וָאָבִ֤יא אֶתְכֶם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
אֶל־הָאָ֗רֶץ [3] Revi'a
אֲשֶׁ֤ר נִשְׁבַּ֙עְתִּי֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לַאֲבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וָאֹמַ֕ר [2] ZaqefG
 
לֹֽא־אָפֵ֧ר בְּרִיתִ֛י [3] Darga Tevir
אִתְּכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
לְעוֹלָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

from Gilgal [2]
to Bochim; [1]
 
and he said, “I brought you up [4]
from Egypt, [3]
 
and I brought you [3]
into the land [3]
which I swore [3]
to your ancestors, [2]
 
and I said, [2]
 
‘I will not break my covenant [3]
with you [2]
forever. [1]

לֹֽא־תִכְרְת֤וּ בְרִית֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לְיֽוֹשְׁבֵי֙ [3] Pashta
הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את [2] Munach Zaqef
 
מִזְבְּחוֹתֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
תִּתֹּצ֑וּן [1] Etnachta
 
וְלֹא־שְׁמַעְתֶּ֥ם בְּקוֹלִ֖י [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מַה־זֹּ֥את עֲשִׂיתֶֽם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

you must make no covenant [3]
with the inhabitants [3]
of this land. [2]
 
Their altars [2]
you shall pull down.’ [1]
 
But you have not listened to my voice. [2]
What is this you have done? [1]
3 וְגַ֣ם אָמַ֔רְתִּי [2] Munach Zaqef
לֹא־אֲגָרֵ֥שׁ אוֹתָ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מִפְּנֵיכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְהָי֤וּ לָכֶם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לְצִדִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וֵאלֹ֣הֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef
יִהְי֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לְמוֹקֵֽשׁ׃ [1] Silluq

‘I will not drive them out [2]
from before you; [1]
 
but they shall become to you [3]
(thorns in your) sides, [2]
 
and their gods, [2]
they will become to you [2]
a snare.’ ” [1]

וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ הָעָ֛ם [3] Merkha Tevir
אֶת־קוֹלָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וַיִּבְכּֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq

to all the children [2]
of Israel; [1]
 
the people lifted up [3]
their voice [2]
and they wept. [1]

שֵֽׁם־הַמָּק֥וֹם הַה֖וּא [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בֹּכִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּזְבְּחוּ־שָׁ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
לַיהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

the name of that place, [2]
Bochim, [1]
 
and they sacrificed there [2]
to the LORD. [1]
6 וַיְשַׁלַּ֥ח יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֶת־הָעָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּלְכ֧וּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל [3] Darga Tevir
אִ֥ישׁ לְנַחֲלָת֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לָרֶ֥שֶׁת אֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 2 3 6 Now when Joshua had sent the people away, the children of Israel each went to his inheritance to possess the land. [2]
7 וַיַּעַבְד֤וּ הָעָם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
אֶת־יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
כֹּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
יְמֵ֣י יְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַ [1] Munach Etnachta

אַחֲרֵ֣י יְהוֹשׁ֔וּעַ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֣ר רָא֗וּ [3] Munach Revi'a
אֵ֣ת כׇּל־מַעֲשֵׂ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Munach Mapakh Pashta
הַגָּד֔וֹל [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 4 3 2 3 3 2 7 The people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great work of the LORD that he had worked for Israel. [3]

יְהוֹשֻׁ֥עַ בִּן־נ֖וּן [2] Merkha Tip'cha
עֶ֣בֶד יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
בֶּן־מֵאָ֥ה וָעֶ֖שֶׂר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
שָׁנִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 8 Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being one hundred ten years old. [3]
9 וַיִּקְבְּר֤וּ אוֹתוֹ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בִּגְב֣וּל נַחֲלָת֔וֹ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
בְּתִמְנַת־חֶ֖רֶס [2] Tip'cha
בְּהַ֣ר אֶפְרָ֑יִם [1] Munach Etnachta
 
