2 to know wisdom [3] and discipline; [2] words of insight, [1] |

3 לָ֭קַחַת [3] Dechi מוּסַ֣ר הַשְׂכֵּ֑ל [2] Etnachta וּמֵשָׁרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
3 to receive [3] instruction in wise behavior; [2] and fairness, [1] |
|||
4 לָתֵ֣ת לִפְתָאיִ֣ם [3] VDechi עׇרְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta דַּ֣עַת וּמְזִמָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
4 to give to the simple [3] prudence; [2] knowledge and discretion. [1] |

5 יִשְׁמַ֣ע חָ֭כָם [3] Dechi וְי֣וֹסֶף לֶ֑קַח [2] Etnachta תַּחְבֻּל֥וֹת יִקְנֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
5 Let the wise listen [3] and let him increase in learning; [2] let him obtain wise counsel, [1] |

6 לְהָבִ֣ין מָ֭שָׁל [3] Dechi וּמְלִיצָ֑ה [2] Etnachta וְחִידֹתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
6 to understand a proverb [3] and a saying; [2] and their riddles. [1] |

7 יִרְאַ֣ת יְ֭הֹוָה [3] Dechi רֵאשִׁ֣ית דָּ֑עַת [2] Etnachta אֱוִילִ֥ים בָּֽזוּ׃ [1] Silluq פ |
7 The fear of the LORD [3] is the beginning of knowledge; [2] fools despise. [1] ¶ |

8 Hear O my son [3] the instruction of your father; [2] the teaching of your mother, [1] |

9 כִּ֤י ׀ [4/3] Mahpakh Legarmeh לִוְיַ֤ת חֵ֓ן הֵ֬ם לְרֹאשֶׁ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta לְגַרְגְּרֹתֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
9 for [4/3] a graceful garland they will be for your head; [2] for your neck. [1] |

10 בְּנִ֡י [4/3] Pazer אִם־יְפַתּ֥וּךָ חַ֝טָּאִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash אַל־תֹּבֵֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
10 O my son [4/3] if sinners entice you, [2] do not consent. [1] |

11 אִם־יֹאמְרוּ֮ [3] Sinnor לְכָ֢ה אִ֫תָּ֥נוּ [2] Ole Veyored נִצְפְּנָ֖ה לְנָקִ֣י [2] VRevMug חִנָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
11 If they say [3] “Come with us; [2] Let us ambush the innocent [2] without cause. [1] |

12 נִ֭בְלָעֵם [3] Dechi כִּשְׁא֣וֹל חַיִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta כְּי֣וֹרְדֵי בֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq |
12 Let us swallow them up [3] alive like Sheol; [2] like those who go down to the pit. [1] |

13 כׇּל־ה֣וֹן יָקָ֣ר [3] VDechi נִמְצָ֑א [2] Etnachta שָׁלָֽל׃ [1] Silluq |
13 All kinds of valuable possessions [3] we will find; [2] with plunder. [1] |

14 גּ֭וֹרָ֣לְךָ [3] Dechi תַּפִּ֣יל בְּתוֹכֵ֑נוּ [2] Etnachta יִהְיֶ֥ה לְכֻלָּֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
14 Your lot [3] you shall cast among us; [2] we will all have.” [1] |

15 בְּנִ֗י [3] Revi'i אַל־תֵּלֵ֣ךְ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ [3] VDechi אִתָּ֑ם [2] Etnachta מִנְּתִיבָתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
15 O my son, [3] do not walk in the way [3] with them; [2] from their paths, [1] |

16 כִּ֣י רַ֭גְלֵיהֶם [3] Dechi לָרַ֣ע יָר֑וּצוּ [2] Etnachta לִשְׁפׇּךְ־דָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
16 for their feet, [3] they run to evil; [2] to shed blood. [1] |

17 כִּֽי־חִ֭נָּם [3] Dechi מְזֹרָ֣ה הָרָ֑שֶׁת [2] Etnachta כׇּל־בַּ֥עַל כָּנָֽף׃ [1] Silluq |
17 For in vain [3] the net is spread out; [2] of any bird, [1] |

