1 לֵ֣ץ הַ֭יַּיִן [3] Dechi
הֹמֶ֣ה שֵׁכָ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
וְכׇל־שֹׁ֥גֶה בּ֝֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א יֶחְכָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 Wine is a mocker, [3]
strong drink a brawler; [2]
 
and whoever is led astray by them, [2]
he is not wise. [1]
2 נַ֣הַם כַּ֭כְּפִיר [3] Dechi
אֵ֣ימַת מֶ֑לֶךְ [2] Etnachta
 
מִ֝תְעַבְּר֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
חוֹטֵ֥א נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 A roaring like a young lion [3]
is the wrath of a king; [2]
 
the one who provokes him to anger [2]
forfeits his life. [1]
3 כָּב֣וֹד לָ֭אִישׁ [3] Dechi
שֶׁ֣בֶת מֵרִ֑יב [2] Etnachta
 
וְכׇל־אֱ֝וִ֗יל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִתְגַּלָּֽע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 It is an honor for a person [3]
to keep away from strife; [2]
 
but every fool, [2]
he quarrels. [1]
4 מֵ֭חֹרֶף [3] Dechi
עָצֵ֣ל לֹא־יַחֲרֹ֑שׁ [2] Etnachta
 
*ישאל **וְשָׁאַ֖ל בַּקָּצִ֣יר [2] VRevMug
וָאָֽיִן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 Because it's winter, [3]
a sluggard doesn't plow; [2]
 
so he begs at the harvest, [2]
and has nothing. [1]
5 מַ֣יִם עֲ֭מֻקִּים [3] Dechi
עֵצָ֣ה בְלֶב־אִ֑ישׁ [2] Etnachta
 
וְאִ֖ישׁ תְּבוּנָ֣ה [2] VRevMug
יִדְלֶֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 Deep water [3]
is the purpose in the heart of a man; [2]
 
but a man of understanding, [2]
he draws it out. [1]
6 רׇב־אָדָ֗ם [3] Revi'i
יִ֭קְרָא [3] Dechi
אִ֣ישׁ חַסְדּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְאִ֥ישׁ אֱ֝מוּנִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִ֣י יִמְצָֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 6 Many men, [3]
they proclaim [3]
each one his unfailing love; [2]
 
but a faithful man, [2]
who can find? [1]
7 מִתְהַלֵּ֣ךְ בְּתֻמּ֣וֹ [3] VDechi
צַדִּ֑יק [2] Etnachta
 
אַשְׁרֵ֖י בָנָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
אַחֲרָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 He walks in his integrity, [3]
the righteous; [2]
 
how blessed are his sons [2]
after him. [1]
8 מֶ֗לֶךְ [3] Revi'i
יוֹשֵׁ֥ב עַל־כִּסֵּא־דִ֑ין [2] Etnachta
 
מְזָרֶ֖ה בְעֵינָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
כׇּל־רָֽע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 A king [3]
who sits on a throne of judgment; [2]
 
separates out with his eyes [2]
all evil. [1]
9 מִֽי־יֹ֭אמַר [3] Dechi
זִכִּ֣יתִי לִבִּ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
טָ֝הַ֗רְתִּי [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵחַטָּאתִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 Who can say, [3]
“I have kept my heart pure; [2]
 
I am cleansed [2]
from my sin?” [1]
10 אֶ֣בֶן וָ֭אֶבֶן [3] Dechi
אֵיפָ֣ה וְאֵיפָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
תּוֹעֲבַ֥ת יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
גַּם־שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 Differing weights [3]
and differing measures; [2]
 
an abomination to the LORD [2]
are even both of them. [1]
11 גַּ֣ם בְּ֭מַעֲלָלָיו [3] Dechi
יִתְנַכֶּר־נָ֑עַר [2] Etnachta
 
אִם־זַ֖ךְ וְאִם־יָשָׁ֣ר [2] VRevMug
פׇּעֳלֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 Even by his deeds [3]
a child makes himself known; [2]
 
whether pure and whether right [2]
is his work. [1]
12 אֹ֣זֶן שֹׁ֭מַעַת [3] Dechi
וְעַ֣יִן רֹאָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עָשָׂ֥ה גַם־שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 An ear which hears, [3]
and an eye which sees; [2]
 
the LORD, [2]
he has made even both of them. [1]
13 אַל־תֶּאֱהַ֣ב שֵׁ֭נָה [3] Dechi
פֶּן־תִּוָּרֵ֑שׁ [2] Etnachta
 
פְּקַ֖ח עֵינֶ֣יךָ [2] VRevMug
שְֽׂבַֽע־לָֽחֶם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 Don’t love sleep [3]
lest you come to poverty; [2]
 
open your eyes, [2]
be satisfied with bread. [1]
14 רַ֣ע רַ֭ע [3] Dechi
יֹאמַ֣ר הַקּוֹנֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְאֹזֵ֥ל ל֝֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אָ֣ז יִתְהַלָּֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 “It’s no good, it’s no good,” [3]
says the buyer; [2]
 
but when he has gone his way, [2]
then he boasts. [1]
15 יֵ֣שׁ זָ֭הָב [3] Dechi
וְרׇב־פְּנִינִ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וּכְלִ֥י יְ֝קָ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שִׂפְתֵי־דָֽעַת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 There is gold [3]
and abundance of rubies; [2]
 
