1 טֽוֹב־רָ֭שׁ [3] Dechi
הוֹלֵ֣ךְ בְּתֻמּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
מֵעִקֵּ֥שׁ שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְה֣וּא כְסִֽיל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 Good is the poor [3]
who walks in his integrity; [2]
 
more than one who is perverse of his lips, [2]
and he is a fool. [1]
2 גַּ֤ם בְּלֹא־דַ֣עַת נֶ֣פֶשׁ [3] VDechi
לֹא־ט֑וֹב [2] Etnachta
 
וְאָ֖ץ בְּרַגְלַ֣יִם [2] VRevMug
חוֹטֵֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 Also that the soul be without knowledge [3]
is not good; [2]
 
and hastening with the feet [2]
misses the mark. [1]
3 אִוֶּ֣לֶת אָ֭דָם [3] Dechi
תְּסַלֵּ֣ף דַּרְכּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְעַל־יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִזְעַ֥ף לִבּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 The foolishness of man [3]
subverts his way; [2]
 
and against the LORD [2]
his heart rages. [1]
4 ה֗וֹן [3] Revi'i
יֹ֭סִיף [3] Dechi
רֵעִ֣ים רַבִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝דָ֗ל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵרֵעֵ֥הוּ יִפָּרֵֽד׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 4 Wealth, [3]
it adds [3]
many friends; [2]
 
but the poor, [2]
he is separated from his friend. [1]
5 עֵ֣ד שְׁ֭קָרִים [3] Dechi
לֹ֣א יִנָּקֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְיָפִ֥יחַ כְּ֝זָבִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א יִמָּלֵֽט׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 A false witness, [3]
he will not go unpunished; [2]
 
and he who breathes out lies, [2]
he will not escape. [1]
6 רַ֭בִּים [3] Dechi
יְחַלּ֣וּ פְנֵֽי־נָדִ֑יב [2] Etnachta
 
וְכׇל־הָ֝רֵ֗עַ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְאִ֣ישׁ מַתָּֽן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 Many, [3]
they seek the favor of a ruler; [2]
 
and everyone is the friend [2]
of a giver of gifts. [1]
7 כׇּ֥ל אֲחֵי־רָ֨שׁ ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
שְֽׂנֵאֻ֗הוּ [3] Revi'i
 
אַ֤ף כִּ֣י מְ֭רֵעֵהוּ [3] Dechi
רָחֲק֣וּ מִמֶּ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
מְרַדֵּ֖ף אֲמָרִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
*לא **לוֹ־הֵֽמָּה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 3 2 7 All the brothers of the poor, [4]
they hate him, [3]
 
how much more his friends, [3]
they go far from him; [2]
 
he pursues (them) with words, [2]
but they are not. [1]
8 קֹֽנֶה־לֵּ֭ב [3] Dechi
אֹהֵ֣ב נַפְשׁ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
שֹׁמֵ֥ר תְּ֝בוּנָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לִמְצֹא־טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 One who gets wisdom [3]
loves his own soul; [2]
 
one who keeps understanding [2]
shall find good. [1]
9 עֵ֣ד שְׁ֭קָרִים [3] Dechi
לֹ֣א יִנָּקֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְיָפִ֖יחַ כְּזָבִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
יֹאבֵֽד׃ [1] Silluq

מְשֹׁ֬ל בְּשָׂרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 10 Not fitting for a fool [3]
is luxury; [2]
 
much less, [2]
for a servant [4/2]
to rule over princes. [1]
11 שֵׂ֣כֶל אָ֭דָם [3] Dechi
הֶאֱרִ֣יךְ אַפּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝תִפְאַרְתּ֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עֲבֹ֣ר עַל־פָּֽשַׁע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 The prudence of a man, [3]
it restrains his anger; [2]
 
and his glory [2]
is to overlook an offense. [1]
12 נַ֣הַם כַּ֭כְּפִיר [3] Dechi
זַ֣עַף מֶ֑לֶךְ [2] Etnachta
 
וּכְטַ֖ל עַל־עֵ֣שֶׂב [2] VRevMug
רְצוֹנֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 A roaring like a lion [3]
is the wrath of a king; [2]
 
but like dew on the grass [2]
is his favor. [1]
13 הַוֺּ֣ת לְ֭אָבִיו [3] Dechi
בֵּ֣ן כְּסִ֑יל [2] Etnachta
 