18 וְ֭הֵם [3] Dechi לְדָמָ֣ם יֶאֱרֹ֑בוּ [2] Etnachta לְנַפְשֹׁתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
18 but they, [3] they lie in wait for their own blood; [2] for their own lives. [1] |
|||
19 כֵּ֗ן [3] Revi'i אׇ֭רְחוֹת [3] Dechi כׇּל־בֹּ֣צֵֽעַ בָּ֑צַע [2] Etnachta יִקָּֽח׃ [1] Silluq פ |
19 Such [3] are the ways [3] of everyone who is greedy for unjust gain; [2] it takes away. [1] ¶ |

20 Wisdom, [3] in the street she calls out; [2] she raises her voice. [1] |

21 Above the commotion [3] she calls out; [2] her words she speaks, [1] |

22 עַד־מָתַ֣י ׀ פְּתָיִם֮ [3] Sinnor תְּֽאֵהֲב֫וּ פֶ֥תִי [2] Ole Veyored לָ֭צוֹן [3] Dechi חָמְד֣וּ לָהֶ֑ם [2] Etnachta יִשְׂנְאוּ־דָֽעַת׃ [1] Silluq |
22 “How long O simple ones [3] will you love simplicity; [2] mockery [3] will they delight themselves in, [2] will they hate knowledge? [1] |

23 If you turn [3] at my reproof; [2] my spirit, [2] to you. [1] |

24 יַ֣עַן קָ֭רָאתִי [3] Dechi וַתְּמָאֵ֑נוּ [2] Etnachta וְאֵ֣ין מַקְשִֽׁיב׃ [1] Silluq |
24 Because I called [3] and you refused; [2] and no one has paid attention, [1] |

25 וַתִּפְרְע֥וּ כׇל־עֲצָתִ֑י [2] Etnachta לֹ֣א אֲבִיתֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
25 and you ignored all my counsel; [2] you would not accept, [1] |

26 גַּם־אֲ֭נִי [3] Dechi בְּאֵידְכֶ֣ם אֶשְׂחָ֑ק [2] Etnachta בְּבֹ֣א פַחְדְּכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
26 I also, [3] I will laugh at your calamity; [2] when your dread comes, [1] |

27 בְּבֹ֤א *כשאוה **כְשׁוֹאָ֨ה ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh פַּחְדְּכֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i כְּסוּפָ֣ה יֶאֱתֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta צָרָ֥ה וְצוּקָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
27 when like a storm comes [4] your dread, [3] it comes like a whirlwind; [2] distress and anguish. [1] |

28 אָ֣ז יִ֭קְרָאֻנְנִי [3] Dechi וְלֹ֣א אֶעֱנֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta וְלֹ֣א יִמְצָאֻֽנְנִי׃ [1] Silluq |
28 Then they will call to me [3] but I will not answer; [2] but they will not find me, [1] |

29 תַּ֭חַת [3] Dechi כִּֽי־שָׂ֣נְאוּ דָ֑עַת [2] Etnachta לֹ֣א בָחָֽרוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
29 because [3] they hated knowledge; [2] they did not choose. [1] |

30 לֹא־אָב֥וּ לַעֲצָתִ֑י [2] Etnachta כׇּל־תּוֹכַחְתִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
30 They refused my counsel; [2] all my reproof, [1] |
|||
31 וְֽ֭יֹאכְלוּ [3] Dechi מִפְּרִ֣י דַרְכָּ֑ם [2] Etnachta יִשְׂבָּֽעוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
31 so they shall eat [3] of the fruit of their way; [2] they will be filled. [1] |

32 כִּ֤י מְשׁוּבַ֣ת פְּתָיִ֣ם [3] VDechi תַּהַרְגֵ֑ם [2] Etnachta תְּאַבְּדֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
32 For the turning away of the simple, [3] it will kill them; [2] it will destroy them. [1] |

33 וְשֹׁמֵ֣עַֽ לִ֭י [3] Dechi יִשְׁכׇּן־בֶּ֑טַח [2] Etnachta מִפַּ֥חַד רָעָֽה׃ [1] Silluq פ |
33 But whoever listens to me, [3] he will dwell securely; [2] without fear of harm.” [1] ¶ |
