the city of blood! [1]
 
All of it [3]
with lying and plunder [3 3]
is filled. [2]
 
Never without [2]

of a clattering wheel; [1]
 
and a horse galloping, [2]
and a chariot [2]
jolting, [1]

וְלַ֤הַב חֶ֙רֶב֙ [3 3] Pashta
וּבְרַ֣ק חֲנִ֔ית [2] Zaqef
 
וְרֹ֥ב חָלָ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
וְכֹ֣בֶד פָּ֑גֶר [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֵ֥ין קֵ֙צֶה֙ [3 3] Pashta
לַגְּוִיָּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
*יכשלו **וְכָשְׁל֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
בִּגְוִיָּתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

and blade of a sword [3 3]
and flash of a spear, [2]
 
and a multitude of slain [2]
and the weight of corpses; [1]
 
and there is no end [3 3]
to the bodies, [2]
 
and people stumble [2]
over their bodies, [1]

זְנוּנֵ֣י זוֹנָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
ט֥וֹבַת חֵ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
בַּעֲלַ֣ת כְּשָׁפִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
הַמֹּכֶ֤רֶת גּוֹיִם֙ [3] Pashta
בִּזְנוּנֶ֔יהָ [2] Zaqef
 
וּמִשְׁפָּח֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
בִּכְשָׁפֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq

of the prostitutions of a prostitute, [2]
 
with charming graces, [2]
a mistress of sorceries; [1]
 
who sells nations [3]
by her prostitution, [2]
 
and families [2]
by her sorceries. [1]

יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
וְגִלֵּיתִ֥י שׁוּלַ֖יִךְ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־פָּנָ֑יִךְ [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַרְאֵיתִ֤י גוֹיִם֙ [3] Pashta
מַעְרֵ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef
 
וּמַמְלָכ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
קְלוֹנֵֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq

the LORD of Hosts, [2]
 
“and I will lift your skirts [2]
over your face; [1]
 
and I will show the nations [3]
your nakedness, [2]
 
and kingdoms [2]

6 וְהִשְׁלַכְתִּ֥י עָלַ֛יִךְ [3] Tevir
שִׁקֻּצִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וְנִבַּלְתִּ֑יךְ [1] Etnachta
 
וְשַׂמְתִּ֖יךְ [2] Tip'cha
כְּרֹֽאִי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 6 And I will throw on you [3]
detestable things, [2]
and I will treat you with contempt; [1]
 
and I will set you up [2]
as a spectacle. [1]
7 וְהָיָ֤ה כׇל־רֹאַ֙יִךְ֙ [3 3] Pashta
יִדּ֣וֹד מִמֵּ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef
 
וְאָמַר֙ [3] Pashta
שׇׁדְּדָ֣ה נִֽינְוֵ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
מִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
יָנ֣וּד לָ֑הּ [1] Etnachta
 
מֵאַ֛יִן [3] Tevir
אֲבַקֵּ֥שׁ מְנַחֲמִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
לָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq

he will flee from you, [2]

‘Nineveh is laid waste! [2]

פּ֣וּט וְלוּבִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
הָי֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
בְּעֶזְרָתֵֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq

הָלְכָ֣ה בַשֶּׁ֔בִי [2] Zaqef
 
גַּ֧ם עֹלָלֶ֛יהָ [3] Tevir
יְרֻטְּשׁ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
בְּרֹ֣אשׁ כׇּל־חוּצ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
וְעַל־נִכְבַּדֶּ֙יהָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
יַדּ֣וּ גוֹרָ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
וְכׇל־גְּדוֹלֶ֖יהָ [2] Tip'cha
רֻתְּק֥וּ בַזִּקִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq

to exile [3]
she went among the captives, [2]
 
and her children, [3]
they were dashed in pieces [2]
at the head of all the streets; [1]
 
and for her honored men [3 3]

תְּבַקְשִׁ֥י מָע֖וֹז [2] Tip'cha

אִם־יִנּ֕וֹעוּ [2] ZaqefG
וְנָפְל֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־פִּ֥י אוֹכֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq

will be like fig trees [2]
with first-fruits; [1]
 
when they are shaken, [2]

בְּקִרְבֵּ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef
 
לְאֹ֣יְבַ֔יִךְ [2] Zaqef
פָּת֥וֹחַ נִפְתְּח֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
שַׁעֲרֵ֣י אַרְצֵ֑ךְ [1] Etnachta
 
אָכְלָ֥ה אֵ֖שׁ [2] Tip'cha
בְּרִיחָֽיִךְ׃ [1] Silluq

To your enemies, [2]
wide they will be opened, [2]
the gates of your land. [1]
 
Fire will consume [2]

בֹּ֧אִי בַטִּ֛יט [3] Tevir
וְרִמְסִ֥י בַחֹ֖מֶר [2] Tip'cha
הַחֲזִ֥יקִי מַלְבֵּֽן׃ [1] Silluq

Strengthen [2]
your fortifications. [1]
 
Go into the clay [3]
and tread the mortar. [2]
Take hold of a brick mold. [1]

תַּכְרִיתֵ֣ךְ חֶ֔רֶב [2] Zaqef
תֹּאכְלֵ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha

הִתְכַּבֵּ֣ד כַּיֶּ֔לֶק [2] Zaqef
הִֽתְכַּבְּדִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
כָּאַרְבֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq

more than the stars [2]

הַחוֹנִ֤ים בַּגְּדֵרוֹת֙ [3] Pashta
בְּי֣וֹם קָרָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
שֶׁ֤מֶשׁ זָֽרְחָה֙ [3] Pashta
וְנוֹדַ֔ד [2] Zaqef
 
וְלֹא־נוֹדַ֥ע מְקוֹמ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
אַיָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq

יִשְׁכְּנ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
אַדִּירֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
נָפֹ֧שׁוּ עַמְּךָ֛ [3] Tevir
עַל־הֶהָרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וְאֵ֥ין מְקַבֵּֽץ׃ [1] Silluq

Your people are scattered [3]
on the mountains, [2]
with no one to gather them. [1]

תָּ֤קְעוּ כַף֙ [3] Pashta
עָלֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef

לֹא־עָבְרָ֥ה רָעָתְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
