1 Woe to me! [3] For I have become [3 3] like one who gathers the summer fruits, [2] of the grape harvest. [1] Early figs [2] my appetite craves. [1] |
2 The faithful has perished [3] from the land, [2] there is none. [1] they lie in wait for blood, [2] they hunt with a net. [1] |
3 On that which is evil are both hands, [3 3] to do it diligently. [2] and the judge [2] for a bribe; [1] speaking the evil desire of his soul [3] is he, [2] so they conspire together. [1] |
4 The best of them is like a thorn-bush. [2] The most upright [2] is worse than a thorn hedge. [1] your punishment has come, [2] their confusion. [1] |
5 Do not trust in a neighbor. [2] Do not put confidence [2] in a close friend. [1] guard [2] the words of your mouth! [1] |
6 For a son [3] dishonors a father, [2] rises up against her mother, [2] against her mother-in-law; [1] are the people of his own household. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
7 But as for me, [3] I will look to the LORD, [2] for the God of my salvation; [1] my God. [1] |
8 Do not rejoice O my enemy [3 3] over me, [2] I will arise. [1] the LORD [2] will be my light. [1] ¶ |
9 The indignation of the LORD [3] I will bear, [2] against him; [1] and he executes justice for me. [2] I will look [2] on his righteousness. [1] |
10 Then my enemy will see, [3 3] and shame will cover her, [2] where is he, [2] the LORD your God? [1] they will look on her. [2] she will become a trampling place, [2] like the mud of the streets. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
11 A day [2] to build your walls. [1] your boundary will be extended. [1] |
12 In that day [3] they will come to you, [2] and the cities of Egypt; [1] even to the River, [2] and mountain to mountain. [1] |
13 Yet the land will become [3] a desolation [2] because of its inhabitants; [1] of their deeds. [1] ¶ |
14 Shepherd your people with your rod, [3] the flock [3] of your inheritamce, [2] in a forest [2] in the middle of fertile pasture land; [1] and Gilead, [2] as in the days of old. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
15 “As in the days of your coming out [2] from the land of Egypt; [1] wonders.” [1] |
16 The nations will see [3] and they will be ashamed [2] their might. [1] on mouth, [2] they will be deaf. [1] |
17 They will lick up dust [3] like a snake, [2] they shall come trembling [2] from their strongholds. [1] they will come with fear, [2] because of you. [1] |
18 Who is a God like you, [3] who pardons iniquity [3] and who passes over transgression, [2] of his inheritance? [1] his anger, [2] is he. [1] |
19 He will again have compassion on us, [2] he will subdue [2] our iniquities; [1] into the depths of the sea [2] all their sins. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
20 You will give faithfulness [3] to Jacob, [2] to Abraham; [1] from the days of old. [1] |
