1 Now on day twenty and four [4] of this month [3] with fasting and in sackcloth, [2] on them. [1] |

| 2 וַיִּבָּֽדְלוּ֙ [3] Pashta זֶ֣רַע יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Munach Zaqef בְּנֵ֣י נֵכָ֑ר [1] Munach Etnachta וַיִּתְוַדּוּ֙ [3] Pashta עַל־חַטֹּ֣אתֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef אֲבֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
2 And they separated themselves, [3] the offspring of Israel [2] foreigners; [1] and they confessed [3] their sins, [2] of their fathers. [1] |

| 3 וַיָּק֙וּמוּ֙ [3] Pashta עַל־עׇמְדָ֔ם [2] Zaqef בְּסֵ֨פֶר תּוֹרַ֧ת יְהֹוָ֛ה [3] Qadma Darga Tevir אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha רְבִעִ֣ית הַיּ֑וֹם [1] Munach Etnachta מִתְוַדִּ֣ים וּמִֽשְׁתַּחֲוִ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq פ |
3 And they stood [3] in their place, [2] in the scroll of the Torah of the LORD [3] their God [2] a fourth of the day; [1] they confessed and they bowed down [2] their God. [1] ¶ |

4 Then he stood [4] on the platform, the Levites - [3] Kadmiel, Shebaniah, [3] Bunni, Sherebiah, [2] with a loud voice [2] their God. [1] |

5 And they said, the Levites - [4] Yeshua and Kadmiel, [4] Bani, Hashabneiah, [4] Sherebiah, Hodiah, [3] bless [3] the LORD your God [2] to everlasting; [1] your glorious name, [2] and praise! [1] |

6 You are He O LORD, [3] you alone. [2] the heavens, the heaven of heavens [4] and all their host, [3] and all that is on it, [3] and all that is in them, [2] give life to them all; [1] to you bow down. [1] |

8 and you found his heart [3] faithful before you, [2] the covenant [3] the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, [4] the Amorite and the Perizzite, [3] and the Jebusite and the Girgashite, [2] your words, [2] are you. [1] |

9 And you saw [3] the affliction of our fathers [2] in Egypt; [1] at the Sea of Reeds, [1] |

10 and you showed [4] signs and wonders [4] against Pharaoh and against all his servants, [3] and against all the people of his land, [2] how insolently they had acted [2] against them; [1] as is to this day. [1] |

11 And the sea [3] you divided before them, [2] on dry land; [1] you threw into the depths, [3] like a stone [2] into mighty waters. [1] |

12 And with a pillar of cloud [2] you led them [2] by day; [1] by night, [2] the way [2] in which they were to walk. [1] |

13 And on Mount Sinai [3] you came down [2] from heaven; [1] just judgments [3] and reliable laws, [2] that were good, [1] |

15 and bread [4] from heaven [4] you gave them [3] for their hunger, [2] from a rock [3] you brought forth for them [2] for their thirst; [1] to go in [3] to possess the land [2] to give to them. [1] |

16 But they and our fathers, [2] they behaved arrogantly; [1] their neck [2] to your commands, [1] |

| 17 וַיְמָאֲנ֣וּ לִשְׁמֹ֗עַ [3] Munach Revi'a וְלֹא־זָכְר֤וּ נִפְלְאֹתֶ֙יךָ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשִׂ֣יתָ עִמָּהֶ֔ם [2] Munach Munach Zaqef אֶת־עׇרְפָּ֔ם [2] Zaqef לָשׁ֥וּב לְעַבְדֻתָ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha בְּמִרְיָ֑ם [1] Etnachta חַנּ֧וּן וְרַח֛וּם [3] Darga Tevir אֶֽרֶךְ־אַפַּ֥יִם וְרַב־*וחסד **חֶ֖סֶד [2] Merkha Tip'cha וְלֹ֥א עֲזַבְתָּֽם׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
17 and they refused to obey, [3] they did not remember your wonders [3] that you had done among them, [2] their neck, [2] to return to their bondage, [2] in their rebellion; [1] merciful and compassionate, [3] slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, [2] so you did not abandon them. [1] |

18 Even [3] when they made for themselves [3] a cast image of a calf, [2] ‘This is your God [2] who brought you up [2] from Egypt;’ [1] blasphemies [2] great, [1] |

| 19 וְאַתָּה֙ [3] Pashta בְּרַחֲמֶ֣יךָ הָֽרַבִּ֔ים [2] Munach Zaqef בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר [1] Etnachta לֹא־סָ֨ר מֵעֲלֵיהֶ֤ם בְּיוֹמָם֙ [3] Qadma Mapakh Pashta לְהַנְחֹתָ֣ם בְּהַדֶּ֔רֶךְ [2] Munach Zaqef לְהָאִ֣יר לָהֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef אֲשֶׁ֥ר יֵֽלְכוּ־בָֽהּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
19 yet you [3] in your great compassion, [2] in the wilderness; [1] it did not depart from over them by day [3] to lead them on the way, [2] to give light to them [2] in which they were to walk. [1] |

20 And your Spirit [3] who is good, [2] to instruct them; [1] you did not withhold from their mouth, [2] you gave them [2] for their thirst. [1] |

21 For forty years [3] you sustained them in the wilderness, [2] they lacked nothing; [1] they did not wear out, [2] they did not swell. [1] |

| 22 וַתִּתֵּ֨ן לָהֶ֤ם מַמְלָכוֹת֙ [3] Qadma Mapakh Pashta וַעֲמָמִ֔ים [2] Zaqef לְפֵאָ֑ה [1] Etnachta אֶת־אֶ֣רֶץ סִיח֗וֹן [3] Munach Revi'a מֶ֣לֶךְ חֶשְׁבּ֔וֹן [2] Munach Zaqef ע֥וֹג מֶֽלֶךְ־הַבָּשָֽׁן׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
22 And you gave them kingdoms [3] and peoples, [2] every corner; [1] the land of Sihon, [3] of the king of Heshbon, [2] of Og king of Bashan. [1] |

