	¹וַיְהִ֣י כַאֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁמַ֣ע סַנְבַלַּ֡ט [4] Munach Munach Munach Pazer וְ֠טוֹבִיָּ֠ה [4] TelishaG וְהָעַרְבִ֨ים וְהָעַמֹּנִ֜ים [4] Qadma Geresh וְהָאַשְׁדּוֹדִ֗ים [3] Revi'a כִּֽי־עָלְתָ֤ה אֲרוּכָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta לְחֹמ֣וֹת יְרוּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם [2] Munach Zaqef כִּי־הֵחֵ֥לּוּ הַפְּרֻצִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha לְהִסָּתֵ֑ם [1] Etnachta וַיִּ֥חַר לָהֶ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Silluq		⁷Now it happened when he heard, Sanballat, [4] and Tobiah [4] and the Arabs and the Ammonites [4] and the Ashdodites, [3] that it was going forward, the repairing [3] of the walls of Jerusalem, [2] that the breaches had begun [2] to be closed; [1] they became angry [2] exceedingly, [1]
	²וַיִּקְשְׁר֤וּ כֻלָּם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta יַחְדָּ֔ו [2] Zaqef לָב֖וֹא [2] Tip'cha לְהִלָּחֵ֣ם בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם [1] Munach Etnachta וְלַעֲשׂ֥וֹת ל֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha תּוֹעָֽה׃ [1] Silluq		⁸and they all conspired [3] together [2] to come [2] and fight against Jerusalem; [1] and to create for it [2] confusion. [1]
	³וַנִּתְפַּלֵּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha אֶל־אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta וַנַּעֲמִ֨יד מִשְׁמָ֧ר עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם [3] Qadma Darga Tevir יוֹמָ֥ם וָלַ֖יְלָה [2] Merkha Tip'cha מִפְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq		⁹But we prayed [2] to our God; [1] and we stationed a guard against them [3] by day and night [2] because of them. [1]
	⁴וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוּדָ֗ה [3] Munach Revi'a כָּשַׁל֙ [3] Pashta כֹּ֣חַ הַסַּבָּ֔ל [2] Munach Zaqef וְהֶעָפָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha הַרְבֵּ֑ה [1] Etnachta וַאֲנַ֙חְנוּ֙ [3] Pashta לֹ֣א נוּכַ֔ל [2] Munach Zaqef לִבְנ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha בַּחוֹמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁰And the people of Judah said, [3] “It is failing, [3] the strength of the laborers, [2] yet the rubble [2] is much; [1] so that we, [3] we won't be able [2] to rebuild [2] the wall.” [1]
	⁵וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ צָרֵ֗ינוּ [3] Munach Revi'a לֹ֤א יֵדְעוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta וְלֹ֣א יִרְא֔וּ [2] Munach Zaqef עַ֛ד [3] Tevir אֲשֶׁר־נָב֥וֹא אֶל־תּוֹכָ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha וַהֲרַגְנ֑וּם [1] Etnachta וְהִשְׁבַּ֖תְנוּ [2] Tip'cha אֶת־הַמְּלָאכָֽה׃ [1] Silluq		¹¹And our adversaries said, [3] “They will not know [3] and they will not see, [2] until [3] we come into their midst [2] and we kill them; [1] and we put an end to [2] the work.” [1]
	⁶וַֽיְהִי֙ [3] Pashta כַּאֲשֶׁר־בָּ֣אוּ הַיְּהוּדִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha אֶצְלָ֑ם [1] Etnachta וַיֹּ֤אמְרוּ לָ֙נוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta עֶ֣שֶׂר פְּעָמִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef מִכׇּל־הַמְּקֹמ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha אֲשֶׁר־תָּשׁ֥וּבוּ עָלֵֽינוּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		¹²Now it happened [3] when the Jews came [2] who dwelt [2] beside them; [1] they told us (this) [3] ten times [2] from every place [2] where you shall turn to us (it shall be). [1]
