1 וַיְהִ֣י כַאֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁמַ֣ע סַנְבַלַּ֡ט [4] Munach Munach Munach Pazer
וְ֠טוֹבִיָּ֠ה [4] TelishaG
וְהָעַרְבִ֨ים וְהָעַמֹּנִ֜ים [4] Qadma Geresh
וְהָאַשְׁדּוֹדִ֗ים [3] Revi'a
 
כִּֽי־עָלְתָ֤ה אֲרוּכָה֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לְחֹמ֣וֹת יְרוּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
כִּי־הֵחֵ֥לּוּ הַפְּרֻצִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לְהִסָּתֵ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּ֥חַר לָהֶ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Silluq

that it was going forward, the repairing [3]

to be closed; [1]
 
they became angry [2]
exceedingly, [1]
2 וַיִּקְשְׁר֤וּ כֻלָּם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta

לְהִלָּחֵ֣ם בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְלַעֲשׂ֥וֹת ל֖וֹ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
תּוֹעָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

to come [2]
and fight against Jerusalem; [1]
 
and to create for it [2]
confusion. [1]
3 וַנִּתְפַּלֵּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וַנַּעֲמִ֨יד מִשְׁמָ֧ר עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם [3] Qadma Darga Tevir
יוֹמָ֥ם וָלַ֖יְלָה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מִפְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq

to our God; [1]
 
and we stationed a guard against them [3]
by day and night [2]
because of them. [1]
4 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוּדָ֗ה [3] Munach Revi'a
כָּשַׁל֙ [3] Pashta
כֹּ֣חַ הַסַּבָּ֔ל [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְהֶעָפָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
הַרְבֵּ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַאֲנַ֙חְנוּ֙ [3] Pashta
לֹ֣א נוּכַ֔ל [2] Munach Zaqef
 
לִבְנ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
בַּחוֹמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

“It is failing, [3]
the strength of the laborers, [2]
 
yet the rubble [2]
is much; [1]
 
so that we, [3]
we won't be able [2]
 
to rebuild [2]
the wall.” [1]
5 וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ צָרֵ֗ינוּ [3] Munach Revi'a
לֹ֤א יֵדְעוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וְלֹ֣א יִרְא֔וּ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
עַ֛ד [3] Tevir
אֲשֶׁר־נָב֥וֹא אֶל־תּוֹכָ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וַהֲרַגְנ֑וּם [1] Etnachta
 
וְהִשְׁבַּ֖תְנוּ [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַמְּלָאכָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

“They will not know [3]
and they will not see, [2]
 
until [3]
we come into their midst [2]
and we kill them; [1]
 
and we put an end to [2]
the work.” [1]

כַּאֲשֶׁר־בָּ֣אוּ הַיְּהוּדִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef
 
הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
אֶצְלָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֤אמְרוּ לָ֙נוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
עֶ֣שֶׂר פְּעָמִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef
 
מִכׇּל־הַמְּקֹמ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁר־תָּשׁ֥וּבוּ עָלֵֽינוּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

who dwelt [2]
beside them; [1]
 
they told us (this) [3]
ten times [2]
 
from every place [2]
where you shall turn to us (it shall be). [1]

מִֽתַּחְתְּי֧וֹת לַמָּק֛וֹם [3] Darga Tevir
מֵאַחֲרֵ֥י לַחוֹמָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
*בצחחיים **בַּצְּחִיחִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וָֽאַעֲמִ֤יד אֶת־הָעָם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לְמִשְׁפָּח֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
עִם־חַרְבֹתֵיהֶ֛ם [3] Tevir
רׇמְחֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וְקַשְּׁתֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq

and I stationed the people [3]
by clans, [2]
 
with their swords [3]
their spears [2]

אֶל־הַחֹרִ֤ים וְאֶל־הַסְּגָנִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וְאֶל־יֶ֣תֶר הָעָ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
אַל־תִּֽירְא֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
אֶת־אֲדֹנָ֞י [4] Gershayim
הַגָּד֤וֹל וְהַנּוֹרָא֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
זְכֹ֔רוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְהִֽלָּחֲמ֗וּ [3] Revi'a
עַל־אֲחֵיכֶם֙ [3] Pashta
בְּנֵיכֶ֣ם וּבְנֹתֵיכֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
נְשֵׁיכֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וּבָתֵּיכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq

“Don’t be afraid [2]
of them; [1]
 
the Lord [4]
who is great and awesome, [3]

and fight [3]
for your brothers [3]
your sons and your daughters, [2]
 
your wives [2]
and your homes.” [1]

כִּי־נ֣וֹדַֽע לָ֔נוּ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וַיָּ֥פֶר הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֶת־עֲצָתָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
*ונשוב **וַנָּ֤שׇׁב כֻּלָּ֙נוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
אֶל־הַ֣חוֹמָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
אִ֖ישׁ [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־מְלַאכְתּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

to the wall, [2]

מִן־הַיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא [3] Munach Revi'a
 
חֲצִ֣י נְעָרַי֮ [3] Munach Zarqa
עֹשִׂ֣ים בַּמְּלָאכָה֒ [2] Munach Segol
 
וְחֶצְיָ֗ם [3] Revi'a
מַחֲזִיקִים֙ [3] Pashta
וְהָרְמָחִ֣ים הַמָּגִנִּ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְהַקְּשָׁת֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
וְהַשִּׁרְיֹנִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַ֨שָּׂרִ֔ים [2] Qadma Zaqef
אַחֲרֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
כׇּל־בֵּ֥ית יְהוּדָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

מַחֲזֶ֥קֶת הַשָּֽׁלַח׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

with his one hand [3]
doing the work, [2]

holding a weapon. [1]

אִ֥ישׁ חַרְבּ֛וֹ [3] Merkha Tevir
אֲסוּרִ֥ים עַל־מׇתְנָ֖יו [2] Merkha Tip'cha
וּבוֹנִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַתּוֹקֵ֥עַ בַּשּׁוֹפָ֖ר [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֶצְלִֽי׃ [1] Silluq

each one his sword [3]
was strapped to his side [2]
while building; [1]
 
and the one who sounded the shofar [2]
was beside me. [1]

וַאֲנַ֗חְנוּ [3] Revi'a
נִפְרָדִים֙ [3] Pashta
עַל־הַ֣חוֹמָ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
רְחוֹקִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
אִ֥ישׁ מֵאָחִֽיו׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

תִּקָּבְצ֣וּ אֵלֵ֑ינוּ [1] Munach Etnachta
 
אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
יִלָּ֥חֶם לָֽנוּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

מֵעֲל֣וֹת הַשַּׁ֔חַר [2] Munach Zaqef
עַ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
צֵ֥את הַכּוֹכָבִֽים׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

spears, [2]
 
from the rising of the dawn [2]
until [2]
the stars came out. [1]

אָמַ֣רְתִּי לָעָ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
אִ֣ישׁ וְנַעֲר֔וֹ [2] Munach Zaqef
יָלִ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
בְּת֣וֹךְ יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וְהָֽיוּ־לָ֧נוּ הַלַּ֛יְלָה [3] Darga Tevir
מִשְׁמָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
וְהַיּ֥וֹם מְלָאכָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

אֵין־אֲנַ֥חְנוּ פֹשְׁטִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
בְּגָדֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta
 
אִ֖ישׁ [2] Tip'cha
שִׁלְח֥וֹ הַמָּֽיִם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq
