1 וַיֵּאָסְפ֤וּ כׇל־הָעָם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta

וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ [3] Pashta
לְעֶזְרָ֣א הַסֹּפֵ֔ר [2] Munach Zaqef
 
לְהָבִ֗יא [3] Revi'a
אֶת־סֵ֙פֶר֙ [3] Pashta
תּוֹרַ֣ת מֹשֶׁ֔ה [2] Munach Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֥ה יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq

Ezra the scribe [2]
 
to bring out [3]
the scroll [3]

which the LORD had commanded [2]
to Israel. [1]

and when he opened it, [2]

וַיַּֽעֲנ֨וּ כׇל־הָעָ֜ם [4] Qadma Geresh

וַיִּקְּד֧וּ וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֛וּ [3] Darga Tevir

אַפַּ֥יִם אָֽרְצָה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

the Torah; [1]
 
while the people [2]
were standing in their place. [1]
8 וַֽיִּקְרְא֥וּ בַסֵּ֛פֶר [3] Merkha Tevir
בְּתוֹרַ֥ת הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Merkha Tip'cha
מְפֹרָ֑שׁ [1] Etnachta
 
וְשׂ֣וֹם שֶׂ֔כֶל [2] Munach Zaqef
וַיָּבִ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
בַּמִּקְרָֽא׃ [1] Silluq

with clarity; [1]
 
and they explained the meaning [2]
so that they understood [2]
the reading. [1]
9 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר נְחֶמְיָ֣ה ה֣וּא הַתִּרְשָׁ֡תָא [4] Munach Munach Munach Pazer
וְעֶזְרָ֣א הַכֹּהֵ֣ן ׀ הַסֹּפֵ֡ר [4] Munach Munach Pazer
וְהַלְוִיִּם֩ הַמְּבִינִ֨ים אֶת־הָעָ֜ם [4] TelishaQ Qadma Geresh
לְכׇל־הָעָ֗ם [3] Revi'a
 
הַיּ֤וֹם קָדֹֽשׁ־הוּא֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לַיהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
אַל־תִּֽתְאַבְּל֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
וְאַל־תִּבְכּ֑וּ [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֤י בוֹכִים֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
כׇּל־הָעָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
כְּשׇׁמְעָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י הַתּוֹרָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

and Ezra the priest, the scribe, [4]
and the Levites who were teaching the people, [4]

“This day, it is holy [3]
to the LORD your God. [2]
 
Do not mourn, [2]
and do not weep!” [1]
 
For weeping [3]
were all the people [2]
 
when they heard [2]
the words of the Torah. [1]

לְאֵ֣ין נָכ֣וֹן ל֔וֹ [2] Munach Munach Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־קָד֥וֹשׁ הַיּ֖וֹם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לַאֲדֹנֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְאַל־תֵּ֣עָצֵ֔בוּ [2] Munach Zaqef
כִּֽי־חֶדְוַ֥ת יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
הִ֥יא מָֽעֻזְּכֶֽם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

“Go, eat choice food [4]
and drink sweet drinks, [3]
 
and send portions [3]
to any for whom nothing is prepared, [2]
 
for holy is this day [2]
to our Lord; [1]
 
and do not be grieved, [2]
for the joy of the LORD, [2]
it is your refuge.” [1]
11 וְהַלְוִיִּ֞ם [4] Gershayim
מַחְשִׁ֤ים לְכׇל־הָעָם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
לֵאמֹ֣ר הַ֔סּוּ [2] Munach Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י הַיּ֖וֹם [2] Merkha Tip'cha
קָדֹ֑שׁ [1] Etnachta
 
וְאַל־תֵּעָצֵֽבוּ׃ [1] Silluq

quieted all the people [3]
saying, “Hush, [2]
 
for this day [2]
is holy; [1]
 
so do not be grieved.” [1]
12 וַיֵּלְכ֨וּ כׇל־הָעָ֜ם [4] Qadma Geresh
לֶאֱכֹ֤ל וְלִשְׁתּוֹת֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וּלְשַׁלַּ֣ח מָנ֔וֹת [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וְלַעֲשׂ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
שִׂמְחָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֑ה [1] Munach Etnachta
 
כִּ֤י הֵבִ֙ינוּ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
בַּדְּבָרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר הוֹדִ֖יעוּ [2] Merkha Tip'cha
לָהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq

וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
אֶל־עֶזְרָ֖א [2] Tip'cha
הַסֹּפֵ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
וּלְהַשְׂכִּ֖יל [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־דִּבְרֵ֥י הַתּוֹרָֽה׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Qadma Mapakh Pashta
בְּיַד־מֹשֶׁ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁר֩ יֵשְׁב֨וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֧ל בַּסֻּכּ֛וֹת [3] TelishaQ Qadma Darga Tevir
בֶּחָ֖ג [2] Tip'cha
בַּחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

that the LORD had commanded [3]
by the hand of Moses [2]
 
that the children of Israel should dwell in booths [3]
during the feast [2]
of the seventh month, [1]

וְיַעֲבִ֨ירוּ ק֥וֹל בְּכׇל־עָרֵיהֶם֮ [3] Qadma Merkha Zarqa
וּבִירוּשָׁלַ֣͏ִם לֵאמֹר֒ [2] Munach Segol
 
צְא֣וּ הָהָ֗ר [3] Munach Revi'a
וְהָבִ֙יאוּ֙ [3] Pashta
עֲלֵי־זַ֙יִת֙ [3] Pashta
וַעֲלֵי־עֵ֣ץ שֶׁ֔מֶן [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וַעֲלֵ֤י הֲדַס֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וַעֲלֵ֣י תְמָרִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וַעֲלֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
עֵ֣ץ עָבֹ֑ת [1] Munach Etnachta
 
לַעֲשֹׂ֥ת סֻכֹּ֖ת [2] Merkha Tip'cha
כַּכָּתֽוּב׃ [1] Silluq

“Go out to the hill country [3]

olive branches [3]

and palm branches, [2]
 
and branches [2]
of leafy trees; [1]
 
to make shelters [2]
just as it is written.” [1]

אִ֤ישׁ עַל־גַּגּוֹ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta
וּבְחַצְרֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וּבְחַצְר֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
בֵּ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וּבִרְחוֹב֙ [3] Pashta
שַׁ֣עַר הַמַּ֔יִם [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וּבִרְח֖וֹב [2] Tip'cha
שַׁ֥עַר אֶפְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

each on his own roof, [3]
and in their courtyards, [2]

17 וַיַּֽעֲשׂ֣וּ כׇֽל־הַ֠קָּהָ֠ל [4] Munach TelishaG
הַשָּׁבִ֨ים מִן־הַשְּׁבִ֥י ׀ סֻכּוֹת֮ [3] Qadma Merkha Zarqa
וַיֵּשְׁב֣וּ בַסֻּכּוֹת֒ [2] Munach Segol
 
כִּ֣י לֹֽא־עָשׂ֡וּ [4] Munach Pazer
מִימֵי֩ יֵשׁ֨וּעַ בִּן־נ֥וּן כֵּן֙ [3] TelishaQ Qadma Merkha Pashta
בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Munach Zaqef
 
עַ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
הַיּ֣וֹם הַה֑וּא [1] Munach Etnachta
 
וַתְּהִ֥י שִׂמְחָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha
גְּדוֹלָ֥ה מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Merkha Silluq

since the days of Joshua the son of Nun like this, [3]

וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־חָג֙ [3] Pashta
שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef
 
וּבַיּ֧וֹם הַשְּׁמִינִ֛י [3] Darga Tevir

כַּמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃ [1] Silluq