וְדֶ֥לֶף טֹ֝רֵ֗ד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִדְיְנֵ֥י אִשָּֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 Trouble to his father [3]
is a foolish son; [2]
 
and a constant dripping [2]
are the contentions of a wife. [1]
14 בַּ֣יִת וָ֭הוֹן [3] Dechi
נַחֲלַ֣ת אָב֑וֹת [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝מֵיְהֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אִשָּׁ֥ה מַשְׂכָּֽלֶת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 House and wealth [3]
are an inheritance from fathers; [2]
 
but from the LORD [2]
is a prudent wife. [1]
15 עַ֭צְלָה [3] Dechi
תַּפִּ֣יל תַּרְדֵּמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְנֶ֖פֶשׁ רְמִיָּ֣ה [2] VRevMug
תִרְעָֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 Laziness [3]
brings on deep sleep; [2]
 
and the idle soul, [2]
he shall be hungry. [1]
16 שֹׁמֵ֣ר מִ֭צְוָה [3] Dechi
שֹׁמֵ֣ר נַפְשׁ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
בּוֹזֵ֖ה דְרָכָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
*יומת **יָמֽוּת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 The one who keeps a commandment [3]
guards his soul; [2]
 
the one who neglects his ways, [2]
he shall die. [1]
17 מַלְוֵ֣ה יְ֭הֹוָה [3] Dechi
ח֣וֹנֵֽן דָּ֑ל [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝גְמֻל֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יְשַׁלֶּם־לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 Lending to the LORD, [3]
is the one who is kind to the poor; [2]
 
and what he has given, [2]
he will repay to him. [1]
18 יַסֵּ֣ר בִּ֭נְךָ [3] Dechi
כִּֽי־יֵ֣שׁ תִּקְוָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְאֶל־הֲ֝מִית֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אַל־תִּשָּׂ֥א נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 Discipline your son, [3]
for there is hope; [2]
 
and to putting him to death [2]
don’t be a willing party. [1]
19 *גרל **גְּֽדׇל־חֵ֭מָה [3] Dechi
נֹ֣שֵׂא עֹ֑נֶשׁ [2] Etnachta
 
כִּ֥י אִם־תַּ֝צִּ֗יל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְע֣וֹד תּוֹסִֽף׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 One with great rage [3]
must pay the penalty; [2]
 
for if you rescue him, [2]
you'll have to do it again. [1]
20 שְׁמַ֣ע עֵ֭צָה [3] Dechi
וְקַבֵּ֣ל מוּסָ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
לְ֝מַ֗עַן [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תֶּחְכַּ֥ם בְּאַחֲרִיתֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 Listen to counsel [3]
and accept correction; [2]
 
so that [2]
you may be wise in the end. [1]
21 רַבּ֣וֹת מַחֲשָׁב֣וֹת [3] VDechi
בְּלֶב־אִ֑ישׁ [2] Etnachta
 
וַעֲצַ֥ת יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
הִ֣יא תָקֽוּם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 Many are the plans [3]
in the heart of a man; [2]
 
but the purpose of the LORD, [2]
it is what will stand. [1]
22 תַּאֲוַ֣ת אָדָ֣ם [3] VDechi
חַסְדּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְטֽוֹב־רָ֝֗שׁ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵאִ֥ישׁ כָּזָֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 What is desired of a man [3]
is his kindness; [2]
 
and good is one who is poor, [2]
more than a liar. [1]
23 יִרְאַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֣ה [3] VDechi
לְחַיִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וְשָׂבֵ֥עַ יָ֝לִ֗ין [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בַּל־יִפָּ֥קֶד רָֽע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 The fear of the LORD [3]
leads to life; [2]
 
and he will rest satisfied, [2]
he will not be visited by trouble. [1]
24 טָ֘מַ֤ן עָצֵ֣ל יָ֭דוֹ [3] Dechi
בַּצַּלָּ֑חַת [2] Etnachta
 
גַּם־אֶל־פִּ֝֗יהוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א יְשִׁיבֶֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 A sluggard buries his hand [3]
in the dish; [2]
 
even to his mouth [2]
he doesn't bring it back. [1]
25 לֵ֣ץ תַּ֭כֶּה [3] Dechi
וּפֶ֣תִי יַעְרִ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וְהוֹכִ֥יחַ לְ֝נָב֗וֹן [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יָבִ֥ין דָּֽעַת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 Strike a scoffer, [3]
and the simple will learn prudence; [2]
 
but reprove one who has understanding, [2]
he will gain knowledge. [1]
26 מְֽשַׁדֶּד־אָ֭ב [3] Dechi
יַבְרִ֣יחַ אֵ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
בֵּ֝֗ן [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵבִ֥ישׁ וּמַחְפִּֽיר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 One who robs a father, [3]
he drives away a mother; [2]
 
is a son [2]
who causes shame and brings reproach. [1]
27 חֲֽדַל־בְּ֭נִי [3] Dechi
לִשְׁמֹ֣עַ מוּסָ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
לִ֝שְׁג֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵאִמְרֵי־דָֽעַת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 27 Cease O my son [3]
to listen to correction; [2]
 
(and you will) stray [2]
from words of knowledge. [1]
28 עֵ֣ד בְּ֭לִיַּעַל [3] Dechi
יָלִ֣יץ מִשְׁפָּ֑ט [2] Etnachta
 
וּפִ֥י רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יְבַלַּע־אָֽוֶן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 28 A corrupt witness, [3]
he mocks justice; [2]
 
and the mouth of the wicked, [2]
it gulps down iniquity. [1]
29 נָכ֣וֹנוּ לַלֵּצִ֣ים [3] VDechi
שְׁפָטִ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝מַהֲלֻמ֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְגֵ֣ו כְּסִילִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 29 They are prepared for scoffers, [3]
penalties; [2]
 
and beatings [2]
for the back of fools. [1]