	⁷וָֽאַעֲמִ֞יד [4] Gershayim מִֽתַּחְתְּי֧וֹת לַמָּק֛וֹם [3] Darga Tevir מֵאַחֲרֵ֥י לַחוֹמָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha בצחחיים *בַּצְּחִיחִ֑ים [1] Etnachta וָֽאַעֲמִ֤יד אֶת־הָעָם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta לְמִשְׁפָּח֔וֹת [2] Zaqef עִם־חַרְבֹתֵיהֶ֛ם [3] Tevir רׇמְחֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha וְקַשְּׁתֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq		¹³So I stationed people [4] in the lower places [3] behind the wall [2] in the open places; [1] and I stationed the people [3] by clans, [2] with their swords [3] their spears [2] and their bows. [1]
	⁸וָאֵ֣רֶא וָאָק֗וּם [3] Munach Revi'a וָאֹמַ֞ר [4] Gershayim אֶל־הַחֹרִ֤ים וְאֶל־הַסְּגָנִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta וְאֶל־יֶ֣תֶר הָעָ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef אַל־תִּֽירְא֖וּ [2] Tip'cha מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta אֶת־אֲדֹנָ֞י [4] Gershayim הַגָּד֤וֹל וְהַנּוֹרָא֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta זְכֹ֔רוּ [2] Zaqef וְהִֽלָּחֲמ֗וּ [3] Revi'a עַל־אֲחֵיכֶם֙ [3] Pashta בְּנֵיכֶ֣ם וּבְנֹתֵיכֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef נְשֵׁיכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha וּבָתֵּיכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq פ		¹⁴When I looked, I rose up [3] and I said [4] to the nobles and to the officials [3] and to the rest of the people, [2] “Don’t be afraid [2] of them; [1] the Lord [4] who is great and awesome, [3] remember - [2] and fight [3] for your brothers [3] your sons and your daughters, [2] your wives [2] and your homes.” [1] ¶
	⁹וַיְהִ֞י [4] Gershayim כַּֽאֲשֶׁר־שָׁמְע֤וּ אוֹיְבֵ֙ינוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta כִּי־נ֣וֹדַֽע לָ֔נוּ [2] Munach Zaqef וַיָּ֥פֶר הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha אֶת־עֲצָתָ֑ם [1] Etnachta ונשוב *וַנָּ֤שׇׁב כֻּלָּ֙נוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta אֶל־הַ֣חוֹמָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef אִ֖ישׁ [2] Tip'cha אֶל־מְלַאכְתּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁵And it was [4] when our enemies heard [3] that it was known to us, [2] and God had frustrated [2] their plan; [1] we all returned [3] to the wall, [2] each [2] to his work. [1]
	¹⁰וַיְהִ֣י ׀ [4] Munach Legarmeh מִן־הַיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא [3] Munach Revi'a חֲצִ֣י נְעָרַי֮ [3] Munach Zarqa עֹשִׂ֣ים בַּמְּלָאכָה֒ [2] Munach Segol וְחֶצְיָ֗ם [3] Revi'a מַחֲזִיקִים֙ [3] Pashta וְהָרְמָחִ֣ים הַמָּגִנִּ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef וְהַקְּשָׁת֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha וְהַשִּׁרְיֹנִ֑ים [1] Etnachta וְהַ֨שָּׂרִ֔ים [2] Qadma Zaqef אַחֲרֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha כׇּל־בֵּ֥ית יְהוּדָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		¹⁶And it was [4] from that day on [3] half of my men [3] were doing the work, [2] and half of them [3] held [3] the spears and the shields, [2] and the bows [2] and the breastplates; [1] and the leaders [2] were behind [2] all the house of Judah. [1]
	¹¹הַבּוֹנִ֧ים בַּחוֹמָ֛ה [3] Darga Tevir וְהַנֹּשְׂאִ֥ים בַּסֶּ֖בֶל [2] Merkha Tip'cha עֹמְשִׂ֑ים [1] Etnachta בְּאַחַ֤ת יָדוֹ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta עֹשֶׂ֣ה בַמְּלָאכָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef וְאַחַ֖ת [2] Tip'cha מַחֲזֶ֥קֶת הַשָּֽׁלַח׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		¹⁷Those who were building the wall [3] and those who carried burdens [2] were carrying; [1] with his one hand [3] doing the work, [2] and one hand [2] holding a weapon. [1]
