1 Then all the people were gathered together [3] as one man [2] that [2] was before the water gate; [1] Ezra the scribe [2] the scroll [3] of the Torah of Moses [2] to Israel. [1] |

| 2 וַיָּבִ֣יא עֶזְרָ֣א הַ֠כֹּהֵ֠ן [4] Munach Munach TelishaG אֶֽת־הַתּוֹרָ֞ה [4] Gershayim לִפְנֵ֤י הַקָּהָל֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta מֵאִ֣ישׁ וְעַד־אִשָּׁ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef מֵבִ֣ין לִשְׁמֹ֑עַ [1] Munach Etnachta לַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
2 So Ezra the priest brought [4] the Torah [4] before the assembly, [3] of both men and women, [2] who could understand what they heard; [1] of the seventh month. [1] |

| 3 וַיִּקְרָא־בוֹ֩ לִפְנֵ֨י הָרְח֜וֹב [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh אֲשֶׁ֣ר ׀ [4] Munach Legarmeh לִפְנֵ֣י שַֽׁעַר־הַמַּ֗יִם [3] Munach Revi'a עַד־מַחֲצִ֣ית הַיּ֔וֹם [2] Munach Zaqef הָאֲנָשִׁ֥ים וְהַנָּשִׁ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha וְהַמְּבִינִ֑ים [1] Etnachta אֶל־סֵ֥פֶר הַתּוֹרָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
3 So he read from it before the plaza [4] that [4] was in front of the water gate [3] until midday, [2] the men and the women, [2] and of those who could understand; [1] were attentive to the scroll of the Torah. [1] |

4 And he stood, [4] Ezra the scribe, [3] which had been constructed for the purpose, [2] Mattithiah [4] and Shema [4] and Anaiah [4] and Uriah and Hilkiah [3] and Mishael and Malchijah [3] and Hashum and Hashbaddanah, [2] ¶ |

5 And Ezra opened the scroll [3] in the sight of all the people, [2] he was; [1] all the people stood up. [1] |

7 And Yeshua [4] and Bani [4] and Sherebiah, [4] Jamin, [4] Akkub, [4] Shabbethai, [4] Hodiah, [4] Maaseiah, [4] Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, [3] the Torah; [1] were standing in their place. [1] |

8 They read in the scroll, [3] in the Torah of God, [2] with clarity; [1] so that they understood [2] the reading. [1] ¶ |

9 Then he, he said, Nehemiah the governor, [4] and Ezra the priest, the scribe, [4] and the Levites who were teaching the people, [4] to all the people, [3] to the LORD your God. [2] and do not weep!” [1] were all the people [2] the words of the Torah. [1] |

10 And he said to them, [4] “Go, eat choice food [4] and drink sweet drinks, [3] to any for whom nothing is prepared, [2] to our Lord; [1] for the joy of the LORD, [2] it is your refuge.” [1] |

11 And the Levites [4] quieted all the people [3] saying, “Hush, [2] is holy; [1] |

| 12 וַיֵּלְכ֨וּ כׇל־הָעָ֜ם [4] Qadma Geresh לֶאֱכֹ֤ל וְלִשְׁתּוֹת֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta וּלְשַׁלַּ֣ח מָנ֔וֹת [2] Munach Zaqef שִׂמְחָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta בַּדְּבָרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef לָהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq פ |
12 So all the people went [4] to eat and to drink [3] and to send portions [2] with great joy; [1] the words [2] to them. [1] ¶ |

13 And on the second day [4] they gathered, the heads of the fathers [4] of all the people, [3] and the Levites, [2] the scribe; [1] into the words of the Torah. [1] |

14 And they found [2] written in the Torah; [1] by the hand of Moses [2] during the feast [2] of the seventh month, [1] |

| 15 וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר יַשְׁמִ֗יעוּ [3] Munach Revi'a וְיַעֲבִ֨ירוּ ק֥וֹל בְּכׇל־עָרֵיהֶם֮ [3] Qadma Merkha Zarqa וּבִירוּשָׁלַ֣͏ִם לֵאמֹר֒ [2] Munach Segol וְהָבִ֙יאוּ֙ [3] Pashta עֲלֵי־זַ֙יִת֙ [3] Pashta וַעֲלֵי־עֵ֣ץ שֶׁ֔מֶן [2] Munach Zaqef וַעֲלֵ֣י תְמָרִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef עֵ֣ץ עָבֹ֑ת [1] Munach Etnachta כַּכָּתֽוּב׃ [1] Silluq ס |
15 and that they should proclaim [3] and they should spread this message in all their towns [3] and in Jerusalem saying, [2] and bring [3] olive branches [3] and wild olive branches, [2] and palm branches, [2] of leafy trees; [1] just as it is written.” [1] § |