23 And their children you multiplied [2] like the stars [2] of the heavens; [1] into the land [2] to go in to inherit. [1] |

24 So the children went in [3] and they possessed the land, [2] the inhabitants of the land, [3] the Canaanites, [2] into their hands; [1] and the peoples of the land, [2] as they pleased. [1] |

25 And they captured [4] fortified cities [3] and fertile land, [2] houses full of every good thing, [4] cisterns dug out, [4] vineyards and olive trees, [3] and they grew fat, [2] in your great goodness. [1] |

| 26 וַיַּמְר֨וּ וַֽיִּמְרְד֜וּ [4] Qadma Geresh בָּ֗ךְ [3] Revi'a אַחֲרֵ֣י גַוָּ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef אֲשֶׁר־הֵעִ֥ידוּ בָ֖ם [2] Merkha Tip'cha לַהֲשִׁיבָ֣ם אֵלֶ֑יךָ [1] Munach Etnachta נֶאָצ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha גְּדוֹלֹֽת׃ [1] Silluq |
26 But they were disobedient and they rebelled [4] against you, [3] behind their back, [2] who had warned them [2] to make them return to you; [1] blasphemies [2] great. [1] |

27 So you delivered them [3] into the hand of their enemies [2] them; [1] they cried to you, [2] you heard from heaven, [2] you gave them [3] deliverers, [2] from the hand of their enemies. [1] |

| 28 וּכְנ֣וֹחַ לָהֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef יָשׁ֕וּבוּ [2] ZaqefG לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת רַ֖ע [2] Merkha Tip'cha לְפָנֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta בְּיַ֤ד אֹֽיְבֵיהֶם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta וַיִּרְדּ֣וּ בָהֶ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef וַיִּזְעָק֔וּךָ [2] Zaqef מִשָּׁמַ֧יִם תִּשְׁמַ֛ע [3] Darga Tevir וְתַצִּילֵ֥ם כְּֽרַחֲמֶ֖יךָ [2] Merkha Tip'cha רַבּ֥וֹת עִתִּֽים׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
28 But as soon as they were at rest, [2] they returned to [2] doing evil [2] before you; [1] into the hand of their enemies, [3] and they ruled over them. [2] and they cried out to you, [2] you heard from heaven, [3] and you delivered them according to your compassion, [2] many times. [1] |

| 29 וַתָּ֨עַד בָּהֶ֜ם [4] Qadma Geresh לַהֲשִׁיבָ֣ם אֶל־תּוֹרָתֶ֗ךָ [3] Munach Revi'a וְלֹא־שָׁמְע֤וּ לְמִצְוֺתֶ֙יךָ֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta וּבְמִשְׁפָּטֶ֣יךָ חָֽטְאוּ־בָ֔ם [2] Munach Zaqef וְחָיָ֣ה בָהֶ֑ם [1] Munach Etnachta סוֹרֶ֔רֶת [2] Zaqef וְלֹ֥א שָׁמֵֽעוּ׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
29 And you warned them [4] to turn them back to your Torah, [3] and they did not listen to your commandments, [3] but they sinned against your ordinances, [2] then he will live by them; [1] of stubbornness, [2] and they would not listen. [1] |

| 30 וַתִּמְשֹׁ֤ךְ עֲלֵיהֶם֙ [3] Mapakh Pashta שָׁנִ֣ים רַבּ֔וֹת [2] Munach Zaqef בְּיַד־נְבִיאֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha וְלֹ֣א הֶאֱזִ֑ינוּ [1] Munach Etnachta בְּיַ֖ד [2] Tip'cha עַמֵּ֥י הָאֲרָצֹֽת׃ [1] Merkha Silluq |
30 And you put up with them [3] many years, [2] by the hand of your prophets, [2] but they would not listen; [1] into the hand [2] of the peoples of the lands. [1] |

| 31 וּֽבְרַחֲמֶ֧יךָ הָרַבִּ֛ים [3] Darga Tevir לֹֽא־עֲשִׂיתָ֥ם כָּלָ֖ה [2] Merkha Tip'cha וְלֹ֣א עֲזַבְתָּ֑ם [1] Munach Etnachta אֵֽל־חַנּ֥וּן וְרַח֖וּם [2] Merkha Tip'cha אָֽתָּה׃ [1] Silluq |
31 Yet in your great compassion [3] you did not put an end to them, [2] and you did not abandon them; [1] a gracious and compassionate God [2] are you. [1] |

32 So now O our God, [4] God the great, [4] the mighty and the awesome, [3] who keeps covenant and lovingkindness, [2] all the hardship that has come upon us, [4] our kings, our leaders and our priests [3] and our prophets and our fathers, [2] of the kings of Assyria [2] this day. [1] |

33 You are righteous [2] in [2] all that has come upon us; [1] but we have done wickedly. [1] |

35 For they, even in their own kingdom and in your great goodness [4] that you gave them, [3] which you set before them, [2] from their deeds [2] that are evil. [1] |

36 Behold, [3] we this day [2] are slaves; [1] which you gave to our fathers [3] and its good things, [2] we are slaves [2] in it. [1] |

37 And it yields much increase [3] to the kings [3] whom you have set over us [2] because of our sins; [1] they rule and over our livestock, [3] as they please, [2] are we. [1] ¶ |
