1 And the LORD said [3] to Moses, [2] the sons of Aaron; [1] ‘For a dead person he shall not make himself unclean [2] among his kinspeople, [1] |

| 2 כִּ֚י [3] Yetiv אִם־לִשְׁאֵר֔וֹ [2] Zaqef אֵלָ֑יו [1] Etnachta וְלִבְנ֥וֹ וּלְבִתּ֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha וּלְאָחִֽיו׃ [1] Silluq |
2 except [3] for his relatives [2] to him, [1] and for his son and for his daughter, [2] and for his brother, [1] |

| 3 וְלַאֲחֹת֤וֹ הַבְּתוּלָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta הַקְּרוֹבָ֣ה אֵלָ֔יו [2] Munach Zaqef לְאִ֑ישׁ [1] Etnachta יִטַּמָּֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
3 and for his virgin sister [3] who is near to him, [2] to a husband; [1] he may make himself unclean. [1] |

4 He shall not make himself unclean, [2] a husband among his kinspeople, [1] |

5 “ ‘They shall not make baldness [3] on their heads, [2] they shall not shave; [1] they shall not make [2] cuts. [1] |

| 6 קְדֹשִׁ֤ים יִהְיוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta לֵאלֹ֣הֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef שֵׁ֖ם [2] Tip'cha אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta לֶ֧חֶם אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֛ם [3] Darga Tevir הֵ֥ם מַקְרִיבִ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha וְהָ֥יוּ קֹֽדֶשׁ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
6 Holy they shall be [3] to their God, [2] the name [2] of their God; [1] the food of their God, [3] they are offering, [2] so they shall be a holy thing. [1] |

7 “ ‘They shall not marry a woman who is a prostitute, or profane. A priest shall not marry a woman divorced from her husband; for he is holy to his God. [3] |

| 8 וְקִ֨דַּשְׁתּ֔וֹ [2] Qadma Zaqef כִּֽי־אֶת־לֶ֥חֶם אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ [2] Merkha Tip'cha ה֣וּא מַקְרִ֑יב [1] Munach Etnachta יִֽהְיֶה־לָּ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha מְקַדִּשְׁכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
8 Therefore you shall sanctify him, for he offers the bread of your God. He shall be holy to you, for I the LORD, who sanctify you, am holy. ¶ [2] |

9 “ ‘The daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the prostitute, she profanes her father. She shall be burned with fire. ¶ [3] |

| 10 וְהַכֹּהֵן֩ הַגָּד֨וֹל מֵאֶחָ֜יו [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh אֲֽשֶׁר־יוּצַ֥ק עַל־רֹאשׁ֣וֹ ׀ [4] Merkha Munach Legarmeh שֶׁ֤מֶן הַמִּשְׁחָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta וּמִלֵּ֣א אֶת־יָד֔וֹ [2] Munach Zaqef אֶת־הַבְּגָדִ֑ים [1] Etnachta לֹ֣א יִפְרָ֔ע [2] Munach Zaqef לֹ֥א יִפְרֹֽם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
10 “ ‘He who is the high priest among his brothers, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and who is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not let the hair of his head hang loose, or tear his clothes. [4] |

11 He must not go in to any dead body, or defile himself for his father or for his mother. [3] |

12 He shall not go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him. I am the LORD. ¶ [3] |

13 “ ‘He shall take a wife in her virginity. [2] |

| 14 אַלְמָנָ֤ה וּגְרוּשָׁה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta וַחֲלָלָ֣ה זֹנָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef לֹ֣א יִקָּ֑ח [1] Munach Etnachta אִם־בְּתוּלָ֥ה מֵעַמָּ֖יו [2] Merkha Tip'cha יִקַּ֥ח אִשָּֽׁה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
14 He shall not marry a widow, or one divorced, or a woman who has been defiled, or a prostitute. He shall take a virgin of his own people as a wife. [3] |

15 He shall not profane his offspring among his people, for I am the LORD who sanctifies him.’ ” ¶ [2] |

| 17 דַּבֵּ֥ר אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֖ן [2] Merkha Tip'cha לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta לְדֹרֹתָ֗ם [3] Revi'a מ֔וּם [2] Zaqef לְהַקְרִ֖יב [2] Tip'cha לֶ֥חֶם אֱלֹהָֽיו׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
17 “Say to Aaron, ‘None of your offspring throughout their generations who has a defect may approach to offer the bread of his God. [2] |

| 18 כִּ֥י כׇל־אִ֛ישׁ [3] Merkha Tevir אֲשֶׁר־בּ֥וֹ מ֖וּם [2] Merkha Tip'cha לֹ֣א יִקְרָ֑ב [1] Munach Etnachta א֣וֹ פִסֵּ֔חַ [2] Munach Zaqef א֥וֹ שָׂרֽוּעַ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
18 For whatever man he is that has a defect, he shall not draw near: a blind man, or a lame, or he who has a flat nose, or any deformity, [3] |

19 or a man who has an injured foot, or an injured hand, [2] |

| 20 אֽוֹ־גִבֵּ֣ן אוֹ־דַ֔ק [2] Munach Zaqef א֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha תְּבַלֻּ֣ל בְּעֵינ֑וֹ [1] Munach Etnachta א֣וֹ יַלֶּ֔פֶת [2] Munach Zaqef מְר֥וֹחַ אָֽשֶׁךְ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
20 or hunchbacked, or a dwarf, or one who has a defect in his eye, or an itching disease, or scabs, or who has damaged testicles. [2] |

| 21 כׇּל־אִ֞ישׁ [4] Gershayim אֲשֶׁר־בּ֣וֹ מ֗וּם [3] Munach Revi'a אַהֲרֹ֣ן הַכֹּהֵ֔ן [2] Munach Zaqef לְהַקְרִ֖יב [2] Tip'cha אֶת־אִשֵּׁ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta לֶ֣חֶם אֱלֹהָ֔יו [2] Munach Zaqef לְהַקְרִֽיב׃ [1] Silluq |
21 No man of the offspring of Aaron the priest who has a defect shall come near to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire. Since he has a defect, he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God. [4] |

22 He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy. [2] |

| 23 אַ֣ךְ אֶל־הַפָּרֹ֜כֶת [4] Munach Geresh לֹ֣א יָבֹ֗א [3] Munach Revi'a לֹ֥א יִגַּ֖שׁ [2] Merkha Tip'cha אֶת־מִקְדָּשַׁ֔י [2] Zaqef אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha מְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃ [1] Silluq |
23 He shall not come near to the veil, nor come near to the altar, because he has a defect; that he may not profane my sanctuaries, for I am the LORD who sanctifies them.’ ” ¶ [4] |