but precious [2]
are lips of knowledge. [1]
16 לְֽקַח־בִּ֭גְדוֹ [3] Dechi
כִּי־עָ֣רַב זָ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
וּבְעַ֖ד *נכרים **נׇכְרִיָּ֣ה [2] VRevMug
חַבְלֵֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 Take his garment, [3]
for he puts up collateral for a stranger; [2]
 
and for a foreign woman, [2]
hold it in pledge. [1]
17 עָרֵ֣ב לָ֭אִישׁ [3] Dechi
לֶ֣חֶם שָׁ֑קֶר [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝אַחַ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִמָּֽלֵא־פִ֥יהוּ חָצָֽץ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 Sweet to a man [3]
is the bread of falsehood; [2]
 
but afterwards [2]
his mouth is filled with gravel. [1]
18 מַ֭חֲשָׁבוֹת [3] Dechi
בְּעֵצָ֣ה תִכּ֑וֹן [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝בְתַחְבֻּל֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עֲשֵׂ֣ה מִלְחָמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 Plans [3]
are established by counsel; [2]
 
so with guidance [2]
wage war. [1]
19 גּֽוֹלֶה־סּ֭וֹד [3] Dechi
הוֹלֵ֣ךְ רָכִ֑יל [2] Etnachta
 
וּלְפֹתֶ֥ה שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א תִתְעָרָֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 (He) reveals secrets, [3]
one who goes about as a slanderer; [2]
 
so with one who opens wide his lips, [2]
don’t associate. [1]
20 מְ֭קַלֵּל [3] Dechi
אָבִ֣יו וְאִמּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
יִֽדְעַ֥ךְ נֵ֝ר֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
*באישון **בֶּאֱשׁ֥וּן חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 The one who curses [3]
his father and his mother; [2]
 
his lamp will be extinguished [2]
in the darkness. [1]
21 נַ֭חֲלָה [3] Dechi
*מבחלת **מְבֹהֶ֣לֶת בָּרִאשׁוֹנָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝אַחֲרִיתָ֗הּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א תְבֹרָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 An inheritance [3]
hastily gained at the beginning; [2]
 
at its end [2]
it will not be blessed. [1]
22 אַל־תֹּאמַ֥ר אֲשַׁלְּמָה־רָ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
קַוֵּ֥ה לַ֝יהֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְיֹ֣שַֽׁע לָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 22 Don’t say, “I will pay back evil.” [2]
 
Wait for the LORD, [2]
so that he may deliver you. [1]
23 תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת יְ֭הֹוָה [3] Dechi
אֶ֣בֶן וָאָ֑בֶן [2] Etnachta
 
וּמֹאזְנֵ֖י מִרְמָ֣ה [2] VRevMug
לֹא־טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 An abomination to the LORD [3]
are differing weights; [2]
 
and dishonest balances [2]
are not good. [1]
24 מֵיְהֹוָ֥ה מִצְעֲדֵי־גָ֑בֶר [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝אָדָ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מַה־יָּבִ֥ין דַּרְכּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 24 From the LORD are the steps of a man; [2]
 
and man, [2]
how can he understand his own way? [1]
25 מוֹקֵ֣שׁ אָ֭דָם [3] Dechi
יָ֣לַע קֹ֑דֶשׁ [2] Etnachta
 
וְאַחַ֖ר נְדָרִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
לְבַקֵּֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 It is a snare to a man [3]
to say rashly “It is holy,” [2]
 
and only after the vows [2]
to reflect. [1]
26 מְזָרֶ֣ה רְ֭שָׁעִים [3] Dechi
מֶ֣לֶךְ חָכָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וַיָּ֖שֶׁב עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם [2] VRevMug
אוֹפָֽן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 (He) winnows out the wicked, [3]
a wise king; [2]
 
he drives over them [2]
the threshing wheel. [1]
27 נֵ֣ר יְ֭הֹוָה [3] Dechi
נִשְׁמַ֣ת אָדָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
חֹ֝פֵ֗שׂ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כׇּל־חַדְרֵי־בָֽטֶן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 27 The lamp of the LORD [3]
is the spirit of a man; [2]
 
searching [2]
all his innermost parts. [1]
28 חֶ֣סֶד וֶֽ֭אֱמֶת [3] Dechi
יִצְּרוּ־מֶ֑לֶךְ [2] Etnachta
 
וְסָעַ֖ד בַּחֶ֣סֶד [2] VRevMug
כִּסְאֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 28 Love and faithfulness, [3]
they preserve a king; [2]
 
and he sustains by love [2]
his throne. [1]
29 תִּפְאֶ֣רֶת בַּחוּרִ֣ים [3] VDechi
כֹּחָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וַהֲדַ֖ר זְקֵנִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
שֵׂיבָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 29 The glory of young men [3]
is their strength; [2]
 
and the splendor of old men [2]
is gray hair. [1]
30 חַבֻּר֣וֹת פֶּ֭צַע [3] Dechi
*תמריק **תַּמְר֣וּק בְּרָ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝מַכּ֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
חַדְרֵי־בָֽטֶן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 30 Wounding blows [3]
cleanse away evil; [2]
 
and beatings, [2]
the innermost parts. [1]