מִצְּפ֖וֹן [2] Tip'cha
לְהַר־גָּֽעַשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 9 They buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath Heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, on the north of the mountain of Gaash. [3]
10 וְגַם֙ [3] Pashta
כׇּל־הַדּ֣וֹר הַה֔וּא [2] Munach Zaqef
 
נֶאֶסְפ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־אֲבוֹתָ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
וַיָּ֩קׇם֩ דּ֨וֹר אַחֵ֜ר [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh
אַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם [3] Revi'a
 
אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹא־יָֽדְעוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
אֶת־יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef

אֶת־הַֽמַּעֲשֶׂ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq

1 2 3 2 2 3 4 3 2 3 2 10 After all that generation were gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who didn’t know the LORD, nor the work which he had done for Israel. [3]
11 וַיַּעֲשׂ֧וּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל [3] Darga Tevir
אֶת־הָרַ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַיַּעַבְד֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַבְּעָלִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 11 The children of Israel did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and served the Baals. [3]
12 וַיַּעַזְב֞וּ [4] Gershayim
אֶת־יְהֹוָ֣ה ׀ [4] Munach Legarmeh
אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֲבוֹתָ֗ם [3] Munach Revi'a
 
הַמּוֹצִ֣יא אוֹתָם֮ [3] Munach Zarqa
מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֒יִם֒ [2] Munach Segol
 
וַיֵּלְכ֞וּ [4] Gershayim
אַחֲרֵ֣י ׀ [4] Munach Legarmeh
אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֗ים [3] Munach Revi'a
 
מֵאֱלֹהֵ֤י הָֽעַמִּים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
אֲשֶׁר֙ [3] Pashta
סְבִיב֣וֹתֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
לָהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּכְעִ֖סוּ [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 4 3 2 3 4 4 3 3 2 2 12 They abandoned the LORD, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed themselves down to them; and they provoked the LORD to anger. [4]
13 וַיַּעַזְב֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּעַבְד֥וּ לַבַּ֖עַל [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְלָעַשְׁתָּרֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 13 They abandoned the LORD, and served Baal and the Ashtaroth. [2]
14 וַיִּֽחַר־אַ֤ף יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
וַֽיִּתְּנֵם֙ [3] Pashta
בְּיַד־שֹׁסִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וַיָּשֹׁ֖סּוּ [2] Tip'cha
אוֹתָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַֽיִּמְכְּרֵ֞ם [4] Gershayim
בְּיַ֤ד אֽוֹיְבֵיהֶם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
מִסָּבִ֔יב [2] Zaqef
 
וְלֹא־יָכְל֣וּ ע֔וֹד [2] Munach Zaqef
לַעֲמֹ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
לִפְנֵ֥י אוֹיְבֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 2 3 4 2 2 14 The LORD’s anger burned against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of raiders who plundered them. He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies. [3]

דִּבֶּ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְכַאֲשֶׁ֛ר [3] Tevir
נִשְׁבַּ֥ע יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לָהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּ֥צֶר לָהֶ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 3 2 3 2 15 Wherever they went out, the LORD’s hand was against them for evil, as the LORD had spoken, and as the LORD had sworn to them; and they were very distressed. [4]
16 וַיָּ֥קֶם יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
שֹׁפְטִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וַיּ֣וֹשִׁיע֔וּם [2] Munach Zaqef
מִיַּ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
שֹׁסֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 16 The LORD raised up judges, who saved them out of the hand of those who plundered them. [2]
17 וְגַ֤ם אֶל־שֹֽׁפְטֵיהֶם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לֹ֣א שָׁמֵ֔עוּ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
כִּ֣י זָנ֗וּ [3] Munach Revi'a
אַֽחֲרֵי֙ [3] Pashta
אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
לָהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
סָ֣רוּ מַהֵ֗ר [3] Munach Revi'a
 
מִן־הַדֶּ֜רֶךְ [4] Geresh
אֲשֶׁ֨ר הָלְכ֧וּ אֲבוֹתָ֛ם [3] Qadma Darga Tevir
לִשְׁמֹ֥עַ מִצְוֺת־יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
 