	¹²וְהַ֨בּוֹנִ֔ים [2] Qadma Zaqef אִ֥ישׁ חַרְבּ֛וֹ [3] Merkha Tevir אֲסוּרִ֥ים עַל־מׇתְנָ֖יו [2] Merkha Tip'cha וּבוֹנִ֑ים [1] Etnachta וְהַתּוֹקֵ֥עַ בַּשּׁוֹפָ֖ר [2] Merkha Tip'cha אֶצְלִֽי׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁸So the builders, [2] each one his sword [3] was strapped to his side [2] while building; [1] and the one who sounded the shofar [2] was beside me. [1]
	¹³וָאֹמַ֞ר [4] Gershayim אֶל־הַחֹרִ֤ים וְאֶל־הַסְּגָנִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta וְאֶל־יֶ֣תֶר הָעָ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef הַמְּלָאכָ֥ה הַרְבֵּ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha וּרְחָבָ֑ה [1] Etnachta וַאֲנַ֗חְנוּ [3] Revi'a נִפְרָדִים֙ [3] Pashta עַל־הַ֣חוֹמָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef רְחוֹקִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha אִ֥ישׁ מֵאָחִֽיו׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		¹⁹Then I said [4] to the nobles and to the officials [3] and to the rest of the people, [2] “The work is extensive [2] and spread out; [1] and we [3] are separated [3] on the wall, [2] far [2] from one another. [1]
	¹⁴בִּמְק֗וֹם [3] Revi'a אֲשֶׁ֤ר תִּשְׁמְעוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta אֶת־ק֣וֹל הַשּׁוֹפָ֔ר [2] Munach Zaqef שָׁ֖מָּה [2] Tip'cha תִּקָּבְצ֣וּ אֵלֵ֑ינוּ [1] Munach Etnachta אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha יִלָּ֥חֶם לָֽנוּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		²⁰Wherever [3] you hear [3] the sound of the shofar, [2] there [2] join us; [1] our God, [2] he will fight for us.” [1]
	¹⁵וַאֲנַ֖חְנוּ [2] Tip'cha עֹשִׂ֣ים בַּמְּלָאכָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta וְחֶצְיָ֗ם [3] Revi'a מַחֲזִיקִים֙ [3] Pashta בָּֽרְמָחִ֔ים [2] Zaqef מֵעֲל֣וֹת הַשַּׁ֔חַר [2] Munach Zaqef עַ֖ד [2] Tip'cha צֵ֥את הַכּוֹכָבִֽים׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		²¹So we [2] did the work; [1] with half of them [3] holding [3] spears, [2] from the rising of the dawn [2] until [2] the stars came out. [1]
	¹⁶גַּ֣ם בָּעֵ֤ת הַהִיא֙ [3] Munach Mapakh Pashta אָמַ֣רְתִּי לָעָ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef אִ֣ישׁ וְנַעֲר֔וֹ [2] Munach Zaqef יָלִ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha בְּת֣וֹךְ יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם [1] Munach Etnachta וְהָֽיוּ־לָ֧נוּ הַלַּ֛יְלָה [3] Darga Tevir מִשְׁמָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha וְהַיּ֥וֹם מְלָאכָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq		²²Also at that time [3] I said to the people, [2] “Each one with his servant, [2] let them spend the night [2] inside Jerusalem; [1] so they can be for us in the night [3] a guard, [2] and in the day a worker.” [1]
	¹⁷וְאֵ֨ין אֲנִ֜י [4] Qadma Geresh וְאַחַ֣י וּנְעָרַ֗י [3] Munach Revi'a וְאַנְשֵׁ֤י הַמִּשְׁמָר֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta אֲשֶׁ֣ר אַחֲרַ֔י [2] Munach Zaqef אֵין־אֲנַ֥חְנוּ פֹשְׁטִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha בְּגָדֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta אִ֖ישׁ [2] Tip'cha שִׁלְח֥וֹ הַמָּֽיִם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq פ		²³So neither I [4] nor my brothers nor my servants, [3] nor the men of the guard [3] who followed me, [2] none of us took off [2] our clothes; [1] each one [2] his weapon (he took to) the water. [1] ¶
