֣י יוֹעִידֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq |
19 If it's a matter of power - a strong one, [3] behold; [2] ‘Who will summon me?’ [1] |

20 אִם־אֶ֭צְדָּק [3] Dechi פִּ֣י יַרְשִׁיעֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta וַֽיַּעְקְשֵֽׁנִי׃ [1] Silluq |
20 Though I am righteous, [3] my own mouth will condemn me as guilty; [2] but it will prove me perverse. [1] |

21 תׇּֽם־אָ֭נִי [3] Dechi לֹֽא־אֵדַ֥ע נַפְשִׁ֗י [3/2] Revi'i אֶמְאַ֥ס חַיָּֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
21 I am blameless, [3] I regard not myself; [3/2] I despise my life. [1] |

22 אַחַ֗ת [3] Revi'i הִ֥֫יא [2] Ole Veyored תָּ֥ם וְ֝רָשָׁ֗ע [2] Revi'i Mugrash ה֣וּא מְכַלֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
22 One [3] it is; [2] the blameless and the wicked [2] he destroys. [1] |

23 אִם־שׁ֭וֹט [3] Dechi יָמִ֣ית פִּתְאֹ֑ם [2] Etnachta יִלְעָֽג׃ [1] Silluq |
23 If a scourge, [3] it kills suddenly; [2] he will mock. [1] |
|||
24 אֶ֤רֶץ ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh נִתְּנָ֬ה בְֽיַד־רָשָׁ֗ע [3] Revi'i פְּנֵֽי־שֹׁפְטֶ֥יהָ יְכַסֶּ֑ה [2] Etnachta מִי־הֽוּא׃ [1] Silluq |
24 The earth, [4] it has been given into the hand of the wicked. [3] The faces of its judges he covers. [2] who is it? [1] |

25 וְיָמַ֣י קַ֭לּוּ [3] Dechi מִנִּי־רָ֑ץ [2] Etnachta לֹא־רָא֥וּ טוֹבָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
25 Now my days have been swift, [3] more than a runner; [2] they have not seen good. [1] |

26 חָ֭לְפוּ [3] Dechi עִם־אֳנִיּ֣וֹת אֵבֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta יָט֥וּשׂ עֲלֵי־אֹֽכֶל׃ [1] Silluq |
26 They have passed on [3] as ships of reed; [2] which swoops on the prey. [1] |

27 אִם־אׇ֭מְרִי [3] Dechi אֶשְׁכְּחָ֣ה שִׂיחִ֑י [2] Etnachta וְאַבְלִֽיגָה׃ [1] Silluq |
27 If I say, [3] ‘I will forget my complaint; [2] and I will be cheerful,’ [1] |

28 יָגֹ֥רְתִּי כׇל־עַצְּבֹתָ֑י [2] Etnachta כִּי־לֹ֥א תְנַקֵּֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq |
28 I am afraid of all my pains; [2] that you will not hold me innocent. [1] |
|||
29 אָנֹכִ֥י אֶרְשָׁ֑ע [2] Etnachta הֶ֣בֶל אִיגָֽע׃ [1] Silluq |
29 I, I will be condemned; [2] in vain will I labor? [1] |
|||
30 אִם־הִתְרָחַ֥צְתִּי *במו **בְמֵי־שָׁ֑לֶג [2] Etnachta בְּבֹ֣ר כַּפָּֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
30 If I washed myself with snow; [2] with lye my hands, [1] |
|||
31 אָ֭ז [3] Dechi בַּשַּׁ֣חַת תִּטְבְּלֵ֑נִי [2] Etnachta שַׂלְמוֹתָֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
31 yet [3] in the pit you will dip me; [2] my own clothes. [1] |
|||
32 כִּֽי־לֹא־אִ֣ישׁ כָּמ֣וֹנִי [3] VDechi אֶעֱנֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta בַּמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃ [1] Silluq |
32 For he is not a man like me, [3] (that) I should answer him; [2] in judgment. [1] |

33 לֹ֣א יֵשׁ־בֵּינֵ֣ינוּ [3] VDechi מוֹכִ֑יחַ [2] Etnachta עַל־שְׁנֵֽינוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
33 There is not between us [3] a mediator; [2] on us both. [1] |
|||
34 יָסֵ֣ר מֵעָלַ֣י [3] VDechi שִׁבְט֑וֹ [2] Etnachta אַֽל־תְּבַעֲתַֽנִּי׃ [1] Silluq |
34 Let him take away from me [3] his rod; [2] let it not terrify me, [1] |

35 אֲֽ֭דַבְּרָה [3] Dechi וְלֹ֣א אִירָאֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta עִמָּדִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
35 then I would speak [3] and (I) would not fear him; [2] in myself. [1] |