לֹא־עָ֥שׂוּ כֵֽן׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 3 2 2 3 3 4 17 Yet they didn’t listen to their judges; for they prostituted themselves to other gods, and bowed themselves down to them. They quickly turned away from the way in which their fathers walked, obeying the LORD’s commandments. They didn’t do so. [3]
18 וְכִי־הֵקִ֨ים יְהֹוָ֥ה ׀ לָהֶם֮ [3] Qadma Merkha Zarqa

וְהָיָ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
עִם־הַשֹּׁפֵ֔ט [2] Zaqef
 
וְהֽוֹשִׁיעָם֙ [3] Pashta
מִיַּ֣ד אֹֽיְבֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
כֹּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
יְמֵ֣י הַשּׁוֹפֵ֑ט [1] Munach Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־יִנָּחֵ֤ם יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
מִנַּֽאֲקָתָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
מִפְּנֵ֥י לֹחֲצֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וְדֹחֲקֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 3 2 2 3 2 18 When the LORD raised up judges for them, then the LORD was with the judge, and saved them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for it grieved the LORD because of their groaning by reason of those who oppressed them and troubled them. [3]

וְהִשְׁחִ֣יתוּ מֵֽאֲבוֹתָ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
לָלֶ֗כֶת [3] Revi'a
אַֽחֲרֵי֙ [3] Pashta
אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef
 
לְעׇבְדָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וּלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֣ת לָהֶ֑ם [1] Munach Etnachta
 
לֹ֤א הִפִּ֙ילוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
מִמַּ֣עַלְלֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וּמִדַּרְכָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
הַקָּשָֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 3 3 2 2 3 2 19 But when the judge was dead, they turned back, and dealt more corruptly than their fathers in following other gods to serve them and to bow down to them. They didn’t cease what they were doing, or give up their stubborn ways. [4]
20 וַיִּֽחַר־אַ֥ף יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֗אמֶר [3] Revi'a
 
יַ֩עַן֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָבְר֜וּ [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh
הַגּ֣וֹי הַזֶּ֗ה [3] Munach Revi'a
 
אֶת־בְּרִיתִי֙ [3] Pashta
אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּ֣יתִי אֶת־אֲבוֹתָ֔ם [2] Munach Munach Zaqef
 
וְלֹ֥א שָׁמְע֖וּ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לְקוֹלִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 3 4 3 2 20 The LORD’s anger burned against Israel; and he said, “Because this nation transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and has not listened to my voice, [2]
21 גַּם־אֲנִי֙ [3] Pashta
לֹ֣א אוֹסִ֔יף [2] Munach Zaqef
 
לְהוֹרִ֥ישׁ אִ֖ישׁ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
מִן־הַגּוֹיִ֛ם [3] Tevir
אֲשֶׁר־עָזַ֥ב יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וַיָּמֹֽת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 21 I also will no longer drive out any of the nations that Joshua left when he died from before them; [3]
22 לְמַ֛עַן [3] Tevir
נַסּ֥וֹת בָּ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
הֲשֹׁמְרִ֣ים הֵם֩ אֶת־דֶּ֨רֶךְ יְהֹוָ֜ה [4] Munach TelishaQ Qadma Geresh
לָלֶ֣כֶת בָּ֗ם [3] Munach Revi'a
 
כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר [3] Tevir
שָׁמְר֥וּ אֲבוֹתָ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
 
אִם־לֹֽא׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 4 3 22 that by them I may test Israel, to see if they will keep the LORD’s way to walk therein, as their fathers kept it, or not.” [3]
23 וַיַּנַּ֤ח יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
אֶת־הַגּוֹיִ֣ם הָאֵ֔לֶּה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
לְבִלְתִּ֥י הוֹרִישָׁ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מַהֵ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
וְלֹ֥א נְתָנָ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בְּיַד־יְהוֹשֻֽׁעַ׃ [1] Silluq

1 2 3 2 2 23 So the LORD left those nations, without driving them out hastily. He didn’t deliver them into Joshua’s hand. ¶ [3]
